"This is very unusual when I put it on paper, you're the first human with a physical body to live in the hollow world I know of, or at least the first to actually survive. You spent 3 years getting hunted by a Vasto Lorde... did you know a Vasto Lorde is above most Captain-class Shinigami?" Kisuke asked Naruto as he went over what Naruto's experiences were.

Naruto just stared at him as he layed on a futon, moving so that he was sitting up, his body covered in injuries that were no longer bleeding.

"What is a Shinigami?"

"Soul Reapers, Shinigami... human souls who gain powers and use zanpakuto to cleanse hollows and guide souls to the afterlife. They were the owners of the sword that put those scars on your cheeks." Kisuke explained as he placed his fingers across his own cheeks and dragged them. "Now, I'm sure you have a bunch of questions for me."

"Not really."

"You don't?" Kisuke raised as his hat dipped down over his eyes, a little surprised by the fact that Naruto didn't have a bunch of questions. "Not even how I have so much information about you?" Kisuke asked Naruto with a raised eyebrow. Since he was sure that Naruto had a ton of questions about how he knew that he was kidnapped 3 years ago by a hollow. Naruto, on the other hand, just sighed and looked away.

It wasn't that he didn't have questions.

"I have questions, but I can tell you won't give me a straight answer, so even if I ask them, I'm not getting any real answers... but sure, how did you know who I am?" Naruto asked the question just to play along. He knew from years of being mocked by hollows when a person was being sarcastic or mocking him.

Kisuke unfolded a hand fan and put it in front of him.

"Why, it's a mystery of course!"

"... I already don't like you very much." Naruto deadpanned at that. He couldn't say he was a big fan of the guy that he was talking to, but at the very least he would answer the questions the man did have for him. "... I bet my parents were... I don't know, Shinigami or something, or maybe they were hollows or... I don't know what else is out there..."

"Buzzzzzzz... the correct answer is that I've been keeping track of you for years. You were born with Immense Spirit Power, so I checked in on you from time to time, that's all." Kisuke had a simple reason for it. He just monitered some hositals where babies were being born with extremely high levels of spirit energy, and Naruto was one of those babies. Actually, he stood out head over shoulders above the rest of the babies born under those conditions. "Of course, you do have potential to become a Shinigami with how high your energy is, if you want to." Kisuke did mention that to Naruto as well.

Anyone with enough spirit energy could become a shinigami, the process was annoying and tedious if you didn't have shortcuts, but it was still possible for living humans to gain shinigami powers. Factually, it might be a little easier for Naruto since he already gained hollow powers, so his soul was already developed in strange ways. It could make it harder as well.

"I'll think about it." Naruto deadpanned.

"You're a fun guy, aren't you?" Kisuke asked Naruto in response to the deadpan.

"I just spent 3 years running for my life, excuse me if I'm mentally exhausted and emotionally drained from the experience. Not exactly something most 12 year olds go through." Naruto was usually more spirited, and he still loved fun, but his experience had left him a little on edge. A hollow could appear at any moment, and he needed to be ready for it when it did appear. Naruto looked around and through the open door. "... So a candy store... not exactly the best place for a guy to get healed at."

Kisuke just chuckled in a good natured way, as if he knew Naruto was right, and had no plans to argue with him over it.

"So an Arrancar... what is an Arrancar, in your personal knowledge... have you met many of them?" Kisuke asked Naruto with the shadow of his hat keeping his eyes covered, making it harder to read his face. He was dead serious about the question though, and Naruto frowned in thought.

He raised his hand and showed 3 fingers.

"I've seen 3 Arrancar groups, but they didn't see me. There was this woman, just sitting on a rock looking at the moon with a shark-like, broken hollow mask. She noticed me... I think... but the second she started to walk in my direction, I ran away. She was wearing white clothes, had brown skin, and she had a 3 tattoo on her boob." Naruto gestured to his chest, right where the tattoo would have been.

Kisuke mentally marked down the tattoo, but he nodded his head and gestured for Naruto to continue.

"After that, I saw 2 male hollows without tattoos were fighting each other. I watched them, but left them alone... and the female kept entering areas I was in, but she never approached me if she did notice me." Naruto explained, his interaction was Arrancar was zero, since he didn't want to test himself against them. His goal was never to test himself, it was to grow stronger so that he could survive and escape.

Survival meant more than pride.

"Nothing else?"

"Nothing else, I saw the woman maybe 5 more times... she seemed interested in finding me, but never enough to approach me again." Naruto didn't pay much attention to the times when hollows were in the same area as him, but didn't make any moves against him. "... There is a giant building called Las Noches, a fortress in Huexo Mundo... but I don't know what is in it." Naruto had seen that place.

Didn't go in, a fortress with hollows inside of it wasn't exactly a good idea for him to travel to if he wanted to survive for very long.

"Okay then, anything else you can tell me about your experience gaining your hollow powers... you gained them from just eating hollows... there wasn't anything else at all?" Kisuke had several theories about what allowed Naruto to transform. The fact that Naruto had lived in the world of hollows for 3 years put him in an area with hollow spirit energy was in excess, and Naruto took living hollows into his body when he ate them. Surrounded by hollow energy outside of his body, and taking it into his body would make for great energy fusion conditions.

His human body digesting hollow bodies and infusing every cell in his body with the flesh of hollows would also allow for changes to take place.

A Pseudo-Hollow, or maybe a Pseudo-Arrancar would be a good way to explain it. Naruto's powers and spiritual energy gave off completely hollow vibes to them. Something that woud have for sure not been the case 3 years ago.

"I felt a burning in my heart, like a hole was being burned through my body... deeper than that. Like a hole was being burned into my soul."

"I see, do you mind if I take a look at your soul?" Kisuke asked Naruto as he took his cane out. Naruto just raised an eyebrow for a moment.

Kisuke pushed the end of his cane against Naruto's forehead, and pushed his soul right out of his body. Naruto's soul was knocked clean out of him, and a chain connected Naruto's body to his soul. Naruto stood up and looked at himself, and he looked at the chain coming out of the center of his chest.

"I didn't say yes."

"You didn't say no... and this is odd, I was expecting your soul to have a hollow hole at the heart. But it seems that your hollow hole is on your stomach... right where your belly button should be. Your Chain of Fate is still connected." Kisuke had to admit this was wonderful to see. Something that made absolutely no sense at all, but made so much sense. "I expected your chain to be severed and replaced by a hollow hole, this is very odd... but it means that you can become a shinigami... well it's possible at least." Kisuke watched as Naruto walked over to his body.

He walked right into his body with no assistance, as if he just knew how to do it. Naruto's soul returned to his body, and he sat back up.

"Like I said, I'll think about it. What would be the point of becoming a shinigami anyway?" Naruto asked, since he didn't see any reason for it.

"Purifying hollows, and your spirit energy won't be nearly as hollow-like. Of course, the process might just turn you into an actual hollow... and with your current spirit energy, I have no doubt you would be an extremely dangerous one. Vasto Lorde class for sure... maybe you would like that." Kisuke joked with Naruto. Naruto did just spend years eating hollow souls, so it was possible that all of those souls counted towards the souls needed for hollows to evolve into their upgraded forms. 3 years of constant eating would build up an impress amount of powerful souls partially consumed.

"Oh yeah, and how does one become a Shinigami exactly?"

"Well first I knock your soul out of your body like this-" Kisuke stated as he pushed Naruto's soul BACK out of his body before he could react to it. Naruto's soul rolled across the floor, and he stood back up.

"Hey... not cool."

"-then I sever your Chain of Fate like this-"

Kisuke pulled his sword out of his cane, and he severed Naruto's Chain of Fate. Naruto's jaw DROPPED in shock when he saw Kisuke do that. Even he could tell if the thing connecting his soul and body got snapped, that meant he couldn't return back to his body like he had just done.

"NOT COOL!"

Naruto jumped and kicked Kisuke with both feet, knocking the man across the room, before Kisuke landed on his own feet and smiled at Naruto. He sheathed his sword and sat down, while Naruto tried to go back into his body.

"Now, you have 72 hours to find your Zanpakuto spirit in your soul, and draw out your shinigami powers. I've filled this room with a special gas to speed up the process where your broken chain eats itself... you already have a Hollow Mask AND a Hollow Hole in your stomach... so who knows what will happen when it gets to your chest." Kisuke laughed it off. He waved his fan in front of his face, while Naruto glared death at him.

Naruto sat down in the middle of the room and sighed.

"You planned this, the second I survived Hueco Mundo and gave off hollow energy, you had this planned... why?" Naruto asked Kisuke with a deep frown showing up on his face. This was done on purpose, Kisuke had gotten him here for the express purpose of making him a shinigami. He didn't know why, but it was done for a reason.

Kisuke smiled in response.

"Not angry anymore?"

"I'm furious, you just took away my choice in the matter." Naruto didn't have a choice anymore, it was either become a shinigami or turn into some kind of hollow for real. His choice in the matter was removed before he could even make it for real. He was angry, he would attack Kisuke again, but that wouldn't get him anything. "... you have to have a reason." Naruto knew a reason would need to exist.

Kisuke seemed to get slightly more serious.

"The Soul Society keeps track of hollows, you have immense spiritual energy. You give off the same readings as a hollow, shinigami will come looking for you. Turning you into a Shinigami will hide the fact you have a Pseudo-Hollow soul. I'm saving your soul." Kisuke clearly had more reasons, but Naruto could see that he had no plans on giving them up.

The reason he DID give was more than enough for Naruto to accept as good though.

"What do I do to gain Shinigami powers, how do I do it?" Naruto asked Kisuke.

"Look deep in your soul, and find your zanpakuto spirit... and get your powers. It's as simple as that... you can willingly draw out your hollow mask. How do you do that?" Kisuke wanted to give Naruto some clues on how to get it done.

"I just do it."

"Not helpful."

"Well, I didn't exactly experiment, when I got my mask, it kept coming back whenever I was in trouble with hollows. Eventually I just sort of learned to summon it, I have a time limit of about 9 minutes before it breaks and I have to let it cooldown... I don't know how I summon it... but-" Naruto reached above his head.

He pulled his hand down and summoned his hollow mask, before he allowed it to vanish on his own by swiping his hand across his face. Naruto closed his eyes and sat down, before he summoned his mask again. He tried to feel out where his mask was coming from as he sat down, so he kept summoning and banishing his mask.

...

24 hours passed.

Naruto's severed chain of fate was over a third gone, and it was extremely painful, but Naruto didn't scream whenever it started to eat itself. He just kept taking his mask on and off as he tried to sense where it was coming from.

-Inside of Naruto's soul-

"So you've arrived."

"... are you my Zanpakuto spirit?" Naruto asked as he looked at a large black-blooded fox with 9 tails that stood before him. The fox was covered with a skeleton on the outside of it, and it looked down at Naruto from it's superior height. "... no... you're my Inner Hollow... where is my Zanpakuto spirit?" Naruto asked the hollow in front of him.

"Not going to ask for MY name, I am your... well, Inner Hollow is accurate, but I guess you could better say I'm your Resurreccion. When Kurama first scratched you with that Zanpakuto, he injected some of his own spirit energy into your body... and the more hollows you ate, the more power that you gave to me... you could call me your Inner Kurama... I believe that would be a more accurate name."

"You're disgusting." Naruto said in hatred as he heard the name. "Calling yourself that bastard... and where IS my Zanpakuto spirit then?" Naruto asked again. He needed to find the Zanpakuto spirit, not whatever it was this thing called itself.

Resurreccion spirit?

"Call her out then."

"Her... going to save that for later." Naruto thought out loud as he looked around. "... this is the inside of my soul... it feels like I'm in prison." Naruto spoke as he looked at the water on the floor, and he noticed that there were giant cage bars around. There was a long and dark hallway, and Naruto saw that the water was flowing in from the hallway.

"Yes, her."

"It's more surprising that you said her... I have a female Zanpakuto spirit, but a fox Resurreccion spirit... kind of weird... I don't really like it much. See you, I'm going to go and find her." Naruto started to walk towards the hallway.

Fucking Kisuke.

Taking away his choice in the matter, not allowing him to make the choice for himself. It didn't matter if it was to protect him, he would have rather decided for himself. Yeah, he would have made this choice and become a reaper if it meant not becoming a target for hollows AND shinigami, but he still wanted to make the choice.

"Hello Naruto."

"DAMNIT!?"

Naruto jumped back in surprise when a woman appeared next to him, and next to HER was a man. Naruto raised his fists up and got ready to throw down with them, both of them. Naruto's face was suspicious, but he slowly lowered his fists.

"... My Zanpakuto spirit...s?" Naruto asked as he looked between the two.

"Yes, my name is K*sh*n*." The woman who was about his height spoke. She had bright red hair that was straight down her back, and she wore a sports bra styled boxing top, and she had spandex shorts on. She wore a grin similar to his own, and had bright grey eyes.

The man looked very similar to himself.

Only taller, with bigger blond hair, and slightly darker peach skin. He wore more ceremonial robes over his body.

"M*n*t*... you didn't hear us did you?"

"I didn't hear you at all, but I found you... do I need your names, or can I go and get my shinigami powers now? I don't want to become a hollow for real... I really don't want to." Naruto wanted to hurry this up.

The spirits looked at each other.

"You don't care about our names?"

"I don't care in the slightest right now, NOT becoming a hollow takes priority... and I think I've already figured out your names, even if I can't hear them. Honestly, if I'm right, I'm really pissed off about what your names are... it rubs salt into an open wound. I think I don't want to hear you names... emotional baggage I don't want to talk about." Naruto could make a guess at their names, and if he was right, he was really going to hate it. He already hated the fact that he had to do this in the first place.

Just more questions.

More questions he didn't want answers to.

"You already know where they are, don't you?"

"You should already have that answer, correct?"

"... Right... of course... I already know the answer, that is why I'm asking you two. Of course, it makes so much sense... just tell me where I find the way to becoming a shinigami already." Naruto deadpanned as his eye twitched. These cryptic answers to his questions was starting to piss him off.

"Back where you came from." Both said in unison.

"Of course."

-Back with the Inner Hollow-

"Okay bastard fox, where are my shinigami powers, I know you're hiding them... and unless you want to go in thet cage, you're going to give them to me." Naruto threatened the giant fox hollow, standing on top of his snout and staring him right in the eye. He had no patience for any of this crap.

He wanted out of this nightmare.

"What makes you assume I know?"

Naruto kicked the hollow fox spirit, and knocked it into the cage. The cage doors closed behind the fox, and it looked at Naruto with surprised eyes. Naruto locked the cage behind the fox so that it couldn't escape.

"I'm not playing around here! Answers, NOT cryptic answers that inspire more questions, I want actual answers NOW! You stay locked up until you give me GOOD answers!" Naruto sat down in front of the cage and crossed his arms.

"It's where-"

"BULLSHIT! That's going to be a cryptic answer, try again, and this time don't do that mysterious bullshit! Answer me with a real answer that explains exactly where my shinigami powers are, and this time, give me the answer in 5 words or less!" Naruto shouted as he slammed his fist against the bars of the cage.

The fox hollow thought about his words, really thought about them.

Instead, he opened his mouth and a bunch of ribbons started to spill out of it. Most of them were white ribbons, and Naruto could tell that nearly all of them were similar to the hollows he had eaten in the past. His Inner Hollow's answer was to just throw up a ton of ribbons, and expect Naruto to figure out which one was the correct ribbon to pull.

"The red one is literally the only non-white one."

"It's the red one."

"You are SURE it's the red one?" Naruto asked as he grabbed the only red ribbon of the bunch, and he stared up at his Inner Hollow. He wanted to make absolutely sure it was the red one before he pulled the ribbon out of his stomach, and seemingly gained new powers. He had major trust issues at this point.

"It's the red one.

"This one?" Naruto tugged on it slightly.

"Yes."

"Pulling it out of your stomach means I gain shinigami powers, ALONG with my hollow powers... that is correct?" Naruto asked, just to make sure that he was absolutely correct. Nothing surprising or weird was going to happen to him. He was going to get new powers that were exactly what were described to him and nothing else.

"Absolutely correct."

"I don't trust you, but I don't have a choice."

-Outside-

"Well would you look at that, we have a new shinigami... that still kind of feels like a hollow." Kisuke stated when he saw Naruto wearing black shinigami robes now. Naruto had 3 sheathed katanas at his waist, and he glanced at them. 2 of them had red handles, and the other one had a white handle. The guards on the red handles were shaped like spirals, while the white guard was shaped a magatama. "... but it's not super noticable... maybe you should take off the hollow mask?" Kisuke suggested.

Naruto removed the hollow mask from his face.

...

"I'm going to stab you."

"Please don't."

"I repeat... I'm going to stab you."

*SHINK*

"You almost stabbed me." Kisuke pointed out as he appeared on the other side of the room, with Naruto shoving two swords into the spot where he had been. Naruto had literally tried to stab him, and was currently taking his swords out of the floor. Naruto walked over to his body, and he entered it. Kisuke covered his face with his fan and observed Naruto as he returned to his human/hollow physical body. '... now that he is back in his body, his shinigami powers are helping to... mask his hollow powers... just enough for him to be sensed as a shinigami.' Kisuke noted that Naruto could use his hollow powers in his physical body.

He would be limited to only his hollow powers when he wasn't in his soul form.

Kisuke was so distracted that he didn't notice when Naruto walked right up to him and kicked him as hard as he could between the legs. Kisuke crumbled to the floor in agony, his hands going to his crotch in pain.

Naruto flipped Kisuke off.

Then he walked out of the building.

Naruto stuck his middle finger BACK into the building, just to prove a point.
