The Island of Berk.
Other Islands have pest sometimes, but Berk has dragon raids.
The Chief of Berk is Stoick 'The Vast' Haddock.
His wife Valka Haddock.
Together they tried a couple of times to have a baby and during the pregnancy, Valka lost the unborn child.
The third time, Valka had to give birth to a baby boy two months early before the due date.
They named him Hiccup Horrendous Haddock The Third.
She was scared to lose her son because he was sick and probably wouldn't survive winter.
Stoick prayed to Odin to help his son survive and become a fighter like him.
Two months later, Alistair and Ingrid Hofferson had a little girl that they named Astrid Giggles Hofferson.
The elder read her runes and told the chief "a Haddock she will become after he beats her in a duel to solidify her hand in marriage."
Stoick curious ask the elder "what did the runes say about my son?"
The elder replies "your son's runes said "he would be the one to end the dragon raid with the help of a black dragon while dealing with pain of his past."
Stoick ask "my son will have pain in his life?"
The elder shakes her head "emotional pain."
Stoick leaves the hut thinking "what would cause my son emotional pain in his life?"
Valka and Ingrid were hanging out while Hiccup and Astrid slept next to each other.
Two months later Spitelout and Avila had a son that they named Snotlout Jorgenson.
Two weeks later, the Thorsten had twins that they named Tuffnut for the boy and Ruffnut for the girl because they were tuff to deliver.
A week later, the Ingermens had a son named Fishlegs.
Two months later, Valka and Ingrid were like sisters and had their son and daughter lay together as playmates.
Valka comments "they look cute laying together."
Ingrid nods her head "yes, they do, her birth runes stated that a Haddock will beat her in a duel and solidify their engagement to each other."
Valka nods her head "Hiccup looks too weak to beat Astrid in a duel. His runes said he would end the dragon raid with the help of a black dragon while dealing with emotional pain."
Ingrid gaped and looks down at Hiccup "he will suffer emotional pain and end the dragon raid?"
At night, a dragon raid took place.
Valka tried to get the villagers to find another way to solve their dragon problem and wonder if her son is the one to end dragon raids.
She looked up at the hill where her house is to spot a dragon break into her house and panics "Hiccup!"
She takes off running to her house to save Hiccup.
Stoick was commanding villagers on what to do.
He catches site of a dragon break into his house through a window where Hiccup would be sleeping in his crib.
Valka ran into her house, up the stairs and yells "stay away from my so-" but stops to see a storm cutter letting Hiccup hold his claw nail while cooing at the baby.
Hiccup giggles, playing with the claw nail.
The storm cutter coos after studing the baby "this boy doesn't fear our kind, which might be the chosen one to end the dragon war."Valka watches in a trancelike way.
Stoick ran up the stairs and lifted his axe to slay the dragon.
The storm cutter roared and grabbed Valka scared that he was going to attack the girl and flew North.
Stoick grabbed Hiccup trying to calm him down.
The dragon accidentally cut Hiccup's chin when it turned to Stoick.
They didn't know that the storm cutter accidentally cursed and cured Hiccup with a little dragon DNA to have a connection with all dragons in the world.
Hiccup doesn't even know what happened to himself.
Stoick took Hiccup to Gothi to clean his cut.
Gothi cleaned Hiccup's chin and caught a feeling of something strange and gasped at seeing him develope a connection with dragons, but also, him have a unbelievable future with emotional pain with just symbol of items that she doesn't understand.
Afterwards, Stoick took Hiccup home to lay him down and go to sleep after a dragon raid.
Next morning, Stoick got up and checked on Hiccup to see him sleeping.
He sighs "how am I going to take care of Hiccup and run a village at the same time?"
Hiccup woke up crying and Stoick picked him up out of his crib and changed his diaper and then took him downstairs to feed him a bottle of yak milk.
After that, he carried Hiccup out and walked down the hill to visit Gobber at the forge.
Gobber comments "hi, bestfriend!"
Stoick sighs rubbing his forehead "it's going to be difficult raising Hiccup and running a village at the same time."
Gobber comments "you'll do fine with raising Hiccup."
Stoick sighs "his birth runes were confusing. He gets a black dragon to help him end the dragon war while dealing with emotional pain from his past."
Gobber comments "the emotional pain is probably losing his mother when he learns of it?"
Stoick nods his head "that could be it, but a black dragon helps him end the dragon raids, that's unheard of."
Ingrid stops by the forge with baby Astrid in her arms to see Stoick holding Hiccup in his arms and ask "do you want to continue Hiccup and Astrid's playdate to grow their bond with each other?"
Stoick nods his head "yes, and it would allow me to help repair the village after the dragon raid last night."
He drops Hiccup off at the Hoffersons house so that Hiccup can bond with Astrid.
After Stoick set Hiccup down next to Astrid and lefted to go take care of the village, Hiccup laid next to Astrid sleeping and unknowingly grabbed Astrid's hand to hold.
Ingrid walked in the room after cleaning dishes to see Hiccup and her daughter holding hands while sleeping next to each other.
She grins "you two are going to make an adorable couple when you both start dating and get married."
