Hi! So this is just an idea I came up with whilst reading the spoilers for the upcoming Holby City storylines for the next few months. Obviously, I have no idea how the storyline will play out, but I've been wanting to write something with Ange and Chloe for ages because their relationship is just too lovely not to. I've got my other fanfiction 'I'm still here' completely pre-written by now so I felt it was time to write something new! Please let me know your thoughts and enjoy :)

'Mum!' Chloe hissed as she saw Ange hurrying into the lift, 'Mum, I need to tell you something!'

'Is everything all right?' Ange's rich Scottish accent rang out through the ground floor of the hospital, laced with concern over her daughter's urgent tone.

'Yes… no… it's Cam, he's not who you think he is. He-' she was cut off by Cameron's appearance at the lift. Speak of the devil, she thought as she glared at him, which did not go unnoticed by her mother.

'Chloe!' he smiled falsely. The charm interwoven between his lips was unable to cast its spell over this particular audience, which made Cameron feel uneasy. He couldn't worm his way into the affections of either of the Godards, something which he relied upon heavily. Chloe smiled back, equally falsely but with less sincerity than Cam, silencing him as he really wasn't in the mood for an argument. Hoping to continue her discussion with her mother, Chloe entered the lift too and the trio rode up in an uncomfortable silence.

Once they had all piled out, Ange hung back to speak further with her daughter, curious to find out what she knew.

'What were you saying, sweetheart?'

'Cam, he's dangerous. Mum, you have to know. Look into the patients he's treated, the deaths, the miraculous, heroic miracles he's performed. It's all fake, Mum, he's tricking everyone!' Chloe had become slightly panicked now, drawing breaths more desperately than she should have been and gesturing wildly with her hands in an attempt to convey the importance of what she was saying.

'Ok, ok, calm down. Deep breaths, Chloe, in and out. There you go,' Ange soothed before directing the conversation back to Cameron, 'what am I looking for, because I can't just accuse him of what you're suggesting?'

'I don't know! Ugh, Ms Shah's paging me, I'm needed on Darwin. Just watch out, ok? Be careful, Mum!'

'Chloe!' Ange called after her daughter as she sprinted up the stairs to Darwin, but she ignored her.
