"You should stop your pacing Peter, it's not helping anyone."

Peter turned around from his place in front of his dresser and came face to face with Nebula, smiling softly at him.

"I know, I know I'm just nervous."

"What, getting cold feet?"

"No, nothing like that! It's more excited nerves than actual nerves, you know? I just... I can't wait!" Peter exclaimed while running a hand through his hair.

Nebula walked over to him and grabbed his wrist, "Stop, you'll mess up your hair. Do you know how long they spent on trying to tame your hair?" She said with a teasing smile.

Peter huffed, "Hardy har, laugh it up Nebs."

"I will."

Peter was in his room in the compound. Gwen and him decided that they wanted to have the wedding at the Compound where they could have all their family there in attendance. All the Avengers, the guardians, some of Peter's vigilante friends, Gwen's family and even Nick fury would be in attendance.

Nebula and the rest of the guardians had gotten there that morning right before the others woke up, the only one being there to greet them was actually Peter himself.

"Aren't you supposed to be with the girls at the moment?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Perhaps, but I don't think they'll come and find me to drag me back. Besides, I feel I'm more useful here with you." She stated, causing Peter to smirk.

"Why, not a dress girl, hmm?"

Nebula playfully glared at him, "Watch it Parker."

Peter only laughed in response to her though, causing her to slightly break character and let out a small smile.

"Don't worry about it Nebs, it's cool, you don't gotta wear a dress, hell I wouldn't want you to wear one. You won't be...well, you if you did." Peter said with a sincere smile.

Nebula quietly huffed, "Enough of these emotions, let's talk about something else."

"Like what?"

"Like if you're excited to see your childhood friends again. Your last transmission a few weeks ago said you haven't been able to hang out with them as much as you would've liked."

Ahh yes, Ned and MJ. Ever since their return, he's tried to reconnect with them as much as time allowed him, but it was a little difficult when they were in school and he had to deal with adult problems all the time.

He did try to call them both at least once a week, to let them know what's been happening and tell them that he still thought of them and wished they could hang out more.

He didn't say that word for word, but he thinks they got the gist of it...

"Really excited, Ned is actually one of my groomsmen so I can't wait." Peter responded.

"Actually, now that I think about it, how did you get past all my groomsmen out there? They've been guarding that door to make sure I don't sneak away."

"You've gotta admit, if they weren't, you would sneak away, no questions asked." She smirked at him, causing the young man to scoff and roll his eyes.

"Yeah yeah whatever, you still didn't answer the question."

"Please, they were all easy to sneak by. You don't really have that great a security team you know."

"They're not supposed to be a security team, they're my groomsmen, not bodyguards."

"Are they guarding something?"

"...yes"

"Then they're a security team."

Peter huffed and started to quietly chuckle, ever since he first met Nebula, he's had the chance to watch her grow less cold towards people and he's glad that she is relaxed enough to let her true personality our when he's around.

He likes seeing her happy.

"Knock knock, Best man coming in." Harley said as he pushed open the door but his eyes widened when he came face to face with Nebula.

"Hey Smurfet, what're you doing here?" He asked with a tilted head. When the woman heard the nickname she rolled her eyes at the young man.

"Keeping the trouble maker company."

"How did you.."

"Sneak past you? It was easy, you all need to work on your skills."

Harley rolled his eyes, "Well sorry we're not all trained spies or assassins."

Nebula shrugged her shoulders before she walked over to the door, "Not my problem." She said brushing past Harley without even saying goodbye.

After she was gone, Harley turned to his best friend, "We really need to have a intervention about you making friends with every single assassin or spy in existence Ace."

Peter waved him off, "Whatever Chip."

——————

Peter stood tall as he looked out over the crowd from the makeshift alter made out of flowers.

He could see all of the heroes around the area, the guardians, the Asgardians, Avengers, family, friends, coworkers everyone was there from Laura and the kids, to Hope and Hank to even Nick Fury and Maria Hill.

Literally everyone was there.

Gwen's family has seated up front with her brothers and mother sitting down already with a couple other family members that they still were in contact with. Olivia was actually in Gwen's mother's arm at the moment. He could see her sleeping against the older woman's chest from his place up front. Her dad though was back in the compound with her getting ready to walk down the isle.

All of his vigilante friends were sitting in the back row, as to try and not have the attention drawn on them. All of them to Wade, to Matt, Felicia, Danny, Colleen, Claire, Luke, Jessica, Weasel and even Cable wanted to stop by for the wedding. Surprisingly, Kate wanted to sit back there with them, and get o know them a little bit better.

At the moment she was in a conversation with Colleen, Clare and Felicia and they looked to be all having a good talk about whatever it was they were talking about, if the smiles on the women's faces was anything to go by.

The only other member of Legacy there was Cassie who was with her family. The others promised that they'd be able to make it to the reception, but most of them had family matters to deal with first and Peter completely understood and told them to take their time.

May was sitting in the audience with Michelle to her left and Happy on her right, smiling warmly at him. He nodded to the three of them, getting nods in returns before he looked behind them towards the compound.

Towards the doors of the compound that led into the common room, he could see his biological mother leaning against the compound wall, looking at him fondly with affection laced in her eyes. One thing that all of them a greed to do was make sure May didn't see Mary at all, they didn't want to explain that to the woman and they didn't even know how to begin to explain it to her.

Peter offered her a wink causing his mother to smirk and wink back before he focused back to the present.

At the moment, he was the only one at the alter along with the honorary officiant who would pronounce him and Gwen as Husband and Wife.

Said person who was gonna perform the ceremony was Bruce.

The green doctor looked over to the young man and smiled, "Nervous?" He asked.

"Maybe just a little." He replied.

He couldn't wait for the music to start so they could get this party started already.

Lucky for him not even a second later, the music started to play and the groomsmen and Bridesmaids were walking out together.

Tony with Pepper

Ned with Emile

Steve with Natasha

Bucky with Nebula

Sam with Carol

And last but not least the Best man and Maid of Honor walked out.

Harley and Amy

As soon as Harley made it up to him, he elbowed him in the side, "Keep your cool Ace."

Peter quietly scoffed, "I'm always cool."

"Such a fucking dad joke, you absolutely disgust me." Harley said which caused Peter to smirk.

He was about to reply when Morgan started to skip down the isle throwing flowers everywhere, humming along to the song. Peter smiled warmly at her and watched as she climbed up towards her mother who was on the woman's side of the makeshift alter.

"You'll be there eventually, with the dad jokes. I see the way you and Amy look at each other, it's the same look Gwen and I have."

"Dude, chill, we haven't been dating that long."

"You've been dating almost two years. And need I remind you that the first couple months you were doing it in secret, without telling any of us, which I'm still hurt by. But before you know it, those two years turns to three, then to four then five and so on."

"Whatever asshole."

"Hey, you know when Gwen talks to you it's gonna be ten times worse, thats her childhood best friend that your fucking every other night." Peter whispered with a smirk, causing his best man to blush.

"Shut up man." He said and punched his shoulder causing Peter to lightly chuckle.

The two men were quickly distracted though when the compound doors opened ant the beginning of the isle and out walked Gwen and her father.

Peter's eyes were glued to her the whole way down the isle. The way her dress glowed in the sunlight, her blond hair lightly swaying in the breeze, her ocean blue eyes radiating love, directed at him.

He's so happy that he met her all those years ago...

He smiled affectionately at her and she did the same to him when their eyes met. George walked Gwen right up to Peter and placed her hand on his as he directed her next to the alter with him. Before George went to sit down though, he nodded once at the young man and placed his hand on Peter's shoulder before he moved over to his wife down in the audience.

The two young adults then turned their attention to Bruce, with their hands still intertwined, letting the man talk now.

"Welcome and please be seated," Bruce called out to the crowd and let the few people who were standing sit down before he continued, "When it comes to finding that special person in your life, sometimes you just know. And as we witness Peter and Gwen gaze lovingly into each other's eyes, it is obvious to everyone here that they know and have known for quite some time." He said which caused everyone in attendance to laugh and the two people of the day to blush slightly.

"Now, storybooks and romance novels talk of love at first sight and that's all right, I suppose, but I much prefer the notion of "Love at each sighting". Each time you see one another, you feel the love that has been growing inside you from the very first time you lock eyes to the next and to the next and all the way up to right now," Bruce smiled at them, "And each new time you see one another that love grows stronger. It remembers the past, imagines the wonderful future that will be and fills your heart with joy at each new encounter. And from each day to the next you know that this is the one, you know this is the person that you belong with forever. You just know, deep in your heart, you're meant for each other." Bruce finished off. Out of the corner of Peter's eye, he could see that both Harley and Tony had tears in their eyes already which he was definitely gonna tease them about later.

"I'd like to share a selection from Shakespeare's As You Like It that sums up the steps Peter and Gwen have taken to lead them here today," he said.

Bruce took a breath before he continued on to the quote though, "No sooner met but they looked, no sooner looked but they loved, no sooner loved but they sighed, no sooner sighed but they asked one another the reason, no sooner knew the reason but they sought the remedy; and in these degrees have they made a pair of stairs to marriage."

"And so, Peter and Gwen have ascended those stairs and have arrived here, at this moment, ready to declare their love and commitment to each other and in front of their family." Bruce said before he turned to look at Peter.

"Peter, do you take Gwen to be the one. The one you hold above all others, the one you hold in the highest regard, the one you hold when she needs to be held and the one you hold first and foremost in your heart and soul?" He asked. Peter smiled lovingly at Gwen before responding.

"I do." He said. He could see how her eyes were starting to water due to all the emotions but he didn't care, neither of them cared. This was probably the most happiest day of their lives.

Bruce then turned to look at Gwen with a soft smile, "And Gwen, do you take Peter to be the one. The one you hold above all others, the one you hold in the highest regard, the one you hold when he needs to be held and the one you hold first and foremost in your heart and soul?"

Gwen sniffled before nodding, "I do."

Bruce then turns to look at the crowd, "May I please have the wedding rings?" He said. Everyone watched as little Nate walked down the isle with Clint not far behind with the rings on a velvet pillow. When they got there, Clint smiled at the couple before he offered the rings to Bruce. The doctor took them and the archer and his son walked back to their seat.

"These rings have been around for all of time. They are made of the same atoms that existed at the very start of everything, just as the atoms that made you were. They are infinite and eternal, they are forever. Just as your love is, just as you both are." He said before he gave each of them a ring.

Bruce looked at Peter first, "Please repeat after me, Gwen each time I see you, it's better than the time before, which I thought impossible as each last time was near perfection. I am so lucky, happy and honored to be yours forever. With this ring, I thee wed." The doctor said.

Peter smiled, "Gwen each time I see you, it's better than the time before, which I thought...impossible as each last time was near perfection. I am so lucky, happy and honored to be yours forever. With this ring, I thee wed." He said as he slid the ring across her ring finger. Gwen bite her lip to try and stop all the emotions to come pouring out of her at the moment, she didn't want to break on her wedding day.

Bruce then turned to Gwen, "Now you."

"Peter...each time I see you, it's better than the time before, which I thought impossible as each last time was near perfection. I am so lucky, happy and honored to be yours forever. With this ring, I thee wed." She said as she too slid her ring on his ring finger.

"Many people say that love is the backbone of a marriage, and they're right, but they might not fully understand all of what "love" entails. You see, love is not static. Like everything else in life, it is subject to change. The love you feel today is very likely different than the love you felt when you first met. The love you feel today will be different than the love you feel when you celebrate your 1-year anniversary and then your 10th, then 50th, and beyond. Love is more than the feeling you get when someone makes your heart happy, love is your heart remembering the history you share with one another during times that are tough. And somehow getting through those tough times makes the good times all the more lovely. Love each other each and every day and live every day with full hearts and your bond will grow ever stronger with time."

"They knew it, they knew they were meant to be together. Now I want you all to know this: By the power vested in me today, I hereby pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss for the very first time as a married couple. May there be many more to come." Bruce finished off and the two adults didn't waste another second before they leaned towards each other and kissed, with Peter's hands coming to rest on her waist as her arms wrapped around his neck.

They could hear the cheers from the others in the crowd, from their family but they didn't care at the moment.

All that mattered was they were together, finally as husband and wife.

They knew that it wouldn't all be easy in the future but they'd deal with all the problems that popped up together, as a team.

As friends

As partners...

And they knew if they ever needed help, they had a whole group of superhero's that would come to help with just a phone call.

For once, Peter's luck looked to be on his side for a change...

"So, what do you think?"

"You know what I think Time, you've seen it, you know what happens."

"I do, I just hope he'll be ready, not everyone can recover from something like that Soul."

"I'm telling you Time, he'll be fine. He has his family supporting him and his second half. She'll be there to pick up the pieces."

"You seem to have a lot of faith in them, but I hope you're right."

"Oh, I know I'm right, after all, their souls are connected, they'll get through it, together."
