By nightfall, the gang was crossing through a town, which to their surprise, they didn't find people anywhere. They walked near the dock, where Ember saw the water wasn't clean and frowned.

"This is a weird city," Ember said, "Lots of Factories, but no people."

Brock opened up a pamphlet, "This place is called... Gringy City."

"Gringey? Never heard of it." Ember stated.

"It used to be a lively and busy place, with all this Factories here." Misty explained.

"Yeah, they kind of went overboard with Factories," Brock commented, "Pollution ruined the air, and the water here."

Ember sighed, "That's sad."

"Rai." Tesla said, standing next to Boltund.

Ember noticed something Tesla, Boltund, and Lucario weren't looking too good. Sparks were coming out of Tesla's cheeks and their faces red, and Lucario wasn't looking any better.

"Guys, are you okay?" Ember asked.

"(I don't feel so good.)" Lucario before he fell to his knees.

"Lucario!" Ember caught him before he could fall forward.

Tesla was falling to her left side, luckily Boltund stopped her fall and fell beside her.

"Tesla! Boltund!" Ember cried out when she saw her Pokémon's condition.

"We need to get them to the Pokémon center and fast." Brock decided.

Ember took out Lucario, Boltund, and Tesla's Pokéballs, "I have to put you in your Pokéballs for now. It'll protect you from the smell."

The three Pokémon looked at the Pokéballs, Ember's worried expression, and back the Pokéballs. Then they nodded. Ember returned them to their Pokéballs.

"Let's go!" Ember said before she and her friends ran towards the Pokémon center.

The gang ran into the Pokémon center and found the place was empty, but could be just because of how late it was right now. Ember rang the bell on the counter and they waited for Nurse Joy. Then Nurse Joy walked in, looking very tired.

"Hey, Nurse Joy, sorry to wake you up," Ember apologized, "But my Pokémon are in need of treatment."

"Do you kids know what time it is?" Nurse Joy scolded.

"Sorry." Ember apologized again.

"We just got here." Misty said.

Suddenly the lights all turned off and we looked around in confusion.

"What's going on?" Brock asked.

"I have no idea," Nurse Joy said, "Oh no!" She quickly ran to the other room and they quickly followed her, getting inside a room where many Pokémon were in beds with glass on top of them, sleeping.

"What happened to those Pokémon?" Ember asked.

"They're intensive care. If we won't get the power back soon... well, I just don't want to think about what will happen." Nurse Joy replied, worriedly.

Ember gazed at all of the Pokémon that were in their incubators. She knew that if they didn't solve the problem soon, the Pokémon here...will die. But Ember wasn't going to let that happen!

"Don't worry, Nurse Joy. We'll go and find out the problem." Ember assured the nurse.

"Thank you." Nurse Joy smiled in thanks.

The gang left the Pokémon center immediately and went to Officer Jenny's office.

"Officer Jenny, we have a problem," Brock said, "The Pokémon has a black out and if the power doesn't come back on soon then the Pokémon there will die."

"That's the problem right now. I've been trying to contact the power plant, but no one is answering." Officer Jenny told the gang.

"Officer Jenny, where is the Power Plant located?" Ember asked.

Officer Jenny pointed to the factory area, "It's the big building with the smoke stacks there, you really can't miss it."

"Thank you." Ember thanked the officer.

The gang headed off to the Power Plant.

It didn't take them long to find the Power Plant. Officer Jenny did say that the Power Plant was the biggest building in Gringy City. The power plant had big chimneys with lots of thick smoke coming out. So they really couldn't miss it.

"Something tells me this is where most of the pollution is coming from." Ember stated.

Misty noticed a stream and was disgusted by it, "Ugh look at that, this water is as filthy as the air."

"Come on, we should hurry." Ember said.

The inside of the power plant was very dark and deserted. Luckily the gang had flashlights on them.

"Hello! Is anybody in here?" Ember called but no one answered. "Come on." She led the way down the hall.

"Something is really weird," Brock said as they looked over to the map of the building. "Why isn't anybody working in here?"

Misty pointed down the hall, "It looks like the control room is down this way."

"Let's go then." Ember said and they started to walk down the hall.

After a few minutes of walking, Misty suddenly grabbed Ember's arm as they all stopped walking.

"Something is following us." Misty said in fear. She looked behind her and they looked over her shoulder but no one was there.

"Really? Cause I don't see anything Misty." Ember told her.

"B-but it was just there I swear!" Misty stuttered.

Ember sighed at this. Suddenly, two of her Pokéballs shook and Tesla and Boltund came out.

"Tesla, Boltund, what are you doing out?" Ember asked.

"Rai raichu (We don't want to stay in the Pokeball)." Tesla said.

"Arf arf (It's boring)." Boltund added.

Ember sighed again. She picked up Tesla and placed her on her shoulder. Then she somehow sensed that something was behind her and turned around to see what sort of looked a magnet, with a metal body and one big eye.

"Hey it's a Pokémon." Ember took out her phone and scanned the Pokémon:

[Magnemite, the Magnet Pokémon. It's able to float through the air and leave its Thunder Wave through its magnet shaped units located on its sides.]

"What's a Magnemite doing here?" Misty asked.

"Don't know." Ember shrugged.

"Hey, you don't suppose this Magnemite caused the black out do you?" Misty asked.

Brock shook his head, "I don't think so."

"Besides I don't think this one Magnemite could do that by itself." Ember stated. "Hey Magnemite, I don't suppose you know what's happened do you?" She asked the magnet Pokémon.

Magnemite stared at Ember, then suddenly froze and flew off in a hurry.

"I was just asking." Ember's brow arched.

At that moment, she smelled something terrible nearby.

"Do you smell that?" Brock asked, smelling what she was smelling, so did Misty.

"I do." Misty replied.

"So do I." Ember added.

Then they heard a metal felling down and we looked behind them to see a grating had fell to the floor. A few Grimer fell down to the floor, looking at them.

"These things must be the reason why Magnemite left in a hurry." Brock said, holding his nose.

"Grimer." Ember took out her phone.

[Grimer, the Sludge Pokémon. It was born when sludge in a dirty stream was exposed to X-rays from the moon.]

"Appears among the filth? The city. The pollution. It all makes sense." Brock realized.

"So all of this pollution called all the Grimer's," Ember said, "And if there's Grimer's then..."

The gang were disgusted by the smell of the Grimer, but didn't say anything about it as they took a step back. Ember knew that would make the Grimer mad. Unfortunately Misty couldn't help but let out,

"THEY SMELL ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!" She yelled.

Ember covered her mouth as she and Brock yelled together, "Shut up, Misty!"

That of course that did make the Grimer mad. Suddenly a big dark purple blob of sludge appeared between the Grimer, looking very cross.

"There's a Muk among them." Ember looked at it on the phone:

[Muk, the sludge Pokémon. The evolved form of Grimer. A toxic fluid seeps from its body. The fluid instantly kills plants and trees on contact.]

Muk pointed at the humans signaling for the Grimer to attack, like a crime boss ordering his thugs, making them run away. Ember quickly picked up Boltund as Tesla held onto Ember's shoulder.

"Nice going Misty!" Ember yelled.

"How is this my fault?!" she yelled back.

"You're the one that insulted them!" She reminded her. "Why did you have to open your mouth and make the Grimer mad, Misty?!"

"I had to open my mouth, I couldn't use my nose!" Misty shouted before they ran around the corner, which then Ember bumped into something and both of them fell down. It was a man and another man was standing behind him, both of them had a flashlight.

"What are you doing here?" the man standing asked.

"I'm Brock, this is Misty, and this is Ember, and we're here to-" Brock started.

"Look, can we cut the introduction?!" Misty snapped, "We got to get out of here!"

The Grimer appeared around the corner as Brock helped Ember up to her feet and they all took off as they followed the men.

"The Grimer here, too!" one of them yelled.

They ran into the control room and Brock leaned against the door, keeping it shut.

"Tell us what's going on," Ember said to the men, "This blackout is a disaster for the city! Lost of Pokémon are gonna die in the Pokémon Center if the power won't come back soon! They need that power!"

"But, we can't. There's so many Grimer, that they are blocking the sea watering tack." the man with the dark hair explained.

"We got to bring the water to a boil, so it will turn the turbine, but the generator won't work at all." the man with the brown hair added.

"Do something." Ember pleaded.

"I'm afraid that's easy to say. We've been trying to-" the man with the dark hair started.

"Ember! Misty!" Brock cut him off and we all looked over to see the Grimer were trying to get in, hitting the door as Brock was trying to keep it closed.

"The Grimer are... ramming the door! I can't hold it!" Brock said.

Misty and Ember ran closer and tired to help him keep the door closed, but the door opened and they all backed away to stand with the men as the Grimer walked inside.

The man with black hair looked at Ember and her friends, "You three are Pokémon trainers, right? You got to use your Pokémon to help us out."

"That's right, if you can get rid of the Grimer, the generator will work." the man with the brown hair said.

The Grimer started to walk closer and both the Tesla jumped off Ember's shoulder and Boltund jumped out of her arms. The two stepped forward before using Thunder Shock together, hitting a few Grimer, but not everyone.

"Rai/Arf." Tesla and Boltund whimpered as Muk walked behind the Grimer.

Suddenly the ceiling grate fell down and the gang looked up to see Magnemite flying down with several Magnemite and Magneton.

"Magnemites and a Magneton!" Ember exclaimed and took out her phone.

[Magneton, the Magnet Pokémon. The evolved form of Magnemite. Its heavy gravitational power allow it to float, and it can emit powerful magnetic and electric fields.]

The Magnemite and the Magneton along with Tesla and Boltund all used Thunder Shock together, sending a huge electricity on the Grimer, which caused them all to ran away as the Magnemite and the Magneton started to follow them, chasing them away. A moment after, the lights turned on, which meant that the Grimer that were blocking the water were probably chased away.

"The lights are on!" Ember said as they all smiled, and the men went to the computers.

"The turbine is moving again." the man with the brown hair said.

"The Grimer had cleared away!" the man with the black hair said.

"Yes!" Ember cheered as they high fived each other.

"Hold it!" Misty looked at the door and they followed her gaze to see Muk was still there.

"Muk is still here." Brock said.

"Tesla, Boltund, use Thunder Shock!" Ember ordered.

Tesla and Boltund plus the friendly Magnemite from before sent a powerful Thunder Shock towards Muk rendering it unconscious, Ember threw a special pokéball at it, making it an instant capture when it didn't resist.

She picks up the Pokéball and sighed, "Glad that's over." Then the Pokéball disappeared which meant that it was transported to Prof. Oak's lab.

Magnemite flew over to Tesla and Boltund who looked better than before. Then Magnemite closed eye smiled and floated around Ember.

"Do you want to come with me?" She asked.

Magnemite nodded 'yes'.

"Okay then." Ember took out a spare Pokéball and tapped the magnet Pokémon. It was sucked into the Pokéball and it instantly dinged. Then it disappeared, transported to Oak's coral.

The special Pokéball was a Pokéball designed to hold a Pokémon who have a nasty smell and won't leak the smell out.

The next morning Ember, Misty and Brock spoke to Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy, before they left. But before that Nurse Joy gave a check up on Ember's Pokémon and assured Ember that they have a clean bill of health. Then Ember remembered her two new Pokémon and knew that Prof. Oak won't be happy about her new Muk.

"You see, the Grimer's and Muk were in the stream because the water is filthy and dirty." Ember informed.

"Yeah, this place needs a really good clean up." Misty suggested.

"I know, Ember, Misty, Brock, we'll do everything we can until the water is clean once more." Officer Jenny assured them.

"But if you clean up the air and water around here, the city will be as good as new and it may become lively again." Ember advised.

"Yeah, no Grimer or Muk." Brock added.

"Of course we will," Nurse Joy smiled, "Promise."

"Bye Nurse Joy, Officer Jenny!" Ember said.

"Goodbye!" Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny bid the gang farewell.
