Author's note 1:

Apparently our dear fanfiction decided to take my story down for explicit sexual content when there are multiple fanfictions out there with themes far worse than mines.

Go check out "An offering for the Hive", it is a Alien vs Predator fanfiction and it is mind blowing by the amount of no sense and sexual content inside. And mine was taken down?

But I'm not giving up yet, this is actually a good opportunity for a remaster to show my full abilities in writing English in a, almost, perfect manner. (aside from some small errors here and there).

So, enjoy the remastered version!

Darkness…

My eyes slowly opened, a bright light shining upon them.

I groaned in annoyance and pinched them, getting acquainted with my surroudings.

I was in my room, a few clothes scattered on the floor and my naked chest exposed to cold air.

A sniff escaped from me as I recalled what happened last night: a party for my classmates' successful grades, along with our eighteen years old birthday for many of us.

It seemed I pretty much fucked up with the alcohol but somehow managed to get back home.

The main doubt that plagued me was: did I, accidently, had sex with anyone?

Seeing how I was alone, the answer was almost clear as the day, but one drunk guy just waking up from a slumber couldn't exactly be sure about anything.

Promising to never touch that stuff again, or at least in major quantity, I slid a t-shirt and rushed for the bathroom. Quickly washing my face, I scrubbed my teeth of whatever food still stuck between them as well as the disgusting taste of beer.

I massaged my temples but froze. "Well… shit." This wonderful curse escaped my dry lips.

If my mother saw me in this state she would either kill or ground me for the rest of my life. Which in a way I kinda deserved it after my stunt last night, though I suppose the killing part was too much even for a blossoming flower such as her.

I shook my head and prepared for the worst.

I noticed I left the TV opened last night, with the volume all the way down. Perhaps little drunken me wanted something in the background to properly sleep…

Too bad that was the channel for cartoons and currently up was a Spongebob episode.

That definitely earned a facepalm from me.

"Why… why me?" The question of course did not receive a concrete answer.

I descended from the stairs towards the living room, slightly slumbering from how sore my limbs felt as well as leaning on the doorframes of each room.

Despite my mother working, our family had a secured bank account with millions of dollars inside. A small fortune my father made before disappearing from our lives, I supposed work was what, in part, kept her sanity under check.

I suddenly smelled some delicious flavor coming from the kitchen and only after a few moments did I realize that mom never coocked. I had to prepare my own breakfast and quicky rush for school.

A special occasion maybe?

"Ah, good morning Alex." My mother said, a beeming smile on her face.

I raised an eyebrow and made my way to the table, making sure to not give away any clues on my current state, unless she already knew.

I settled down with a huff and tapped a finger on the surface, a nervous smile surfing on my lips.

"Yeah, it was chaos yesterday, I thankfully found my way back home with no drunk man on my toes." That is because I was drunk myself, but I let that one out.

"That's good, you've finally become responsible."

"Oh, if you knew, mom." Giving a thumbs-up, I watched as she placed a plate with bacon and eggs on the table and I quickly took it.

Classic American breakfast, uh? God bless this country, I guess.

It was however unnerving the way she stared at me as I ate.

I finally had enough courage to question her strange behavior.

"Alright then, may I ask why you're watching me like that?"

A knowing grin spread and she interwinded her hands together. "What? You just forgot what tomorrow is? After all we've been planning the package today since I made that promise, I knew you would pass your exam with those grades, your father would be proud."

Shrugging off the chilling up my spine at the mention of dad, I searched my half turned off mind for what "tomorrow" meant.

I dropped the fork on the plate in surprise. "I-it's tomorrow?!"

Mom giggled and offered me something from her pockets:

A ticket for Jurassic World, with the beautiful stamp of Rexy on it. Exactly twenty dollars needed, not that bad for seeing giant reborn dinosaurs.

"As I said, I promised you this if everything went as planned. Are you ready for a trip to Jurassic World?"

It was my turn to grind this time, raising a fist up. "Hell yes! Finally, a good opportunity to eject some steam out of my system…" I leaned in to whisper. "…maybe I can lose myself to my more childish side."

She laughed. "Well, it all depends on how you'll deal with Owen, honey. I'm sure he'll be quite nice to spend time with."

My grin slightly fell.

Ah, right. Owen Grady, ex U.S. Navy. I didn't know much about the guy other than he was and is an employer at Jurassic World.

Mom clearly wanted me to have a guide at the place, and while I didn't need a body guard I knew I would get lost in there. Though I was quite lucky that mom is a friend of Owen.

"Yeah…" I eventually said, stuffing more eggs in my mouth. "…can't wait to meet him."

"Ah, there you are, Ana! Been some time since we've seen each other, uh?"

I rolled my eyes at the flirtatious way Owen kissed my mother's cheeck in greeting, thankfully she isn't dating or searching for another guy.

"I'm sure you'll get along just fine with Alex."

I perked up from my phone at that and watched how Owen shifted his attention on me, putting his hands on his hips. "Ah! So you're the sport, been a while since I last saw you…" He glanced to the side. "…which was in a picture, you've quite grown up."

He extended a hand. "Owen, Owen Grady."

I grasped it and smiled. "Alex, but you already knew that, right?"

Owen actually laughed at my poor attempt of a joke. "You're smart, kid…" He rubbed his wrists. "…and you've got a good grip too. A few work outs and you'll be able to tuck me in bed."

"Keep dreaming."

Mom quickly kissed my cheeck and started walking towards our car. "Have fun, boys. I'll see you soon!"

I rubbed the place where she kissed and went for the bags… but an arm stopped me.

"I'll handle this, Alex." Owen gripped all the bags, be it under his shoulders or on his shoulders.

A smug smirk adorning his bearded face.

"You're such a playboy Mr. Grady."

"Don't call me that…" But a smile eventually revealed itself. "…and you're right, kid."

Slumpering in my seat, I patiently waited for Owen to settle all of the bags before turning on my phone.

"Already on that, kid? Don't you want to talk a bit before frying your brain?"

I mmm-ed, a finger on my chin. "It all depends on what topic you choose Owen. Though if it is about women, I swear I'll toss you off this plane."

He raised his hands in surrender. "Okay, okay! Geez. Nah, it wasn't that I wanted to speak about, more like my profession at Jurassic World, Alex."

That caught my attention, I gestured to him. "Spill the beans, man."

"Promise me you won't mention this to your mother? She would kinda freak out and I wouldn't want to destroy our relationship after so many years."

Setting aside my confusion, I crossed my fingers. "Boyscout promise."

"Alright…" He exhaled from his mouth, forming the classic "o". "…I-I actually train velociraptors, four of them to be exact. A whole pack."

"You're fucking with me." I glared. Why would he joke like that?

He smirked. "Why would I do that? I'm interested in women you know."

Seems like my glare was enough for him to be serious and get back on track.

"No, I'm not. You wanna see some pictures?" He opened his own phone and gestured to its screen. "Here."

Well, fucking, shit.

Four baby velociraptors were in a straight line, staring at the camera. Owen was probably the one who took the shot and ordered them to stay still.

"Of course now they've grown up in killing machines, but they're still my girls."

Ah, of course. All of the dinosaurs were females, controlled breed or other bullshits I heard from social medias.

"So! This one's Delta, this is Charlie, this is Echo…" He said, pointing to each raptor to make sure I would memorize the names. "And this…" The emphasis on that word was a bit too much, I leaned in to listen. "…this is Blue."

A fitting name considering the blue stripes I could locate on either side of the raptor's head, which continued down her body.

"Let me guess…" I cleared my throat. "…you didn't want her to be named 'Bravo' and saw the stripe as a good opportunity to avoid any unnecessary naming?"

Owen rubbed his neck. "Pretty much."

I looked back to the picture. "So, who's the Alpha?"

A proud grin formed on his face as he passed a hand through his hair. "You're looking right at him."

"Figures, you're the one who trains them after all." I leaned in my seat and closed my eyes. "Not impressed at all, Mr. Grady."

"So, you're not interested in the man who's going to introduce you to these four raptors? After all, we may have to wait a few months or even years to even think about showing them to the audience, and it seems you don't want to be the first ever customer."

My eyes snapped open at that statement… and let's just say that a good portion of the trip was me firing question after question to the trainer.

Eventually I fell asleep, with the phone on my lap, still turned off.

Author's note 2:

Seeing as my English has reached medium tier levels, I gotta work on chapters' length now.

Until next time!
