Chapter 1

It was early in the morning and all I could hear was the sound of my phone blaring loudly through my dorm room. UGH! Who the fuck is calling me so damn early? I reached over and grabbed the device off the nightstand. I never bothered looking at the caller I.D, because I already had an idea who it could be.

"Ok, I'm seriously going to choke whoever the fuck is calling me this fucking early in the morning." I say to the unknown caller.

"Whoa, hey, were you still sleeping?" asks the voice on the other line.

"No, I was fucking laying here thinking about names for my unborn children." I snapped. "Yes, I was fucking sleeping. Only because someone decided to keep me on the phone until 6a.m. What could you possibly want now, Teddy? This is like the 20th time you called me in the last 24 hours."

"Wow, someone is a major grump ass this morning. I was just calling to make sure you are getting on your plane today to come home for Christmas break."

"Yes, I will be getting on the plane tonight. My flight doesn't take off until 5. So please, stop reminding me."

"I'm sorry Zona. I just miss you is all. Nothing has been the same here since you left for college. You weren't able to come home for Thanksgiving like you had planned either."

"I know Teddy, I'm sorry. Things have been a little crazy this semester. I had finals, plus I had to cover someone's shift at the radio station." I tell her.

"I know. I'm really sorry for bugging so much. Anyways, get your ass around, get some coffee in you. I know you said you had things to do before you had to leave. I will see you tonight. Love you Zona."

"Love you too Teds. Tell Tim hey for me and I'll see him tonight."

"Will do. Have a safe flight. Bye."

I'm in my first year of college at Ball State University studying Criminal Justice Computer Forensics. Unlike Teddy, I decided to attend an out of state college, which was fine. I got to get out and expand my horizons, as my mother would tell me.

After hanging up from talking to Teddy, I decided to get a shower since I wasn't able to get back to sleep. As soon as I stepped out of the shower, I heard my phone going off once again.

God will this phone ever stop ringing.

"Grand Central fucking station!" I say into the receiver.

"Wow, nice way to answer the phone, Zona. Who the hell pissed in your Wheaties this morning?" the man's voice says on the other line.

"Oh hey Tim, sorry. I didn't get much sleep last night because your girlfriend decided to keep me up until 6 a.m. I was only able to get a couple in. What's up?"

"I just called to see what time your plane gets in tonight?" He asks.

"It should be in around 10 p.m. It's almost a 5 hour flight. So it will depend on if we get delayed or not. I mean, it's Indiana, plus it's December, so who knows what kind of weather mother nature will have in store." I say with a laugh.

"Yeah, that is true. Ok, well I can't wait to see you. It feels like it's been forever since you been home. I miss you. But since you have things to do, I will let you go. See you tonight. Love you."

"I love you too, Tim. Bye."

Tim is my twin brother. He dropped out of high school after our parents died in a car accident just before our high school Graduation back in April. So, he's been more like a father, than a brother.

After a long day of running errands, I finally managed to finish up the rest of my packing, I double checked to make sure I had everything I needed for my 18 days in Seattle. After I did my final check on everything, I was ready to head to the airport.

After what seemed like forever, the cab driver finally pulled up to my terminal. After I paid the man, I grabbed my duffel from the seat and headed in. It only took a few minutes before I was called to the counter. Which I'm surprised, with it being 2 days before Christmas, I figured the airport would be packed, but it wasn't. But it was also a blessing. God knows how long it would have taken if It was.

"Next please." The desk clerk calls out.

I stepped up to the counter and gave her a polite smile. "Yeah, Arizona Robbins. I'm just checking in."

"I.D please."

"Of Course." I tell her. I handed her my license so she could get me checked in.
I watched her add information to the computer before looking up at me.
"Ok, so your only destination today is Seattle. You don't have to worry about a layover." She tells me. "Do you have any bags you want to check in with us today?" the lady asks me.

"No thank you. I just have my duffel. I like to travel lightly." I tell her.

"Don't we all." She says with a smile. "With it being Christmas, not very many people do. So you are an easy one for me today."

"I'm honestly surprised you guys weren't packed tonight with it being almost Christmas."

"Bite your tongue." She says with a laugh, "Trust me, it will be packed tomorrow. People like to travel last minute you know."

"Yeah that is true." I say as the nice lady handed me back my I.D.

"Alright Miss Robbins, you are all set. Your Gate is H4. It's all the way in the back. A little tip, hitch a ride from one of the drivers in the cart. It will save you more time. Have a great day, and Happy Holidays."

"Thank you, same to you." I say to her. I picked up my duffel and headed towards my gate.

After a successful check in, and making my way through security, I headed toward my gate. I took the lady's advice and hitched a ride with their security carts. When I made it to my gate, I realized that I still had another fifteen minutes until they started having us board, so I decided to give Teddy one last call. She picked up on the 2nd ring.

"Hey there." She says to me. I could see the smile behind those words. I could tell she was really excited about me coming home to spend Christmas and New Years with her and Tim.

"Hey." I replied. "Well I made it to my gate. I still have another 15 minutes before we board, so I wanted to give you a call."

"Well thank you. I'll be there at 10 tonight to get you. You guys aren't delayed or anything are you?"

"Nope. We're still doing ok."

"Ok, good. That's what I like to hear. I hear that Indiana weather is just as bad as Seattle, except that they get more snow than we do. I'm talking 3 or 4 feet of snow."

"Yeah, well it's been mild so far. We shouldn't really get too much for another couple days, then again in January. But I will see you tonight when I get in. Love you Teds."

"Love you too Zona. Have a safe flight." She tells me.

"I will. I promise. I have to get off, it's time to board, but give Tim hugs for me and tell him I will see him tonight."

"Will do. Bye."

After hanging up with Teddy, it was finally time to board my plane.

Five hours later, we finally landed. I felt so relieved to be on the ground again. Thank God. I grabbed my duffel from the overhead compartment and headed toward the exit. I always had a fear of flying. I felt more closer to death on a plane than I did in a car.

With my duffel thrown over my shoulder, I made my way through the crowd to find Teddy. I grabbed my phone out of my pocket to turn it back on. After managing to get my phone powered up, I realized I had a couple messages from Tim.

"Have a safe flight Sis."-T

"Teddy is on her way to pick you up."- T

"I'm so excited to see you."-T

I didn't bother replying back. I knew I'd see him when I got back to the house, so I put my phone back in my pocket. I looked around to see if I could find her. I noticed there's whole lot of people here at SeaTac, so it made it even harder. Which I'm not surprised with it being 2 days before Christmas.

"Arizona, over here!" I hear Teddy shout. I finally see her raising her arm to get my attention. As soon I as I see her, I rushed towards her direction. I hadn't seen her since the summer, so I was really excited to see her standing there waiting for me like she said she would.

"Oh my god, it's so good to have you home." She says, pulling me into a hug. "How was the flight? Oh, how did the semester go? Probably busy huh? I bet it was even more rough since you had finals. How did you do on them?"

"Ok one question at a time." I tell her with a giggle. "The flight was ok. I slept most of the way. As for the finals, they were rough, but I think I did fine. I felt like I had spent every waking moment I had trying to study, on top of working at the station. It finally feels great to have a break. My grades were surprisingly good. I got a B in English, an A in Math 1100."

"That's Great, Zona. You should've definitely had gotten an A in Math. That was one of your best subjects. I can never forget how much notes you took for Math Class back in high school. Tim and I were always copying you. Oh, speaking of Tim, he can't wait to see you. He's been talking about you coming in nonstop. Oh, we also have a really big surprise for you. Two actually. It's an early Christmas present."

I looked at her with a raised brow, "Teddy, you know I don't do surprises." She even knows that I don't, but she don't seem to care. She throws surprises at me anyhow.

"I know, but you will love this. Trust me." She says. All I could do was roll my eyes at her.

After a fifteen minute drive, we were finally pulled into the drive way, I could see Tim standing by the front door. Even though it was dark, I could still see that he had the goofiest grin on his face.

"What's with the shit eating grin on your face?" I ask as I got out of the jeep. ""

"No reason." He says walking towards us. "I'm just really happy that you are home. Come on let's get your stuff in. We have a surprise for you."

We made our way into the house.

"Wow, not much has really changed since the last time I was here." I say to both of them.

"Nope everything is still the same." Tim says. He took my duffel bag to my room, which was now the guest room. They turned my old room into a guest room right after I left for college in August. So I stay in it any time I home for break.

"So, what's the surprise?" I ask Teddy as we walked toward the kitchen.

"Let's wait for Tim, here, have a drink." She says handing me a beer. We shouldn't be drinking since we're underage, but when has Teddy ever followed the rules? She's always been the rebellious type. She and I use to get into a lot of trouble throughout high school.

"Aren't you going to have one with me?" I ask her.

"Yeah, I'm going to have one too." She says pulling two more out of the fridge.

"Ok, are you ready?" Tim asked as he's walking back into the room.

"Yes. I want know. Tell me, tell me?"

"Ok, so you know Teddy and I have been together since our freshman year."

I gave him the look for him to continue.

"Well, Teddy and I are getting married." He tells me. Tim and Teddy are only 18, they're still too young for marriage, but I don't think they really care. They have been together since our freshman year of high school. As it seems, a lot of high school sweethearts get married right after high school. Then after a few years, they regret it in the long run and end up getting divorced. I honestly believe that Teddy and Tim aren't like others, they are so perfect for each other, so I know they will last.

"Oh my fucking god." I say after I spit out my beer by mistake.

"Eww, Arizona. Geez that's gross." Teddy says as she hands me a napkin to wipe my face.

"I'm sorry. I just wasn't expecting that." I tell them. "So what's the other news." Just as I'm about to take another drink, she comes out with

"We're having the wedding on New Year's Eve. Just before you have to go back to school." Once again, beer flies out of my mouth.

"Ok, you know what, no more beer for you since you can't seem to keep in your mouth." Teddy says laughing. She handed me another napkin so I could wipe my face again. Tim is standing next to Teddy, laughing his ass off.

"Well stop catching me off guard." I tell her, as I'm wiping my face off.

"Ok, before I take another drink, do you have any more surprises for me?"

"Well kind of. Derek is initiating the wedding for us. We got him ordained since the court house will be closed. So, we're having a casual wedding here, with Derek initiating. Also, Derek and Meredith got their own place finally, so we're all going over there for their Christmas Party. Then for New Year's eve, after the wedding we're going to Joe's Bar to celebrate. They're having karaoke night." She says with a big smile on her face.

"Well this should be fun. You know were not 21, right? How are we suppose to have drinks at Joe's if we aren't 21?" I ask. I honestly don't think she thought this plan through with the whole Joe's bar. We can't get in without being 21 and she knows this.

"It's called fake I.D's Arizona. Chill out, it will be fun."

"Fake I.D's? Are you insane? We could never pull that off. We almost got away with it night of our Graduation if you hadn't mouthed off to the cop who busted us. A cop who was Derek's dad, if I do recall. "

She furrowed her brow at me.

"Yeah, the one who said that you were a cocky bitch. Remember?"

"Oh yeah, I remember now." She says laughing. "Don't worry, we will pull this one off."

I just give her a dirty look.

"Oh come on, Arizona, you need chill out. You will see. Now get your ass to bed."

"Ok fine. I will see you guys tomorrow. Love you." I say to them as I make my way to the my bedroom.

"We love you too." They both say together.
