After dinner, we all headed to our own rooms, and went to sleep. Me, Tarts, and Death stayed up, not doing too much, just spending some quality family time together.
Before we knew it, it was morning, and everyone was waking up one by one, and getting ready. "Good morning, Aunt May!" I said. "If you want to make wheatcakes you can, but otherwise I will just throw some onto a plate."
"Why don't you?" She said. "It takes more than an hour to make enough, with all of your metabolisms."
"Sure!" I said, then I made a plate filled with wheatcakes, and placed it on the table.
Several minutes later, everyone was at the table, and we all started eating. Eventually, they all finished, and Maria got up, and said "Welp, guess this'll be my first day as Director. Wish me luck, y'all."
"Luck!" We all said, and I added "You got this Mountain, don't worry. And we all got your back."
She smirked. "Your nicknaming logic is very interesting."
I shrugged my shoulders and said "It is. But I like it the way it is, what do you think?"
"I think..." She said. "That I don't have a way to go to the Helicarrier."
"Oh, I got the perfect way." I said, with a wink. "Just get ready, and you guys who are going to the school, teachers and principal have to go early, and us students will head out a little later, and I will be there, even if I spend five hours before coming, time travel comes in handy."
"You're just going to use time travel so trivially?" Tess asked.
"Why not?" I said. "I'm very well acquainted with my powers, time does that to you. I know there are no repercussions, so why not enjoy it?"
"So in how long will Clint ask you to fulfill your promise, and get us an island?" Whitney asked, smirking.
"Ehh, it was going to be sometime in this week, but don't worry, White." I said, grinning. "I got y'all a planet, that's got beaches, and streams, and coconut trees, and everything you could possibly want on a private beach, and the planet's just for horny lover boy and you."
"But what about the rest?" Whitney asked "Doesn't everyone want a beach planet?"
"White, I got ten more beach planets, it's not a problem." I said, looking at her like it was obvious.
"How many planets are in the system?" Sue asked.
"313." I said breezily.
"How does it stay gravitational?" Sue asked. "That's crazy!"
"It has twenty seven suns, that's how." I said. "Marvel at it when you see it. Don't worry for now, you're going to ruin it for yourself."
Aunt May got up, and said "Ok guys. While this topic is very interesting, we all have to go to our respective places. Let's all get ready folks."
We all stood up, and I just sat in front of the door, suit on, waiting for Maria. Two minutes later, Maria came, and said "So how exactly are we going?"
"Oh you'll love this just you wait, all of you agent people are the same when it comes to adrenaline activities." I said, with a wink, then I jumped at her, and teleported us to right in front of The Empire State Building, freefalling.
Maria shrieked for a moment, then she said "Not what I was expecting but this is awesome! Don't drop me!"
She hugged me as we swung, and I said "Mountain, I've done way more dangerous shit, and you're worried about me dropping you? Thanks for the vote of confidence on my skills. You're totally my Mountain to bring me back to reality."
"Don't you forget that!" She screamed into my ear. "Can't have you losing all your human humility now, can we?"
"No, you guys have to kick in singularity humility into me now." I said jokingly. "I have no need for puny human humility."
"So we've got a superiority complex now, over the millennia, huh?" She said, then shook her head in mock disappointment. "Can't leave you alone for a moment, who knows what'll change, so irritating."
"I'm irritating?" I asked, in mock seriousness. "Wasn't I always like that? What changed, since the whole time thing?"
"Well, you're even more irritating!" She said, winking. "You're an oldie now, and that's not hot."
"I was hot before?" I asked. "I thought the correct term was fire?"
"As hot as heat itself, was your words, if I remember correctly." She deadpanned. "Now, you get all cold for Death."
"Gotta admit though." I said "She is hot. Like smokin' hot."
"Yeah, that's true." Maria said, with a hint of...friendly jealousy? "Can't compete with her, at all."
"Ahh, now why exactly would you feel the need to compete with her?" I asked with a smirk in my voice. "Something to explain there, Mountain?"
"Do you even need to use your mind reading?" She asked. "Like, how can anyone manage to think something, without you pulling it out of them, without even meaning to?"
"Hey, hey, don't worry about one of those things I don't even know the answer to myself." I said, patting her shoulder. "But what was that again? Why the need to compete against Death? You're awesome as you are."
"You know the answer, Night." She said. "Please don't push, I need to sort things out myself. But what do you think about the answer to your question?"
I sighed. "I will be honest, while I am slightly surprised, I'm not too much, some Peters did go out with other you, but they broke up, cuz Pete is a righteous shit. But honestly, whatever is between us, or will, I respect you either way, a lot. Mountain doesn't just have to do with your last name, it's also about your personality. You're that mountain over there, you can't be pushed, not unless you want someone to. You need to be mined at a little, to get the true person in the inside. Which is why I push you slightly, I know you like it, and to an extent, need it."
"I don't get it." Maria said. "We have a shell, all of us spies. Nat, me, and Bobbi. How do you just find your way in?"
"I don't know." I said honestly, then swung super high, for a bust of adrenaline. "I honestly don't know. I just try to treat you the way I think you'd like, considering each of yours personalities. That's all I can think of, but we're here now."
We landed in front of the Triskellion, and as soon as we entered, everyone looked at us, some of them putting their hands to their holsters, and I said "Guns don't even tickle me, y'all."
Everyone removed their hands from their holsters, and we made our way up the elevator, and made it to the Director's office. I looked all around, then said "Guess this is where I leave. Good luck, Mountain. Sexi's always around to connect you to me, should you need it."
She nodded, then after a moment of hesitation, she hugged me, and said "Thank you, Peter. We all owe you."
"I do this for y'all, not for me. You know that, Mountain." I said, hugging her back. "Do you want anything else, before I head out?"
"No, I'm fine." She said, parting from me. "Just, having a case of jitters, that's it. I will be fine, thanks Night."
I put my hand to her forehead, and said "I can ease your mind, would you like me to do so?" She nodded, and I eased her nerves.
She took a deep breath, then said "Thanks, Peter. I feel much better now, much more...calm. Till later."
I nodded, then said "Till later. Bye, Mountain." Then I teleported, to my home, to find everyone else who was going to come to school just ready.
"What the fuck!" Luke screamed, I landed right next to him. Everyone looked at him, not knowing that I came, and Ava said "That's my job."
"Yeah, well, tough love, Cubette. I'm taking your job now as the person who scares the crap out of them." I said, then I realized I made a mistake. "Ignore my first statement."
"Yeah, no. Tough love, Pete." Tess said, grinning. She turned to Ava. "Let me know what you think about his planet, when he takes you there."
Ava growled at her, and the other guys shrunk at her growl, but Tess was unfazed. "That's all you got?" Tess asked. "You haven't seen Blackbolt, and even he has nothing on Peter from before the time traveling."
Ava just ignored her, and turned to me. "How're we heading to school?" She asked.
"Glad you asked, but we got all the time in the world, in every sense of the word." She glared at me, and I laughed. "We're taking the Escalade, since you're grumpy." I winked.
"I'm not grumpy." She said, and I raised an eyebrow. Gwen laughed, then said "Yeah, she's grumpy, but not at the same time. But she's more grumpy."
Ava glared at her, and I laughed. "No need to be so grumpy, Cubette. Knew I had the right idea when your nickname came to my mind."
"I don't like it." Ava said, and I just looked at her, and she backed down. "Fine, I like it! How do you just know things like that?"
"Believe it or not, you're not the first person to ask me a similar question today." I said. "And the answer is the same, I don't know, blame my emotional intelligence if you want."
"I would just blame your universe, Karma." Hunter said, watching all of us from the side.
"That might be possible." I said. "It doesn't really matter though, where it comes from doesn't change anything." I looked at Tess. "We're all filing into the car, kiss Hunter and get in quick, 'kay?"
She sputtered, and I laughed as I turned and headed towards the garage, gesturing to the others, then they followed, and we all got into the car. "Shotgun!" Jean called.
I laughed, and said. "Birdie, you're not being fair, but you called it first, so I guess I don't have anything to say against it."
She got into the seat, and so did the others, and Jean said "Not my problem they're forgetful. Your driving is best appreciated from the front."
We waited for a minute, then Tess got into the car. "Had a good goodbye?" I asked teasingly, pulling out of the garage.
"Shut up." She said, then after a moment she added "Liz didn't stay last night, so you have to pick her up."
"Copy that." I said. I started driving, and said "I can't help but notice, you didn't respond to my question. Do I need to give any advice?"
She glared at me, and said "No, thank you very much. We're doing fine, you don't need to say, do, or think, anything."
"What happened to you wanting me to give your dates shovel talks?" I asked, turning to look at her with a smirk. "I'm being a good bro here, help me out. You gotta accept the hand."
"Focus one where you're driving, idiot." Tess said. "And you would have already given a shovel talk, if you felt the need to."
"That's correct." I said, still looking at her. "Hunter's my bro, till I die. Miles you copy? Your sister in a way, is dating Hunter. And I can drive however I want."
"She's dating Hunter!?" Miles asked. "That's actually a pretty badass power couple. But y'all like how many years apart?"
"Big guy, everyone except for Death is practically underage for me." I said. "I will be honest, I don't care about their age difference, I trust Hunter."
Miles looked at me, then he said "You realize your words could be used to say that you, Spider-Man, approve of paedophilia?"
I glared at him full force, and he shrunk into himself, and said "Shutting up now."
"That's what I thought, %#& $." I said, and everyone laughed. "But for real though, that's not what I meant. Just in case it wasn't clear."
Wanda looked at me, and said "I'm seventeen, and you're over eighteen. What exactly did you mean, then?"
Everyone laughed, and I stopped in front of Liz's house, and said "This conversation ends now, Liz's dad is about to walk out of the house with his oh so scary shotgun, and I don't want him hearing anything...different."
Liz's dad walked out, with his shotgun, and Liz followed, looking amused. I got out of the car, and said "Hello, Mr. Allen! Am I supposed to pull my pistol, or what?"
He looked at me for a second, then said "You have a pistol?"
"I do." I said, brandishing a pistol out of nowhere. "And I got more than one, but I don't think that will be right, you only have one." I looked at Liz, and winked. "Hey Lizzy."
"Hey Petey." She said, walking up to me, and punching me in the stomach. "You weren't late today, congrats."
"I was busy the night before that day!" I protested. "I'm not the Director of SHIELD, or something! I'm not immaculately perfect!"
"No, you're not the Director of SHIELD, you're one of their ex targets." She said, smirking. "Which means you have a standard to live up to."
"Yeah, and that standard is to be a good guy, not to be Superman." I muttered, then said "See you later, Mr. Allen!"
"See you later!" He said "And I would take the gun from you, because you're going to school, but I don't even know where all your guns are, so there's no point."
"That's the point of hiding your guns well, Mr. Allen." I said, winking as I got into the car. We drove off, and we all started laughing.
"So today is totally not going to be the most interesting day of school so far." I said, when we finally stopped laughing.
"That stealer girl, right?" Ava saidasked.
"Have some respect for a fellow female feline person!" I said, in mock seriousness. "She has bad luck powers too, so when you faceplant into your lunch, Sam, know that it's because I told her to do that."
We arrived at the school, and the doors opened downwards, and we all stepped out, the kids in the schoolyard looking at us.
Once we were all out, the doors closed, and it drove to the parking lot. Everyone was looking at me like I grew another head, so I said "Yes, that's my car that'll outdo all of yours."
"Yo, forget the kids," Luke said "what's the move, what classes are we taking?"
"Good question, Luke." I said. I handed each of them some papers, and said "Those are your schedules, as well as a map of the campus, and your locker numbers. You should have a meeting with the principal as well, during lunch."
They all nodded, and headed inside, while I just waved at the crowd, and said "Yeah, I got some crazy gifts, don't bother."
Then I walked inside, and got ready for my classes.
I headed for the first class, and once everyone was in the classroom, the teacher said "Ok, kids, we got a new student, be nice to her."
The teacher opened the door, and nodded at someone, then the person entered the door, and lo and behold! It was Felicia Hardy, in all her glory. Ben wasn't wrong, she was totally the Mad Love Album Cover girl. I rolled my eyes at his silliness, then the teacher said "Kids, this is Felicia Hardy! She's your new classmate, be cordial with her." The teacher looked at us for a second, then she turned to Felicia and said "Why don't you take that chair over there, next to Peter?"
I looked next to me, and saw that there was, in fact, an empty seat next to me. I looked at Felicia and shrugged, in a way of saying that it was her choice.
She nodded, and took the seat. I wordlessly gave her my fist for her to bump as the teacher turned to face the board, and she bumped it back.
Wait, I just realized, I couldn't remember what class this was. Bruh, I'm an idiot. What day was it even?
I liked at the board, and saw the teacher was writing the date, and then she said "So, today guys, instead of usual class, we're going to discuss something that's been talked about all over, and I wanted to see your opinions, what do you say?"
Most of the class somewhat perked up, wanting to know what the topic would be.
She wrote one word on the board, then turned around and said "So guys, what do you think about Spider-Man? Raise your hands, this will be an orderly discussion."
Everyone raised their hands except for me and Felicia, and the teacher said "Felicia? Peter? What're your opinions? I've found that the ones who don't raise their hands usually have the most to add to the discussion, and it was publicly revealed that Peter was one of the targets. Which one of you wish to go first?"
I looked at Felicia, and said "You want to go first?" She shook her head, so I turned back to the teacher. "Whay exactly do you want for me to delve on, Ms. Lincoln?"
She looked thoughtful for a second, then she said "How about whether you think he's a good person or not? Let's start with that."
"I think he's not a good person." Flash glared at me at that, and I raised a finger. "I didn't finish, Flash. Give me a minute here. I don't think he's a good person, but in truth, no one is. There is no one soul, that is pure. There are people, who are seemingly bad, but they could be saving your life, or they could have been coerced, you don't always have the full picture, keep that in mind. That point aside, I think that what Ms. Lincoln wanted me to answer is whether I would trust him with my life or not, am I correct?" The teacher nodded, and I said "I do trust him, not only with my life, but my sister's. And the rest of my family and friends."
The teacher nodded, then said "Felicia? What about you?"
She looked thoughtful for a moment, then she said "My father, was actually killed by Fury, or Fury's version of SHIELD. So I am heavily biased in this topic. I honestly think that I am happy, that we have someone out there to protect us, who won't hesitate to kill the person who deserves it. I know we all saw the videos, of him mauling those people that attacked yesterday. And Latveria is calling for Spider-Man, wanting retribution for Doom's death. Now I don't know about any of y'all here, but I would honestly consider it my greatest honor, if I were to even meet him." Girl, you're sitting right next to me. "And as Peter said, that doesn't mean that he's an angel, or something. But we don't need an angel, or a devil. We just need plain new Karma."
Ms. Lincoln nodded. "Well articulated, both of you. Now, onto my next point, do you think he's a hero, and why, or why not?"
Flash raised his hand more eagerly than the rest of the class, so the teacher said "Yes, Flash? What do you think?"
"I think he's a hero!" Flash said eagerly. I rolled my eyes, I didn't even call myself a hero, I called myself an anti-hero. "And I think so because of the way he mauled those word things yesterday!"
"That's not why he is a hero, if he even was a hero." I said. Flash glared at me, and I said "Definitions, Flash. He isn't a hero, and what you mentioned isn't why he's even trustworthy, but that's the second point. He isn't a hero. A hero, is someone who won't kill people like that. A hero, is weak." I basically spat that out in disgust. "A hero, is someone like Captain America. Morals, that don't save everyone. Morals, that are twisted so that the threat isn't ever permanently taken care of, merely temporarily locked up, or something. What Karma is though, is an anti-hero. He's someone whose ideals almost directly clash with a hero's, but they are both aiming at the same thing, the safety of the people. The difference comes, when you think as to who would be more efficient. A hero, would save people every single time, but imagine. He would never kill his enemies, and they would return, time and time again. Every time, we would lose a hundred people, give or take. And in the long run, how many people would we have? Who would we have? Just those heroes, and the villains. Now, in the case of an anti-hero, he or she kills those who deserve it, not more. For example, a while ago, there was a rhino thing, that attacked Manhattan. Karma didn't kill him, he let him go. I don't know about y'all, but I think that if he just killed him, that would be messed up. Like, who won't he kill? But that aside, let's focus on the major villains, so to speak. The maximum casualties would typically be around sixty people, because anti-heroes don't hold back, unless they have a reason to do so. And the villain wouldn't be alive to return, hence, it's way safer...and I totally raised a lot of valid points but I don't think this is what you were aiming at, Ms. Lincoln, sorry."
"On the contrary, I enjoyed your observations." She said. "You dissected the situation way more than I had before, and I appreciate your contribution to the discussion."
I felt Felicia looking at me, so I nodded at the teacher, and said "It's a pleasure." Then I turned to face Felicia, and she had a slightly surprised but calculating in my direction.
I raised an eyebrow at her, as well as tilted my head slightly, in questioning. She nodded at me in appraisal, then said "It appears I underestimated you, Parker. My apologies."
"No apologies necessary." I said smoothly. "You were thrown off for a reason, and I don't project my aura like this frequently. But I didn't underestimate you, keep that in mind."
Her eyes widened ever so slightly, and her heartbeat picked up its pace, than she controlled her eyes, but her heartbeat stayed at a higher pace, and she said "We'll see, Peter."
I smirked, and said "We shall." I turned to the teacher, who was looking at the interaction interestedly, and said "Is that all, Ms. Lincoln?"
She looked at me for a moment, then shook her head. "When did you gain control of the room, is what I'm wondering." I shrugged, and she said "I thought so. You have good teachers."
"An astute observation, Ms. Lincoln." I said with a smirk. "Not many realize that, even though it's quite obvious."
"It's hidden under a very obvious cover." She said "Your cover is obvious, so that only one searching can uncover it. Well done. But back to class, Harry," Harry perked up at the mention "what do you think of Spider-Man? Explain your reasoning as well."
"Can I pass?" He asked. "I don't really know what to think about him yet."
Ms. Lincoln nodded, and said "Understandable. Max, what do you think of Spider-Man, and why do you think of him so?"
"I think Jameson is right." Max said frankly. "I don't necessarily agree with his reasoning, but I agree with what he is calling for. Spider-Man is not the law. He doesn't have the right to go around whacking people in the head and saying bullshit about good-"
"Quite interesting to hear that coming from you, Max." I said coldly.
He turned to face me, glaring, but when he was met with my cold look, he lowered his glare, and said in a small voice "What's that supposed to mean?"
"Everyone in the room knows what I meant, Max." I said "There's no need for elongating this, I was just commenting. Go ahead."
The tension in the room had risen at my words, and I was giving him an opportunity to lessen it. "No, Parker. I want to know, what you meant?"
I laughed darkly. "We're in class now, Max. We all know what happened last time, and this is not the time. You want suspension, far be it from me to deny you the chance."
"Parker, you were lucky last time." He said, nearly growling, and the teacher looked unsure what to do. "You won't be lucky this time. Now, what were you insinuating?"
"My, my, big words." I said. "Like our teacher said," Ms. Lincoln's eyes widened at that. "I have the best teachers there are. I don't think what I did to you the other day had anything to do with luck, Max. You didn't even touch me."
"Don't test my patience, Parker." Max said. "After school, fight me again. Your sister-"
I was holding him by the neck all of a sudden. "If I remember correctly, idiot," I said, seething, "I beat your ass last time, cuz you called my sister a hoe. Don't be stupid, you're going to die then."
I dropped him back into his chair, and walked back to my chair, and sat down. Felicia nodded at me, and gave me her fist, which I bumped with a smirk.
"Class is dismissed, kids." Ms. Lincoln said. "Don't cause any trouble, I'm ending class, because the tension isn't fit for learning. Peter and Felicia, stay, please."
Everyone started filing out of the classroom, Max looking like a dog with his tail between his legs. I looked at Felicia, and shrugged, and she shrugged back, with a smirk. I smirked back.
Once everyone was out, and the door was closed, Ms. Lincoln said "Felicia, I hope this didn't leave a bad impression on you I apologize for the disruption."
"No, it actually was more interesting than annoying, I wasn't expecting it." Felicia said "I will definitely watch what happens after school." She gave me thumbs up.
Ms. Lincoln nodded. "Peter, I will be honest. This whole time, I -"
"Was a SHIELD agent who was assigned to keep an eye on me and my sister, I know." I said with a smirk. "But you wouldn't be telling me that now if you agreed with your mission, so it's alright, you're cool in my books."
She looked at me, and blinked twice, then her phone started beeping. She took it, and looked at it with confusion. "It's the new Director of SHIELD."
I smirked. "Let me answer that. She probably wants you to get off this mission, I could as well do this."
She nodded, then gave me the phone. I answered, then said "Hill! How're you doing!? I'm not the only person in the room."
"I wanted to be able to do this before you, no fair." Maria said, a smile in her voice. "How was school? The others doing good?"
"I think so?" I said weakly. "Ava is definitely fine, she missed studying, and I can feel her. The others, they're here for the vibe, not for studying."
"You can feel her?" Felicia asked "Ignoring the fact that without context, it has a sexual connotation, how do you feel her missing studying?"
"That the Felicia you were telling us about, Pete?" Maria asked.
"You make it sound like I was stalking her, or some shit, Maria." I groaned out. "Yes, that was Felicia Hardy. You got word on whether Fury actually killed her dad or not? Something tells me he isn't dead."
Felicia looked at me in confusion and disbelief. "Just wait a moment..." Maria said, typing quickly. "Ok. He is alive, in a cell Fury stuck him in. He'll be out by tomorrow, Felicia."
"Are you sure it's him?" Felicia asked quietly. "No cell should hold him, he's too good to be held by some cell."
"It's him." Maria said. "According to the file, he said it himself, he was in there by choice, because Fury threatened his wife and then baby daughter."
I tapped Felicia on the shoulder softly. "C'mon, let's go to our next class. I will distract the attention, Maria'll get Walter out."
"Promise me." Felicia said. "Promise me, Maria Hill, that my dad will be back home by tomorrow. Do I have your word?"
"You have my word, Felicia." Maria said. "I was given this position by Night to fix things, and I will fix them."
"Ok." Felicia said, satisfied. "Thank you." She turned to me. "You too, Peter. I don't know how you knew, but I don't care, for now. Thank you."
"It's all good, Felicia." I said. "Now, we got to go, or they'll get suspicious, and that's never good. C'mon."
We went to our next classes, which just happened to be the same ones, but I was calling bull, Sexi definitely had a hand behind it.
The rest of classes went by smoothly, and me an Felicia headed for lunch, and I said "You wanna sit at our table? It's a freakshow, but you'll fit in."
"I don't see why not." She said, then her voice took on a smirk. "But you know what I really want to do?"
"That tone is telling me that I really don't." I said, sitting down at our table, Felicia sitting across me. "Pray tell, what doom hast thou spelt for me?"
She had a look of confusion. "Why didn't it work?" She asked, and I looked at her blankly for a moment, then it clicked, and I started laughing.
"Sorry, Kitty." I said, still laughing. "It'll take more than just your bad luck powers to make me trip, hahaha."
She glared at me, then said "How do you know? I don't get it, nothing should have come back to me, SHIELD doesn't even know I took my dad's mantle."
"Where do you think Karma got his badass suit from, Kitty?" I asked. Her eyes widened, and I said "Now you get it, some of it at least. Don't ask more, please."
"I won't, I guess." Felicia said. "But I honestly wasn't looking forward to you tripping, I was going to say I wanted to see how you fought, but I thought it would be fun to mess you up, which -"
"Failed completely, considering he's Peter." Tess cut in. I glared at her, and she smirked. "That teacher said something about you schooling her."
"Did she now?" I asked amusedly. "Did Talia kick your ass in PE? Please tell me that she did, just for the kicks."
"No." Tess said, smirking. "I think you might want to know what actually happened, but I'm keeping it from you."
"For how long?" I asked. "If it's anything important, she will tell me, in her own time. I don't care to pull it out of you, she'll tell me if she wants to."
The others came over and sat down, Ava looking at Felicia for a moment, then said "You don't look another 'female feline person' in Peter's words."
Felicia choked on her drink, then regained her bearings, and said angrily "What do you know about that? Who's to tell you so?"
"Woah, woah, whoa." I said, putting my hands out. "No cat fights in school, even though it will be hella entertaining."
Felicia glared at me, then realization clouded her anger, then she glared at Ava instead, and said "So you're the SHIELD lackey, that tiger girl, huh?"
Ava growled at her, and was about to jump at Felicia, and I was nearly tempted to laugh when I saw Felicia's face.
She looked angry as hell, and while I was slightly scared, I knew she wouldn't do anything to Ava. "I'm tempted to scratch the hell out of you right now." Felicia said, seething.
"The feeling's mutual, housecat." Ava growled back, and that just broke me, and I started cracking, the others joining in.
I felt a claw dig into my abs, and I just looked at Ava while healing it, saying "You realize you can't hurt me?"
"How hard are your abs?" She asked, looking at her bent claws. "Did you make them out of vibranium, or something?"
"No," I said, squinting at her in confusion. "they're just how they're supposed to be?" I shrugged, not knowing what to say.
"Can I just ask something?" Tess asked, with a smirk.
"You already did." I said. "But no, you cannot ask what you wanted to ask, I know it'll be nothing good."
"Based on your previous... Experiences..." Tess said, not caring about what I said. "Are... Female feline persons" Felicia and Ava glared at her, and she quickly backtracked. "that's just what Pete called you, so we'll roll with it for now. Are they..." The smirk on her face grew "Territorial?"
I spit out my Coke back into my cup, and said "You did not just ask for them to get on your ass, did I hear you right?"
"I didn't..." Tess said, her voice petering out as she looked at the two of them, and she said "I did. My bad, don't scratch me, please! Good kitties?"
They both glared at her even more, and I was honestly worried for Tess, when Felicia said "Just you wait, when there are no innocents around, you're going to regret saying all that."
I sighed gratefully, and Ava glared at me. "Don't think you're off the hook, Mister." She said. "You gave that name."
"I'm not worried for myself, I was worried about Tess." I said "I can deal with whatever you two hash at me, but she can't."
Then I saw Natasha come into the lunchroom, looking a little sick, but happy at the same time. "You good, Talia?" I asked "I just saved Tess's ass, Hunter will be happy."
Tess sputtered at that, but Nat ignored what I was saying, and Tess, and just took my hand, and pulled me out of the lunchroom.
I just went along, not knowing what this was about. The moment we were alone, Talia turned to me, and kissed me super duper hard.
I obviously kissed back (like obviously!) Still not knowing what this was about, but enjoying it anyways. After five minutes, we parted, and she looked at me happily.
"Is everything good, Talia?" I asked, unsure. "I mean, whatever happened, it's obviously good, judging from your kiss, and your expression, but I just had to ask, I'm rambling now..."
She laughed happily, and said in Russian. "I think, Melina is on her way. What do you say? You as happy as me now?"
I looked at her for a second, then picked her up into my arms, and kissed her with all my might, I was so happy.
After like ten minutes, we parted, and I said "That answers your question?" She nodded, her eyes alight with excitement.
"Yes, it does." She said "Now, you have to go to your freakshow crew, and spend the rest of your school time, then come back home, and we'll celebrate."
"Totally!" I said "Her room is going to look beautiful, no boring pink room for her, she'll have an awesome room!"
"Whoa, calm down there, stallion." She said, laughing. "Before that, you have to get her maternal aunt, y'know."
"I will bring all of the Widows, if you want me to." I said, too happy to be calmed down, I was the same with Tarts, I remember. "But you're right, I got to go."
"I'm always right." She said, and I was thinking what to say to that, when she laughed, and said "Relax, Daddy Spider. I was joking, you don't need to find the right answer."
I kissed her again, and after two minutes, we parted, and then I gently lowered her down, and said "You sure you can go home fine?"
"Shut the fuck up." She said playfully, then kissed me on the cheek. "I will be fine, I'm not handicapped, not yet."
I nodded, not being able to articulate my feelings, and she laughed, and left the hallway, saying that she would go home. I just blinked in response.
When she was gone, I went back to the lunchroom, still glowing, and not going to let anything stop me.
I sat down, and Felicia looked at me, then said "You look like someone just told you you were expecting a kid. What happened?"
Tess, Crystal, Wanda, Betty, AJ, Cindy, and Jean spit their drinks out at that, and I laughed happily. "That's because that's what happened, right on the nail." I said, glowing.
"Ok wait, backtrack for a moment, hold up, what?" Felicia said "You, and that admittedly hot woman are expecting?"
"She isn't just admittedly hot." I said, giddy with excitement. "She's smokin' hot. And yes, me and Talia are expecting. Can't wait till I tell Sexi."
"I already know, Dad!" Sexi said from our watches, a smile in her voice. "I'm the one who got her the pregnancy test! Congrats Dad! I'm so happy! Can't wait to meet my more than half-sister!"
"You already have a daughter?" Felicia asked "And why is it more than half-sister? I'm confused, care to enlighten me?"
Sexi did her usual introduction to Felicia, along with the explanation of her body's systems. After she explained, Felicia said "So he's got more than one girl? What's his specialty?"
She looked at me confusedly, and I was too giddy to tell her to stop digging. She looked at me for a second, then she said "Oh. I get it now. I said it would be an honor to meet Karma, when he was right there, next to me."
"Yep, you did." I said.
"Ok, cool, I'm not at all embarrassed about the fact that I did that, I'm totally fine with that." She said.
I laughed, rolling my eyes, and said "No teacher or student will be able to darken my mood, the bell will ring you guys to hell in three seconds, but I'm just ready for heaven."
The bell rang, and everyone groaned, but I just laughed, and stood up, and said "You freakshows just proved my point."
I didn't stick around to wait for their response, just jumping away, like I was on drugs, or something.
"Peter!" I heard Bobbi scream at me. I turned, to see her in a suit and tie, smiling. "Get off your high, will ya? And congrats!"
"Thanks, Principal Morse!" I said, winking at her. "And I'm never high, you know that." I 'dug' into my pocket and pulled out a bar and gave it to her.
"You're in a really good mood, good for me." She said, taking the bar. "I will eat it when I'm on the way home, thanks! And congrats again!"
I just hugged her happily, then said "Thank you!" And ran away again, happy beyond comparison. Not even my fight with Max would destroy my mood.
I just went through school happily, Whitney, Sue, and Okes each congratulating me when I got to their classes, which I just took happily.
I walked out, the car coming to the front doors down for us to enter, but there was a circle of people, and Max was there, and my family and friends were looking at me in questioning.
"Oh yeah!" I chirped out happily. "Max wanted to get his ass on the ground again, I forgot to tell y'all. My bad."
"You're bad, that's right, Parker." Max said. "I brought some of my brother's friends and my brother this time, they're in college, you're dead."
Some buff dudes entered the schoolyard, and I just laughed, and said "Dude, I got a party to get to, but ok."
They all circled me, and I chuckled, and the guy I thought was Max's older brother said "Kid, you threatened my brother, that was a bad idea."
"I'm not hearing the part where your idiot of a brother called my sister a hoe, care to tell me who went too far?" I said, cupping my hand to my ear for emphasis.
"Even if Max did that, you went too far, asshat." One of the other dudes said "You don't get to brandish knives just like that."
"Oh, goody." I said, twirling a knife all of a sudden. "Even though I didn't use my knives for anything other than making a point, that's bad."
I put my knife back, (what can I say, they felt comforting, to have on my person, rather than just making them) then said "Like I did with Max, I won't use my knives, or go on offense."
"You sure about that?" The one who said I went too far before asked.
"You see that dude over there?" I said, pointing at Luke. "He's way buffer than you, you can see that. I've beat him, without any trouble. I'm nimble, a dancer, and I'm the best at what I do, so yes, I'm sure you'll be biting the dust in the end."
Max's brother cracked his neck, then said "Max, you go first. I want to make sure he's worth my time."
"Oh, I'm worth all the time in the world." I said, flipping and twirling on my pinky finger, dodging Max's attack.
Max stopped himself from falling into the crowd, then he turned to me, and said "Fight me, coward! You always just dodge, and what good is that, coward?"
I continued to twirl, but increased my speed, and was twirling in his direction. "The best defense, is the best offense."
I spun even faster, and jumped up right in front of him, and hit his pressure points, making him fall immediately. "Play some dance music, please." I said.
Naked Truth by Sean Paul and Jhene Aiko started playing, and I groaned, and said "This wasn't what was in my mind, but it'll work."
They started attacking, but I just danced around them, hiring a pressure point or two every now and then, singing all the while. "And that's the. Naked truth." I sung, kneeling one of them.
I timed it perfectly, so that when I took care of all of them, the song came to a close, and I gave an extravagant bow, then said "Let's go, folks!"
No one commented, but Felicia said "Shotgun!" Jean grumbled, and we all got into the car, with me glowing all the while.
"I'm going to paint my girl's room, it's going to look beautiful!" I said "It'll have a pocket dimension drawer for her toys, and -"
"Ok, calm down, you still have a little less than a year to wait for her to be able to adore her room, chillax." Tess said.
"Besides, you didn't do this for Tarts or Sexi." Betty said "Is it just me, or is that favoritism? I'm not criticizing, there's probably something I don't know."
I looked at her seriously while revving the engine. "You haven't seen Tarts or Sexi's room, have you? They're each their own pocket dimensions, and have pocket dimensions within."
"Normal doesn't work for you, huh?" Wanda said, kissing me on the cheek. "I wouldn't be surprised if there were planets in them too."
"Uhh," I slowed my speed, thinking about what to say. "I may or may not have made them a portal to their own solar systems in their rooms."
"Yeah!" Sexi said "It's beautiful! I can control the color of the stars, the weather of the planets, everything, with just a mental command!"
"I said may or may not, sunshine." I said "And the default color of the stars are your eyes' colors, you know that, right?"
"That is super sentimental, and beautiful." Gwen said. "You're one of a kind, Pete. But are you even focusing on your driving?"
"Of course I am!" I said, with a grin. "What type of a guy do you think I am? I'm not about to risk your lives! By the way, Kitty, you coming to my place, or where's your place?"
"Take me to your place." Felicia said "My mom's...out for work." Her face had a frown, and she muttered "Because Big Man is a good person to work for."
"Your mom works for Tombstone?" I asked. "This'll be interesting. When I take down Lonnie, you can come along, for the kicks."
"You know who he is?" She said, looking at me. "What's his full name? I can take him down for good, I have to!"
"Calm down for a second there, Kitty." I said "I already made Luke a promise that I would get his parents out, and I have to take care of The Red Room after that, then Big Man."
"Fine." She said "Make it fast. He's giving drug to kids, you have to stop that. His drugs are super dangerous, and probably are killing people."
"I know, Felicia." I said, sadly. "I know. I know all this stuff, more intimately than you'd think I would. It's those kids calls, not mine. I can only try my best."
"In your...past lives," Tess asked "did you ever do drugs?"
My silence, and my revving of the engine, was answer enough.
The car was filled with silence after that, not awkward silence, but somber silence. We pulled into the driveway, and the garage door opened, and I pulled it into the garage.
I was about to get out of the car, when Tess said "Pete." I froze at that, and she continued. "It's ok to admit it, you know. I expected it, and you're still my big brother."
"A big brother who is bad." I said. "Miles cussed in front of his parents as a six year old, because I messed him up."
"That wasn't your fault, Pete." Miles said softly. "You made the best out of what you were given, no one here is shaming you. We won't talk about it, but it's ok."
"It better turn out ok, or I will fail Melina as well." I said, getting out of the car, the others doing the same. "I'm bad at the things that matter the most."
Sexi opened the garage door, and looked at me, and said "Maria wants to know how she should get back home, what do I say?"
"I will get her." I said, then teleported to Maria's office. Maria looked up at me from her desk, smiling, but when she saw my expression, she looked worried.
"What happened, Peter?" She asked. "You're supposed to be happy, and excited. Why do you look all...angsty?"
She came up to me, and hugged me. I hugged her back, and explained everything softly. When I was done, she said "That doesn't mean you're a bad family man, Night. You're the best."
"I failed my little brother, I think that qualifies me as a bad family man." I said. "Melina is coming, and I can only think of -"
"Don't think about the past, Pete." She said, cutting me off. "Learn from the past, yes, but don't dwell upon it. You learned from it, that's why Tarts and Sexi are so good!"
"I guess so, Mountain." I said "But, I can't help but -"
"Uh-Uh." She said, putting a finger to my lips, not that it could do anything, the gesture was what counted. "None of that nonsense. You're not giving me your illogical rebuttals, you're going to agree with me, and this Mountain ain't budging on this."
I smirked. "Thanks for that, Mountain. I needed that, but it doesn't mean those thoughts aren't still there."
"I'd think that every parent has those thoughts, all the time, Peter." She said "Tell me, didn't you think this all when you had Sexi?" I nodded. "When you and Death were expecting Tartarus?" I nodded again. "When you met Tartarus for the first time?" I nodded again. "When you raised Tartarus throughout the millennia?" I nodded again, I guess she had a point. "When you play with Sexi and Tartarus?" I nodded again. "You see my point, now let's go home."
I hugged her tightly, and said "You really are my Mountain, thanks Mountain." Then I teleported us home, back into the garage, to the moment that I left.
"Did I just get a little older than I should be at this point of time?" Maria asked. I nodded with a smirk, and she parted from me and said, smiling "Thanks!"
"No problem!" I said, opening the door. "Now, it's time to party! Oof!"
I was assaulted by one Natasha Romanov, who jumped into my arms, and kissed me, then said in Russian. "We're going to be parents! Well, you already are a parent, so yeah! But I'm going to have a kid! I'm going to -"
"You're going to be a Momma Spider." I said, smiling. She looked at me with a smile, then said "Yeah! I will!"
"Well, then, Momma Spider, why don't we go in?" I said "I've got to get Melina's room, solar system, and things ready."
"That stuff, will wait." She said. "For when we get her maternal family around, we're all going to work on that, together, all her aunts and uncles, from both sides."
"You guys are talking in murder language, we can't understand." Tess said. "Well, Wanda, Pietro, and Sexi understand, but no one else does."
"Not our problem." Me and Talia said at the same time. We looked at each other, and said simultaneously "Point one for Spy-der parents!"
Tess groaned, and said "Whatever. None of us can get the nonsense y'all spout, so whatever." Then she walked into the house with a huff.
"Ooh, someone's salty, what's wrong?" I said, smirking. "You don't have any language just for you and Hunter? Just do it with your eyes instead!"
"Yeah, loud it over me all you want!" She said, her voice muffled. "I'm just going to finish all of Aunt May and Aunt Nari's cookies, and you won't have any of it!"
I rushed to the table, Nat still in my arms, and put my hand to the plate with only one cookie left, and turned it into thirty cookies. "Said something?" I said victoriously, while eating cookies.
Bobbi came, and hugged me, and said "Thank you for the bar! It was awesome! I'm practically on my toes!" She was on her toes. Then she ran off.
"You're welcome?" I said, and Nat laughed. I took one of the cookies, and fed it to her, and then said "This'll be awesome, even with our coming mental breakdowns."
"You said it." She said, then placed a kiss on my cheek.
Aunt May came to the room, and nodded at Sexi, who pressed a button, causing a loud sound to go all around the house. "Party time, people!" Aunt May screamed out.
She was going to regret that.
