AN: Just a little project I'm working on. Hope you're interested.

Rito Yuuki is normal.

He has grown up from the rambunctious child in his preschool days to a respected teen bordering on adulthood in a few years. Otherwise known as a First year in high school.

Really, at the start of his life, Rito would have described himself as a free-spirited hero. One who would help out anyone who needed help. He saved cats out of trees, acted as a hero against the fearsome villain that Saruyama would act as, and was kind to everyone.

Unfortunately, Rito's parents were very busy individuals. His father is a mangaka who had to live in his studio to keep up with his deadlines. While his father would ask Rito at times to help out with drawing to meet some deadlines, most of their time together was strictly business only. His mother on the other hand is a successful fashion designer who worked overseas. She only came back rarely during holidays.

This meant that Rito was around his sister, Mikan Yuuki, a lot which Rito didn't mind. He wasn't against spending time with his precious sister, even if that meant doing chores together. He picked up gardening as a hobby to do something around the house that he enjoyed. Rito had to grow up fast to set an example to Mikan while they lived alone in their humble house.

Rito didn't hold anything against his parents for not being around. He knew that he and his sister were loved heavily by both of them. They worked hard at their jobs and Rito was happy that they were happy.

Rito dedicated his time to making the best of any situation he was in. He played around with his buddy, Saruyama, was a dutiful brother to his sister, and he tried to be the best person that he could be.

Then why was he dealing with the Alien Mafia after this girl who calls herself Lala?

The day had started normal enough for Rito.

"Oi, Rito, What's on your mind?" Kenichi Saruyama was a good friend to Rito. Although sometimes his perverseness came at the forefront of his personality, Saruyama was both easy going and quite simply, a childhood friend of Rito's. It'd take a lot to come between the two.

"Nothing much. sigh I better get my homework done before the next class else Yui will scold me."

"She is a part of the disciplinary committee. It's only natural that she would want you to be disciplined." A wide grin began to make its way onto Saruyama's face. "Of course, when did you start calling Kotegawa by her first name? The two of you have been getting close?"

Without blinking Rito said, "We've passed each other in the hallway enough to develop a sort of cordial friendship. Nothing else, believe me."

"I'll believe it when I see it. I should warn you though. Kotegawa may have one of the best figures in the show, but she's waaaay too uptight and strict. You know she confiscated my magazine the other day. My treasure!"

Rito couldn't help but roll his eyes. "If she didn't confiscate your magazine then someone else was going to. You certainly got your fill of swimsuits and suggestive positions before she took it, right?"

"Maaaybe," Saruyama jokingly said before clamming up and as he looked straight into Rito's eyes he said, "Although one cannot look at boobs too much."

Rito sighed. This wasn't their first discussion about Saruyama's obsession with boobs. Rito was apathetic to the topic by this point, not because of the subject matter, but because of who was talking. Rito decided to give Saruyama a hard time by commenting, "I think you should be concerned about landing any date rather than looking at swimsuit models."

Saruyama seemed to be physically hurt by the verbal blow. "Ugh. Too soon Rito. You couldn't have said that another time?"

Rito shrugged. "It's the only way I know how to calm you down."

"By hurting my feelings?!"

Rito just grinned at Saruyama in response.

"Haha. Well if you're going to be that way, I'll just call over Sairenji for sympathy." Saruyama looked over to the front of the classroom where Sairenji sat. With crocodile tears he ran over to her and cried out, "Sairenjiii! Rito is making fun of meeee."

Rito could only chuckle at Saruyama's antics.

Haruna Sairenji is the class rep of Rito's class, an extremely kind and responsible person. That combined with her natural good looks made her very popular among her peers.

Rito mused that it's funny that Saruyama would go to her as he knows that Haruna and him are friends. Of course, given how responsible she is…

"U-um, Yuuki-kun."

Rito was flabbergasted that Haruna might actually tell him off. He winced at the call and readied himself. "Yes, Sairenji-chan?"

Haruna blushed heavily from Rito addressing her and said, "Nothing, just keep Saruyama-kun in line, ok?"

Saruyama fell over in mock pain at Haruna's words. Rito couldn't help but laugh and respond, "Of course. If I didn't, who knows what he would do?"

Saruyama's form seemed to dwindle in size as he shakingly got back to his desk and asked, "What is this? Pick on Saruyama day?"

Rito just laughed harder and Saruyama couldn't help but join in.

"I'm back home," Rito announced when he entered his home.

"Oh? How was school Rito," asked Mikan Yuuki, Rito's younger sister. If you asked Rito, she's a sassy brat that tries to act older than she is. He does love her though, as any brother should.

Just don't tell Mikan that he said that though.

"Fine. The work is manageable. What about you?"

"School is a little annoying as usual. I got called out by a classmate who confessed his love for me. It was the third time this week that I probably shouldn't have responded poorly but I did."

Rito raised an eyebrow. "Poorly? What'd you do to the guy?"

Mikan looked embarrassed by her actions. "U-uh, I may have roughly told him that I already had a crush on someone."

"What's wrong with that? Seems like a normal thing to say when you're rejecting someone."

Mikan twiddled her thumbs as she looked away and mumbled, "I sorta yelled it out loud enough for the entire class to hear."

"Pfft. I sympathize with the guy. He didn't deserve that," Rito said between the laughter.

"Riiiiitoooo!" Mikan said, blushing in embarrassment. "You should be feeling sorry for me! Not the guy who asked me out! Where's the overprotective brother inside of you!"

Rito looked back at Mikan, amused. "This overprotective brother will only unleash his fury on the guy who actually becomes your boyfriend, not before."

Mikan blankedly looked at her brother. "What about that time you made sure the friend's house I went to was a girl and you wouldn't believe me when I told you so you walked me over to make sure?"

Rito suddenly felt a coughing fit coming on. Between the fake coughs, Rito managed to say, "I don't know what you're talking about."

"Suuuuure."

"I really don't know what you're talking about."

Rito ran away to his room, trying to avoid further interrogation. Mikan just stood in the hallway, staring in the direction of Rito's room before snapping out of her daze, saying, "I wonder what needs cleaning." Rolling up her sleeves, she went to work on her usual chores.

(-)

Finally finishing up with his homework, Rito made his way to his bathroom to rest his weary self with a relaxing bath. Dinner had made him very lethargic so Rito had decided a bath was the best way to let the food sit. Mikan had cooked a large dinner and Rito wasn't skipping out on seconds.

Rito was just thinking about his day at school in contentment. He was satisfied with his day to day lives, but Rito knew that life had its daily plot twist. 'Something new was always sure to throw someone for a loop,' thought Rito.

'Who knows? Maybe my life's plot twist will happen incredibly soon,' mused Rito before he thought shortly after, 'Nahhh. Very unlikely to happen while I'm still in high school. Maybe in college.'

Rito's thought was cut off as a crack in the air appeared only for a second.

Out loud, Rito muttered, "What was that!" The spark expanded and within seconds, the pull of water exploded over the bath. Rito crossed his arms over his face in fear of anything dangerous happening. When the explosion of water faded, the figure of a girl appeared.

Hearing "Escape successful", Rito opened his eyes to see the beautiful nude form of an otherworldly girl that he couldn't believe was in front of him. Long Pink hair, slender form, cute face, and bountiful bre- Rito looked away in embarrassment before he lost all his senses.

Shakingly getting out of the bath, Rito got a towel and covered himself up quickly. He tossed a towel to the unknown girl and said, "Please put this on and go to the living room when you're done doing so." Rito immediately retreated out to his room and got dressed. He yelled over to Mikan to come to the living room.

'I guess I found my plot twist,' Rito thought.

(-)

Mikan stared down at the strange beautiful woman who, clad in only a bath towel, was sitting on the couch in her living room. 'The fact that Rito called me out here just to show off his girlfriend is… aggravating to say the least,' thought Mikan.

"So? You finally hooked up with someone? Congratulations, I guess," Mikan said, shrugging with a frown.

"What are you talking about? I called you here to help me find out what this girl was doing suddenly appearing in the bathtub, naked." Rito was exasperated by Mikan's rushed conclusion. Lala just looked at the two with a curious look on her face.

Mikan just gave a tired look as she hid her head in her hands "Ugh, this sounds like a wet dream you had, Rito and not a real event. I mean a random attractive girl dropping themselves into such a convenient place where you would also be naked." Mikan was just done with the series of events. With a calm voice, Mikan asked the girl, "Could you shed some light on our predicament?"

"Sure!" The seemingly bubbly girl stood from the couch and pointed at herself. "I'm Lala! I'm from the Planet Deviluke!"

"Uh what? An alien?" The two siblings questioned in unison. Rito saw some black spade object wave around this Lala girl and when he saw where it connected-

"Y-you have a tail! You really are an alien, huh," Rito deduced.

Lala looked over at her own tail. "Oh, I guess that Earthlings would find tails proof of an alien species." She turned around to further emphasize the legitimacy of the tail.

"O-oi, turn back around. You shouldn't be giving a free show to Rito!" Mikan could sense the embarrassment from Rito, even if he subdued his blush.

Mikan whispered "pervert" before continuing the interrogation. "So you're an alien then. Why are you here and why did you show up in our bathtub?"

"I'm being chased," Lala said. "I got here with my trusty 'Pyon Pyon' Warp-kun, an invention of mine, which can teleport me anywhere for a short distance." With a sad smile she added, "I hope you don't mind me hiding out here for now. I didn't exactly get to choose where I teleported."

"You're fine to stay here for now," Rito said with a comforting smile. 'I just hope we don't get hurt because she's with us. If she's being chased after, it might get dangerous,' thought Rito. "Why were you naked when you teleported away, though?"

Lala shook her head. "Pyon Pyon Warp-kun can't teleport clothes. I'm still working out a lot of kinks with my inventions teehee," Lala said, hitting her head lightly with a giggle.

Mikan looked disturbed by that knowledge and Rito just facepalmed, saying . "Anyway, are you able to tell us why you're being chas-"

Before Rito could finish his sentence, a small robot somehow opened the door and went directly in Lala's direction, hugging her.

"Lala-sama! I found you! I found you!"

"Peke! I'm so glad you could escape too!"

The two exchanged greetings confused Rito. "What is that thing?" Rito said.

"Oh, this is Peke! He's a robot I made!"

"A robot?" Mikan inquired. 'It seems that alien technology is beyond that of humans,' thought Mikan.

"Yep, he's an 'all-purpose-costume' robt, specifically!" Lala was proud of her invention that made her friend, Peke.

"Ah, so he can get you clothes?" Rito inquired.

"Close. He is my clothes. Peke do your thing!" Lala said, throwing the bath towel away. Rito blushed at her boldness, but didn't need to look away as Peke merged with Lala instantly to form some ehem tight-fitting clothing. Lala made sure to check if everything fit right without being too tight.

"Now that that's over with, can you tell us why you're being chas-

Again, Rito was interrupted, but this time instead of a little robot, 2 men in black suits burst through the window and the door, breaking both of them. They cornered Lala and stared at her expectantly.

'I guess they are the ones chasing her. Think Rito. Think! How do I get them to back off?' Rito thought.

While Lala complained about Peke leading the men in black to her, Rito surveyed the situation and quickly came up with a plan.

"Are you going to come without fuss?" one of the men said.

"No way! I won't go back!" Lala said.

"Then you're going to make us make you move you by force!" the other man shouted.

"Can everyone just calm down!" Rito shouted. With that question, everyone turned to me.

The more aggressive man said, "Don't interfere with our business, Earthling."

"When you two are in my house trying to take a girl somewhere where she obviously doesn't want to go? Yeah, you'd have better luck asking me to drop dead." Rito had a plan, but it was a plan under the assumption that the aliens knew each other. "Unless you want to fall victim to one of Lala's inventions, then I think we should all sit down and discuss this more civilly!" The two men flinched at that statement and Lala brightened up from it.

"Fine!" one of the men said and with that the two sat down and began their case. "Lala-sama, why do you keep trying to run away from home!"

'W-wait, Lala is getting chased by her own lackeys?' Rito thought in disbelief.

"Because I'm tired of always having to go meet every future husband candidate in the galaxy! Just because I'm his heir doesn't mean that I should be forced to marry just for papa's sake!"

While the two sides argued back and forth, Mikan whispered to Rito, "This is crazy! What're we supposed to do?"

Rito said, "Just let me handle this. I have a few ideas on how to smooth things over."

"I don't care what papa thinks! He doesn't dictate my life!" Lala adamanently said.

"Since that is what Lala wants, her father should respect that. You guys are going to have to leave unless you can change her mind," Rito said before quickly whispering to Lala, "Back me up here."

Lala smiled and said, "Yep yep! Unless you want me to call Gogo Vacuum-kun, then you two should just go back to papa and tell him that I'm not going to come back!"

The two lackeys flinched once more since they knew how volatile Lala's inventions can be. "B-but, if we go back with nothing, we'll be held responsible!"

"Then just report to your superior that they need to come down and help with negotiations. We can even handle it tonight, just come back with him."

The two lackeys thought about it and agreed to come back. Once they left, I let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding in.

"Were you thinking up all of that on the fly? How'd you know that they would back off with the mention of Lala's inventions?" Mikan asked.

"It was only a guess from what I knew off of Lala." Rito said.

"You only met me today. How did you know that they might be afraid of my inventions." Lala was curious about this guy's deductions.

"You already showed us your teleportation device and Peke, a sentient-seeming robot. In essence, you've already shown us that you have incredible talent for inventing albeit with some minor problems." Rito said, thinking back to Pyon Pyon Warp-kun's flaw. "I saw the tails off of the two men so I knew that they were your same species, so I thought maybe they'd be aware of your talent and maybe you've invented some… dangerous things."

Blushing from the praise, Lala stuck out her tongue and giggled. "That was really smart of you!"

"Thanks. It was about all I could do." Rito said. "Oh! Where are my manners? In the rush of it all I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Rito and this is Mikan," I said, gesturing to the two of us.

"Hehe, nice to meet ya!"

"As crazy as all this is, it's nice to meet you too," Mikan said, keeping the pleasantries.

"So," Rito called out to Lala, "Do you have any idea who they're going to bring to retrieve you and if they could be persuaded to let you go?"

Lala hesitated to answer, but muttered, "They're probably going to bring Zastin, the number one swordsman on Deviluke."

"The number one swordsman? To negotiate?" Rito asked.

Lala gave a tired smile, "He might be a little daft. But he's incredibly loyal to papa. It'd take a good reason for him to back off." Lala suddenly seemed to brighten up.

"Hmm? Did you think of something," asked Mikan.

Lala looked a little meek to say her idea, but she shook off her nervousness and said, "The only way I can think for Zastin to leave me alone is if I follow through with papa's orders."

Rito looked worried. "But wouldn't that mean marrying someone you don't even like? Don't you want to be free from it all?"

Lala's smile widened at Rito's words. "I wouldn't have to leave if I got engaged to you Rito!"

Rito and Mikan were shocked by her statement. Mikan immediately started to bring up a refusal, but Rito put a hand on her shoulder. Mikan seemed to plead with her eyes at Rito as the two held a silent conversation. After a few seconds, Mikan backed off and sat at the other couch, grumpily.

"Lala, why would you want to enter an engagement with me? I may have been able to help somewhat with your situation, but that doesn't mean you should marry m-"

"YOU WERE THE ONLY ONE!" Lala shouted.

"W-what?"

"You were the only one who understood my situation and tried to help me. NONE of the hundreds of suitors tried ONCE to understand me!" Lala got up from her seat and walked to Rito so that they were face-to-face. "When I thought of marrying you initially, I thought it would be more short term until I ran away again, but you worrying about my freedom? That sealed the deal for me that it wouldn't be so bad to marry you. Scratch that, it made me want to marry you!"

'Lala's heartfelt declaration makes it hard to turn down. Hell, her pleading puppy eyes are drawing me in even now,' Rito mused.

Mikan decided to cut in. "Well I don't think this conversation needs me anymore. I'm going to bed, so tell me how this all ends." Mikan went to her room with a heavy and confused heart.

Rito's eyes didn't stray from Lala's even with Mikan's departure. After some quick-thinking, Rito looked away and muttered, "Ok, I'll marry you."

"You will!" Lala said, excitedly.

"Y-yes, I will. It'd be rude to refuse your request and it's not like you have much choice with your father's dumb rules. Just know that if you ever want to break it off, you are perfectly free to do so. This would be for the rest of our lives, afterall."

"Dummy," whispered Lala. "If you say thoughtful stuff like that, it'll just make me fall in love with you further."

"T-that was not my intention," muttered Rito, whose face was slowly turning all red.

"Ehehe, I guess we're just super compatible, huh?"

"Maybe?" Rito felt that everything was moving too fast. He hadn't even had a girlfriend yet and now he had a fiance already? It was all unreal.

Suddenly a hulking armored figure was in the house, specifically at the doorway.

"Z-Zastin? Are you crying?" Lala asked.

"My apologies for eavesdropping, Lala-sama, but I couldn't help but hear of your love for this Earthling. I was told that I was needed to negotiate your return to your father, but I can't do it, breaking up this pure love!" Rito somehow felt that he was going to blush further from this Zastin's fellow's embarrassing speech.

"I will adhere to my duty and report this to King Deviluke. Lala will be entrusted to you, so treat her well. She's the princess of the entire universe, so her life is greater than yours!" Zastin spoke harshly as he prepared for his leave as quickly as his entrance.

'Wait, princess of the universe!?' thought Rito. 'I didn't know she was that important!."

"I warn you, lord Rito, Lala-sama's husband candidates will probably not take kindly to the news, so be prepared. If you are to become the king's successor, then this should prove it! Protect Lala-sama!"

"I will!" Rito said, solemnly. 'I don't know about being king of the universe, but I will do my best for Lala. I may have not known her for long, but already she's made a big impression on me, enough for me to be ok with marrying her. Maybe I shouldn't have been too hasty with all this… nahhh.' thought Rito.

With Rito's confirmation, Zastin exited the house, seemingly disappearing in the night.

Rito felt a certain amount of bounciness on him when he felt Lala embrace him with a crushing bear hug. "Thank you Rito! Thank you thank you thank you…"

While Lala wouldn't stop thanking him, she failed to account for her enhanced traits that was her Devilukean strength.

As Rito was crushed under the hug, he thought, 'As much as things are never going to be the same again, I don't think I'll miss i-Ow! How is a girl that cute strong enough to crush my ribcage!'
