"Ah, I won't dare to do that in my life! He's too cute..." thought Judy as she locked her door. At this point she didn't want to see anyone. She wanted to be alone with her thoughts and the report that was waiting for her to complete. She wanted to tell him about her feelings, but was afraid to tell him for fear of his reaction. What if he only proposed friendship?
"Maybe tomorrow I'll tell" thought a resigned Judy as she sat down at the computer. It was a medium sized room with a cork board on the wall, a scanner with a printer stood opposite Judy and next to the rabbit was the only window in the room. The corkboard was mostly pictures of her with Nick, the fox had similar ones in his room, they explained to each other that it was out of friendship, although Judy kept them for another reason. Rabbit started filling in a report about her police day shortly afterwards. In it she had to include details of where she was on patrol, who her partner was when she was on patrol, the number of people stopped , and for what reason they were stopped. On the occasion that Nick and Judy worked together all the time, Nick filled in the details of the offenders they had caught so that Judy didn't have to. The collaboration was very fruitful because then they both had less work to do. Rabbit got caught up in writing the report. She didn't even notice how quickly time passed while filling out the documents. Judy looked at her watch - it showed 7.30 p.m. It was already sunset, which was very beautiful. The bloody sun was hiding behind the horizon, so that the light that came into the room where Judy was staying was orange. There were black, menacing looking clouds coming from the distance, most likely storm clouds. Putting them aside, it was a great view, but Judy had to focus on the report to get it completed before 8 p.m. Nick would probably be waiting for her. She didn't need to focus on the report, she knew perfectly well what to type in. Entering such reports every day made Judy automatically enter everything correctly and quickly. As if she were some kind of mechanism. She thought of Nick, who again today had acted very nice towards her by defending her name when James had insulted her. It was very sweet and when she thought about it her heart started beating fast.
"He would be such a good boyfriend..." sighed Judy being careful not to do it out loud. Nick had pulled more than one prank for Judy, who walked around embarrassed afterwards. Once he even ordered flowers for her, with the signature of an animated admirer. He wrote on a card that they should meet after her shift in the police station car park. Judy spent half a day talking excitedly about it to Nick, who listened patiently while nodding affirmatively. When the time finally came, Judy was met with such embarrassment that it was the first time she had been so red with shame. Waiting in the car park was Nick, who laughed right in Judy's face. Rabbit then felt anger , but also embarrassment, making her unable to get outwardly angry at the fox. She didn't have to, because as compensation for the event, Nick bought roses especially for her. From that moment on, Judy felt that there was more to them than just friendship. As Judy pondered this, time flew inexorably forward, Judy finally finished her report, which she began to print. The clock read 8.00 p.m. Now they would most likely turn in their reports as usual, then go their separate ways. Judy would leave through the east entrance and Nick through the west entrance. This was going to be the day that Judy would be the happiest or saddest bunny in the world and in the end most likely nothing would come of it. Although she might take a chance...
From the next room came the sound of a door opening. It was Nick, who had finished writing his report and was ready to hand his card to the front desk. Judy, when her report was printed took it in her paws and opened her door. As she expected, the fox was waiting for her outside the hall looking through her card. Together they made their way to the reception area, which was already completely empty. Tuesday was the day when Nick and Judy were the latest of all to finish their work. The only employees at the time were the Janitors, who cleaned the halls and corridors.
"Well, then I'll see you tomorrow," Nick said goodbye as he put his card back on the desk. He then unclipped his badge then put it in his pocket. Judy put down her report and watched the fox, who was slowly but inexorably moving away from her towards the exit.
"Nick?" cried Judy unexpectedly drawing the attention of the fox who had stopped at the exit and turned towards the rabbit.
"What's up Carrots?" asked the fox when he noticed Judy approaching him. She decided that this was the moment. She had to take a chance. If she didn't do it now, the next attempts would be increasingly difficult. She had been planning this since the morning, she had sworn to herself that she would do it, now was the perfect time. They were alone, no one would overhear them, so if Nick turned down Judy's offer, only he would know about it. He liked the rabbit too much to tell anyone about it. She knew that perfectly well and wasn't worried about telling anyone. She had said a lot of personal things about herself for him (maybe even too much), but she felt relieved that she was saying it to someone who was actually listening to her. She approached him slowly with her head lowered down. The stress was so great that she was afraid to look at his lovely green gaze, which was incredibly sweet. However, she had to do it. She took a deep breath, then lifted her head to look straight into his emerald eyes.
"Well, I wanted to tell you this before...but...ugh...I care a lot and...ugh...you know, I think I...I mean us...something, I just think..."
Judy's verbal attempts were unsuccessful interrupting her sentence every word. The rabbit sighed heavily, then embraced the fox by the neck then kissed him on the lips. This surprised the fox, who was shocked at what Judy had done. He was so surprised by the move that he didn't even try to move away from the rabbit. It was quite a long kiss, which was finally broken when Judy noticed that Nick wasn't going to reciprocate it. The rabbit's grip on the fox's neck slowly loosened until she finally let it go by moving away from him. Her ears drooped down, her eyes became crystalline, a single tear flowed from her violet eyes. She stared into the fox's emerald eyes for a moment, he stared into her violet eyes as well, until she lowered her gaze along with her head down.
"You...no...I was dumbfounded that this could be true...thanks for answering" howled Judy quietly turning her back on Nick walking away to her exit. Nick still stood motionless being surprised by the rabbit's move.
