Sesshoumaru frowned. "The Shikon-no-Tama is known for cruel twists of fate."
"If so, I'd say it missed the mark." Bright amusement. Sweet confidence. "Maybe the Jewel was grateful?"
"To us?"
"To me. I was born with the Jewel inside me."
Sesshoumaru's thoughts stuttered. "Is that… widely known?"
She patted his hand. "You didn't know?"
"Hnn."
"My first day here, a youkai tore it from my body."
Tightening his hold, Sesshoumaru growled, "Show me."
