StarscreamxAlexis 4-Life
Chapter 5
The Autobots and children all gathered in the control room. Once everyone was there, Optimus began explaining the situation. The red truck stepped to the screen and pointed to the red dot that showed an active mini-con location.
"We know there's a mini-con," Hot Shot spoke. "Why aren't we moving yet?"
"Because this is not the only one." Optimus pressed a button and the map zoomed out, showing two more red dots hundreds of miles away from each other.
"Why have multiple mini-cons awoken at once?" asked Blur.
"Could it be another combiner weapon?"
"I don't know Hot Shot, but the Decepticons are already on the move in these locations." One more button push showed vehicles swooping each of the areas.
"We will split into teams of three. Smokescreen, you'll be with me. Blurr, you'll be teaming with Scavenger. And since Jetfire is still recovering, Hot Shot and Sideswipe will be with Red Alert. Let's move."
Starscream's hands tightened as he watched them leave. This was a mistake, with Jetfire out of commission, they need all the help they could get. Yet, Starscream was still confined to the base. He wanted to voice his displeasure with the situation, but he didn't.
"Good luck guys."
"You'll waste those Decepta-jerks."
Starscream glanced at the children, cheering on as they left. Is this what he was supposed to do now, sit back and cheer on the others to battle? That's not what he wanted. He was meant for battle.
Starscream attempted to leave the room, but the kids called out to him.
"Do you want to watch the battle in the rec room with us again?"
"No thanks," he said quickly.
"Are you going to work on the ship?"
"I'm going to train." He began walking down the hall, hoping they'd leave it at that.
"So, you're going to be swinging your sword in that big empty room?" Starscream glanced back. All 5 of them were following him. Couldn't they just leave him alone?
"We'll watch you for a bit. Might be fun."
"Look!" Starscream yelled, stopping in his tracks. He was about to tell them to get lost, but he held back. After taking a moment, he spoke. "I want to be alone right now, go watch the battle."
Starscream left, not risking the chance they'd reply. When he made it to his usual training room, he pulled out his wing sword and looked at the blade. Already he felt more relaxed, holding a weapon, battling, that's what he was meant to do.
"You want to tell me what's wrong?"
Starscream glanced and saw Alexis with her mini-con Sureshock. She was staring right at him, her arms folded. There it was that look of determination in her eyes. Once again Alexis was here wanting to know what was bothering him, and if he told her to leave right now, she'd press the issue. It was infuriating but in a weird way fascinating.
"The Autobots need me right now," Starscream said, knowing that telling Alexis the truth was the fastest way to get her to leave. "Especially with Jetfire recovering. They need everyone out in the field, and they still persist with this punishment."
"I know you're annoyed, but the Autobots will be fine," Alexis insisted. "They know what they're doing."
"It doesn't matter," Starscream growled out. "I'm a soldier, I was born to fight. I know I could help way more in the field then I could ever do here. But instead, I'm stuck here and can only watch as my comrades are out there fighting without me."
After a few moments of silence, Starscream turned his gaze to Alexis and saw her smiling. "What are you grinning about?" he asked annoyed.
"You just called the Autobots your comrades," she took a few steps forward. "You're accepting more and more that you're an Autobot."
Starscream grimaced, "Of course I have. This is the side I've chosen. I wan-"
Starscream stopped, the lights in the room switched off and the door slammed shut. Having a bad feeling, Starscream activated his night vision.
"Starscream, what's going on? Has the power gone out?" Alexis said. Starscream saw the concern growing on her face.
"Sureshock, make some light." The orange mini-cons eyes lit up. Hopefully some vision would keep Alexis calm.
"This shouldn't happen to Cybertronen technology," Starscream muttered to himself. He activated his long-range communication. "Optimus Prime, somethings happened to the base. Do you read?" There was no reply, not even the sound of static. He tried sending a signal to Jetfire. "Jetfire, do you read me?" Still nothing. That wasn't good, if he was in recharge during this shut down, it might be impossible to wake him up.
"Starscream, what's going on?"
Starscream could tell Alexis was shaken by all this. Still, he couldn't just lie to her that everything was fine. "I think someone has sabotage the base. Even the communication frequency is out." He flipped open a panel on his arm and started pressing keys. "I'm going to try something."
"Sabotage? What do you mean? What are you going to do?!"
"If I can't get an Autobot frequency out, I'll try a Decepticon one." After a few more presses he got the signal established.
"Swindle, it's Starscream. Where are you in the base and is it the same as where I am?"
"Screamer, everything is shut down here," Swindle beeped. "The doors are also sealed shut. Please tell me you've been able to get to the Autobots."
"No, communications are down as well. Tell me where you are in the base and are there any mini-cons with you?"
"I'm in the ship bay. It's me and five other mini-cons. We were working on the ship to Cybertron together," There was a pause before Swindle continued. "The Star Saber mini-cons are with me Screamer."
This wasn't good. Starscream had to get to Swindle. "Swindle, I'll try to make my way to you. Stay put and contact me if anything suspicious happens."
"So, you're alive Starscream?"
The Red Jet completely froze at the new voice in their communication. Damn it, he should've known he was behind this. Only Thrust would've thought of a plan like this.
"Don't let me interrupt the conversation. I've learned a lot, like the Autobots are building a ship, my dear friend Starscream is still alive and my favourite, the Starsaber mini-cons are indeed here."
Starscream's body was shaking in anger at just the sound of his voice. "Where the hell are you? Come out and fight!"
"Now, now Starscream. This is a good chance for us to catch up. Meet me in this ship bay of yours, it will be a perfect setting." The communication went dead. Suddenly the door to the room he was in opened. This was very strange. Even if he could take out the power, it shouldn't be possible for Thrust to control individual systems.
But he couldn't worry about that right now. Now Thrust knew they have been building a ship and he would no doubt destroy it to stop any chance of us getting home. And the Star Saber mini-cons were in the room. He can't waste time trying to contact anyone or going to Jetfire, he had to go and fight.
"Starscream, what are we going to do?!"
He glanced down at Alexis. She was trying to look at him sternly, but he could tell she was afraid. She must have heard every word.
"Stay here and don't move. I'll deal with this." Starscream left.
"Starscream!" he heard Alexis shout. "You can't go, it's suicide." The sound of her footsteps following him made him stop.
"Sureshock, grab her." Starscream commanded.
After a moment, Alexis stopped moving. "Let go of me Sureshock! Starscream!"
Starscream glanced back for a brief moment, making certain Sureshock had a secure grip. She was struggling to get herself free, but she could never get out of a mechs grip. His Spark felt at ease knowing she would no longer follow him. He started moving again.
This was very frustrating. He had waited for his moment to get back at Thrust, but in the base with the ship and mini-cons being endanger, he couldn't fight at his best. Thrust mind for battle was something else, he was clearly at a disadvantage.
When Starscream made it to the Ship Bay, the doors opened. He stepped inside, he could see Swindle and the other mini-cons he mentioned standing by the ship.
The door shut behind him and the lights turned on in the room. Thrust shimmered into view in front of him. Starscream raised his blade.
"So, it's true. You're alive." Thrust took a step closer to him. "I thought when I hadn't seen you in battle that my attack finished you for good." Starscream's gripped tightened. "Is it because you're afraid to face me in battle, or have the Autobots relegated you to a pet?"
"Enough!" Starscream moved to strike, but it was blocked by Thrust, who wielded a blade of his own. Starscream tried to press forward with an attack but Thrust maneuverer around as if it was nothing.
"You have continued to train I see, but can you do this?" Thrust vanished before his eyes. Moments later, he felt a blow to his back, sending him against the wall. Starscream turned around and saw Thrust pointing his blade at his throat.
"You're good, but you'll never be a match for me."
Starscream growled smacking the blade away from him and attempted to attack again. For a moment, Starscream thought he saw an opening. But before he could do anything, Thrust once again shimmered out of sight. He looked around and Saw Thrust standing a distance away.
"It's useless you fool!" Thrust vanished again and Starscream froze as he felt the bot standing at his side. "I am on another level then you."
He wasn't going to let Thrust toy with him like this. Starscream ploughed his body into Thrust, sending him into the wall, but thrust vanished again before he could follow up.
"Hahaha, if there is one thing, I can admire about you it's your persistence," Starscream turned and saw Thrust behind him. "But now I'm growing bored." He came at Starscream with a strike, which Starscream hastily blocked.
This was ridiculous, was he really this useless in battle? Had his training really been for nothing? Starscream was no match for Thrust if he continued to battle like this. As much as it disgusted him, he'd have to fight on Thrust's level if he had any chance.
In a moved of desperation, Starscream put the whole force of his body in a strike, which was enough to make Thrust stumble to the ground. On instinct, Starscream pulled a small knife from his side and stabbed Thrust in the shoulder before he could teleport.
The Conehead grunted in pain for a moment before kicking Starscream away. Thrust stood up and pulled the knife out of his shoulder. Starscream could see the anger in his optics.
"So, there might be a little Decepticon left in you after all." Thrust seethed as he moved to strike.
As Starscream blocked, he noticed Thrust anger made his attacked more erect. When he saw an opening, Starscream Smashed his fist into Thrust's injured shoulder, causing him step back in pain. Taking advantage, Starscream brought his wing sword down into Thrust hand. The blade ripped through the metal, severing two of his fingers and causing him to drop his blade. Starscream quickly kicked the blade away. The holler that conehead gave was the most satisfying sound he'd heard in his life.
"What happen to all your confidence Thrust?" Starscream grinned.
"Shut up you traitor!" Thrust yelled. "You think I need a weapon to kill you?"
He vanished and felt a blow to his back. Thrust was already gone by the time he turned round and there was another strike from behind. Starscream tried looking around to catch him, but every time he caught a glimpse, he was already vanishing. A hard kick to his back sent him to the ground. He quickly tried to pull himself to his feet.
"Starscream, use us." He looked down and saw the Star Saber mini-cons combining into the blade. It was risky to use them, but this might be his only chance. He picked up the blade and looked around the room. He had to focus. He might only get one chance at this.
There was a shimmer in the corner of his optic. Starscream moved, plunging the Star Saber into Thrust' wounded shoulder. Starscream, he then brought his wing sword to Thrust neck.
"It's over you Conehead freak!"
"I've had enough of this." Starscream froze. He knew that voice. Turning around he saw Sideways staring at him. "Let go of Thrust, or this human gets it." He raised his fist and Starscream looked in horror as he saw Alexis. The girl was doing everything she could to get free. Damn it, did Sureshock let her go?
"Let go of me!" Alexis cried; the sound of her voice sent chills throughout Starscream's entire being.
"Alexis!" Starscream pulled the Star Saber from Thrust shoulder and made a move for Sideways. "Let her go!"
"Another step and Alexis is crushed." Sideways said chillingly. Starscream stopped moving. "Give me the Star Saber."
He was in an impossible situation. If he doesn't give Sideways the blade now, he would kill Alexis right in front of him. But if he gave them this blade, the war could be over. Life on Cybertron and Earth depend on the Autobots keeping this weapon. He knew that he couldn't give this to them no matter what. He knew that but….
How about you start by saying Thank you?
I really thought you were going to die. I was scared and angry and worried
You're accepting more and more that you're an Autobot.
You are worthy of this chance.
A smash to the back of his body sent Starscream crashing to the ground. Before he could even lift himself up, a foot smashed against the back of his head.
"You slagging troublesome pest." Starscream hollowed as two blaster shots were fired into his left arm. He watched helplessly as Thrust picked up the Star Saber. When Thrust removed his foot Starscream tried to get back to his feet, but another blast was fired into one of his legs.
"Why the hell are the Decepticons working with that virus again?!" Starscream grunted out, looking at the two bots above him.
"Ha! You think those short-sighted fools know a thing?" Thrust said with a chackle. "They also believe there are three mini-cons now as they battle the Autobots."
Wait, if there weren't any mini-cons, then this was a trap from the start? But Thrust and Sideways had a whole plan that didn't involve the Decepticons at all? What in the name of Primus was happening? If these guys are not working with Autobots or Decepticons, is there some kind of third party on Cybertron now?
"That's enough Thrust," Sideways said.
Some of the blanks were starting to be filled in. "You are the reason they want all the combiner mini-cons?!" Starscream yelled. "What in Primus are you Sideways?"
"Shut up!" Thrust smashed his foot into the side of Starscream's face, knocking him on his back.
"Starscream, no!" He heard Alexis cry.
"Destroy their ship Thrust," Sideways commanded. The Autobots are too dangerous to our plan. I'll crush this girl."
"No, give her to me." Thrust said coldly.
"What did he say?" Starscream thought as he lifted himself up in a sitting position. He saw Swindle and the other two mini-con at his side, beeping if he was ok. He looked up at the two other mechs, Thrust looked him directly in the optic.
"What in Primus are you up to?" Sideways asked.
"You clearly have no mind for strategy." Thrust eyes turned to Alexis in Sideways hand. "I think Starscream has a fondness for the human's that work with the Autobots. Even from behind, I could tell by his body language that he was very tempted to give you the Star Saber." Thrust eyes turned back to Starscream. "Whether it's just this girl or all the humans I cannot say, but now we know his weakness. And if I continue to hold that weakness, then Starscream could be a very useful tool to the both of us."
Starscream looked in horror as Sideways handed Alexis over to Thrust.
"Starscream, help me!" she cried out.
He tried desperately to stand up, but his leg and arm made it impossible to get off the ground.
"Get the Star Saber back to the Decepticons," Sideways demanded. "I will find you when I need to." Sideways turned into a form of black energy and disappeared.
"Let go of her right now!" Starscream yelled. He couldn't let them do this.
"Starscream, I do hope we see each other again." A blaster rose from Thrust wrist. Starscream could tell he was aiming at one of the Thrusters of the ship.
"Get down!" Starscream flung his body over Swindle and the other two mini-cons. He could hear the shot fired and within seconds, he felt the shockwave of debris and fire hitting him in the back. Bits of metal was getting lodged into his back but he kept his ground to protect Swindle.
Once it was over, Starscream lifted himself up. He looked around but Thrust was already gone. Starscream had completely failed. They had taken the mini-cons and now they had a hostage, Alexis.
"Slag it all!" Starscream yelled, slamming his one good arm against the ground. How could he let this happens? He kept wanting to get in battle and then he goes and fails everything at once. He had to find out a way to Get Alexis and the Starsaber back.
"Swindle!" Starscream yelled with all he could muster. "Is the communication back online?"
After a moment, Swindle checked. "Looks good to me."
"Get a message to Optimus immediately. We need him back her to figure out a plan."
"Yes sir!" Swindle sent a message as Starscream sat there, feeling completely powerless.
No matter what it took, he'd at least get Alexis back to the Autobots. Even if he had to bring down the entire Decepticon force, he would save her.
Author's Note: The next two chapters have been ones that have been in my head since I began writing this. I am looking forward to working on them.
Thank you for reading. I hope everyone is staying safe during these troubled times.
