Ron POV:

"In your dreams!" I shouted. We all cast another spell towards Bellatrix who just gave a wave of her wand causing them all to fall to the ground. Without a moment's hesitation, she began to counterattack. I wasn't sure what kept happening, but each time we attacked our spells would dissipate as if it never existed. Even ones such as shields were becoming considerably less powerful than they should have been. I gritted my teeth. What was going on!?

On the other hand, Bellatrix's offence was becoming more and more fierce. She couldn't completely annihilate us since our basic skills and intuition were there and we weren't just going to stand around like dummies waiting to be killed. Bellatrix herself was also somewhat weakened and slower than she was when alive. Although there were a few moments that her speed and reactions went back to a more lively pace, most of the time, it was like she was carrying something on her back that prevented her from moving. Though, there was nothing there, because early when our spells were still working more or less, if there was something she was carrying it would have been knocked over and noticed by now.

Suddenly, from the distance, a large thumping sound could be heard. Everyone present became more cautious, carefully avoiding the area where the sound was coming from, even Bellatrix did so. That space so happened to be where she had been stationed earlier so with the changing situation she had gone more toward the side where Hermione was, not stopping her offence. The thumping sound had soon become larger when suddenly, a large monster of a thing had come in. Taller than everyone present and having shiny red eyes, it didn't look friendly in the slightest, but that feeling was mainly backed up because it was baring it's horns towards us charging hysterically.

"What in Merlin's Beard is that!?" I yelled dodging to the side before I got plowed over.

"It looks man-made," Hermione noted. "With it looking to be made out of some sort of metal and like a big machine that shaped like a bull. Maybe copper, bronze?"

"Whatever it is," Harry managed to point to the top of the bull after rolling to the side. There, a medium-sized black dog was standing, looking as though it was constantly shifting itself to not fall off in a way to crash to the ground and break some bones. However, I understood what Harry meant by drawing our attention over to that dog. After spending so much time studying them, it'd be difficult not to notice another hellhound. The only detail that shook me slightly off was how small it was. Compared to Mrs. O'Leary who was taller than every student at Hogwarts, this looked like a regular dog. Not that much bigger than my Patronus.

At the moment, the hellhound was the least of our concerns. That bull was charging as though it were a new edition broomstick, charging at a speed that was almost unfathomably fast. The difference was that a broomstick was still a broomstick so there were plenty of ways to get it under control, but this! What even was it!?

The hellhound who had just seemed to find some sort of footing had just jumped to the ground in a moment. As if they were synchronized, Bellatrix who had been resting to the side because of course the bull didn't go after her, had abruptly cast a Wand-Lighting Charm. The tip of her wand shone, adding more light to the otherwise gloomy forest where only the moonlight had been the only reason we were able to see each other, lucky enough that we even got moonlight where we were. The hellhound pounced on her and they promptly both disappeared.

?

I stared at the place they were with wide eyes. What? Today really had too many surprises. It felt like I was back into the past years of Hogwarts with one year fighting a live chess game and the next going through a bathroom to a secret ancient chamber that the teachers basically didn't know about. Wow, it'd be a contently nostalgic feeling if it wasn't so irksome most of the time, including the moment right now.

"Ron, focus." Hermione gave me a light chide after helping me get away from almost being knocked back by one of the bull's horns.

"I am," I responded, trying to cast another spell now that Bellatrix seemed gone. It worked just fine this time to my glee but didn't affect the bull in the slightest to our bad luck. Ugh, what a bother. "It's just...did you see that?"

"See what?" Percy asked, looking around the bull from the angle he was at before doing another. "There's been a lot going on," To his misfortune, the bull seemed to be particularly energetic going after him. It was as if he was a giant shiny golden treasure and the bull was a niffler who had it's greedy eyes set on him. Perhaps it was this reason he missed the hellhound occurrence.

"I saw it," Harry supported. "And from what I recall, Hagrid didn't mention anything about it having some sort of an apparition ability!"

"I suppose," Percy spoke from what he heard in our conversation while still trying to shake off the bull. "Although wizards and witches can't do that on Hogwarts grounds with the exception of the situations like the last time we saw Bellatrix where the associate should be helping them. Our spells earlier weren't working but hers were. Perhaps she can actually do that,"

"That doesn't make sense," I retorted. "I mean it does, but then why'd she wait for the hellhound to hop onto her to do it,"

"So we all know it's a hellhound too," Hermione mentioned. "I'm quite sure it has something to do with how Bellatrix vanished. I just never expected it to be so...small. In Hagrid's class, he said that they would be at least the size of a bear,"

"I think we should worry more about the disappearing aspect," Harry fired a few more spells trying to help obstruct the bull. "We didn't know if it had any abilities relating to this either from class. Hermione, you read some extra material. Did it mention anything?"

"I did do extra research, but it didn't mention anything about a teleportation ability of sorts."

"It didn't? That's weird. If something had the capability to do something like that, I'm sure it'd definitely be one of the details listed. While we're asking, was there anything about this thing?" I gestured to the bull in front of us with one hand while the other continued to cast spells. A niffler to it's treasure, this comparison truly wasn't far off to the current situation. Percy seemed to be running around the area, sometimes firing spells back but mostly trying to shake the bull off of his trail. By now, our spells were going back to functioning properly, but they still didn't work on the bull.

"Uh, Percy," Hermione asked. "Are you alright to answer? Hellhounds come from Greek Mythology, and you're our neighbourly expert,"

"It's a kind of difficult to recall information with this scenario," Percy pointed to the bull behind him. "Let's first get rid of this first! It's obvious that spells won't work so does anyone have a knife of sorts?"

"I'm here!" Annabeth suddenly emerged, pushing her way through a few trees.
