Running alongside X1 the two dashed through the city heading to their destination. Watching X1 gaining a distant 9S pushed himself hard as he notices noticed the difference in speed as they both round a lot of corners. X1 looked to his side and notices 9S was missing from view. Peeking back he saw as 9S struggled to keep up. Realizing this X1 slowly stopped as 9S passes him up.
"Wait why did you stop X1?" 9S asked
"It looked like you were having a problem keeping up. I figured I should stop so we can regroup for a second" X1 responded as he started to walk
"Thank you X1, we scanner models aren't built for combat mainly stealth missions speed isn't one of our upgrades. Gathering intel is what we are built for"
"I was wondering about that when I spotted both you and 2B. I saw other models like you but they didn't go to the front line. It was usually the B models when I met them all." X1 responded
"The B models are built for combat that is their specialized role. They are designed strictly for combat and an upgrade from the A models most of the time they are the ones doing all the combat on the field."
"Then can I ask you what is A2's role? She is an A model like you say but exactly what does it stand for?" Asked X1 curiously
"From the records, she was an Assault class a model before the B. There were a lot of upgrades when they changed from the A to the B they took combat data from the A and rounded out the B models"
"I see, that explains why 2B had well-rounded attacks and A2 has a similar style but it's faster and hits a lot harder if I were to put them together since I crossed blades with them both."
Continuing on the both of them soon stumbled upon the piles of android bodies. Scanning around X1 soon walked over to his previous searched spot with 9S behind. Looking around they shifted through and moved multiple bodies until they came across an android body structure similar to A2.
"Hey, I found something 9S think this would be a good makeshift repair part? the arms and legs seem to be intact think this is a good fit for now" X1 spoke up carrying the body to 9S
"Let me look at it. Yeah, this can work it looks to be from a B type this should fit her body temporarily let's just take the arms and legs and leave the body. She's only damaged in those areas so those are what we need."
"Alright let me pull them off and then we can head back shouldn't take too long I don't want to damage them while I do this."
"I'll also make sure they aren't infected with a virus. If we don't wipe it out we can infect A2 and that can destroy her. So let me hack the body and scan it."
"Virus? Do you mean like a computer virus? I didn't know dead parts would contain them but scan it over then I don't want to bring back parts that will kill her." X1 sounded concerned as he looks over the body
"Yes since we were made as lies. A server where we all were connected had a backdoor where it unleashes a virus infecting us. Causing a mass hysteria we would slowly turn on each other and lose to the machines. I manage to cut ties and saved us from that fate."
"What the hell is going on first A2... now you guys. What the hell is the machine's problem building you just to kill you."
"Well from all that transpired we were all lied to. This YoRHa thing was created to keep the fight going but with how things are I have a feeling I know what A2 means by command is the one betraying us after I found out everything." 9S replied
"Well, that explains a lot though I am wondering if there are other set plans to continue the fight or is it the end. Because that means sooner or later it repeats, the question now is how it's going to play out. knowing the machines they probably know my magical presence I noticed newer models"
"Newer models already? that's not good that means they are ready to reset this plan as fast as they can. But there could be other androids built to hunt us down"
"Then we need to be on the guard I wonder if they will go that route seeing as we exist or was able to defy their original goal, they have to have a failsafe in case things don't go as plan" Spoke X1 as he begins packing up the parts.
"I can't say for sure... But if they do have a fail-safe then it means they are gonna have an extermination units design for this" 9S spoke as he sees X1 picking up all the parts needed for the repair
"For now let's get A2 back on her feet then we can discuss the next step. The longer we take here I know for sure the machines will find us so let's go"
Turning around the two began to head towards the building only to have X1 stop abruptly. Facing the mechanic shop he gazes towards the first place he remembered when he arrived here. Walking through the building to where he lost the data stick. 9S follows X1 as he notices a small object on the ground. moving along with X1 he watches it get picked up and seeing a gloom look flash on X1's face.
"What's wrong X1?" 9S asked puzzled
"This is data stick here had information on me and the world before it collapsed. It had every information on me and the state of the world. I had just barely scratched the surface of the data. Before a damn machine struck me and destroyed it. "
"Oh no... That's awful but let me see that data stick maybe I can find a way to fix it? If possible I can see if I can pull the data on it once its repaired"
"I doubt it but here you can hold on to it if you can get it to work it will give the details about everything about me and my mission." Replied X1
"Alright I'll have a look at it when we get back so let's hurry on"
Nodding to 9S they both turned around and began heading back to the building. Nearing the area X1 scanned around the area and noticed an eerie silence had settled into the destroyed town. stopping once more he grabs 9S and pulled him to a side of the building from sight.
"Wait X1 why are we hiding here. 2B and A2 is over there we are almost to the destination." 9S asked as he noticed X1's face
"Shh 9S something is off. This place was full of sounds when we left now it's silenced. This is not a good sign."
"You're right I heard insects and animals moving around but now it is quiet. What do you think is here machines?"
"No, I see something right there by those buildings something was moving in them. their size is not machine it was similar to our figure."
"That could be other androids X1 they might be allies maybe we can go talk to them? I know a few androids are still on earth fighting the machines."
"They are sneaking around 9S. Their way of movement is like they are hunting for something. Maybe they got a whiff of the magical energy I let off. Or they can be after us I know they aren't friendlies." X1 replied as he scans the distance.
"Think it might be the machine's failsafe plan? They can be like what 2B and I saw before the android-like machines."
"I can't say for sure but they have a vision on the building where 2B and A2 is. We need to move stealthily try and get to them without getting caught."
"How would we get into the building then if they have vision around it. We might need a distraction or wait it out and hope they don't discover us"
"I got an idea but knowing A2 she is going to kill me for even thinking of it."
"What do you plan on doing X1?" 9S asked concern
"I'll create a distraction and go out into the open. Maybe a small talk might buy you some time to get A2 and repair her as soon as possible."
"Are you crazy X1? If they are not friendly they will attack you and possibly kill you lets try and find another way to get to 2B and A2."
"No 9S they have the route is blocked I can see it from here let me go and you get her back on her feet and send 2B out here I'll stall that way they don't go after you."
"Ok but if the situation gets dire get out of there and we will meet up just be safe alright?"
"I got it 9S get ready I'll go out now. Try and sneak around when they all lock onto me," X1 responded as he stands up
Nodding to 9S, X1 dashed right into the open causing several eyes to fall upon him with him staring back he locks onto a pair of eyes he was not expecting.
Both the female androids stare back at one another as they both watch the two head out into the world once more to gather supplies for A2. As soon as they both were out of eyesight 2B turned her head to A2 and began questioning her.
"Hey A2 it's been a while hasn't it. I do want to apologize about earlier." 2B spoke breaking the silence
"It's fine I knew he would still be after my neck after what I had to do to you. Worrying about it won't change a thing. But you are right about one thing. We have been brought back to life not only that X1 exists..." A2 spoke softly
"I noticed that too. Him being a human is still shocking we are designed to reclaim the world for them. Finding out the truth we were just to fill the void of the machines by constantly fighting. Now we have a chance to bring them back but how is what I want to know."
"I know what you mean my friends were all sacrificed for the same lie I defected because of that. Hell, I was just an emotionless killing machine. I felt at times losing myself but that all changed."
"Is it because of us? I know you took on some of my emotions when I gave you my sword so does that mean you have the same feelings I have?" 2B questioned
"What do you mean by that are you saying I am turning into you? That's absurd I have nothing that makes me have the same feeling so what makes you think I would adopt that." A2 retorted
2B looked up at the ceiling as memories of 9S flood her mind. Despite the task she was given on killing him she grown to adore his personality hiding behind her mask she held back so much emotion she wanted to share with him. Snapping back 2B looks at A2 with a smile
"Well, I can tell from the way you look at X1 you make the same face I do when I look at 9S. You seem to have an infatuation with him like the way you look at him."
"Wh..haaa..a..t I do not have such a thing for X1 you are spouting nonsense how can I even have anything to do with him." A2 quickly responded as her face flushed slightly red
"Well, why are you following him. Aren't you the type to roam alone?"
"Ugh... I freaking hate you" A2 responded irritated from 2B's responses
"Hahaha... we are alike in a way no need to be shy about it. Sometimes even just meeting that person you would be drawn to them when you get to know them a bit."
"Tch anyways the issue at hand is he's human and has a lot of magical power. I'm sure the machine is having a hell of a time processing the fact a human exist now" A2 directing the subject
"That's true they killed their Alien creators and then designed us in human likeness. Now that an actual human exists... Wait Adam and Eve wanted to find that out too this might be a problem."
"Are you talking about those two machines that you fought? The one who resembles us or should I say the look of a human. But I had thought they wanted to wipe out humanity." A2 replied
"Not all Adam and Eve wanted to dissect the humans to figure out how they work. X1 being a human might trigger the machines to attempt to capture him and possibly bring him to others like those two."
"Wait so you are telling me the machines might go after him for that. We need to get out there and help them I got a feeling the machines will hunt down X1."
Struggling with no limbs A2 tries to wiggle herself to the door only to fall over. Having no luck with moving she lays there as 2B gets up and sets her back up against the wall looking at her blue eyes.
"Look they will be back soon 9S is with him I know they can handle a tough situation if needed. If they can't then I will go out there. But right now everything seems quiet so we don't need to worry."
"I hate this I let my guard down for one second and this happens. I hate feeling this helpless like I cannot do anything to help. It's like... Like..."
Flooding her memories she saw her friends die once more as she was unable to help them. Noticing A2's blank expression 2B shook A2 trying to snap her back to reality.
"A2 hey are you alright! A2! can you hear me come on come back"
Hearing 2B's voice calling to her she shook her head and snapped back facing 2B's face. Feeling strong arms wrapping around her 2B had embraced A2 comforting her as she sensed the pain emitting out of her.
"What the hell are you doing! Why are you hugging me!" A2 yelled out as she was enveloped in 2B's arms
"I was worried A2. I felt your sadness... it was overwhelming. When I received my sword back I felt your pain through the weapon. It seems this is a neverending trap we are struggling to break out."
"... It seems that way but we are here. X1 is also here, with him the cycle we've been going through is cracking I think perhaps we can escape these endless sacrifices," A2 replied as she sank her head on 2B's shoulder.
"Yeah let us go on together ok? We are here again so let's break this cycle together ok?"
Letting A2 go 2B stared back at her seeing as a nod was given she smiled and sat back down next to A2. Looking back at the entrance the two Androids grown a sisterly bond as they both await the two to return. Moments later 9S busted through the door rushing as fast as he could to A2 scattering the parts.
"What the hell is your problem be careful with those." A2 remarked "Wait... where is X1 why isn't he with you"
No more than asking the question the 3 of them heard explosions outside the building. With the new noise filling the air A2 grabs 9S as she stares with a death glare signaling to her body 9S began scrambling on the repairs with 2B rushing out the door into the light.
Seems like things were slowed down on my part. But here it is chapter 18 sorry about the long wait but I will continue the story things are settling down on my side
