"Okay...since we've acquired the Space Stone...we should complete the duo by going for the Time Stone next." Twilight said.
"Oh yeah, I recall the Green Goblin using it before he lost control." Al said.
Starlight sighed.
"Something wrong, Starlight?" Ethox asked.
"Let's just say I kinda have a bad reputation when it comes to time." Starlight said.
"Relax. I'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with time in a literal sense." Alphamon said.
"We know what the time stone can do though." Gemini said. "It was able to displace an entire city."
The group entered a chamber bathed in green light, as they were gazing upon some sort of race track. In the center of it was the Time stone, glowing.
"Hmm… it looks like the Time Stone's trial must be some sort of race." Kendo said.
"And me without my bike. What a wasted opportunity." David said.
"Well, it looks like it's up to our fastest teammates."
"Or just one fast hedgehog." Sonic said, stepping up.
"Very well...go and claim it." Jexi said.
Sonic stood at the start with the Time Stone floating ahead. A starting gun went off as the jewel flew off only to quickly be caught by the blue speedster. "See? Way too easy."
"Yep. Very easy. Nice work, Sonic." UlforceVeedramon said.
"Thanks." Sonic said. "And that makes two stones."
"Yeah...this shouldn't take too much longer to complete all of the challenges." Ghost Spider said.
"In that case, let's focus on the next stone. I'm thinking Mind Stone." Hope said.
"Mind Stone, huh? Hope you know what you're doing." David said.
"Don't worry. I'm sure we can overcome it." Hope said as they proceeded to the next trial. However, they arrived in a strange arena where a familiar foe stood with the stone in his robotic fingers. "No way…"
"Ah...it seems you all are a bit too late." the foe said.
"Ultron…" Iron Man said.
"He was trapped in the Mind Stone after we defeated him, and now he's returned." Miriam said.
"It seems the stone has offered me one last chance to defeat you. I could not ask for a better opportunity. Not all of those who bested me are here, but… those who are will suffice." Ultron said.
"Really? Cause we've all gotten a lot stronger since the Convergence." David said. "And you're only half of who you were before."
"You're speaking of the version of me who foolishly fused with Sigma...I am nothing like that failure." Ultron said. "Besides...I have something to guarantee victory." Ultron said, placing the Mind Stone in his forehead as it integrated with his circuitry.
"Well, we'll see right now if you're going to end up like your other self." Zephyr said.
"Time for Round 2." Al said.
"Guys, guys… I need you all to stay cautious on this one. The Mind Stone has increased his processing power." Fulgore said.
"He knows how to use it now too, and with the Mind Stone's power he can look into our heads and read our every move and exploit our weaknesses." Hope said.
"Now then, I'm waiting, heroes. Make your moves, see if they'll measure up to me now." Ultron said.
"My...the moment someone claims to be all knowing, you all begin to squabble as if the battle is unwinnable." Hakurou said as he slowly approached Ultron. "Ultron was it...I will be your opponent."
"Oh...I do not envy him." Theo said.
"Is this a joke? Sending out some old man?" Ultron asked.
"Would you prefer it if it was me instead?" David asked before being hit on the head.
"That's kind but keep in your play boy." Hakurou said.
"Yes sir" David said rubbing his head.
"Fine...have it your way!" Ultron said firing multiple lasers at the old kijin. "There...it's...what?!" he said, seeing the kijin unharmed. "I was certain I fired a number of lasers."
"You did...they really weren't anything special to deflect." Hakurou said.
"What? Did it actually…" Adora said.
"Yes...it did. It just happened too fast to be caught by the human eye." UlforceVeedramon said.
"Yeah...this is why I do not envy Ultron. I've faced the old man in a number of sparring matches...and I still haven't pulled off a win." Theo said.
"It should not matter. With the Mind Stone...I can assert your weaknesses and act accordingly." Ultron said moving in to strike only to find his attack missing. "What?"
"You believe you know all that is going to happen. What a coincidence...I know the same as you." Hakurou said as a third eye opened on his forehead. "Care to try again?"
"He has a third eye too." Ajna said in surprise.
"Martial Master…" Lycan said. "It's the name of his Unique Skill."
"Martial Master?" Ajna asked.
"Trust me...none of the weapon users here would last long against him." Theo said.
"Well...care to try again...self proclaimed ultimate being?" Hakurou asked.
Ultron got up and cast his cape off as his mouth glowed red. "I will stain this chamber with your ash and blood."
Ultron then fired another laser, but Hakurou vanished just as it hit him.
"Where did he…?" Ultron asked.
"In truth...the present hasn't caught up to you yet. It should be apparent soon." Hakurou said standing next to him. As Ultron attempted to grab him, the sword was drawn as it met Ultron's neck, slicing off his head as the body fell lifeless.
"What….What?!" Ultron thought as the old man collected the Mind Stone from the robot's head.
"Well...in the end...he was not anything special to remember." Hakurou said.
"Remind me never to get on his bad side." Ghost-Spider said.
"Seconded." Ethox said. "I'm probably gonna have to spar with him someday."
"Such strength, it's like watching Zangetsu fight." Miriam said.
"Now then...I believe we still need three more of these stones?" he asked.
"Oh..uh...right." Hope said.
"Yep. We're only halfway there." Sectonia said.
"Let's keep this pace up." Zephyr said.
