Half an hour after the meeting, me, Okoye, Shuri, Sexi, Hunter, and Tess were all at Shuri's lab, ready to leave.
"Good luck y'all." Tess said. "But why is Sexi going with you?"
"In case it doesn't go to plan, and Madame Masque is born, and not on our team, or at least neutral, I need to keep Sexi close, as well as limit Masque. If Masque is born, Sexi will be the only one who can counteract her powers."
"What's her powers? Something tech based, I got that much, but what's so special, or dangerous?" Shuri asked.
"She has the same powers as Sexi, just not as potent, because while Sexi was a machine, now human, Masque is a human, with technopathic powers. Yemandi's boat is operated by a golden mask, which the wearer interfaces with, so as to control the boat, and the bots that manage the boat. If Whitney wears it, she can tweak the mask and boat, so that she can control any tech. But she is limited, while Sexi is not. So I'm bringing Sexi, so she can disconnect the boat from any outer connections- you know, it's safer if you stay here, and do the blocking from here. Stay here, ok, Sexi?"
"Got it, Dad. But keep in mind, I tried to disconnect the mask totally, removing any control it had, and that failed. The mask has some properties that allow this to happen, and I may not be able to stop it, if she gets out of hand."
"Hmm, so the mask has technopathic metals, like the Chitauri's stuff. Got it, thanks sunshine."
"You're welcome, Dad. Stay safe, no need to think you have to pay for other's mistakes."
"Of course hun." I said, but I knew I had to stop what happened, or make it happen on my terms, that was my job. I turned to Shuri and Okoye. "Ready?"
Shuri rolled her eyes. "We've been ready, but how are we going to get there? That Clint lover boy will be there in five minutes, we're running late."
I smirked. "We're not late, I can get us there in a second. And I want to see Clint too, his skills are useful."
"Skills?" Hunter asked.
"He's a sharpshooter, but he uses bows and arrows. Codename Hawkeye." I rolled out.
"That's kind of cool." Tess said.
"Yeah, but I can outdo him any day." I said.
"How?" Shuri asked, but Tess and Sexi were smirking.
"Spider senses, I can do it with my eyes, ears, and nose all covered and still hit bullseye, that's why I can swing without a problem."
"Ohhh." Shuri, Hunter, and Okoye all said in realization.
"Yup. Now, let's go."
"How, dumbass?" Okoye asked.
"Like this." I said, and made a portal. I looked at them, and they were dumbstruck. After a moment, Shuri said "Ok, you're smarter than me, I admit it."
I laughed "Just get on with it, we have to hurry, Clint'll be there any minute now."
"Ok." Both Shuri and Okoye said, then all three of us stepped into the portal.
We found ourselves outside the base, and a plane was just landing. The plane door opened, and I saw the one and only Clint Barton in the MCU look, looking happy, but his expression changed the moment he saw us. "Who are you?" He asked, pulling out his bow and notching an arrow within a moment. It was quite fast for a human, but I wasn't a normal human, so it seemed slow to me.
I stepped forward. I had worn a bunch of bulky winter gear over my suit, so he wouldn't see who I was at first. I started removing the winter gear, and he shot the first arrow, thinking I was getting ready to fight him. I caught the arrow without a problem, then said "What does a dude have to do to introduce himself in peace!? I was just showing you my suit!"
"You can just tell me who you are, without moving anything other than your mouth." He said, tensed up.
"Ok, dude. My name is Karma Sonuvabitch, and I am Spider-Man. Happy now?"
He didn't lower his bow. "Nat trusts you, even though you were saying some stupid shit about learning under her. Who are you, under the mask?"
"Natasha trusts me, because she knows that if I wanted to, there wouldn't be a planet to live on right now, and that if I wanted to, I could take SHIELD out for good, and I'm not doing either, but the latter is tabled for several years or so from now."
"Why are you here? This is a classified SHIELD base, and you're not SHIELD. In fact, me and Nat were told just earlier today to hunt for you, because of the altercation with Doom."
"This isn't a SHIELD base, this is your girlfriend's prison, she's just serving time here." I shot back.
"This isn't a prison for her!" He said.
"Tell that to her face, and to the ankle collar they put on her!"
"I asked them not to put the collar." He said weakly.
"But it's SHIELD," I spat out with disgust, "and the only thing SHIELD cares about is the world. Not the people in it. Not Clint, not Whitney," I said, pointing a finger behind me, where Whitney was, she came out a minute ago, expecting to greet Clint, but seeing a confrontation instead. "not Natasha, not my parents!" I shouted. "My parents were one of the best SHIELD agents, but you don't know that, that's how good they were! They were there from before Fury came into place! Let's go inside, your girlfriend's chain is going to start hurting her, we can continue this inside." I threw my winter gear off, turned to Whitney, and said "Hello, Whitney." In a friendly voice, laced with irritation at SHIELD.
"Hello, Spider-Man. Do you not feel cold?"
"Spiders don't thermoregulate, and as a cross species enhancement, I don't need to, but do it anyway." I said, opening the door, and gesturing to Shuri and Okoye to walk in. They did, then Whitney followed.
I looked at Clint. "You coming or what? I'm going in first, so I won't be behind you, since you think I'm a threat to you."
I walked in, and I heard Clint put his bow away, and walk in behind me.
"Who were your parents?" Clint asked, once we were inside.
"They're dead, SHIELD killed them. I'm not about to give you my identity yet." I said. "Leave SHIELD, and I'll think about it."
"What do you have against SHIELD, why would they kill your parents if they were SHIELD agents, why are you even saying they killed them, do you have proof?" Clint asked.
I turned to face Clint. "Look, Barton, you may have had a bad life before SHIELD, what with the Circus and everything," his eyes widened at that, "but tell me, with all due honesty, did you kill more people with knowledge of why you were killing them in SHIELD or the Circus?"
He didn't respond, but his eyes told me I hit the bullseye. "Do you disagree openly with what they're doing to Whitney? Or are you just their baby dog, they picked you up from the streets, and now you lick their shoes for them, knowing how disgusting it is, but still doing it?"
"But Nat..." Clint said weakly.
"I get it, you want to stay with your sister, and I accept that. Hell, I admire it. You saw what happened to Doom when he touched my sister. But I'm telling you this, so you don't hunt for Whitney, when her ankle collar will be broken in the next few days, just be patient, and when I convince Natasha, both of you can leave SHIELD, and you can secretly see Whitney in the meanwhile, SHIELD won't even know, I can hide it from them, and I will hide it from them."
"You would do that!?" Whitney asked, almost excited.
"Yes, I would." I said.
"But why?" Clint asked. "Why are you doing this? What do you get out of this?"
I looked at Okoye and Shuri, asking for permission to expose Wakanda to them, and they nodded. I turned back to face Clint. "I have two reasons. One, is the boat. It's Wakandan, and it has something of great importance to Wakanda's safety, and the world in general. Shuri is the Wakandan princess, and Okoye is leader of the royal guards. Two-"
"But Wakanda is a third world country! They couldn't have made such advanced tech." Whitney cut in.
I nodded at Shuri, and she stepped forward. "That's what Wakanda wants you to think. She pressed a button on her holobeads, and a projection came on. "In reality, we have the best tech in the world, and are generations ahead of the rest of the world. The only one with tech to rival ours is Karma here." She said with a smirk aimed at me.
"But it had so much vibranium, how?" Whitney asked.
Shuri said "Millions of years ago, a comet of vibranium landed on Earth, and Wakanda sits directly above it. But this information stays here, understood?"
"Understood." Whitney said immediately.
I looked at Clint. He looked conflicted. "What's wrong Barton?" I said. "Still considering the lapdog job?"
After a moment, he said "Understood. What was said here stays here, on the condition you keep Whitney safe. But what was your second reason?"
"Good, you don't work for me, and you made the point. But reason two," I took my mask off and looked at him with intensity in my eyes. "When I was given my powers, I saw the lives of billions of other Peter Parkers flash though my eyes. Every single Peter Parker in the multiverse. With me feeling all the feelings they felt through their lives, in the moments they felt them. All the pain, all the love, all the bonding, all the loss. And a majority of them had a relationship with Natasha. So as such, I have a general feeling of protection towards her. And I am different from the other Peters, and Natasha is different from the other Natashas. So, in the end, what we're doing here, is an exchange. You keep Natasha safe, and I keep Whitney safe. But, should you not keep her safe, I will withdraw my protection from Whitney. Are we clear?"
I glared at him so hard he looked down. "Yes, we're clear. God, you're just like Nat."
I smirked evilly. "She taught me everything, including how to cut someone's balls with a toothpick." He gulped, then I stood up and said "Enough talking. Let's get to the boat. You coming Clint, or are you a small peen?"
"I'm coming, I'm coming!" He said. Then he whispered to Whitney "I can see them together, god! They're so similar, and they both got the spider thing going! I'm going to die when they're together!"
"I heard that, Clint!" I said. "And we officially called ourselves the Spy-ders. Keep that in mind, as well as the spider in your shoe."
He quickly took both of his shoes off, and checked them, then not finding a spider, said "Ok, I'll admit it, you got me."
"Shut up, and keep your tail between your legs, and follow me." I said. Then we all started getting onto the boat.
We all got on the deck of the boat, and I said "Sexi, the boat awake?"
Sexi's voice came on. "It is, somewhat, but it has also been tampered with. There are booby traps everywhere, watch out."
All of a sudden, there were several robots coming out and attacking us. I took out the six bows I had in my utility belt, and loading three arrows at a time, took all of the robots out within four seconds. I smirked at Clint's dumbfounded expression, and said "What's wrong, Hawkeye? Finally found out you're not quite the 'Trickshot' anymore?"
"Shut up." He said meekly.
"You're no fun," I said, patting his shoulder, "but some good natured Budapest will get your mood up, c'mon, we go in, activate the traps, and have Budapest all over again."
"Me and her remember Budapest very differently."
"You said that in every universe, be a little less predictable. Sexi, are there anymore traps? And what happened, this has never happened to you?"
"There are a thousand plus more traps." Sexi said "And they have no connection to the rest of the ship, they're just single units, that get activated."
"Killmonger's work." I said. "This stinks of him, older him. He probably broke in and placed the traps, thinking T'Challa or T'Chaka would come unprepared."
"That is highly probable, but not concrete." Shuri said.
The moment we all stepped in, the door closed automatically. "Sexi, if that was you, why?"
"That wasn't me." She said urgently. "This booby trap is entirely mechanical, I didn't see it coming, and the only way to live is to use the mask."
"Oh, this is N'Jadaka all right." I turned to Whitney "Can I trust you?"
"Of course, but what are you thinking?" Whitney asked.
"Dude, are you sure?" Shuri asked.
"No, but if we die, it's my fault anyways. So this is the better way out. I could portal us out but N'Jadaka still wins then." I turned to Whitney. "There was another reason to what I did, and am doing, Whitney. In other universes, with your frustration at SHIELD, and you being ex AIM being a major problem, you wear the mask, and become a villain. You join N'Jadaka, and die later on. But I want to know, can I trust you, to wear the mask, and not join N'Jadaka?"
"Why are you willing to trust me? The only one who has ever done that is Clint. Why are you trusting me, when you know if the trust is misplaced, you can die?" She asked.
"Dad, you have about forty-five seconds, then you're all dead." Sexi said, clearly panicking.
"Ok, Sexi. I'm trusting you because you still die an honorable death in that universe, you die saving Clint. Deep down, even with all the bullshit AIM drilled into you, and with what SHIELD has done to you, you're a good person. And Clint trusts you, so Natasha trusts you, somewhat, so I think I can trust you. Can I?"
"Twenty seconds, Dad!" Sexi said. I looked at Whitney, there was already water pooling around our feet.
She took a deep breath. "Yes, you can trust me."
"Good." I made a portal to the bridge and nodded to everyone else. They nodded back. I looked at Whitney, and said "Ten seconds, Whitney."
She went in, and I followed after her. The portal closed behind us, and I ran and grabbed the mask, then handed it to her. She took it, and wore it. The water was already knee high in the bridge, and I'm pretty sure the others were nearly drowning.
She said. "I see so much, every problem on the boat. I'm fixing it, it's working." It was, the water was going back down. "Hey, Sexi. So you're the person he was talking to the whole time, nice." A moment later, she said "Okay, take the collar off, and then I'll leave it here and then we'll see you in Wakanda." The collar fell off, then Whitney took it and threw it away. "I can see a message from some N'Jadaka, can you see it, Sexi? I rejected the offer, let's see what happens. I'm lifting the mask now, Sexi. I need to talk to your dad. Bye, Sexi. See you in Wakanda, hopefully." She lifted the mask, smiling. "Let's go talk to the rest." She said.
"Lets go." I said, walking to the door, and opening it. We went through the door, and said "Thank you for proving me right, it feels good. Shuri didn't feel the need to disagree with me, I guess, and Okoye knew that I knew how the war with The Council would go, so it would be fine whichever way it went. But honestly, things would be a little different, that's why there's a multiverse." We made it to the engine room, and I bent down and got the piece of the key from where it was. "Ahh, got it. But going back to point, my knowledge isn't infallible, and everyone knows that, but they still trust me, but I don't know why." Wait, why was I venting? What the fuck?
"Everyone trusts you," Whitney said as we walked on "because you trust them when no one else will. Just now, no one else, would know what you did, and still give me the chance to take the mask. Not even Clint. He would want to keep the mask away, not wanting to lose me, which is a loveable trait. But you just looked at me like you would look at a sibling, just trusting me, even though you would probably fight me later on." She gave her fist to me. "Siblings?"
I looked at it for a moment. "Siblings." I confirmed as I bumped her fist with mine. Then we continued walking down the hallway.
"We take a right at this intersection, and then they should be at the end of the hallway." Whitney said when we reached an intersection of hallways.
We turned right, then we found the rest. Shuri looked glad, Okoye was probably glad underneath the whole official skin, and Clint looked worried. They still hadn't noticed us, so I said "Why the long face, Barton? Lapdog mood coming back?"
"Dude!" Shuri said, and gave me her hand in high five, which I gladly gave. "Good job, dude! Congrats! I didn't see that coming! You're fucking Karma!"
"I don't jerk off, Shuri." I deadpanned. "I'm not 'fucking Karma'"
We both laughed at that, and I looked at Okoye. From the side of my eye, I could see (and hear, super senses) Whitney reassuring Clint, and hugging him. I focused my attention to Okoye, and said "You didn't say anything the whole time, what's wrong?"
"Back in Wakanda, when you were talking to us, in Shuri's room, I figured you would do something like this, but not have a contingency plan should she turn bad. I was worried, but now I see you know what you're doing." She punched me in the shoulder. "Well done, dumbass. The multiverse is perfectly safe in your hands."
"Thank you, Okoye." I said.
"Did you have a nickname for me in other universes? I thought you might, not sure though."
"No, they were too scared of you to nickname you. But even if they did have a nickname for you, I wouldn't use it, I'd rather make my own nickname for you. Got it?"
"Aww, how sweet," Shuri said. "the colonizer has made his way into the leader of the Dora Milaje's heart, now if only I took a picture of the moment before I got you two to glare at me." Shuri's voice just got smaller and smaller the whole time, as we were glaring at her stronger and stronger. After several moments of continuous glaring, she broke down "Ok, ok, I'm sorry! Not dying today!"
"You got the general idea," I said "but that's the wrong term, you know. One can't worm their way into a heart, the correct thing to say is a soul."
Then Whitney spoke up "Okay guys, I think we have to leave now. Clint's allowed time to stay here is almost over, and we've been here for about two hours." She turned to Clint, then looked back at us. "Can me and Clint get a moment?"
"Of course." I said. "Let's get the kriff outta here, folks."
They all looked at me dumbly, except for Whitney, who was frowning in mock disappointment. "Do you guys not know how to say fuck in Basic?" She asked, in over exaggerated pity.
"What the fuck is Basic? Where do people speak it?" Shuri asked.
"It's from Star Wars," I said. "The main language in their universe." Whitney added.
"Nerds." Clint said, and rolled his eyes, then he realized that he made a mistake, and quickly backtracked. "Didn't mean it! Don't kill me, or my kids! I still have to meet them!"
We all laughed, then I nudged Okoye and Shuri out of the hallway, and as we were leaving, I called back "Don't fuck! I will be able to hear you, super senses and all! Don't want to get scarred too early!"
"Shut up, Peter!" Whitney said. "You've heard it millions of times, made the sounds a million times as well!"
"That doesn't mean I want to hear you!" I said back.
"Fiiine, no sex." Whitney said in over exaggerated sadness. "And here I thought we could smash one last time."
"We haven't even had sex before!" Clint said.
I ignored what they were saying after that, but I could still hear them. I just wasn't paying attention to them, instead I focused on Okoye and Shuri. I took the key piece out of my pocket, and displayed it to them. "I got what we're looking for!" I exclaimed.
"Well done Peter." Okoye said.
"Thanks, now the main things are 1) Get the last piece from Attilan. 2) Go to Atlantis, and take care of N'Jadaka Senior. 3) Go to the Zemo castle, and retrieve any information. 4) Go to the place where T'Chanda placed the crown. 5) Have a badass fight with the Council. Anything I'm missing?"
"The contingencies." Okoye said immediately.
"Don't worry about that, as far as T'Chaka and T'Challa will know, there are no contingencies, no back up plans, and there is only one chance, otherwise they won't give it their all, and Hunter and possibly Whitney as well will pay the price."
"Understood, you want them to think there isn't any chance of losing the fight, and winning is a must, not something highly preferable. But you still have contingencies, correct?" Okoye asked for confirmation.
"Yes, but now, Whitney and Clint are coming, let's act like normal people." I said urgently.
"What do normal people do?" Shuri asked.
"They talk, and laugh with each other." I said.
"We basically were just doing that." Shuri said, confused.
"Yeah, but normal people don't talk about the world being in danger, nor are they geniuses, nor badass women that aim at male genitalia, nor are they multiversal idiots, nor are they Wakandan!" I said.
"Good points, I never really thought about why I'm not normal, guess I know why now." Shuri said, then assumed a thoughtful expression. "Let's be normal people, shall we? But what is there to talk about now?"
At that, we both started laughing, and Okoye gave a light laugh. We were still laughing, When Whitney and Clint came to us. "Why are you laughing?" Whitney asked "Is it a normal people thing, or crazy people thing?"
At that, we started laughing even more. "Oh my god, you said just the right thing. I heard the two of you coming closer, so I was trying to get us to act like normal people, as a joke, but we didn't know what to talk about." I exploded into laughter again.
Whitney smiled "For real. How do you guys even keep up the act? Like I totally couldn't manage to shut the fuck up if I was talking to one of you fellow dumbfucks."
"I'll have you know," I said, wagging a finger at her. "that I am one of the smartest people on the planet, and the only person who could possibly be as knowledgeable as me in this universe is The One Above All. But the most opinionated topic ever aside, I just talk freely with my friends, but me and Sexi make it look like we're trash talking our least favorite students, or teachers, and stuff like that."
"Your friends know?" Whitney and Shuri asked at the same time.
"Surprised? Yes, they do know, but I only have like one, two, three, four friends that are from before my superpowered days, so it's fine."
"And how many supers know your identity?" Whitney asked.
"Well, there's the Fantastic Four, T'Challa and T'Chaka, my sister, Sexi, and all the sorcerers and sorceresses that bothered to know."
"Of course magic is real, if Dracula is real then so is magic." Whitney said.
"So you did have that thing with Dracula in this world, huh." I said, then I smirked. "How was the beach house? Did you guys have a one night stand, then decided it was so good, you needed more, or did it happen the same way as it did in the other worlds?"
"It wasn't even a beach house." Whitney grumbled. "It was a fricking cabin. I was down for being captured by SHIELD if it meant that I was going to the beach, but turns out, it's just a cabin with tech."
"Next time, I'll send y'all to a treehouse, and you'll find yourselves on a deserted island with coconut trees, and already made grass skirts. What do you say, Clint?"
After a moment, Whitney said "I think he's drooling from the thought."
"Yeah," I said. "I think that if Clint behaves, he'll find himself well rewarded, if Whitney wants to do so. We got a deal, Clint?"
"Deal." He said immediately, and we all laughed. Then he groaned, then said "Ok, I have to go. Bye y'all."
"Bye, horny lover boy." Me and Shuri chorused.
He groaned again, then turned to Whitney. "Bye, Whitney." He said, then kissed her on the cheek lightly. Then he turned to me "Keep her safe."
I nodded. "Same goes to you, I will do my best." I gave my hand out in a handshake, which he accepted. With one last look at Whitney, he left.
As soon as he was gone, we all imploded into laughter, bending into ourselves, Okoye included. Wait what? Okoye was laughing like crazy too! We've definitely been rubbing off on her a lot.
"Oh my god, and I thought I had the whole brain dead lover boy thing down, I never seen shit like that!" I said, as soon as I could catch my breath, then I fell into hysterics again.
"Wait, you've embarrassed yourself in the lover section!" Whitney exclaimed. Oh no. "God, you've got the feelings of a multiverse inside you. This body of yours still virgin?"
"Actually, Aunt Whitney," Sexi called out. "He is. Somehow, he's met four of his multiversal counterparts' lovers' counterparts in this universe, and hasn't thrown any of them onto a bed and fucked them until they passed out. He has a very large control factor. But that doesn't stop him from brain farting in front of them."
"Y'all are in the Aunt/Niece thing already?" I said.
"Yeah, after all if we're siblings, then she's my niece." Whitney said.
"Welcome to the club of embarrassing Peter all you want and all you can, Whitney." Shuri said, extending a fist to Whitney, who bumped it eagerly. "His major points of embarrassment are the lover section stuff, namely, twenty plus women in his harem," ugh, where'd she add the plus from! "his brain farts, and he has a fetish for getting shocked down there."
"Peter, bro that's crazy!" Whitney said. Ughhhh. "How good were the nights on a rate of 0 to 100, zero being 'I wanna do this for another couple of hours but they all passed out, and hundred being 'I COULD FUCK ALL DAY!'"
"Is that even a question? Wait it is, the answer is zero and a hundred, both at the same time."
"Good answer." Whitney praised, then pushed her mask down. "I'm taking us to Wakanda, Sexi, this ship doesn't have cloaking yet, so can you manage that for me? Don't want SHIELD on my ass already." After a moment, she said "Thanks Sexi." Then she lifted her mask, and said "I've set us to use the submarine function, we can see sights, talk, and get there in six hours."
"No!" I said. "No subs, that will be a huge problem, with Atlantis, and possible attacks from them, or even worse, N'Jadaka. We're taking air, super low air, we want to be just about two hundred feet above sea level."
"Copy that." Whitney said, then pushed the mask back down. A moment later, she lifted it and said "Done just as suggested, king lover."
"King lover? What's that mean?" I asked.
She grinned "You love like a king, that's what it means."
I groaned. "I should just change my mental description of 'sibling' from 'emotional support, platonic love in between the two sides' to 'people down to embarrass you twenty four, fucking, seven, emotionally draining, you have to nearly kill people for them for them to at least respect you.'"
"Don't be so down, Peter." Whitney said sarcastically "I respect you, but not in the way you want."
"You know what?" I said "Two can play at this game. Or wait, two are already playing, two sides can play this game." I grinned evilly, and their eyes widened. "Sexi, blast my music. Everyone hates my playlist, you'll die in this town."
"Cover your ears everyone!" Shuri said "Can't risk death by listening to bad music!"
"Don't worry, you'll be zombies by the end of the ride." I said evilly.
Within the six hours of the trip, they were killed, revived, killed again, and revived one last time. They were dying, begging on their knees for the torture to stop, but it wouldn't. Finally, an hour before our arrival at Wakanda, Whitney put her mask on, and shut the speakers, and they started breathing again.
"Bro, what type of a playlist is that?" Whitney asked in horror. "Your taste itself isn't so bad, but everything is so mixed up!"
I grinned "That's how playlists worked back in my universe, and I'm respecting my heritage, but I'm also thinking of organizing it. But you haven't seen my everything playlist, what we just played was my best of adrenaline playlist, which is more specific than my adrenaline playlist, which is more specific than my everything playlist."
Whitney groaned. "Fucked up playlists aside, what was that about 'your universe' I'm pretty sure I heard a very long story inside those words, and we got an hour to explain."
"Oh shit, guess we're doing this again." I said
An hour later, we arrived in Wakanda, after I had explained everything to Whitney, and was grilled on every aspect of the subject by her, Shuri, and Okoye, but thankfully, they avoided the subject of my family.
We got out of the ship, and I stretched my arms, then said "Sexi, play my everything playlist."
"No! Don't! Please!" Both Shuri and Whitney pleaded.
"Ok fine, for now. Let's go see T'Chaka, and give a update on the situation, then we can all have a well deserved rest."
"Sir yes sir!" Whitney said, then fell into salute.
"When we're in Wakanda, the salute given is this." I said, then gave the Wakandan salute. "And why the official, White?"
"White? Why White? And you're the boss man, so we're doing official."
"Girl, I've yet to see you not wearing a white hoodie, and white sweatpants. And stop being a prick, I'm not your boss, I'm just smarter than you, and I have a wider aspect of the situation."
"Fine, you want to call me White, go ahead, I guess. Hey! That's my moniker! White Masque! Like M-A-S-Q-U-E! How's that for a moniker?" Whitney asked for our opinions.
"It's good. I'm just thankful you didn't take Madame Masque, that name has memories of watching you fall from a cliff, into an explosion." I said.
"So you're saying, by you influencing me to switch sides, you saved my life?" She asked.
"Yes, but not really at the same time. You being with us means I have a better chance of saving your life, and a better chance of us winning the war." I said.
"He's just self deprecating, don't believe him." Tess's voice came out of nowhere, then she popped up from where she was hiding, behind a corner, and Sexi followed suit. "He totally saved your ass, but he won't admit it, but if you died, or joined the Council, then died after that, he would blame himself." Tess stretched her hand towards Whitney "I'm Tess, it's an honor. Any sister of Peter's is a sister of mine. We're going to rock at embarrassing Peter."
Whitney shook her hand "I agree, but that playlist of his was his form of revenge, and he had sweet revenge against us. I believe we should wait for his defense to lower, then attack with such ferocity, that his defenses turn to dust, and we have a victory on our hands."
"You guys are discussing this as if it's more important than the war against the Council." I said.
"I agree with Peter." Okoye said. Then she turned to me. "Don't let that get to your head, dumbass." When I nodded, she turned back to everyone else. "You act as if that's the most important thing in the current horizon, while Peter hasn't slept since he came here."
"Wait, he hasn't slept since he arrived in Wakanda!?" Tess asked. When Shuri and Okoye nodded, she turned to me. "Pete, do you know what day it is? How the hell are you even alive?"
"It's Saturday, right? And I don't feel like I am running out of energy at all, but I haven't even drunk caffeine at all. It's crazy cool, I just need to eat, and I could do this for a whole year."
"Pete," Tess said worrily, "It's Monday evening, back in New York. The last time you slept was Wednesday, get your ass to a bed, right now."
"I can't Tess." I said. "I have to debrief with the king, and I need to make sure Whitney's accommodations are accounted for. Give me enough time to do that, and then I'll sleep."
"You have thirty minutes." She said sternly.
"I need ninety, I'm pretty sure I'll have to argue with T'Chaka and T'Challa on Whitney's case, and that'll take a while, we're all stubborn assholes." I was so lucky I had bargaining skills from my other universe. Bargaining skills come in clutch in 3...
"You get sixty, Pete you can most probably shorten the amount of time it takes." Tess said, backing down a little. 2...
"I need more, they're the rock hiding all that ore in Minecraft, and I'm the trusty diamond pickaxe. Tess, I need to do this." 1...
"You get seventy five. And that's final." Yes! I got the amount I wanted.
"Thanks, Tess." Then I turned around and headed towards the great hall. "Let's get going, don't want me wasting my time on you dumbfucks."
"Peter!" Whitney said, as if she wanted to say something important. I turned my head slightly to look at her. "Thank you, you didn't have to."
"That's what family is for, White." I said, then I decided to flex on Tess. "Y'know, Tess, when we got into the discussion of how long I'd take, I was aiming at seventy five all along?" I said evilly.
"So you're saying you bargained with me? And you just came out on top? Not fair!" Tess said.
"Not my fault I learned bargaining in my other life!" I said, then turned and continued walking.
A "You know too?" Was shot at Tess and Whitney, from Tess and Whitney.
I laughed "Just hurry up, peoples. I don't got all day, cuz of y'all."
Two minutes later, we entered the great hall, to see T'Chaka and T'Challa and Hunter all already there, the two Panthers seemingly intent on not speaking to Hunter, and Hunter clearly had the same thought, but his hostility was directed at T'Chaka, not T'Challa. T'Chaka had the key piece in his hand, and he was studying it carefully.
"Well, wonderful!" I said, and all three of them turned to look at us. "Some fatherly hate going on here, and some resentment from the son who was kicked out of his house! Should we leave and come at another time, your highness, and let you sulk at your son who didn't do wrong shit?"
"You will treat the king with respect!" T'Challa said, stepping up to me, angered at my words, trying to look intimidating.
"And you two," I said, stepping up and putting an even more intimidating aura, "will treat your family member with respect! You don't tell me what to do, and while I do respect Wakanda and its king, I disagree with his methods, and I'm not scared to voice my opinions!"
After a staring contest for all of one second, T'Challa backed down. "That's what I thought, Tich." Then I fished the key piece from inside my suit, and threw it at T'Chaka, who caught it. "Two pieces down, one to go. We need four teams, team one is to go to Attilan and get the last piece. Shuri will be on that team as Wakandan royalty, and hacker when it's needed, Tess will also be there, to serve the intimidating factor, as well as strength factor, you'll understand how when I give you specific instructions. Hunter, you're also on that team, they'll need your stealth skills.
"Team two, goes to Atlantis. I'm going in mask, alone. I have two objectives, to take care of N'Jadaka Senior and Tigershark, and to get Atlantis on our side of the war, and not for them to be manipulated so they just attack Wakanda.
"Team three, goes to the Zemo castle. Objective: retrieve any and all information contained in the castle. Zemo may be there, but don't be fooled by him, just use him, and leave him in the dust. T'Challa, Okoye, and Whitney will be on this team.
"Team four, stays in Wakanda. Objective: apprehend all of the spies in Wakanda. All of the Dora Milaje, as well as T'Chaka and Sexi, make up this time. Sexi, your primary task is to connect all the teams, and ensure every team's safety.
"Any questions?" I finished.
"Since when are we trusting Madame Masque?" T'Chaka asked. "We can't trust her, she could be a spy."
"Listen carefully, T'Chaka." I said. "In the show, she died, saving Clint and T'Challa. That's two people who died saving T'Challa. I don't care what you say, don't call her Madame Masque. Her moniker is White Masque, use that. And you point a finger at her, you're in trouble. She's under my protection, and my protection is strong enough to bring this planet, and possibly Xandar as well, to its knees, should they go against me. And she is a good person, she was just manipulated to be on the wrong side, and I made sure that didn't happen. She's with me, and you dare make a move against her, it's a move against me."
"But she was evil in that other universe!" T'Challa protested.
I spun to face him "Is that what it is, or you don't want to admit that you're too lousy to save yourself, and people need to die to save your sorry ass? I'm here, to make sure that neither Hunter nor Whitney die, nor Wakandan innocents, nothing else. I'll kill Tigershark, I'll kill who I have to, to make sure good people don't get killed instead. Even should the Council rise, it won't be a problem for me. I'm not here for Wakanda, I'm here for them two! We clear, Tich?"
"Clear." He said, scared for his life.
I turned back to T'Chaka. "We've been trusting White Masque, since she was born. She is a good person, one that doesn't deserve to die, and that's why we're trusting her."
He nodded, understanding that he couldn't push this subject, and I asked again "Anymore questions, before I give teams one and three instructions?"
"Are you keeping me away from Tigershark?" Hunter asked.
"Yes, yes I am. I'm not risking you dying at his hands, and that's final. I know you want to go against him, but you're not the one who saw your dead body."
He fished into his suit, and pulled out a card like thing, that was glowing white. "I don't like what you're saying, I'd rather fight him, but I agree with you." He displayed the face of the card to me. It looked like a wolf's face. "I found this during my years. I think you know what it is." I did, it was an amulet, a White Wolf amulet. "This one, unlike mine, is the leader of a pack. And he wants to go to you." He offered the amulet to me.
"I can't do this, Hunter, it's yours."
"It never was, the outlier wolf was me, always part of the pack, but not at the same time. I found this, a K'un-Lun warrior captured his spirit generations ago, and he agrees with your commands as leader of the pack, and besides, you can feel his pull. Just do it, Karma. I like calling you that."
"I can feel his pull, but I can't. I don't deserve the power."
"But you need it." Tess said. "You promised me, Pete. I can repeat your exact words, or you can do it yourself. You need it, Pete. The wars are coming, faster than we can imagine."
I nodded, then slowly stretched my hand towards Hunter's. In a fit of brave, and accepting the pull, I grabbed it, and Hunter let go at the same time, as if it was a ceremony. It probably was, I guess amulets were passed down that way. As soon as I held it within my hand, I felt the power getting sucked into me. I groaned, and I could hear the wolf growling too. Moments later, it was over, and I looked at my hand, where the amulet was within my hand. It felt like it was a part of me, almost.
"I feel different, but the same." I said, confusedly. "So much more power, but the same body. A sharper mind, but the same thought process. Two souls, but one at the same time." My confusion had turned into awe at this point.
"That's an amulet for you." Hunter said. "C'mon, use your claws." He said encouragingly.
I put the amulet onto my buckle, and looked at my hands, then in sheathed my claws. They looked almost disgusting, just popping out of my hands, but they were me, or who I am now. "They're... Beautiful, but disgusting, but so much more beautiful. Tigershark will be the first to taste my claw's power."
That's the spirit I heard a gravelly voice filled with power, and I was surprised for a second, then I smirked.
"You're the wolf, right?"
Yes, but the nature of your blood has sucked me into you, hence the feeling you felt when you held me. This will only happen for several moments, then our souls will fully merge, and you will see everything I have seen, and we will be one, truly. Anyone who grabs the amulet after that will not be able to use it, it will no longer be anything other than a amulet, without the spirit within, that gives the power.
Moments later, I saw his memories, my memories. Me being killed by an Iron Fist of the past, then it all passed, like a blur and a snail, at the same time, hundreds of years, just a split second, passing through me.
When it all passed, I growled. "That shit hurt, but it was informative."
Hunter frowned. "What happened? That second part never happened to me."
"My blood has special properties, and those properties, caused our souls to merge into one, fully, in every sense of the word. Peter's mind saw the wolf's life, while the wolf saw Peter's life, making me, both of them combined, but mainly Peter, as I am the superior mind. It's confusing."
"That's crazy, but at least there's no identity crisis on the way." Hunter said.
"You kidding me? We're all about identity crisis!" I said.
"Is the meeting over yet? Oh wait, I have to give y'all your instructions, how to get what you guys need." I said.
"No, first you're sleeping." Tess said. "Then you can get the plans set, then we can go." She was pushing me out, and so was Shuri. Whitney was just following, as a backup.
Five minutes later, they got me into a room, and pushed me onto a bed. I said "Ok, you got me in the bed, happy now? I'm not sleeping more than five hours, don't want them to be able make new plans, and mess shit up."
"Worry about yourself for one goddamn second!" Whitney shouted at me. "I haven't seen you worry about yourself at all since I met you, and that's worrying, bro. Get your ass under the blankets, and sleep, and dream about twenty plus women on a bed, then get up! Don't go to sleep, and wake up, thinking only about the Council! Goddamn, how do you live with him, Tess?"
"I have found out the hard way that this is him worrying about himself, by him worrying about others." Tess said. "Any worry he had for himself was lost when he switched universes. This right here," she said, gesturing to me sitting on the bed, "is a huge win."
"Goddamn, that's fucked up, man." Whitney said. Then she turned around, aiming to leave the room, but as she was leaving the room, she called back "You better sleep at least six hours, bro! I'm finna fuck Clint with you in hearing distance if you don't!"
I cringed at that. "Ok, I will sleep for six hours, on the dot! Don't wanna be scarred!" I said.
Both Shuri and Tess laughed at that, then left the room.
I let myself fall to sleep, enjoying the softness of the bed. This was fit for a king, man.
Six hours and five minutes later, I woke up, ready to beat the shit outta the Council.
This was going to be crazy.
