After getting everything that is necessary and needed for our journey we took the bus that came, and left for our next mission to the mountains where the Strong Hold is. Our stop soon came into our view. Once we got off of the bus I can't help but gaze upon nature's beautiful work in front of me. The fresh air, the birds singing, everything just looked perfect the way it was/
"Woah, now this is a big waste of space." Was the first thing that came out of my idiot of a brother's mouth and I can't help but facepalm at this mentally.
"You know Yusuke, some people like the wilderness. " Botan pointed out and I gave a small nod to myself in agreement.
"Yeah, old hermits and people who don't know how to talk to girls." Yusuke retorted. I was about to just smack him in the head, but the idea was thrown out of the window when my attention was caught by Kuwabara walking ahead without saying a word. "Hey! Where are you going?" My brother demanded as he looked at his punching buddy questioningly. He and Botan shared a look and I just sighed before following the big idiot. "Ugh! This place smells like ass!"
"Well, it's better than your ass." I commented out loud, annoyed with his stupid behaviour while my words earned a small snort from my blue haired assistant.
"SHUT UP SIS!" Yusuke snapped at me. "Anyways, there's no way we're gonna find this house by nightfall."
"This forest looked a lot smaller on the map." Kuwabara commented to himself.
"Come on guys, the other trail goes all the way to the top, I think it's our best bet." Botan informed us as she pointed at the other side of the hill.
"Do we still have to walk?" Yusuke asked or more like complaining like a child.
"Let's go Urameshi!" Kuwabara exclaimed excitedly and now energetic as he began running like the Flash from the movie while screaming nonsense like this. "Wait for me Yukina! Your true love is coming!" Again came the Prince Charming monologue that was filled with too much bull crap.
My brother, Botan, and I just stood on top of that small hill as we just stared at him.
"Well, I guess he's done being in love with Botan or you sis." My brother told me, making me sigh in relief. Good riddance to that.
"Darn." Botan breathed out a little lost.
"Tsk. Like I would cry about it." I snarkily commented as I brushed some stray strands behind my ear.
"What are you guys waiting for?!" Kuwabara shouted after us. "We got a girl to rescue!"
"Shouldn't we tell him about the rest of the video?" My bluenette assistant asked out of the blue, a little unsure of herself.
"Well, I'd hate to ruin his fun." Was all my brother could say before we began to go after the idiot of our group.
I wonder how Hiei's gonna react to that once he finds out about it?
As we were going on our way, I can't help but feel a little nostalgic because this forest reminded me of the dream I had for two long years. Honestly, I kind of miss that in a way, since those visions made me somewhat be in love with nature itself. Now that I think about it, they stopped popping out at night, right after the one I got back when my brother and I were at Genkai's and Yara's training.
Even though I was chasing after my answers, I loved the peaceful vibe and atmosphere the forest was giving, even though it was just created by my imagination.
"Is there something wrong Miyuki?" Botan asked curiously. I just mutely shook my head 'no' and continued on walking, but then I stopped as I felt something approaching us not to far from our area. No, I had my shoes on, but I did have that gut feeling again.
"I'm sensing something really bad." Kazuma announced it to us. Just then the compass on the Grim Reaper started to beep loudly and rapidly.
"Uh, the compass is going crazy." Our assistant informed us all.
"Yeah, well I think I see him." My brother told everyone. On cue, a man with shaggy purple hair and oval black sunglasses walked toward us casually. "Hey, how is it going neighbour?!" Yusuke greeted him sarcastically.
"You're on private property boys and girls." The mysterious guy informed us. "You had better leave." He advised using the voice that sounded more threatening than polite.
"We can't leave, we just got here." Carrot top said to the other guy.
"Yeah, we're lost and the birds ate our bread crumbs." Yusuke told in his own sarcastic language, and I mentally rolled my eye at the reference he just used.
"Pretty please, let us stay at your master's house." My bluenette assistance pleaded in a sweet tone.
"I'm afraid I cannot do that." The man replied smugly. My eyes narrowed at his appearance and I can't help but think that this person is something else. Not human to be more specific.
"Come on." Kuwabara once again tried. "We know he got plenty of room."
"That's right." My brother chimed in agreement. "Those crime lords always have really swank houses." he pointed out making me look at him with anger.
Darn it Yusuke.
"Crime lord?" Questioned the stranger. "Well, you seem to know a lot for being lost." The others slightly gasped at his reply, now realizing their mistake. "Well, you had your chance." Then suddenly he began to change into a different body. Green plant-like skin, tentacle similar to roots, and everything nasty.
"I'll have to make you leave myself. But I'm afraid I'm clumsy." The demonic creature said in a taunting manner before a mouth with razor-sharp teeth opened up on his chest like it was a Venus Fly Trap. "Everyone I touch always ends up getting killed." As he said that he stretched his hand toward us, showing his hand palm that had another mouth wide open and looking hungry. "I really don't know why they keep making me the security guard."
"You're a demon, hired by Tarukane, right?" Kuwabara demanded.
"That's. . . very perceptive of you, and I have orders to kill anyone who comes after Yukina." The demon replied.
"Well, that girl is a type of demon, right?" Yusuke asked. "So doesn't that make you cousins or something?" What a stupid question that he was bold enough to ask.
"Your own kind is being tortured so that no good human you work for can make money! Doesn't that ticks you off?!" Kuwabara began to rant angrily.
"Not at all." Replied the demon with no sympathy what so ever.
"What?" Kuwabara cried out in disbelief.
"It is said that there are humans who will sell their soul to the devil for power, right?" The demon pointed out, making me let out a small growl secretly. "Demons can do it too." Then he laughed maniacally. "Don't try acting all-holy, there isn't one among you who's loyalty couldn't be bought."
"You're pathetic." I finally spoke up, not even hiding the fact that I was disgusted.
"Oh please!" My brother spoke up as he held up his fist that began to charge up with his spirit energy, making it glow blue. "You creeps will say anything to make yourselves feel better."
"You're just trash." Kazuma told the demon as he followed Yusuke's example.
"What did you say?" Demanded the ugly parasite plant demon.
"Didn't you hear it right?" I asked with a raised eyebrow as the edge of my lip curled up to a taunting smirk. "Or you got so carried away that you had to sell your ears off as well?"
"Oh, you will regret this. . . DIE!" With that, he jumped into the air and was ready to strike.
"Sis?" My brother called, questioningly, asking for permission.
"He is all yours, boys." I told him and Carrot-Top, dismissively waving my hand at them. Within seconds, the guy was in pieces by Kuwabara's spirit sword, then obliterated into nothing by my brother's signature Spirit gun.
"And here I was thinking they would make it easy for us, huh guys?" Yusuke asked with that small glint in his eyes that says 'this is gonna be fun' in a sarcastic way.
"Yeah." Kazuma agreed while I just nodded my head.
"Well, let's not waste any more time. Come on." Botan suggested to us as she walked ahead with me and the others behind her trail. Another long hour of walking but got nowhere near closer to the property.
"Kind of stupid to have a mountain trail that ends halfway up the mountain, huh?" Yusuke commented sarcastically as usual. "I guess they don't encourage much camping around here."
"Yes, the stronghold is very well hidden, but we should be able to find it eventually by following Yukina's energy." Botan told us reassuringly.
"Gah, why are you still using that stupid compass?" Kuwabara asked boredly like he knew a better solution. "Just follow my way." He said as he began to wave his pinky high up. "The red pinkie string."
'Oh god fucking damn it.' I cursed mentally as I subconsciously grabbed my right wrist behind my back while mentally facepalming at myself.
"The what?" Botan asked with total confusion while my brother just blinked blankly.
"The moment I saw her, my love stretched out and tied us together." The Carrot-Top explained with so much passion that would probably makes me puke. "You see?" Then he held up his pinkie high up in the air. "Let's follow the thread of destiny!" With that, he began to run forward.
"Why is he in our team again?" I couldn't help but ask my brother and teammate. All I got was a small shrug from Yusuke before we began to follow our idiot. While my leg was carrying toward our destination I closed my eye and began to concentrate on Yukina-.
"Hey, are you coming or not Miyu?" My brother called out making me snap out of my focus. I had probably stopped on my tracks.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Botan asked a little concerned.
"Hn." I huffed out in reply as I crouched down and took off my shoes.
"Why are you taking off your shoes?" My blunette assistant asked me.
"Leave it Botan." Yusuke said with annoyance. "Let's just go before that lover doofus gets his ass into trouble." With that, we continued on with our journey. I closed my good eye and concentrated on the vibration of the ground.
It's. . . different for some reason. . . Like I can actually see it but not. . . What I mean is the senses are somewhat stronger now. Not that much, but just enough to detect some things around the area.
"YUKINA!" Loverboy cried out the girl's name as he was still holding his pinkie. Well, at least we still got the path- The gut feeling again but now with a small shiver.
"Wait, Kuwabara! It's this way." Botan told him as she pointed at the direction that would lead us to Yukina, from what we know from Botan's compass.
"Yeah, but I just got a really bad feeling, let's go around." Kuwabara stated. Did he felt it too?
"My compass says to follow the path, we don't have time for detours." My assistant stated firmly before walking ahead. That's when I notice it.
"NO DON'T!" I cried out as I threw my shoes away and rushed over to grab that Blabber-Mouth, but I clumsily tripped making me fell into the trap as well. Both of us let out a scream as we were pulled upwards and got stuck. . . in a freaking spider web. . . A big one in fact!
"BOTAN! MIYUKI!" The boys cried out as they watched us from down below.
"Whoopsie!" Botan said out of the blue in a shy and dumbfounded way. I tried to pull my hand away out of the sticky web, but it was no use, I was stuck. The both of us were like we were glued. "A little help?" My assistant pleaded right before a pair of red eyes gleamed from the darkness. . . then a giant spider revealed itself, making my assistant scream in terror.
Oh, my god, that's one ugly bug.
"Ah, what a nice catch!" The spider demon said as he eyed the both of us. "Not to mention two." Now that made my blood boil while my guts got twisted in disgust.
"Ough, it's a spider this time." Yusuke commented out loud.
"Thanks for pointing out that genius!" I murmured under my breath as I kept on moving one of my arms, but still nothing had budged.
"Hey! Let them go!" My brother demanded from the Spider Creature who just gave him a wicked grin.
"Go?" Questioned the spider monster before turning to me and Botan with hunger filled eyes. "Now why would I let them go if I was planning on drink their blood?" The idea creeped me out while bluenette tried not to scream bloody murder again, but she was definitely creeped out like I was.
"Ah, if you want to save them you have to come up and fight me in the evil spider's lair." Just then Kuwabara summoned his Spirit Sword that blocked the spider's path from us. "Sorry to mess up your plan, but no one is going between Yukina and me! " Kazuma exclaimed with determination before waving his sword all around, cutting me and Botan free from the spider's web. Newt thing I know is I began falling with Botan. Quickly I popped the leather pouch's top and summoned a water whip that caught one of the branches. I wrapped one arm around the bluenette's waist, and swing in the air then down to safety. We ended up rolling in the dirt, but it was really not a big of a deal.
"You can't possibly be human!" The spider concluded as I got back on my feet and placed the water back into my pouch.
"Yep!" Yusuke answered.
"We just happen to be really-really though." Kuwabara added cockily. The demon's leg on the front then suddenly turned into sharp claw blades.
"Pardon me if I make this quick." My brother interjected. The spider jumped up in the air and launched himself at Yusuke, who powered up his fist and punched a hole through the spider's body, killing him.
"Nice hook!" Botan exclaimed victoriously.
"Thanks." My brother replied. "If this detective thing doesn't work, maybe I can try exterminating." He added cockily and proudly making me shook my head at him with disapproval but I was a bit amused on the inside as well.
He never changes.
Meanwhile inside the Spirit World Headquarters, the young ruler and his assistant, Jorge watched the whole thing unfold through the office's screen.
"Ha-ha-ha!" The toddler laughed sarcastically and a bit tiredly at his chosen male Detective's words.
"It's getting dark sir." The blue ogre announced, only to get a small pout from the young ruler who barely can keep his eye open. Just then his door opens, revealing the fox-demon teen with rose-red hair.
"How is it going?" Kurama asked curiously as he walked into the office.
"It's going." Koenma replied to the teen. "You locate Hiei yet?" He questioned the redhead only to get a disappointing result.
"No." The Fox-Demon replied with honesty, and a worried frown on his face. "I'm afraid he never came back." This made the toddler let out an exasperated sigh.
"Well, that was just a matter of time before he found out about the mission, I guess. " Koenma concluded to himself.
"Uh. . .Do you mind if I ask a question about that sir?" The ogre asked, only to earn a small hum as a reply and the tired look of his boss. "Well, why does Hiei's sister being kidnapped had to be a secret from him? I mean doesn't he deserves to know?" This made the toddler shot up from his seat, and get into the ogre's face.
"MORON!" Koenma shouted in rage at the ogre who backed away in fear. "Once Hiei knows, he barges into the comp house slashing his sword at everyone in sight." The baby explained, making a point because everyone knows what Hiei is like. "And no doubt for the need of executing the servants and the family dog. " At that, the ogre let out a gasp. "The family dog will indeed be unfortunate but the humans. . . ." Koenma trailed down for a small second before a sigh escaped through his lips. "Well, it's a serious crime for taking human lives no matter what the circumstances. You know that. " He said, pointing his stare at Kurama who looked calm and collected.
"It's best not to worry." reassured the redhead. "Even if Hiei is heading for the comp house, I'm confident he will work with Yusuke and Miyuki."
"I'm surprised you are so calm Kurama." The young prince said. "Since if Hiei does harm, you'll be punished with him." At that Kurama sweat dropped while letting out a nervous chuckle.
"I-I'm sure there is really nothing to be concerned about." The redhead once again tries to convince Koenma. "After all, Miyuki is with them to keep everyone in line."
"Hmm, that's kind of true." The toddler agreed before turning his chair to the side and jump off of it. "Well, you better come tuck me in. We will record the rest on tape. "
"Yes sir." Jorge replied with a miserable tone as he and Koenma began to leave. As Kurama was about to go through the door he took one last glance at the screen, which shows his friends. A small smile crept onto his face when he noticed the small change in his childhood best friend.
With that in his knowledge, he left the office room and Spirit World completely.
