A/N: So, this relatively short epilogue brings this story to a close. I hope you've enjoyed reading all of it as much as I had writing it. We finish with Sarah reflecting on the three years after their wedding and how meeting a certain nerd changed her life.

Thank for all the reviews of the last chapter and all the previous reviews, too. This has been more popular than I could ever have imagined.

The biggest thanks go to my friend, LetsGoRed, my beta on this, for everything he's done to make this whole thing readable, and in American English; every chapter has needed his input, so thank him for how it worked out.

Disclaimer: The characters are all I've borrowed from the show. I hope I've done them justice.

Life After Death
Epilogue

Chuck and Sarah's house, three years later

Sitting looking out at the beach, she hummed.

She didn't mind being alone right now. It was a rest, to be honest.

As she sat there, she thought about the last three years. Starting with Molly.

The adoption process had been much easier than it had when Emma adopted the baby. The adoption only complicated by Chuck becoming the legal guardian, along with Sarah, his new wife. The recognition of the marriage, and therefore him being eligible for the adoption should have been easy, but the wheels on the administration bus turned slowly. However, they eventually were able to collect their daughter from Sarah's mom's house.

It was a tearful visit, not surprisingly. Emma had loved this child, bringing her up for three years, but the change was right for all of them. Emma admitted to struggling. She wasn't old, but the younger couple would be able to give more to the little girl. There was two of them, after all, but that wasn't the main reason for the adoption, they both wanted Molly with them. They both loved that little girl and she loved them.

Now, Molly was happy being at school. She'd been desperate to get there. She just soaked up everything she was taught. It was almost as if she was Chuck's child. Ellie had told Sarah about how he had been like that and now they were the parents of a daughter, admittedly adopted, who was just the same.

Of course, no one, other than their close friends, knew that she was adopted. Why would they think that? Molly had curly blonde hair, looking like she was theirs, and her blue eyes almost as striking as Sarah's.

The business was still growing. The initial product offering had been a huge success. They had done a number of updates to add languages and language variations. It was now sold in a dozen countries around the world. That had continued to require foreign travel. They tried to go together each time, but that hadn't always been possible. They missed each other whenever they separated. When they were back together each time, Emma usually looked after Molly. They needed a lot of time in their bed, "reacquainting themselves."

And then Sarah had gotten pregnant.

She had been jumping around the house so much when the test had proved positive, that Chuck had been worried about their unborn child! The pregnancy had been hard for her, particularly when she felt she was just waddling around. She'd always been a slim person, but the pregnancy had changed that! She'd worried that Chuck wouldn't find her attractive like that, but he never showed it. He was always there for her, loving her.

At thirty-eight weeks, she'd been unable to keep going to work and was starting to feel she'd never have the baby. She'd heard that such feelings were not uncommon, but statistics didn't help. She'd brought work home so she didn't go stir crazy, but she was still grouchy when he got home.

Chuck was going to take her out for a meal, possibly the last before their child arrived. They'd decided not to know the sex of the child, but she had started to regret that, thinking they needed to know, to know what clothes and toys to get.

Chuck had been coming down the stairs. Their reservation had been in an hour, so there was no rush. She'd suddenly felt the change. "Chuck, we have to go."

He'd frowned as he walked up to her, "The reservation isn't for an hour. We don't have to go yet."

She'd grabbed his arm. "No! We have to go now. To the hospital!"

"Oh!"

They'd made it to the hospital on time, even though Chuck was driving.

Their second bundle of joy arrived half an hour after they arrived in the Maternity unit. It had been a fairly easy birth, and so quick, and then there was Kathryn in her arms! Sarah had felt tears of joy as she looked down at her baby! Their own creation, part of each of them.

Kathryn was another little beauty with blonde hair, this time straight, but oh so thick. Her eyes had been blue when she was born, but now had developed into gorgeous chocolate eyes. This time everyone was right when they recognized whose child she was. Blonde hair like her mom and brown eyes like her dad.

But Sarah was happy at how everyone thought of Molly as theirs, as well. She was the lovely baby that had started the change in Sarah. She'd started Sarah's journey to this happy life. And she was just as precious to both of them as Kathryn was. Two adorable children, a lovely two-year-old that Sarah had carried inside her and her older sister who Sarah had carried in front of her, halfway across the world.

Molly had been a wonderful older sister to Kathryn, always wanting to help her mommy and was often found, looking into the cot, cooing at the baby inside. When she was allowed to sit and hold Kathryn in her lap, both looked at each other with love in their eyes. It always brought tears to Sarah's eyes, Chuck's too. They'd stand close, holding each other, watching them. Definitely treasured moments.

When Kathryn started to walk, her older sister wanted to hold her hand as she did. Chuck and Sarah had to dissuade her from that initially, but as Kathryn became steadier on her feet, the two girls often walked hand in hand.

Kathryn, quite obviously, adored Molly, as much as Molly did her. Sarah was so happy that, when they were older, each would have a sibling who loved them, would be there for them, if they ever needed it. This was what she'd seen with Chuck and Ellie; something she never had.

Now she was expecting her third child!

They now knew it was going to be a boy. She had to know this time! She couldn't wait to see him; his face, his hands and toes! Her life that had felt complete, was going to be even better soon.

She'd love him too, obviously, but he would have an impact going forward. Life would sometimes be a bit harder with three children. Car seating would be, until Molly was able to go without a car seat. Eating out would need room for five, but that really wouldn't be an issue until the kids were older. None of that had stopped them wanting a third child. They had wanted a son, and soon they'd have one. Maybe Chuck wouldn't feel so outnumbered? That made her chuckle, but there would be some truth to it. Both Molly and Kathryn were quite strong willed. How would Chuck cope when they were teens, with three beautiful, decisive women telling him what to do?

She felt a kick. Her son making his presence felt. Yes, I know you're there!

She leaned back in the sofa and put her feet up in front of her.

She'd stopped going into work this week. She was just too uncomfortable there. This was so much better. Unlike last time, she'd decided not to bring work home and just take it easy. Or as easy as she could feeling like a beached whale being kicked from the inside.

She did like relaxing like this, though. Chuck in the office, Molly at school and Kathryn with a friend. She just had the place to herself. Ohh! Yeah, and you, kicker!

Sitting here, sipping her water, she started thinking about the life of Sarah Bartowski, to date.

She now recognized how unhappy she'd been as a teenager with her dad. Yeah, he'd been exciting when she was younger, but when she worked out what they were doing was wrong, she stopped enjoying it. And all the moving around, not staying anywhere long enough to make friends. She'd thought that was normal at the time, but being with Chuck and Morgan, she had discovered what she'd missed.

Then the really dark period of her life. Thirteen God-forsaken years! Now she felt better about it, though. Thanks to Chuck. She was now proud of all the good she'd done and didn't dwell on all the killing that had been necessary. Chuck had persuaded her that she had been a force for good, saving lives, not one of evil, as she had started to believe before meeting him.

She thought about the day she had resigned and how that had been her best decision up to that point in her life. She'd done all she could cope with. Admittedly a lot in the last three years had been what she wanted, as much as the Company. She'd rid them of Ryker and his rogue agents. Once she'd done that, she just wanted out. So, she got out, without any thought about "what next?"

Her second best decision was choosing to come to California. If she hadn't, how else would she have met the love of her life?

She smiled, thinking of that first meeting. He was so clumsy, but so loveable too. She thought about her words at the wedding, how he'd stalked her. In her own way, unconsciously, she'd stalked him just as much, hoping to see him each day after that first encounter. Of course, she now knew he'd already captured her heart, even without speaking! Then she remembered talking to him for the first time and how they just seemed to connect.

Thinking about those dates with him, she remembered how nervous she'd felt, on each. Saying yes to the first was a big moment for her. It terrified her, but at the same time, excited her so much. Of course, she had nothing to fear, as he was such a gentleman and so caring. Even if she'd done something wrong, she knew now that he would have caught her from the fall and made it right. It was what he did.

He'd looked out for her from the start. Helping her become a "real girl"; helping her find that apartment that she only stayed in for a few weeks; helping her feel less lost in this new world she was living in; helping her realize she did have transferable skills; and then his suggestion they work together and them doing it. Everything good since then had been because of her husband.

Sure, they'd had disagreements and fights over things that seemed to matter at the time, but they'd always gotten over them. Nothing could break their love for each other, how much they cared for each other.

She thought of them touching each other in those early days and how she would feel the spark. She still did. And then their first kiss. She basked in that for a while, then thought about the first time they'd made love. So, so wonderful. That feeling hadn't diminished, it was just as good now, over three years later. He was such a wonderful lover.

After a while, she started to remember their work together on the company. They worked so well as a team. It had been hard work, but so rewarding.

That first presentation at a show had been a real eye opener for her. Chuck had really brought her out from the shadows. Since then, she'd enjoyed it so much, when she could do it.

Thinking about his proposal and their wonderful wedding day were both memories she would cherish forever.

Molly's adoption had been so important for them as a family, too. She was such a joy to have with them. She still saw her "granny," just not every day. Both the girls loved it when Emma visited, always taking them down onto the beach to play. They also got to stay with her for a weekend every other month. Sarah knew her mom probably spoiled them, but they always came home so happy, she never got upset about it.

Visits from the Woodcomb crew happened as often as possible, as did their visits to Chicago. Clara and Molly would link up in a video chat once a week. Sarah knew both missed the other, even though they had their own friends. Ellie had thought they may come back to LA at some time, but her career and Devon's meant they were best to stay in Chicago. It was a shame, but they all managed.

Chuck and Sarah also had video calls with the other couple and sometime both families were on the call if they used a large screen at each end. The technology was getting better all the time. Someday this would be the normal way for families to keep in touch. Sarah hoped that wouldn't be in her lifetime. She now really enjoyed seeing people in person; something she never would have expected when in the Agency.

Leaving the CIA and coming to California had been one of her best decisions, but meeting Chuck was what had really changed her life.

She knew she'd changed his life, too. Two broken people who had found each other, found love.

Life was good. Their love so strong, the love in their family so strong, too.

She now woke every day in bliss, not dread as she had done before.

Life was only going to get better and better.

A/N: So, Molly adopted and now the big sister. Chuck and Sarah's first born is modelled on, and with the same name as, my oldest, a brown eyed blonde with hair that drives her mad as it's so thick. I was amazed at her eyes changing color just like in the paragraph here. She and her sister, Sarah, absolutely adore each other, which always makes my wife and I so happy when we see them together, so no surprise that the two sisters here do too.
