Prologue
The Girl Who Dreamed
A girl looked at the blazing inferno before her with a dazed expression. Her ruby eyes reflecting the burning wreck of a car before her with that of disbelief.
The foam wand she held in her hand fell onto the ground as she was beholden to the horrifying sight.
"Mamma!" she cried out in shock as she ran to the wreck. Her small legs only braving to stay right outside of the burning heat.
Blood rushed through her veins as panic set in. Her eyes dilated in shock and her legs shook. "Mamma!" she cried out louder as she took a shaky step closer only to recoil as the heat licked her.
Tears rolled freely on her face as she could only stand there, helpless at the sight before her.
Eventually, her legs gave out as she fell on her butt with pure shock still pumping inside of her.
Then, due to the jumble of sheer shock from the event, her world blackened.
The world is unfair that was what Illya had decided back then. Its decisions upon the individuals were unbalanced. The reward for one's suffering often does not fulfill one's expectations or weight.
A whole lifetime could lead up to save the world from outside forces only to witness it destroy itself at the end of their life.
One could strive to save everyone only to fall into their hypocrisy by killing.
One could be birthed with a happy family only to spiral into despair when it is snatched from them.
Yet, some accept those unfair conditions and push on. Those who fight with vigor, conviction, and with bravery. They are called Heroes.
"Illya-chan! My date is in an hour! Wake up!"
Illya's eyes shot open wide as her heartbeat rose. Panic set in as she scrambled out of her bed.
"I-I'm awake!" she called back as she ran to the bathroom. She hastily discarded her pajamas and jumped into the shower.
As the steaming warm water poured on her, Illya stared at her toes. Blinking a bit, she raised her arms and tried to touch the shower curtain hanger. She even used her tippy toes to attempt to touch it.
Yet, it was to no avail as she fell short of touching it.
Sighing in disappointment, she carefully went back to her feet and continued to shower.
After the refreshing shower, she exited and made her way back to her room. On her way there, she briefly saw her mother eating at the table eating some toast.
"Good morning!" she greeted out loud as she swiftly entered her room.
"Hey! Why did you leave the bathroom when you are still wet?! We still have forty minutes!" her mother shouted in what amounted to indignation rather than unbridled anger.
"Sorry!" Illya apologized simply as she shut her door and quickly equipped her clothes. She threw on her junior high school uniform of a shirt, blouse, undershirt, tie, and stockings.
After finishing by drying her hair with a blow dryer and good old towel drying, she ran out of her room and made her way to the kitchen.
"Why are you in such-?!" her mother blinked her blue eyes a bit before turning to the calendar. She then gasped in absolute shock as she was reminded what today was. "Oh. So it was today..."
Her mother's irate behavior immediately vanished as a regretful expression took hold.
In the light of the somewhat saddened atmosphere that now developed, Illya merely brushed past it with a big smile. "It's fine!" she said simply as she grabbed a piece of toast from her mother's plate. "Let's go!"
"Tsuchikawa, let us break up."
Tsuchikawa, Illya's "mother", felt her soul get crushed with the combination of the realization of her accidental ignorance of today and the phone call. She could feel herself crumble away bit by bit.
Therefore, she was in no shape to respond in time, and by the time she came to her boyfriend hung up.
"Ugh..." she groaned as she leaned on the steering wheel. "What a shit start..." she grumbled as she looked to the cemetery on her right.
There, Illya sat in front of a tombstone.
Tsuchikawa -- first name Ryuko -- kept her eyes on the road with a tired gaze. She quirked her lips in minor frustration as she tried to conjure up some talk with her daughter. "So..." she began cautiously, "what did you talk to her about?"
Illya looked at her toes with a frown, slightly uncomfortable. "I... I talked about what happened since I last visited, you know, the normal stuff."
An awkward silence took hold as Ryuko tried to decide on how to approach this. "Did you tell her... What your dream is, yet?" she asked hesitantly as she sent glances at Illya.
"Yup! I did!" she replied surprisingly enthusiastically, alleviating the atmosphere in the car massively. "I told her I am going to become a magical girl!"
Feeling a bit comfortable now, Ryuko smiled as they pulled up to Illya's school. "That's good! Now go out there and ace your classes so you can do so!"
Illya exited the car and once she did, she turned around with her ruby eyes shining like a gem as her fairy white hair fluttered in the wind. "Thank you!"
This is the story of a girl who despite having the most unfair trade in the world kept smiling.
The girl who is like the Illyasviel von Einzbern you know of yet different.
She is the magical girl of hope and possibilities.
She is the holy grail of the Fifth Holy Grail War.
She is the girl who wields the power of heroes.
She is the girl who holds the contents of heroes.
She is the one who dared to dream despite the ails it will do to herself.
Now, that you are hopefully hooked... Why don't you press that favorite button?
Prologue End
Uh yeah, I rewrote the prologue.
Confused a bit? Well, have no fear because I am sick and rewatching the whole of my hero academia.
Well, "rewatching" is a bit of a stretch it is more like watching it for the first time. Yup, you heard me.
I fucking wrote a my hero academia fanfiction without watching the anime or reading the manga.
I cobbled it on a poll because I figured: "Hey, I probably should give them a choice!" Yeah, the worst mistake of this month.
Anyhow, I finally got my shit together and planned out her backstory and have a somewhat vague idea of what her powers, or more specifically her "quirk" is.
Still have to plan the first arc though it would probably not deviate from the first arc of the canon too much. Was thinking of putting Illya in the school with the cool female uniforms but I figured: "Nah, I don't know shit about them."
Anyhow, I do hope most of you aren't those shippers because I will mostly refrain- OH WHY HAVE HALF OF YOU GUYS GONE ALREADY?! OH FOR FUCKS SAKE!
Fine, I will see what "pairings" are somewhat believable based on their personalities... No promises... For now...
SaveTheWeak, out.
And no, it ain't covid.
