I am so sorry for the LOOOONNNNGGG wait, something came up and I had to deal with it. So as an apology, imma post two chapters for you.

CHAPTER THREE - Beyond The Walls

The sun was setting.

The sky was yellow and fading to pink.

The four kept struggling to carry Bobby. Every minute, dropping him and having to work together to pick him back up.

Lincoln, already sweating, spoke up.

"Is there any specific place we're going where no monsters are?" Lincoln whispered loudly.

"This maze is too big. They can be anywhere." Luke responded.

Lincoln wondered how big the maze was when Luke said this.

"Here." Lynn said as she started to turn left.

The other three moved in unison with her while holding Bobby.

The four kept moving forward.

"Right here." Lynn said.

The three looked up to see a big patch of vines on a wall.

"We can hang him up here." Lynn said.

"With what?" Lincoln asked.

Lynn grabbed what seemed like nature's rope.

She then tied it onto Bobby.

"Luke. Help me." Lynn said while positioning the rope.

Luke walked over and grabbed the end of the rope.

"We'll pull on this until he's halfway up. We don't want grievers getting to him. We take shifts. Keep your eyes peeled, everyone. Ready?" Lynn said.

Luke nodded.

"On three." Luke said.

"Alright." Lynn replied.

"One. Two. THREE!" Luke said.

The two pulled back the rope. Bobby's body was rising higher, but slowly. Very slowly.

It was like playing tug of war against the maze.

The two breathed loudly as they kept pulling on the rope.

"Goddamn man. I'm already tired." Luke said.

"Keep going. Don't be a weenie." Lynn said seriously.

Sam and Lincoln watched from behind until Sam looked to her left and started walking away.

Lynn and Luke were unaware of her. However, Lincoln saw this.

Sam walked about 10 feet before stopping.

Lincoln walked up behind her.

Sam sighed before speaking.

"This place is giving me bad memories. I don't know why I volunteered to go back in." Sam said worryingly.

Lincoln looked at her.

"I stopped being a runner after Dray was stung." Sam said.

Lincoln wondered what she meant.

"Uhm...mind if I ask w-who he was?" Lincoln said nervously, not wanting to make her more upset.

"I don't want to talk about it, but fine." Sam sighed.

It took her a few seconds to speak as she looked in the distance.

Lynn and Luke were still pulling.

"He was one of the runners. One of my friends. In fact...he may have been my best friend. That morning, he and I went into the maze because it was our turn. We just kept searching, but never found anything, like usual." Sam said.

Lincoln listened.

"He and I decided to separate that same day, trying to find more things quicker. If I hadn't agreed to that stupid fucking idea that day, he'd probably still be here." Sam said, trying not to cry.

Lincoln could hear the pain in her voice as she said this.

"I heard him scream. I searched for minutes but I couldn't find him fast enough. I eventually found him, with a sting mark on his stomach." Sam softly said. "He was barely breathing, so I had to carry him a-and, we eventually got back. B-but i-it was only just about f-five seconds u-until…"

Sam started tearing up.

Lincoln already regretted asking who he was. He felt bad for bringing up bad memories.

"I quit r-running after that, figuring I should settle as a builder. Occasionally gardening." Sam said.

Lincoln's face was drained. It hurt him to see her tear up. Even if he had just met her.

Sam quickly wiped the tears off her face and turned around.

"Well, it's not good to think about bad moments." Sam said as she walked past him.

"Come on, let's help them out." Sam said.

Lincoln slowly walked over, approaching the wall covered with vines.

Night had settled.

Lynn and Luke kept pulling as Sam and Lincoln sat down from exhaustion.

"How. Much. Longer. I am about to melt!" Luke said tiredly.

"Quit whining, we're almost done." Lynn said.

Luke sighed as they continued pulling Bobby up.

Sam and Lincoln sat down against the wall watching them.

"Good thing that isn't us right now." Sam smirked.

Lincoln slightly grinned.

The two continued watching them pull Bobby until Sam spoke again.

"Do you think we're gonna survive this? Make glade history?" Sam said while smiling, trying not to worry the greenie.

"I don't know...I don't know how dangerous it is. If they told me no one has ever survived a night in the maze, it must be." Lincoln said.

"Well, they kind of over exaggerated it. Only one person was stuck out there. I didn't know her too well. Only four of us-, well, five of us died. Hannah, a girl, died before I arrived. Then, Stevi was stung and died. We buried him in the forests. Didn't know him too well either. Then...Dray...and then Joanna. Joanna couldn't make it back in time. People said she was as skilled as Lynn, some even said more. We waited until morning, the doors opened, but she never came back. Then Miguel." Sam explained. "We still have a chance."

Some of Lincoln's stress went away, but not all of it.

Lynn and Luke were finally able to hang Bobby high enough.

Lynn and Luke let go of the rope.

"Okay, now what?" Luke said exhaustively

"Does he look stable?" Lynn asked.

Luke and Lynn looked up towards Bobby.

"Looks stable to m-" Luke was cut-off by a screech.

The four looked over down the maze.

Sam and Lincoln got up quickly.

"What...the...hell...is...that?" Lincoln slowly but quietly said.

What they saw was a black, bulby being with multiple robotic legs attached to it. It had a large mechanical tail with a claw at the top.

"GRIEVER!" Luke yelled.

The griever charged up to them while screeching.

Luke and Lynn turned around and ran.

"W-wh-" Lincoln's hand was grabbed by Sam.

"Lincoln, come on! Run!" Sam said while tugging him.

Lincoln obeyed and both Lincoln and Sam ran to the right of them, separating them from Luke and Lynn.

Lincoln and Sam kept running for only 10 seconds.

Soon enough, they realized the griever wasn't chasing them.

They turned around and stopped, catching their breaths. Even if they only ran for 10 seconds.

"Those things are terrifying!" Sam said.

"What now?" Lincoln asked.

Sam looked around, not knowing what to say.

She then caught something in her glimpse.

"Oh shit!" She yelled.

Another griever popped around the corner, screeching.

Lincoln and Sam jumped and started running backwards.

"Don't look back!" Sam yelled.

The griever gave chase.

The two made a right, then a left, then right, then another right, then a left.

The two, still running for their lives, came to a dead end.

It was a stone ledge. Below was a tall wall with lots of green vines and leaves.

The two looked back, seeing the griever fastly approaching them.

"Lincoln, get ready to jump on those vines." Sam said.

"W-what?" Lincoln asked nervously.

"Three." Sam said.

"W-wait, n-no!" Lincoln said.

"Two." Sam said.

"Sam, I'm g-gonna miss!" Lincoln said.

"ONE!" Sam said as she jumped down.

Sam jumped 30 feet down, grabbing on the vines.

Lincoln looked behind him and saw the griever only feet away from him.

Without a second, he jumped, barely missing the griever.

Lincoln screamed as he was falling 30 feet down.

Sam looked up at the falling boy, hoping he would make it.

Lincoln reached his hand out towards the vines and leaves.

Lincoln grabbed onto them.

Lincoln breathed loudly and he was sure that he was going to die.

The griever thrusted itself forward and jumped onto the vines as well.

"Oh my god!" Lincoln screamed.

The griever came crawling down fast.

"Come on!" Sam screamed.

Lincoln looked down to see her climbing down from the vines onto the ground.

Lincoln followed her down.

The griever was still giving chase to them.

Sam managed to touch her feet on the ground and jump off.

Sam turned around and waited for Lincoln, noticing the griever above him.

"Come on! Keep going!" Sam yelled.

Lincoln kept climbing down faster, almost reaching the bottom.

The griever screeched as he kept getting more far away.

Eventually, Lincoln jumped off and landed.

"Let's go! Follow me!" Sam yelled.

The two kept running for what seemed like forever through the maze, not knowing if the griever was still following them.

The two eventually stopped at an intersection.

The two leaned over to catch their breaths.

They looked back and didn't see the griever.

"We need to find Lynn and Luke!" Sam said, still catching her breath.

Lincoln was about to speak when a sharp pain came from his arm.

"Aah!" Lincoln yelped quietly.

Sam turned around quickly and looked at him.

"What's wrong? What is it?" Sam said worryingly.

"The bite. It stings!" Lincoln said.

Sam leaned down next to him.

Sam rolled up Lincoln's sleeve to reveal a nasty looking blue and purple bite.

"This may have been infected. We need to get you back to the med-jacks." Sam said quickly.

Lincoln looked at the bite. Miguel really sank his teeth into his arm.

Suddenly, both Lincoln and Sam hear a yell.

"SAM?! LINCOLN?! ANYONE?! WHERE ARE YOU?!" A voice yelled.

The two looked at each other before running towards the direction of the voice.

Lincoln turned a corner before bumping into something. A red jacket.

Lincoln wiped his eyes before looking up to see Luke.

Sam came around the corner.

"Luke!" Sam yelled happily.

"Woah! You guys alright?" Luke asked.

"I'm fine. Lincoln's arm though, it's not looking good." Sam said.

"What happened?" Luke asked.

"We got chased by a griever, managed to escape. The bite from Miguel is looking worse." Sam replied.

Luke took a look at Lincoln. Lincoln's face looked like it was in pain.

"Where's Lynn?" Sam asked.

"We got separated!" Luke said.

"Do you remember where she-" Sam was cut off by a large screech.

A griever jumped from the top and landed right behind them. Showing off his teeth and slimy mouth.

"Oh hell no!" Luke said as he grabbed a nearby twig and chucked it at the griever.

The twig softly hit the griever.

The three looked at it with wide eyes.

The griever began growling as it slowly walked over.

"Luke, I think you just pissed it off!" Sam said.

"Run, RUN!" Luke yelled.

The three turned around and began running away.

Luke was in the front, Lincoln in the middle and Sam in the back.

"Duck!" Luke said.

Luke quickly rolled under some vines that were covering the path and were attached from wall to wall.

Lincoln yelped as he approached the vines.

The griever wasn't far back and was approaching fast, screeching.

Lincoln got to the ground and began crawling underneath them.

Sam, nearly out of breath, approached the vines.

Sam swiftly got to the ground and started crawling.

Sam and Lincoln got up from crawling at the same time and continued running. Luke far ahead of them.

The griever chasing them charged through the vines like nothing.

Luke made a left.

Sam and Lincoln, still feet away, saw this happen.

The griever was only mere feet away.

Sam and Lincoln quickly turned to the left, following Luke.

Luke kept running, hoping that Sam and Lincoln were still behind him. He kept repeating a rule that Bobby told him in his head. "Don't look back. Don't look back." Luke thought.

Lincoln and Sam were behind him, with the griever still chasing.

"Lincoln, Don't look back!" Sam said.

Lincoln, tempting to look back, listened to Sam. He didn't want to be this griever's supper.

A silent innocent little rock was resting on the floor. The rock was smaller than an apple.

Sam was running out of breath. She was surprised Lincoln was managing to run this long without slowing down.

The silent innocent little rock was right in front of Sam's shoe.

Sam tripped over the rock. Landing on the floor with her hands.

Lincoln and Luke turned around to see the griever swiftly approaching Sam.

"Sam!" Luke yelled from a distance.

The griever approached the girl on the floor.

It had only been 2 seconds since she fell.

The grievers tail clanked before swiping her up.

Sam yelped as this happened.

Sam tried to pull herself out from the grievers' tail, but to no avail.

The griever raised her up, and a cylindrical metal stinger raised up from the tail.

Sam's eyes went wide as she saw this.

This only happened in a matter of 5 seconds.

Sam closed her eyes, waiting for the stinger to pierce into her.

Suddenly, a yell came from her left.

It was Lynn with a carving knife in her hand.

The griever stopped and looked over.

Sam opened her eyes and looked over to see Lynn piercing her knife into the griever.

A green gush of slush came oozing out of the griever.

Lynn pulled out the knife and the griever screeched in pain.

The griever dropped Sam.

Luke and Lincoln approached the situation.

"Keep going!" Lynn yelled.

The four turned around and ran as fast as they could.

Sam was still breathing loudly and her eyes were still wide. Not believing she survived a griever.

Luke and Lynn made a sharp right with Sam and Lincoln following after.

The four continued running down the maze.

Suddenly, another griever came from Lincoln's right and charged at him.

Lincoln yelped as he saw the gigantic monster charging.

Lincoln barely avoided it.

Sam looked back, forgetting what she said earlier. Her eyes were still wide.

The four kept running together in different directions, with the griever quickly following them.

Lynn was remembering certain spots of the maze.

"This way!" Lynn said as she took a sharp left.

The three turned to the left as Lynn did this.

A straight path was ahead of them.

Lynn was in the front, Luke behind her, Sam behind him and Lincoln behind Sam.

The griever was behind Lincoln, only 15 feet away.

The walls beside them of the straight path made a screeching sound.

"Oh, fuck!" Luke yelled.

"What?!" Lincoln yelled back.

"Just keep running!" Luke yelled.

The walls beside them began to close in on them.

"Oh my god! Are you serious?!" Sam yelled, completely drained of stamina at this point.

Lynn ran even faster making sure she could make it beyond the closing walls.

A large section was in front of them.

Luke starts charging faster, trying to escape.

Sam was slowing down slowly.

Lynn reached the large section and turned around.

"Come on guys! Hurry!" Lynn yelled.

The wall was only 10 feet away from crushing them against another wall.

Luke approached the large section, falling on the ground as he reached it.

Luke turned around quickly and got back up to see Sam slowly approach it.

The wall was now 8 feet away.

Lincoln knew the griever still had time.

Lincoln quickly looked at the closing wall beside him and looked back at the griever, who was only 15 feet behind him.

Sam made it to the large section. Slowly turning around.

"Come on greenie! Run!" Lynn yelled.

Lincoln stopped running and turned around to face the griever.

"Lincoln? What are you doing?! Come on!" Luke yelled.

Lincoln grabbed a twig like Luke did before and threw it at the griever. The griever stopped and grabbed the twig, throwing it behind it.

"Come on! Come get me!" Lincoln yelled.

Sam walked up and looked down towards the closing walls.

"Lincoln!" Sam yelled.

The three at the large section started yelling at him, telling him to hurry up.

Lincoln turned around and kept running, the walls were only 5 feet away from crushing him.

The griever started charging at him, screeching.

"Lincoln! Come on!" Sam yelled.

"Go! Go!" Luke screamed.

The closing wall was only 3 feet away from crushing him.

Lincoln ran as fast as Lynn did at this point. He didn't want to die today, who did?

The open area became too small for the griever as it leaped out towards the boy and got stuck.

"LINCOLN!" Sam screamed.

Lincoln leaped out of the closing walls landing into Sam and Luke's arms.

The griever made a horrible noise before a gushing and squishing noise emerged within.

The griever was completely crushed between the walls.

"H-holy shit." Lynn said while staring at the oozing mess inside the walls.

The three looked at Lincoln, who was surprised himself. He just killed a griever.

"Lincoln. Woah." Sam said shockingly.

"Greenie, you are one crazy suicidal kid." Luke said with his eyes opened.

Lincoln looked down.

"Do you think they're still chasing us?" Lincoln asked.

Lynn spoke.

"Don't know." Lynn said.

Lynn looked to her left and stared.

"I-i think in this...direction….where...Bobby should be." Lynn said.

"You sure?" Luke asked.

"Yes, I've been running in this maze for years." Lynn said confidently.

"This way." Lynn said as she started jogging.

"I hope we don't run into any more of them." Lincoln said out loud.

The three followed behind her, trusting her word.

The four walked and jogged through several doors and halls. The sounds of footsteps echoed through the halls.

Lynn was leading in the front, with Luke, Sam and Lincoln behind her.

"Another right, and we should be there." Lynn said.

Lynn took a right, the other three followed behind her.

The four approached a wall with tons of vines on it. A body seemed to be hanging from the top.

"Halfway over here, I was starting to worry that maybe the grievers took him." Luke said.

"Looks like luck is by our sides today." Lynn said unemotionally.

Lincoln looked at Bobby.

"Are you sure you didn't kill him? Don't you think he should've been up by now?" Lincoln asked.

Lynn looked back towards Lincoln.

"If you go crazy after getting stung, then go unconscious, you're out for the rest of the day. We don't know why. How would we?" Lynn said before turning back.

Luke looked over and saw an open space under the wall of vines.

"We can sleep in there." Luke pointed.

The other three looked over and saw the open space. The entrance towards it was covered in vines.

"I'm not sleeping. A griever can just sneak up and take one of us." Sam said nervously.

"Luke, me and you, take watch." Lynn said.

As much as Luke wanted to snuggle up against the vines, close his eyes and drift off to sleep, he knew his friends' lives were more important than dreaming about anything.

"Alright." Luke said.

Lynn looked over towards Lincoln and Sam.

"You two, get some rest, you guys need it. If we see anything, we'll wake you up." Lynn said.

Lincoln looked over at her.

"You better." Lincoln said before crawling under the vines.

Luke quietly giggled.

Lynn looked over at him.

"What?" Luke said with a smile.

Lynn rolled her eyes and walked towards the east side. She leaned against the wall with her arms crossed.

Sam slowly walked over towards the open space and crawled under.

She positioned herself so she could face towards the outside.

Luke turned around.

"I'll watch Bobby." Luke said.

Lynn turned towards him.

"Don't go and make excuses just to take the easy job. If you watch Bobby, who's watching the west?" Lynn said.

Luke put his hands up and backed away and turned around.

Lincoln thought to himself. "Did I just kill a griever?".

Lincoln had been worrying that he'd be in trouble when they arrived back, if they did at all. The adrenaline in him confused him. He didn't know why he risked his life to kill one. But now that he did, and he succeeded, the others might see him more than just a "weenie".

With this in mind, he closed his eyes, hoping he wouldn't wake up inside a grievers stomach.

Sam, who was lying next to him, couldn't close her eyes. The reason she quit being a runner was from traumatizing events, and now, it happened again.

The sun was rising over the maze. The glow of the rays that came from it shined down on Lincoln's face.

Lincoln slightly moved before blinking.

It took a few more blinks before his eyes finally opened.

Lincoln groaned as he rolled away from the open space and looked around.

Luke, who was left of Lincoln, leaning against a wall slowly blinking, trying to stay awake.

Lynn, who was right of Lincoln, still had her full guard up as she looked on.

Lincoln also noticed Sam was up already. She was staring upwards.

Sam looked down towards Lincoln.

"Rise and shine." Sam said with a smile.

Lincoln got up and dusted his shirt with his hands.

Lynn looked behind her towards Lincoln. She stood silent.

Lincoln looked around, now remembering where he was.

"Now what?" Luke said tiredly.

Lynn looked at Bobby's body.

"Walls should be opening in a few, we carry him and ourselves back to the glade." Lynn said while pointing to Bobby.

Lincoln was surprised how Lynn didn't sound tired at all.

"How do we get him down?" Sam asked.

Lynn walked over to the wall Bobby was hanging from.

"May take a while." Lynn said.

Clyde was sitting on a log fiddling with two small sticks.

In front of him, Jordan, Chandler, Luan and another boy were stacking boxes on top of each other.

The boy, who wore a yellow shirt and had brown curly hair and freckles, looked towards the doors.

"So, they're just dead?" The boy asked.

Jordan turned her head towards him.

"Most likely." Jordan said.

Clyde perked up towards her.

"We still should have hope. I mean...Lynn is strong and fast, so is Luke. Sam and Lincoln are fast too." Clyde said.

Jordan turned her head towards Clyde.

"Well, we will find out when the doors open." Jordan said.

"When will they open?" Clyde asked.

"Well, Lori had us work early, so I should say soon," Luan said.

Jordan looked towards the boy.

"Joey, help me lift this." Jordan said as she was heading towards a large wooden crate.

Joey walked over towards the crate.

Jordan and Joey picked up the box and slowly carried it over towards the rest of the boxes.

Suddenly, a large noise was heard from the direction of the doors.

Clyde immediately got butterflies in his stomach, he was worried that they wouldn't show up when the doors opened.

"Looks like it's opening." Chandler said.

Clyde got up quickly, dropped the sticks and ran over.

Chandler and Luan followed him.

Jordan and Joey placed the box down before following.

Early morning gladers from different directions ran over to the doors.

The group arrived at the doors as they started to open.

The doors opened slowly. Revealing the maze.

Everyone was curious about the fate of the five.

The group looked up at the doors.

As they slowly opened, Clyde looked between the two walls and couldn't make out a single shape within.

The doors opened back up, slamming against the walls and making a loud noise.

Everyone looked inside. Not a single soul to be seen.

"Told you, Clyde. They're not coming back." Jordan said as she turned around and started walking away.

Luna looked into the maze. Her heart sank as she knew her best friend, Sam, the best runner, the leader, who she knew for five years and the greenie, who seemed like a sweet kid, were all dead. She couldn't stand to think of this.

"Fuck." Luna said, almost tearing up before turning around as well.

Everyone that was present had similar thoughts.

Everyone began walking away from the silent maze.

Clyde and Chandler were the last two looking.

Chandler closed his eyes before walking away as well.

Clyde, knowing Jordan was right, turned around and followed.

Everyone started to disperse in different directions.

Chandler turned around and looked into the maze.

He stopped walking and looked closer.

He saw four silhouettes looking to be carrying an object.

As he squinted, he started to make out those objects.

Was it a griever?

No, it certainly wasn't.

Chandler's eyes widened.

"No way." Chandler said out loud.

Everyone stopped and turned around.

Everyone now sees the four walking back with Bobby in their hands.

Clyde turns around and sees them. His heart lights up.

"YEAH!" Clyde screams excitedly

Everyone started talking out loud in excitement as they ran back to the doors to help them.

"They survived!" A boy yelled from the village.

Some boys and girls got up and ran over instantly.

"How'd you guys make it out?" Joey asked.

The four were bombarded with questions as they set Bobby towards the ground.

Carol and Francisco looked at Bobby.

"Francis, get straps and some drinkers ready." Carol said.

Francisco nodded and ran over towards the medic hut.

Lori and Sully ran over towards the group.

"You saw a griever?" Clyde asked.

"Yeah, we saw a bunch." Lincoln said.

Luke smirked and looked at Lincoln.

"Lincoln didn't just see it. He killed it." Luke said smiling.

Everyone stood silent as they looked at each other and back at Lincoln. Did they just hear that correctly?

"How?" Jordan asked.

Sully stepped forward.

"I'm calling a meeting. Make sure everyone is at the council hall in 10 minutes." Sully said.

Lori and Aazay looked at each other.

"I need to establish some things." Sully said while glaring at Lincoln.

Lincoln took notice of this, but looked away.

"Alright." Aazay said.

"He needs urgent strapping, get him to the medic-house quickly!" Carol yelled.

Lori, Luna and Lynn walked over and helped Carol pick him up.

The four carried him over to the medic house leaving Luke, Lincoln and Sam with the others.

"Wait, wait, how did you kill it?" Joey asked.

"He almost died doing it, the griever was chasing him while a wall was closing, he told it to come after him and he managed to get it crushed!" Luke said.

Some of the younger gladers awed while some of the older ones stood silent, especially Sully.

Sully walked over towards them.

"You three, follow me." Sully said while pointing towards Lincoln, Luke and Sam.

The three looked over.

"Whatever you say man." Luke said while walking towards him.

Lincoln and Sam soon followed behind.

Everyone that was surrounding them began to disperse.

Luke walked closer to Sully.

"Mind telling us why you're clearly taking us to the council hall?" Luke asked sarcastically.

Sully kept quiet.

Luke took notice of this.

"Okay…" Luke said while backing away from him.

Luke then walked back towards Lincoln.

"Dude's a weenie, for sure." Luke said while winking at Lincoln.

This made Lincoln and Sam slightly chuckle only for Sully to sigh.

The four made their way to the council hall.

Sully opened the door clearly made out of sticks and wood tied together.

The four entered.

Sully then pointed towards a seating area directly across from them.

In that area were a bunch of crates.

"Sit." Sully said while pointing towards it.

Lincoln walked over and sat down on a crate, not questioning anything.

"You two, wait here." Sully said before walking back outside.

Lincoln looked around him and saw the roof being held up by a single long stick. The roof was made of sticks and wood. The benches were made by hand.

Luke walked over and sat down with Lincoln while Sam sat quietly on a bench.

"You're not human." Luke said.

Lincoln looked at him.

"What?" Lincoln asked.

Luke looked at him and smiled.

"Alright, firstly, you are very fucking brave. Running in the maze like that? When you've never been in it? That takes big balls to do. Secondly, you fucking KILLED a griever! No one has ever done that! Not even our best. Thirdly, you didn't piss your pants when you saw the grievers." Luke said.

"Wait, did you...?" Lincoln asked while smiling.

"Let's just say...I might have passed out." Luke said.

Lincoln chuckled.

Lincoln thought about what he said. In only two days, he went into the maze, killed a griever and walked out.

"We're the first people to survive the maze overnight." Sam said while smiling. "It feels so cool, but also kind of...weird.

Luke and Lincoln looked over at Sam.

"Kinda sucks that Sully turned into a complete asshole." Sam said.

"Wait? He wasn't always one?" Luke said jokingly.

Lincoln spoke up.

"How was he like before?" Lincoln asked.

"He was more like Aazay, then he turned into Jesse." Sam replied.

Lincoln was confused.

"Jesse?" Lincoln asked.

"Oh right, you didn't meet him. He's one of the more skilled builders. He's Sully's right hand man. Jesse was always an asshole. When Hannah died, he literally fucking said 'Stupid bitch deserved it for not listening' like how the fuck can you just say that a few hours after a kid died." Sam said.

Lincoln's eyes widened.

"Wow." Lincoln said.

"Yeah, it's Sully, Jesse and Javier that are the stricter gladers. Not even Bobby is as strict as them." Sam said.

"Ehh...Javier isn't that bad. He's pretty chill if you hang around with him." Luke said.

"What does he look like?" Lincoln asked.

Sam was just about to speak before the door to the council hall opened up.

A guy with curly brown hair and a brown tank top walked in.

"Mickey." Luke said.

"Luke." Mickey replied.

Mickey walked over to a bell-like object and picked it up.

Lincoln looked over.

Mickey walked outside and swung a wooden mallet at the bell-like object.

It made a loud, ringing sound.

"Looks like Bush Head is calling a meeting." Luke said jokingly.

Lincoln got nervous, a bunch of butterflies spawned in his stomach. Although he wasn't as worried as when he was getting chased by a griever, he still feared what Sully had planned. He was hoping he wouldn't get banished to the maze after only two days.
