Seb stepped off the plane taking a big stretch.
"Uhh, I can't believe we have to fly coach." Seb complained.
"Oh get over yourself, not all of us can afford a private jet and boat." Chloe countered.
"Seriously Chloe, can we talk to you dad about at least not getting the cheapest seats available?" Serena said, moving her shoulder.
"I don't know what your guy's problem is." Ash said stepping off the plane. He had on some mid calf length boots, blue jeans, a white tee shirt, and a red variant of the team jacket. His hair just grazing his shoulders.
"You can curl up in one of those chairs, some of us aren't that lucky." Seb pointed out.
"Fair, maybe I can put some of my winnings towards better seats next time." Ash offered.
"Thanks." Serena said, wrapping her arms around Ash.
"Not now, we have work to do." Ash said coldly. "Chrysa said the spikes were happening in the northern part of the wild area, so that's where we should head first."
As the four trainers flew over the wild area, Ash looked below at all the Pokémon there. Something in the distance caught his eye.
"Hey guys, I'm going to check something out, I'll keep you posted." Ash said, redirecting Charizard westward.
Upon landing, Ash saw a large tree had fallen on a bridge, stranding several Pokémon too small to swim.
"Okay, Marshtomp, I need your help with this." Ash said tossing out a Pokeball.
Marshtomp took some of the smaller Pokémon in groups to the mainland, as Ash and Charizard helped with the bigger ones. A few minutes later, and the island looked pretty clear.
"Is that everyone?" Ash asked, checking some bushes.
"Fant." A voice called out.
"Hey there." Ash said approaching it. It was an orangeish elephant like Pokémon. "What's your name?" Ash said pointing his phone at Charizard behind the Pokémon.
'Cufant the Copperderm Pokémon, a steel type.' His rotom phone explained.
The Cufant was curled up, holding one of its legs.
"Can I see it, I might be able to help." Ash said extending his hand.
Cufant moved their foot, showing it had been hurt, nothing major thankfully.
"Here, this is going to sting a little, but you'll feel much better." Ash said pulling out a Hyper Potion. "Now hold still."
Cufant momentarily winced as the medicine was applied to their wound.
"There, all better. Now how about we help you get off this island?" Ash said with a smile.
Finally having made sure every Pokémon was off the island, Ash made a mental note to let someone know about the broken bridge, before getting back on Charizard. It wasn't hard to find where the other were, even from the air it's hard to miss a Corvinight, Xatu, and Mandibuzz.
"Hey Ash, what happened?" Serena asked, going over to him.
"A bridge collapsed, some Pokémon were stranded." Ash said. "Where's Seb and Chloe."
"They left to look around." Serena said.
"Hey, I'm back." Chloe said running up to them.
"And she's not alone." Seb said, trailing behind.
"Did you find anything?" Serena asked.
"Pretty big crater just north of here." Chloe said, showing some photos.
"Nice lip gloss." Ash laughed, seeing the slight sparkle on Seb's lips.
"What, are you going to give me tips on them?" Seb said coldly.
"Only if you ask nicely." Ash joked. "Okay, so we have a strange crater, seems like as good a place as any to start."
"You wouldn't happen to be Ash Ketchum, would you?" A man's voice asked.
"Yes, who are you?" Ash asked seeing the strange looking man with the odd hairstyle.
"My name is Sordward, and I'd like to challenge the so-called hero chosen by Zacian to a battle." Sordward said.
"The crater isn't going anywhere." Chloe said.
"Alright then, let's battle!" Ash said.
"Sirfetch'd come forth." Sordward called out.
"Pikachu, I choose you!" Ash called.
"Sirfetch'd use Meteor Assault."
"Pikachu use Quick Attack!"
Pikachu sped forward, striking Sirfetch'd's shield, knocking it off balance.
"Sirfetch'd use Leaf Blade."
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"
Pikachu sent a bolt of electricity flying towards Sirfetch'd's leek, zapping the bird out of the fight.
"Just a minor setback." Sordward said recalling his Pokémon. "Golisopod, come out."
"A minor setback, I've seen beginner trainers fair better against Ash and Pikachu." Chloe commented.
"Golisopod use X Scissor."
"Pikachu use Iron Tail!"
Pikachu's tail landed between the claws of Golisopod, both attacks having canceled each other out.
"Haha! I've bested your attack, you peasant." Sordward said.
"Think again, Pikachu hit them again!" Ash called out.
Pikachu spun in the reverse direction, an Iron Tail smacking Golisopod into the air, and retreating to its Pokeball, for a Bisharp to take its place.
"Do you want to stop? Or should we keep going?" Ash asked, feeling sorry for this trainer.
"I am a rightful King of Galar, I will not back down to some child." Sordward proclaimed. "Bisharp use Night Slash."
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!" Ash called out.
Surprisingly Bisharp managed to withstand the attack, and even land its own attack on Pikachu.
"Bisharp use Stone Edge."
"Pikachu use Discharge!"
As quick as the stones jutted up from the ground, electricity swirled around them, finding another direction to move.
"Bisharp use Iron Head."
"Pikachu use Quick Attack!"
The Pokémon charged at each other, Pikachu having been sent flying from the attack.
"You okay buddy?" Ash asked running up to Pikachu.
"Pika." Pikachu whined, holding its head.
"You take it easy, we've got it from here. Alright Charizard, time to show them real power!"
"Bisharp use Stone Edge."
"Charizard use Flamethrower!"
Charizard flew above the stones, laying fire all across the area, Bisharp was not left standing after the sweep.
"Bisharp return. Doublade, take care of them with Sacred Sword."
"Charizard use Flamethrower!"
The Doublade tried its best to move around Charizard to hit it, but Charizard was just as fast in the air, keeping up with every movement.
A loud boom overhead however, interrupted their battle.
"What was that!" Ash and company shouted in shock.
"I believe that would be my brother doing his part. It's so nice you both showed up for this, tata." Sordward said running off.
"What do you mean part, and who else showed up!?" Ash called out after him.
"Ash, we need to find out what happened, people could be in danger." Seb said.
"Right, let's go." Ash agreed.
The loud booms kept going, making it easy to follow the sound of them. Ash couldn't believe his eyes when he saw what was coming.
"Ash, I saw your reports from that day, isn't that?" Chloe asked.
"It is, Eternatus is out." Ash said in horror as the dragon drew near. "Get ready for a fight of legendary proportions!"
Eternatus slammed into the side of the canyon, a rock slide occurring as a result.
"Gotta go big. Gotta go big. Bigger than ever." Ash said, pushing out an aura shield that grew and grew, keeping all the rocks from landing on them.
"It's coming again." Chloe screamed, as another rock slide occurred.
"We need a plan! I can't keep this up forever!" Ash said sweating.
"The Regis!" Chloe and Serena exclaimed grabbing the Pokeballs.
"Get everyone out, we'll blast away the rocks, while Ash uses the opening to go towards Eternatus." Seb said, sending out all of his Pokémon.
"Here they come!" Ash said, as his shield broke.
"Delphox use Fire Blast! Pancham use Arm Thrust! Sylveon use Moonblast! Grookey use Bullet Seed! Mantine use Bubblebeam! Regirock use Hyper Beam!"
"Eevee use Double Edge! Boltund use Wild Charge! Koffing use Gyro Ball! Corvinight use Steel Wing! Araquanid use Hydro Pump! Regice use Ice Beam!"
"Heracross use Focus Punch. Furret use Return. Mamoswine use Ice Beam. Ampharos use Thunderbolt. Xatu use Psychic. Feraligatr use Superpower."
Rock after rock was destroyed, giving the group an opening.
"Guys look out!" Ash shouted, as a larger one that had been missed was heading straight for them.
"Cinderace use Pyro Ball!" A voice called out.
