Chapter 579: Happy B-Day Hope.
(Pertland Mansion.)
The date is now February 16, and this is now the 13th birthday of their new friend since last month, Hope Pertland and the whole thing is set in the mansion and they invited so many of their friends.
From their friends at the Middle School, and a few members of the Royal Defenders. Most aren't there because they're busy with something else.
The food looks good and the whole mansion looks nice as the setup is something that is almost as fancy and large as Jordan's mansion, in face it's not too far from the Rosato mansion, just five blocks away.
Everyone talks and interacts with each other and Hope Pertland is going through her tablet and is a bit upset. "Hope, you feeling okay?" She turns around and sees that it's Lincoln, Linka and Jordan. "You seem upset, what's wrong?" asked Linka.
"Yeah, this is your 13th birthday, you should be… This is about your bestie Gretchen isn't it?" asked Jordan.
Hope sighs. "Yeah, she said she was gonna video chat me, to greet me a happy birthday and I did the same for her the other day and we had a nice conversation, but now she's not doing the same and this is making me concerned. I don't know if something bad happened to her."
They can tell that this is upsetting her and so Lincoln secretly sends a message to Martin at FutureTech.
Lincoln: Martin, please send some installation and maintenance forces at Tuscola and see if there's something wrong with the landlines services located at where Gretchen Warwick is. Please hurry.
Lincoln then looks to Hope. "Well, maybe you can have some fun with us and the gang, we can play some games or do something else fun if you want. Anything in your mind?"
Hope then has an idea. "Maybe we can... Hang on, let me ask my mom and dad." She goes to look for her parents, and the rest of the middle school kids follow her, they don't know what this is about.
They soon see the grownups talk to each other in the dining room and they see the Pertland parents.
Jacob Pertland – Brown hair made into a military buzz cut and a mustache, stands at the same height a Lynn Sr and is wearing a black suit with a white shirt underneath and brown pants with a flower patterned belt. He is the new manager to the Royal Woods First bank and is also a lawyer for hire, like his friend Mr. Warwick.
Daisy Pertland – Long light brown hair, wearing red lipstick and makeup. Wearing a red blouse and velvet zipper jacket, dark blue skirt and black heeled shoes. She is the manager of the gleaming home hotel that is outside of town.
"Mom. Dad." Hope goes towards them and she hugs her mom and dad and they hug her back.
"What's the problem darling?" asked Daisy. "You don't look so happy."
Hope then asks them. "Is it okay if I can bring my friends to the backyard, I just had some trouble with… Well, my friend and I don't know if she'll even video chat me. Can I take my friends to the backyard to show them what we have kept safe and hidden?"
Jacob and Daisy smile and nod. "Sure thing Hope, go ahead." Jacob looks to all the kids. "Try and be careful and don't make the guests staying in the backyard nervous, please."
They all nodded, but they have no clue what this is even about, they then follow Hope to the backyard and they leave all the grownups to themselves, the teenagers such as Luna, Sam, Leni and Sunset follow them to see what this was about.
Leon looks to Jacob and Daisy. "What the heck is going on in the backyard?"
Jacob smirks. "Sorry, but maybe when the time comes, then you guys can know. But for now, let the kids have some fun in checking out what the backyard has in store for them all."
This is still confusing, but they accept it. "So, tell me. The hotel you run, have there been any mishaps?" asked Ember.
Daisy sighs. "A few. Sometimes some bikers come by and wanna stay in the place, but they can get rowdy and we try to tell them to calm down and keep quiet, but they refuse and we can't do anything or we'll be in trouble with them."
"We've had so many guests leave and they don't plan to come back until the whole biker thing is dealt with. It's very bad for business and they keep breaking so many things, and at this point, I think they plan to come back again and… Try to take over the whole hotel."
Jacob speaks next. "I'm planning to contact a friends of mine from the National Guard and hopefully he can be able to help us before it gets out of hand, or we'll have no choice but to shut down the entire hotel. But we fear it would anger the biker gang even more."
This sounded like a major concern and they all look to Neil, Leon, Peter, Ember, Gwen and Boomer. They wanted to know what they're gonna do.
Neil nods. "We'll see what we can do, and when the time comes, we'll come and we'll handle this crisis. Your hotel might not be within Royal Woods range, but it's still a place where folks are getting harmed and disturbed and we're not gonna let this slide."
They're in and they'll have to tell Lincoln and the others about this crisis.
Chances they're gonna have to do this whole biker issue tomorrow and they might need some backup to face this annoying threat to the hotel.
(With the others in the backyard.)
All the kids are surprised by what they see. Hope then goes to the backyard and the large garden and she greets the creatures living there. "Hello everyone, glad to see me again?"
Now the backyard is amazing with the flower garden and that it neighbors the forest near the western side of the town, and it also has this large lake nearby which means the backyard is massive and that the Pertland's own this massive land, but that's not what surprises the kids and teens.
Her backyard is filled with tons of small Pokémon. Let's see what we can find, shall we?
Diglet, Pichu, Dedene, Plusle and Minun, Togedemaru, Emolga, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Totodile, Chikorita, Cyndaquill, Mudkip, Torchic, Snivy, Turtwig, Oshawott, Tepig, Chespin, Fennekin, Froakie, Fletchling, Pidgey, Starly, Pidove, Vulpix from either Kanto or Alola, Oddish, Eevee, Bellsprout, Tangela, Iggly Buff, Happiny, Azurill, Sunkern, Phanpy, Hoppip and their evolutions, Bonsly, Wooper, Dunsparce and Swinub.
Aipom, Spoink, Flabébé, Combee, Minccino, Pikipek, Cutiefly, Bunnelsby, Tympole, Pachirisu, Rowlet, Scatterbug, Bounsweet, Wurmple, Caterpie, Whismur, Skitty, Buneary, Budew, Cherubi and Cherrim.
And they even see some Pokémon straight from the Galar Region are there: Grookey, Scorbunny, Sobble, Rookidee, Wooloo, Morpeko and a formation of Falinks, which are the ones who go towards Hope Pertland and she seems happy to see them and kneels down to greet them.
"Hey little buddies, did ya miss me?" She then hugs the leader who goes into her arms and she rubs his belly and then lets him go for the next one to be hugged and she rubs his belly and lets him go for the next one to be hugged.
They keep this up and line up for belly rubs.
Everyone else is baffled by this. "Hope… How in the heck did this happen?" asked Sadie.
Hope looks to them and smiles. "I guess it all started when we moved here. We saw how big and nice this place is and then we saw this large backyard and we loved it so, so much… Then came the following day when I saw the little Pokémon going around the place and they seemed to be okay with our presence."
"My parents are fine with it and sometimes the servants go over and they feed them all, but they mostly like it when I'm around." The small Pokémon go towards Hope and she pets them all. "They really like me and I like them."
"Dude, this is awesome. Like, some kind of Pokémon nursery" replied Luna. "But next to the servants guarding here, anything else come by this place?"
Hope then looks to the woods. "There is, besides the Falinks who seem to be good fighters and know how to fend off threats, there's also something in the woods that's big and keeping the place safe, just as long as we treat this land with respect."
"We also get some Pokémon migrating by the place, and they come in the form of Taurus or Kangaskhan and they're okay with us, but we gotta make sure these little guys don't get hurt when they see the larger Pokémon passing by."
"Still… This is just unbelievable!" said Leni. She pets the Bulbasaur and the Chespin. Leni then realizes. "Wait, how come Boomer hasn't known of this? He's in an airship with Katherine Mulligan, how do they not know this place or even seen it?"
Linka then thinks. "I think he has seen this place, but he forgot to mention about it."
Zach smirks. "Classic Boomer. This should be known, or maybe not."
"He's not wrong." Hope gets up while hugging one of the Falinks. "Folks knowing about this might be bad, it could have folks come far and wide to visit the place, Ketcham Park may have Pokémon of all sorts and sizes, but this place is different and I want the Pokémon here to feel less upset with humans."
"They see to leave when they feel like they're ready to go on their own and see the town. This is kinda like… a small school or orphanage, or a home for them until they leave the nest, er land and home."
They all smile hearing this. "We understand Hope, and we all promise that we're not gonna tell anyone" replied Lincoln. He looks to the others. "Right guys?"
The other party guests agree and they don't want this place to be disturbed by other folks, so they won't tell anyone or take any pics and videos, Jenny turns off her camera and she goes over and interacts with the Vulpix.
They all get to go around and check out all of the small Pokémon all over the place. Linka then goes towards Hope who is playing with the Falinks. "So, they kinda your Pokémon companion, or companions?"
Hope smiles. "Yeah, I guess so. They like it when I come over and rub their bellies, they really like it and they always take turns and fall in line to do it again. It's cute, and they're all so cute, and very tough fighters too."
Lincoln smiles. "Glad you found some good company and…" He then gets a text from Martin.
Martin McKenzie: Linc, the maintenance is done, turns out the power blew at the town and so we brought some backup and helped them fix all the power lines.
Lincoln smiles and he sends a thanks to Martin, then he looks to Hope. "Hope, get ready."
Hope is confused by what he said. "Ready? Ready for what?"
Then her tablet vibrates. She checks and sees who it is and is surprised. "Gretchen!" She then goes over and talks to her best friend.
The others smile seeing this, they're glad that Hope got to see her friend and happy that she opened up to this big secret, one that they will keep safe for as long as time gives it.
Jordan looks to her boyfriend. "You called for someone to help get Gretchen Warwick to call her again, didn't you?" The others also look towards Lincoln.
The boy just chuckles. "Now what made you think that? Not like I contacted FutureTech's boss to go and check what the issue is and then have it fixed." They all laugh hearing this.
Then Hope looks to all of them. "Guys, come over and say hello to my best friend from Tuscola and she is a hard core fan of Luna Frost."
Luna chuckles. "Then let me say hello to my fan." They all go over to greet the good friend of Hope, the one who is far away.
Lincoln is about to go there and greet her, but then he gets this message from Neil and he checks what it says.
Neil A. Spellman: Lincoln, tomorrow we got a mission and it involves something outside of town and a crisis with the Pertland's Hotel. So be ready for one hell of a biker brawl.
Lincoln sighs. 'Looks like we got some work to do tomorrow.' He then goes over and greets Gretchen Warwick and she looks exactly like the one from the world they heard about her.
This makes Lincoln, Jordan and Linka think. 'Maybe we can find some way to have Hope and Gretchen be in the same school, they're such good gal pals after all. But how?'
