Chapter 532: The Ace Op. Leader.
( December 30. Royal Fortress.)
All members of the Royal Defenders are all gathered, though Sergei is not there for some reason.
They all see GLADIS surface her head. " Hello everyone, Martin McKenzie is waiting for all of you in the med bay and Clover Elbi, is now awake. "
"Thanks for the info GLADIS" said Lincoln. They all make their way into the med bay and walk down the halls.
"What are the odds he's gonna be upset about what's been happening?" asked Leon.
"Chances of those is a possibility" said Peter. "But, we'd have to break it down slowly to him, we don't want him pissed off or something. Also, he might not like what happened when he fought Qrow and Tyrian."
"All of this is coming so fast, and just when the month is about to come to a close too" said Linka.
"Let's just calm down, and just check on the guy and how he's doing" said Jordan. "We have to try and get on his good side. Remember, we're about to see the man whose been out for nearly over a month, and is the leader of the Special Ace Ops team of Huntsman for Atlas and was under the command of General James Ironwood."
They hear Boomer talking, but with his mouth full of marshmallows it was not easy to hear him.
"Does anyone here understand moron?" asked Sam.
Boomer then swallows all the marshmallows in his mouth. "I said, if we tell him he might be reasonable and we have yet to know if he'll be okay with what's been happening. You guys did have the same with Penny when she came here, remember?"
"Boomer, that one was literally different" replied Lori. "This is not an android, this is a man who was a part of Ironwood and his martial law."
Lincoln then readies his weapon. "We cannot expect him to be reasonable guys, all we can only expect when he might go rogue. Let's try and recap something else. Where the heck are we?"
They all recall, they are all onboard the Royal Fortress and this place is a heavy duty naval siege and military assault and aerial support naval fortress of a weapon, the whole thing can travel through the cosmos and be able to get into anything of FutureTech weapon or invention, such as aircraft, vehicles, super weapons, ships and robotics, such as Penny Polendina.
And through this, it also commands the resource transport for the forces sending more forces to defend and save Mantle and also try and breech Atlas and let's also recall that the man in charge is there as well. The only man who can breach the powerful force field holding the relic safe, even the power of the Winter Maiden is gonna have it hard, the barrier is magic and tech and also a form of Infinity stone might.
Lincoln sees them all silent and all of them ready their powers and weapons. "Alright, now that we all know what we're gonna be up against. Safeties on."
They all make it to the med bay and then they see him, the man who's wide awake and looking alright with himself.
Name: Clover Elbi.
Occupation: Leader of the Ace Operatives, member of the Special Operatives, Huntsman, Atlesian Military and part of General Ironwood's group.
Other descriptions: standing at 6'3 and is left handed, he has brown hair and teal green eyes. His aura color is turquoise, his most recognizable accessories are a Rabbit's Foot, Horseshoe and a Clover Badge.
He is a loyal member to his team and would give his life to keep his team and everyone safe, he can be trustworthy and always safe guards his heart of sharing his emotions of the past. When he does betray, he has regret for being cold to his allies, and would do whatever he can to make things right.
Weapons and skills: A horseshoe for throwing attacks, expert fighter.
Kingfisher – an iron fishing pole with a large hook on its tip. The weapon's almost entirely silver of color and its reel appears to be stylized like a guns barrel and is a collapsible weapon. It's used as a melee weapon and as a grappling tool for any situation.
Semblance: Good fortune – allows Clover to manipulate probability positively. This semblance is constantly active, thereby constantly causing good fortune wherever he goes. Now that is awesome!
Teammates: Vine Zeki, Elm Ederne, Harrier Bree and Marrow Amin.
Right now the man is sitting on the bed, with the large bandaging to his chest and wearing a white hospital gown. Right now Martin is in the room with him and both are enjoying some nice hot cocoa.
Clover looks to the team. "Hello everyone, so these are the Royal Defenders I heard about?"
They all don't seem quite okay with him being awake and are kinda cautious about what he might do next.
Martin sees they're powers and weapons are ready. "Guys, stand down. Clover is a friendly, I already debriefed him of the situation at hand."
They lower their weapons and power down. Lincoln goes forward, he then salutes to Clover. "A pleasure to meet you, Clover Elbi. I believe you heard who I am."
Clover salutes back. "I do, Martin here told me and believe me when I say, and I did not need to wake up in panic or even act aggressive, I knew I was somewhere safe, but I didn't expect this."
Victor then comes in. "The dudes not wrong. I was here when he woke up and he seemed calm and he asked me where his badge is. Sadly, it's not here. But we did manage to get his weapon, Kingfisher."
Jack Cyber also walks in. "Right now, even though he seems fit to walk, we can't risk anymore movement to his body. That blow from Qrow's scythe which was caused by Tyrian Gallows did a number of damage to his chest and was inches from his heart, but did critical damage to his left lung."
"The nano-healers are still doing work on healing him and it would take time to do so, they have never healed anyone with an aura or semblance before, so I don't know when he'll fully heal. We'll have to keep monitoring the nano-healers almost all the time. But, thankfully, his aura is fully regenerated and will help in healing his body."
Clover sighs. "Well, I guess that gives me time to catch up on this world and what it has." He then looks to the Royal Defenders. "Thanks, for bringing me here."
"Wasn't us, it was Gwen and Boomer" said Sam.
Gwen smirks. "We had to get you some medical attention, and all while Boomer handled Tyrian."
Boomer finished eating. "The son of a bitch was tough, well not so tough, but he did try to fight me and even tried to kill me. I still got his tail mounted on my wall too." He tosses some marshmallows and Clover uses his mug of hot cocoa to catch them.
"Thanks, glad my semblance is still intact." He then takes a sip of his drink. "Also, I was told about what's happening to Mantle."
They were all worried about what he would say. "And, what do you think?" asked Leni.
Clover sighs. "Honestly, I don't know anymore. My team is now under command of Winter Schnee and General Ironwood, and all of Atlas is planning to leave Mantle to be in ruin, and leave Remnant with the relic. But I know it's wrong."
"We can't just leave and let the people in Remnant to suffer in the hands of this Grimm queen. I swore an oath to follow orders and commands, but I also swore to keep those who I call friends and the innocent people safe. Though I don't really have a knack of making friends, I see most of my team as friends."
"I know they are rethinking of what's going on with General Ironwood, but they have to stick to orders and theirs is to do as the General says. I know that Winter is starting to see the situation at hand and I just couldn't believe that Ironwood would kill one of the council members, he really has lost it."
"The guy lost it back when Amity fell and the rest of Beacon and Veil" replied Neil.
"Which leaves us in question, which side are you on?" asked Linka.
Clover knows this is serious. "The side that wants to keep the folks safe. I'm with you guys, as Penny was as well and I am grateful you guys brought her back to help, now she's the Winter Maiden and she has to do what she has to do to keep the folks safe and sound."
"A lot of folks are happy to be saved from heroes who are against Ironwood and his martial laws, I just wish I can make it up to the Huntsmen teams, Qrow and Robyn. I was just….."
They all finish the sentence. "Following orders. We know."
Clover sighs. "Not an easy task for me to just let go of the orders General Ironwood gave me and my team, I did what I had to and deep down, I regret it so much and I know that Qrow had nothing to do with my death, it may have been his weapon, but it wasn't him."
They all smile hearing this. "Do you know about the plan?" asked Jordan. GLADIS does arrive and serves them some hot cocoa and Boomer gives them some marshmallows.
Clover then drinks his hot cocoa. "Of course, which involves releasing the Grimm from Salem's control. You know, I always thought Grimm were always the independent type of creatures, but I never knew they were much of a hive mind type of animals. Still the first plan might work, Martin told me of the Megoliath here on the Fortress."
Martin chuckles. "Grimm alpha Megoliath."
Clover smirks. "Right, right, and when we free the Grimm from control of Salem, we then get the Guardian alongside his new ally to combat Salem and then extract the relic and then keep it from Ironwood's reach. I don't know if this plan will work, but it's a long shot of a plan that might make it possible and keep the enemy at bay."
Luna chuckles and asks. "We?"
Clover smiles. "Yup, I'm in on it as well. When I recover and when the time is right for us to go back to Mantle, then I'm with you guys, all the way and perhaps I can reason with the Ace Ops and possibly all of Atlas."
They all smile hearing this. "Glad to have you onboard and we look forward to when we train with you, you seem like the teaching type of guy."
Clover chuckles. "Just you wait guys, when I'm done here. Then the real fun begins."
"I look forward to it as well." Gyro comes out of the shadows and everyone is startled, that Lincoln blasts him with an icicle shot to the forehead.
Gyro looks to the icicle shot to his forehead. "Yeah, I shouldn't have startled you guys. My bad." He then removes it. "Thank god I'm immortal and can't die."
But you can still feel pain" replied Boomer.
Clover then looks to Jack Cyber. "So, where is my weapon anyway?"
"At the moment, we're trying to see what modifications we can do to the Kingfisher, we're planning to add some more customs to make it more efficient for combat and tactical use. Don't worry, it'll be in good hand and we're sure you'll love what we did to it" said Jack Cyber. "Also, this is yours."
He then hands the man his horseshoe and clover takes it and smirks. "Never thought I'd see this old thing again, thank you, all of you and when this is all done, then we can get to training and I look forward to fighting alongside you through many battles, until the time comes for us to go back to save Mantle and Atlas."
They all begin to talk to each other, while Gyro and Martin speak outside. "So, what was the word on Atlas?" asked Gyro.
"As of now, I am sending GST thrusters to the Amity Coliseum, they intend to send a transmission to all of Remnant, so they may be able to tell everyone about Salem, her associates, all the trouble that links to her and of course, how much of a paranoid dick Ironwood has become" replied Martin.
The Hercules transports have already left yesterday alongside some SCV backup to weld it in place, and some relay teams to help establish control of the whole tower and make sure it's stable and unharmed by anything, but I have a bad feeling something is wrong, almost like Salem has her hands on someone she's been after."
Gyro also senses this, but is unsure. "I have that feeling too, but we mustn't waste time on what Salem has in her clutches. The Relic in Veil is still unknown on the whereabouts and as of now the lamp of knowledge is in her possession which we must reclaim, the one relic that we might be able to save is the staff itself."
"And I assume that you have a plan to get the lamp from Salem's giant flying whale base?" asked Martin.
"Yes, yes I do and it might be risky, but it will be worth it" said Gyro.
They watch as the Royal Defenders interact with Clover and tells him of the town of Royal Woods and Great Lakes City, and how the Faunus and the people of Mantle are doing.
Now Clover is interested in seeing the people of Mantle again and how they might be doing, but he'll have to wait and chances he'll get to meet Sienna Khan and see the new White Fang police force.
But the one thing he is looking forward to, is fighting alongside this next generation of hardened heroes and returning to save him home of Mantle and Atlas. He'll wait, he has a lot to train and get ready for whatever battles are ahead of them.
Something Penny did.
Then Sergei arrives into the med bay. "Hey guys, what did I miss? Oh, Clover is awake, that's nice."
They all look to him confused. "Dude, where the heck have you been?" asked Sam.
"Hell" replied Sergei as he also drinks a mug of hot cocoa.
"We know that, but that was yesterday" said Linka. "Where the heck were you today?"
"Yeah, Loona wasn't with you in the mansion either and same with the pups" said Leon.
"Oh, we went to visit her friend at the Goetia palace" said Sergei. "We're gonna have some guests here soon, in the form of the Goetia royal demon family."
They all remain silent at what he just said. "What?!"
Clover is confused and he drinks his hot cocoa. "Wow. Awake and already going to see some new things, things just got a whole lot intense. Also, he's choking."
They all see Boomer, choking on a marshmallow, so they ignore him. He'll be fine.

A/N: Welcome to the Team, Clover Elbi and we look forward to training with him too, and soon they will be introduced to a royal demon family from the series of " Helluva Boss!" but, we have New Year's to look forward to first, something I did last year.
