It had been a week since I and Luke saved Luke's parents, and I had spent the time by contacting the Widows my mom had rescued, and working towards getting the pheromone canceller, so as to undo the pheromone control The Red Room had on their Widows.
Now, we were sitting around at my place, I had the majority of The Widows come to my place, so as to undo the surgeries that The Red Room administered on them, to give them a new chance to live. They came one by one, and most of them stayed, but I still had to use The Cradle on some of them, who were yet to come.
"Dad," Sexi said "The Red Room is falling into your trap, and they have converged on a Widow you still hadn't brought here yet, her name is Roksana."
"It's go time." I said, smiling. Then I teleported to Morocco.
Ten minutes later, Roksana was in her room, getting ready to go, when she saw a Widow on a rooftop, aiming at her. Quickly, she took the box that had the pheromone canceller, and ran out of the house. The moment she walked out of the door, she was confronted by the Widow she saw on the roof. They fought fiercely for the first few minutes, then Roksana stopped fighting for real, and let the other Widow get the better of her. The other Widow stabbed Roksana in the stomach, and Roksana sprayed a puff of the pheromone canceller in her face, and her face was clouded in red dust for a moment, then it cleared away.
"Roksana, I'm so sorry." The other Widow said.
"This was always the plan, Yelena." Roksana said "Go, save the others." Roksana gave Yelena the box that had the pheromone canceller, and the life left her eyes.
Yelena took the box, and got up, and in the distance, you could hear a female say "Converge on leader!"
Yelena started leaving, but she stopped for a second, then said "A Widow doesn't get killed, she lets herself die, Roksana. Where did you want me to go?" Then she left.
A moment later, another Widow came, and looked at the body, then put her hand to her ear, and said "She's gone, all there is left is a body." Then she left herself.
I got out of Roksana's house, and dissolved the body, and said "All is going as planned, thankfully."
I teleported back home, and looked at the actual Roksana, not the carbon copy I made for the mission. "It worked, and Roksana is dead to The Red Room."
She tilted her head, then said "Perhaps you are worthy of being the child of a Widow, after all."
"I'm more than worthy, woman." I said. "If anything, you are the unworthy ones, I'm outdoing y'all with my planning."
"Oh, really?" Nat challenged, walking up to me, and coming into my arms. "I think you're just letting things roll out the way they would've anyways, and you're just fixing the small points, making sure everything goes down smoothly."
"The smallest things can make the biggest differences, Talia." I said, then kissed her cheek. "And you know, the way I do things is to hope for the best, expect the worst, and plan for both. And that's worked well for me so far."
"Hmm, so tell me, what do you think is the worst, and what do you think is the best?" Talia said.
"The best, would be for everything to be done by the next three days, and for Dreykov to be dead, for real." I winked at her when I said that. "And the worst, would be that Masters joins them, and I have to fight two Taskmasters, and then I have to fight HYDRA as well, and then both Furys dig themselves out of The Masque's Home, and then I find out that I didn't actually kill the Inheritors, and then The Maker comes as well, and then I die the honorable death, that has always been waiting for me, and then I don't get to meet Melina, but that's not happening, obviously, but that's what I consider the worst."
"And you have plans for in case that happens?" Tess said, and when I nodded, she said "Sometimes, I want to say you're overreacting, but I know you're not, and that's really annoying."
"Ehh, who cares, it's fax." I said. "But now, Stage one is complete, Stage two is in execution, and Stage six is when the fun starts for real. I think I need to redefine what I consider fun though."
"Yeah, this is fun to you?" Tony said, he was in and out of the place, he had a lot of problems at Stark Industries ever since he called for no more weapons, and so he was super busy, and so was Pepper. "Fun shouldn't have violence involved, fun should be drinking, or racing, or something, not blowing places up."
"That's not the direction I was thinking in, although that is a good direction." I said, smirking. "The Spark of the future should think like that, then we're all going to be safe. I was thinking, that what with my new powers, this stuff is like driving my car at fifty miles per hour, and I need to go ninety, to actually feel that adrenaline."
"I still didn't get to use this body for real, Peter." Talia said, stretching her spider legs. "In which one of your steps do I get to have fun? My fun doesn't have to be universe size, it can just be simple stuff, like this. When do I enter the field?"
I looked at her worriedly, then said "Talia, can that wait? I can't risk anything, you two are too important. How about we wait till after Melina comes around, then we can have real fun, beating aliens up for no real reason, except that we need that adrenaline. And you got a whole lot of weapons, you will have a blast. For now, I'm having a carbon copy do your part in the dangerous parts, I can't risk you. If you want to though, you can come, but I just..." I couldn't bring myself to voice my fears, but everyone knew what was on my mind.
Talia kissed me on the lips, then said in Russian "I will hold you to that, Daddy Spider. I get it, and that's why I'm fine with it, but after, if you tell me to take care of Melina, instead of kicking ass, your ass will be the one that gets kicked, understood?"
I nodded, then said "It's not like you're even going to be off the field fully this whole thing, we're going to go to Budapest in a while, for step three, and we can take Birdbrains along with us, and remind him about the good times, which I unfortunately wasn't present for. Like, hiding atop the subway, awesome!"
"Finally, someone who agrees with my perception of fun, I couldn't get Clint to admit it for like forever, and I wanted to do that again, but he wouldn't look at that map again, sadly." Talia said, then turned to face Clint, who looked pale beyond his life. "What do you say, Clint? Wanna blow the place up again?"
"No!" Clint said, immediately. I could hear his heartbeat, it was all over the place, and I could see his follicles producing sweat. "Sorry, I don't want PTSD, I'm fine as I am."
I laughed, and said "You already have PTSD, Clint. Can you hear that heartbeat of yours? It sounds more like a drum with no rhythm than anything. The best way to get rid of PTSD, is to face your fears, and defeat, them, prove your peen is as big as you'd want to have us believe it is."
"Leave me alone!" He said, shrinking into himself. He turned to Whitney, then said "Whitney, hun, can you please tell them to stop bullying me? I don't want to die!"
Whitney laughed, then said "I thought you could spot danger as it came, with your hawk eye? What's there to be scared of?" Then she turned to us, and said "You guys bullied him for long enough, don't kill him just yet, I like him alive."
"He wasn't going to die, just see hell, it isn't that bad once you get used to it, you know." I said, jokingly. "I was going to introduce him to Mephisto, and show him how to shoot an arrow for real, and not like a Poorshot. In the middle, he would probably lose a limb or two, maybe his soul, but nothing would go too far, all in a good training."
Clint dug his face into Whitney, and we all laughed. Then I said "Ok, so the copy of Talia is in an undisclosed location, eating noodles, and watching TV, and I must admit, it's interesting, what the world has to say about me, and according to them, my crusade. They think I'm some sort of alien, which isn't wrong, but dude! How far off is the world, that suddenly, calling someone an alien is totally normal!"
"You're an alien, yo." Johnny said. "You don't have a say on our earthly customs, you extraterrestrial."
"Johnny, what's wrong with you?" Sue said. "It's one thing, that Peter does his usual thing of looking at himself in a skewed way, but why are you making it worse for him?" She turned to look at me, and said "You're not an alien, Peter. You were a human in every sense of the word, so you're always going to be a human."
"I disagree." Death said. "Humans don't get to edit their body to the electron, and make their body look exactly the way they want it to look. He was a human, but he isn't a human, he's a singularity."
"Ok, but we don't need to let him go all ballistic over that, Death." Sue said. "You know him the best, you know what I'm talking about."
"We cleared this up sixteen million years ago, mortal." Death said amusedly. "He knows he isn't human, and he's fine with that."
"I really am, Sue." I said. "This was my choice, and I'm living with it, knowing why I did it, I did it for you guys. I'm truly happy with this, now I could probably match up in strength and omnipotence with The Beyonder, and I'm cool with that."
"You're weird, Dude." Shuri said.
"Right back at ya, Dudette." I said. "Ooh, the action is starting! I'm about to meet this wannabe Taskmaster for the first time."
"How did we change topics?" Tess asked.
"Forget that, now I have to drive for like thirty minutes, before things actually start!" I whined. "Sometimes, patience can be a virtue that also kills your soul."
"Why don't you walk us through what I am supposedly doing." Talia said, smirking. "Or does my copy have no clothes on, or has larger -"
"Why would I do that!?" I said. "You're amazing as you are, that's so weird, ewww."
I made a bunch of glasses, and set them on the table, and said "This'll show it all from first person POV."
Everyone put them on, and we started watching the show.
I was driving in the SUV, looking like Talia, and whenI reached the bridge, my car got blown up, and I was upside down. "Finally." I said, and popped the door of the car off, and all of a sudden, a shield was stuck there. I looked at it, it was the Taskmaster shield. I pushed it out of the way, then stood up, and took the shield. Taskmaster activated her claws, and rushed at me, and I flipped over her, and dug the shield into the back of her suit, then took it back out, destroying some of her suit's integrity. She looked at me, then backed away, aiming at the pheromone canceller. I shot a web at it, and pulled it back to me. Taskmaster started fighting me in earnest, and I lazily fought her back, using only moves taught by The Red Room, until I jumped off the bridge. I landed in the water, and the moment I was underwater, I teleported back home, and dissolved my original copy that was at home, and switched my looks back to mine, and handed the box to Talia.
"What's this for?" She asked. "I know what's in this box."
"You know what was in this box, before it came into your sister's hands. She sent a message for you, look at it." I said.
She looked at it in a new light, and slowly opened it, then pulled out the paper that was in it, and looked at the pictures, then started crying softly. I sat next to her, and pulled her into me. She continued to cry softly for a couple minutes, then softly said "I thought she was fine, how could I? I'm a bad sister."
"And I'm a bad brother." I said. "These are facts, but we have the chance to fix it, and make them facts of the past, that are no longer true in the present, and the past, will merely be the past."
"Will I get to see her, now?" Talia asked. "It's step three now, will she be around?"
"You're part of steps three, four, and five, so that you can see your family, Talia." I said. "C'mon, get up, you're too heavy to pick up." I said playfully, nudging her. "You sure Melina isn't due next week?"
"That wasn't funny, Peter." She said, getting up. "Like, I'm fit as hell, and you just said I was heavy."
She pressed a button, and her suit formed around her immediately. It was the usual black, with the blue lines running through it, and the hourglass on the front.
I got up, and made my suit form around me, then said "Remaining Widows, you guys won't be required, until when we storm The Red Room."
The I teleported us to Budapest, to a rooftop near the safehouse. "Ready?" I asked. "Wait that was a stupid question, of course you aren't. I'm here for you, Talia, whatever you need."
She hugged me, and I put my arm around her, and were watching the city for a minute, then she said "Us spy types are ready for anything, until it comes to family."
"Let's get one more point for the Spy-der Fam then, and patch our souls, Momma Spider." I said in Russian.
"Yeah, let's." She said, then shot a web, and swung, and I followed.
After a minute, we made it to the safehouse, and I crawled on the walls, following Nat. She broke the door open, and cocked a gun, and said "I know you're in here."
"I know you know I'm in here." Yelena called out.
"I know that you know that I know that you're in here." Talia said, then faced a door, to see Yelena pointing a gun at her.
They fought for a couple of minutes, the same way they did in the movie, but with the use of Nat's spider when they were stuck in the curtain, Talia sliced it with her legs, then raised her hands, and said "Enough."
They both lay on the ground, and Yelena said "Nice upgrades, by the way. That friend of yours give them to you, after they were ripped off of him?"
"Not cool, Yelena." Talia said. "He nearly died that day, and did in a way."
"He nearly died the other day as well, with those things. They looked like people from the 17th century, how'd he come across them?"
"They were looking for him, Yelena. I don't know what to tell you, Yelena. Should I say sorry, or what, I don't know."
"The Red Room is still out there, even though you want to think you took care of them."
"I thought I killed Dreykov, guess I didn't." Nat said, sighing. "I know, Peter told me."
"Peter's Karma?" Yelena asked. When she got a nod, she said "Nice name, but how is that Hawkeye dude?"
"What about him?" Talia asked, looking confused. "It sounds like you're thinking something."
"I don't know, maybe I'm thinking about how you have him wrapped around your finger, but he doesn't know that you can't have kids, or does he? You and him are dating, right?"
"Ewww, no! Yelena, he's like my brother! No! And I'm pregnant right now, you know."
"How?"
I showed myself, and jumped off the wall, onto the ground. "You see, I'm one of the smartest people in the universe, so I was able to undo what they did to her, and I can do it for you too, if you want."
"So you were just spying on us? You sure you're not one of us?" Yelena asked.
"I am one of you, my mom was -"
"You're the grandchild!" Yelena exclaimed.
"Yes, I'm the grandchild. Now, this place will be stormed in three seconds."
Three seconds later, the place was stormed, and I teleported us to the rooftop of the safehouse.
One Widow was on the rooftop, and she pursued us, and then we got separated from Yelena. The Widow fell of the rooftop, and me and Nat jumped after her. I made sure Talia landed softly, and the Other Widow was laying on the floor, on the verge of tears. "I don't want to." She said. "Please, he's making me. I don't want to."
She put her hand to her face, and was about to shoot, when I made it to her in a flash, and moved her hand from her face, then administered the pheromone canceller. "You good?" I asked.
"Thank you." She said.
Yelena ran to us, a pheromone canceller in her hand, then she saw the pheromone canceller still in the air, and said "How do you have it?"
"Yelena, I made it." I said. "Now's not the time though, we have to go." I gave a hand to the Widow, and she used it to pull herself up.
"True, but we're going to have to talk later. Follow me." Yelena said shortly, then ran out.
"I am so scared." I said sarcastically, but followed her anyways.
We stopped at a motorcycle, and Yelena dug into her pockets, then said "Where is it?" Talia stepped up, and pulled the keys out of her pocket, and Yelena said "Ahh, bitch." In Russian.
Talia turned the motorcycle on, and I made my own, flashier motorcycle, that matched my colors, and Yelena got on behind Talia, while the other Widow got behind me. We started driving in one direction, but then a tank came out of nowhere, and was blocking our way. Immediately, we turned around, and increased our speed, but then several Widows appeared at the end of the alley. "Use the walls!" I said.
"Copy that!" Nat said, and when we were twenty feet away from the Widows, we jumped off the road with our spider legs, landing on the wall with them, then landing back on the road behind the Widows, and went to about one hundred miles per hour.
We were followed by the tank, and other Widows were also tailing us on their own motorcycles. We increased our speed, and the Widow behind me tightened her hold on my waist, and I totally ignored her breasts pressing against my back. (Did I say totally? I meant to say that I never noticed that she had large breasts in the first place.)
"What's your name?" I called back.
"Sabine!" She said.
"Nice to meet you, Sabine!" I said. "Talia, don't turn until you're in the air, just go straight!"
She didn't say anything, but I know she heard, and when we were in the air, we turned, and I grabbed her bike, and changed our bikes into one Ferrari with the hourglass logo on the seats, the hood, and the back window, and said "Now, it's the vibe for Widows!"
Nat grabbed the wheel, and started driving as soon as we were back on the road, and Sabine took shotgun, and me and Yelena were stuck in the back. I looked back, and saw Taskmaster rising out of the tank. I swung out of the car, and stood on top of it. Taskmaster shot, and I shot a web at the arrow, and pulled it to me, then I grabbed it with my hand, and when it blew up, nothing happened. Taskmaster continued to shoot, and I continued to grab the arrows. Then Talia said "Ok, ditch the car!"
"Copy that!" I said, then a Widow got too close, and Yelena broke her door off, smashing it into the Widow, and throwing her off her bike. "Why!?" I and Sabine said.
"We're going to throw the car anyway, stop being babies." Yelena said.
"That doesn't mean you just waste my car like that." I said, then stopped the car, and dissolved it, making it seem like my nanobots did it, for the cameras, then said "The Subway is right here!"
We all went into the subway, and then hid in Talia's hiding place, where she and Clint spent a week in. "We spent a week here." Talia said. "Good times, huh."
"I wish I was there." I said, then I teleported us.
We landed in front of a small town's diner, and then I changed our outfits to normal outfits. "How did you do that?" Yelena asked.
"My Chaos magic." I said. "It gives me the ability to limitedly change reality, just like Web Magic, which I prefer to use sparingly."
"You're weird, in a nice way." Yelena said "Homies, till we die?" She gave me her fist.
I bumped her fist. "Homies, till the day we die." I said it soberly, as if we were in a ritual, then I imploded into laughter, the others following.
"Ok, now, let's have some food, you humans are probably starving." A copy of me walked out of the diner, four plates of food in my hands.
We all sat down, and started eating. After we finished, Talia said "So what's step four?"
"Step four, will be annoying." I groaned out. "I have to break someone out of jail, that I don't even like."
"I was putting that off, y'know." Yelena said, sighing. "That's why I got Nat first, I didn't feel like it."
"Sometimes, you have to do stuff, even though you don't want to." I said. "Speaking of things you want to do, when we go back home, I can undo the surgeries The Red Room administered on you, and you can have a new chance at life, there are other Widows there, that already got it undone, it's your calls."
I looked at Yelena and Sabine, and after a moment, they both nodded minutely.
"Now that that's sorted out," Talia said "who are we breaking out of jail? You guys didn't say the name."
"The Red Guardian, that's who." I and Yelena said.
"Oh." Talia said, her mood instantly souring.
"What did he do to y'all, you guys look like you're going to meet your personal devil." Sabine asked.
"Long story, Sabine." Talia said, sighing.
"Well, we got all the time in the world," Sabine shot back. "Peter here could probably do some shit to mess with time if we don't."
"Fine, I'll tell." Nat said.
Ten minutes later, Nat finished explaining, and Sabine said "So, you guys are having a reunion for the fully functional dysfunctional family, got it."
"That's one way to describe it." I said, after a moment.
"That's the only way to describe it." Sabine insisted. "Jailbreak time, girls, and guy."
Twenty-five minutes later, in Russia, The Red Guardian was sitting at the lunchroom of the Gulag, the Russian Guantanamo Bay. People continued to try and defeat him in arm wrestles, and he was just crushing them. Someone came up, looking all buff, and tried to win against him. The Red Guardian made a fool out of him, breaking his wrist.
"Aleksei, Red Guardian," A man's voice came on the speakers. "you are being summoned for your mail pickup."
Aleksei got up, and went to the place to pick up the mail, and found a Red Guardian figure. He took it, and started playing with it, then the head popped open, revealing a comm unit. Aleksei put it on his ear, and a voice came on. "Today's your lucky day, Aleksei." A female's voice said. "Get up, and go towards the left exit."
"Natasha, it's so good to hear from you." Aleksei said.
"Just shut up," a man's voice said "and follow the directions."
"And who do you think you are, that you can talk to me, The Red Guardian, like that?" Aleksei said, getting up from his chair anyways, and heading towards the exit. Two guards went up to him, but he knocked them out.
"I think I'm the dude that knows that you're just a fucking nuisance, so get your ass out, quickly." He said.
Aleksei made a prison riot, and people were running all over, and guards were shooting at them. Aleksei got out, then said "You think you stand a chance against me!? Laughable."
"Get your ass on top of the tower, Aleksei." Talia said.
"Jeez, I am!" Aleksei said, jumping up, and reaching for the tower. "What's got you in such a twist?"
He was almost at the top, when a guard managed to push him off the wall, and he was surrounded by guards, who were aiming at him. "Some help, please." Aleksei said into the comms.
I jumped off the helicopter, and landed in front of Aleksei, and said "I really am thinking of beating you up, instead of the guards." Then in a flash, I knocked all the guards out.
"Who are youuuuu!" Aleksei said, but I threw him up, landing him into the helicopter. I jumped up, and got into the helicopter, and said "Let's go."
Aleksei looked at the pilot and co pilot, and said "Natasha! Yelena! It's been so long, how red are your ledgers!?"
None of us responded to him, or even spared him a look, but Talia's and Yelena's hands tightened on their wheels.
"What's got your panties in such a twist?" Aleksei asked, literally wanting doom. "You on your periods, or something?"
"No, in case you forgot, we don't have that." Yelena said.
"Yeah, they ripped out our ovaries." Talia said.
"Then they sanitized it." Sabine said.
"Ok, ok, I get it!" Aleksei said. "No need to go all ballistic over nothing!"
"It's not nothing, Aleksei." I said. "Or did they cut your balls off, hence why you can say that?"
He put his hand on the table, then said "Arm wrestle me, you think you can beat me."
I sat down across him, and gave him my hand. We started, and I let him get the upper hand, making him struggle, but still winning. When my hand was half a centimeter from the table, I suddenly spun my hand, and smashed his hand onto the table, breaking his wrist and fingers. "I went easy." I said, getting up.
"Fuck!" He said in Russian. "That hurt!"
"I'd bet it did." I said. "Now, where does Melina live?"
Thirty-nine minutes later, we arrived at Melina's home, and parked the helicopter about a mile away. We started walking, and Aleksei was about to say something, but a couple of raised eyebrows stopped him. I took my suit off during the flight, no point of keeping it on for now.
After five minutes of silent jogging, we arrived at the house, and I saw Melina contact The Red Room with her tablet, then grab her shotgun, and come to see us.
She didn't look surprised when she saw us, and her heartbeat continued its rhythm. "Welcome to my home." She said, putting her shotgun down, and walking in. "C'mon in."
We followed, and Melina said "Sit down, I will bring some food for you."
We sat around the table, and after a minute, Melina came back with the food. "Eat, you aren't guests here, except for you two." She looked at me and Sabine. "I saw you, you were one of the Widows, and I'd suppose you, Peter, are Spider-Man. Perhaps SHIELD was right in thinking you were a target."
"Perhaps." I said. "But not for the right reason. What does The Red Room think of me?"
Melina sat down, and said "You're considered a possible threat, depending on whether you made a move, or not."
"Omission, is just as good as a lie." I said.
She nodded, and took some of her food, and said "So, why did you come to my humble abode?"
"We needed to know what the current state of The Red Room is." I said.
She took her tablet, and pressed a button, then a pig came into the room. "This," Melina said, "Is Aleksei."
"Aleksei?" Aleksei asked. "You named the pig after me?"
"Don't you see the family resemblance?" Melina said.
Aleksei sputtered, and we all ignored him, and Melina continued. "You see, Aleksei responds to my commands, I have made it such that we have such express control. Stop breathing." She said, and the pig stopped breathing.
After thirty seconds, Yelena said "That's enough! Let the poor thing breathe, you're hurting him!"
"He won't experience any major problems until he is not breathing for a minute." Melina said, as if it were obvious.
"That doesn't mean you have to give him that much pain!" Sabine said. "What did he do to you?"
Melina didn't look like she was going to let him go anytime soon, so I puffed the pheromone canceller in his face, and the pig started breathing again. "That wasn't supposed to happen." Melina said. "How did you make that?"
"I didn't just make it." I said. "I sprayed it in your daughter's face, and Sabine's."
Melina looked at Yelena, and said "What?"
Yelena clearly had enough, and she was raising her eyebrows very high at Melina. "Yes. You did just show the pig going through something that I've gone through! You made the thing, that controlled me!"
Yelena got up, and went to a room, and closed the door behind her. "I didn't know." Melina said softly.
"I'll go to her." Aleksei said, getting up, and going towards the room.
"Aleksei," I said "fuck things up, and you're in deep shit."
He didn't respond, but he nursed his hand, and entered the room, closing the door behind him.
Talia got up, and started looking around the house. She went towards the lab, and said "You called the Red Room yet?"
"She did." I said, getting up. Melina and Sabine got up, and followed me and Nat.
Nat nodded, tears forming in the corners of her eyes, and said "I wish I wasn't surprised."
Talia looked at a book, and grabbed it, and said "So you kept it, after all this time? You kept our picture book." She flipped through it, then when she got to a picture, she said "I remember this day. We knew all the giftboxes were empty, but we opened them all anyways."
Melina took the book, and looked at the picture, and said "You two were so happy."
"And who took their happiness away?" I asked. Melina didn't respond, so I said "Exactly."
"You have no place to say anything, Karma!" Melina said, looking at me. "You're not a part of the family!"
"I am." I said. "I'm the father of your future grandchild, that Talia's expecting right now! Aside from that, I am also the first child of a Widow, I'm the grandchild!"
Melina looked at me, then at Talia, then at me again, then looked back at Talia. "How? Graduated Widows can't have kids!"
"I undid the operation." I said. "You could be happy for your daughter, you know?"
Melina looked at Talia, then said "How did you keep your soul intact throughout the years?"
"Remember what you told me?" Talia said. "That pain makes you stronger? That's what kept me alive, for the longest time, but my soul was ripped into pieces. Then Peter came, and he patched it up."
Melina smiled sadly, then said "Peter's right, I called The Red Room, I'm sorry. They'll be here anytime now."
"Well then, it's a good thing you have me." I said.
Yelena sat down on the floor after slamming the door behind her, then two moments later, Aleksei came in.
"I don't need to hear your propaganda." Yelena said, not even looking at him.
"That friend of yours said that if I fucked things up, then I would be in deep shit." Aleksei said. "It's been a while since anyone said that to me, you know when someone last said that to me? It was when I was leading the platoon -"
"I don't need to hear your glorious stories!" Yelena said. "That's all you're about, your glorious days of fighting, and you being Captain America's counterpart! Well guess what! Peter defeated Captain America, and I don't care about your stories!"
Aleksei sat down, then after a minute, he started singing Yelena's favorite song from when she was a kid, and slowly, Yelena found herself singing with him. They finished the song, and Aleksei said "I never forgot about that, I even got a tattoo." He displayed his arm, which had a tattoo, that said Yelena and Natasha in Russian.
Yelena opened her mouth to say something, when all of a sudden, a large light was flashing at her through the window.
She put her hand in front of her eyes so as to see better, and Aleksei got up, and looked through the window. A tranq dart was shot at him, and he said "That's all you got?" Then he was shot with tranq darts, on every inch of his body, and he fell down.
Yelena ran out of the room, and said "Natasha! Peter! Sabine! Run, the Red Room is here!"
She turned a corner, and saw Melina with a tranq gun, and both Natasha and Sabine were laying on the floor, and Peter was nowhere to be seen.
"How could you do this?" Yelena asked. "Nat is pregnant! Where's Peter!?"
"Oh, he ran away, to his friends." Melina said, then shot a tranq dart at Yelena, and she fell down.
Aleksei woke up, in a plane, which Melina was flying, and there were agents all over the plane.
"Did you have a nice nap, Aleksei?" Melina asked. "We're getting close to the Red Room."
"Melina?" Aleksei asked. "Where are we?"
Melina said nothing, just pressed a button, and said in Russian "Jet 634 to base, we are requesting permission to land. Over."
"Base to Jet 634, you have permission to land in dock 6, Over." A voice said in Russian.
Melina acknowledged that, then she started angling the plane upwards.
"Melina," Aleksei said "you're going higher, not lower."
"That's because that's where The Red Room is." Melina said, then after a moment, a floating set of large buildings could be seen, clouded by red clouds. "He's seen enough."
An agent walked over to Aleksei, then injected him with something, and he got knocked out, and slumped into his chair.
Melina landed, then led several agents out of the jet, taking the sedated Sabine, Natasha, Aleksei, and Yelena. An agent came out, and said "Director Dreykov wishes for you to go to his office."
Melina acknowledged the message with a nod, and walked in, with the other agents following, until they were separated, Melina heading to the office, and the others heading to the cells, taking Yelena and Sabine in one direction, and the others in another.
When Melina passed a room where Widows were training, she barely spared them little more than a glance, continuing on.
She made it to the office, and knocked on the door, and a voice said from inside "Come in."
Melina entered, and saw Taskmaster standing in the corner, and Dreykov sitting in his desk. "You called, sir?" Melina asked.
"I did." He said "How was the reunion?"
"It was an extreme failure, sir." Melina said. "An absolute would never do again."
Dreykov chuckled, and said "I would think so. Where is Spider-Man?"
"Sir, he vanished." Melina said. "I never saw anything like that, he just disappeared, as if he was never there."
"So teleportation is real, then." He said. "He probably left to get reinforcements, that may be a problem. Were you able to procure his identity?"
"He took his mask off, sir, but I didn't know who he was, and his tech prevented me from searching for it."
"Is it so, Natasha?" Dreykov said "You're wondering how I know, aren't you? The eyes, they always reveal yourself."
Dreykov reached for the side of 'Melina's face' but Melina pushed his hand away, and he said "Don't fight me." He reached again, and pressed a button, and a mask came off, revealing the face of Natasha.
In the cells, the real Melina and Aleksei were sitting in cells, and then, 'Natasha' pressed some buttons, and the door of the cell opened, and her mask came off, revealing the face of Melina. She stopped at Aleksei's door, and opened it, then said "Lets go, we're running out of time."
"Wait, weren't you just Natasha?" He asked, getting out. "Nice."
In another place in the Red Room facility, Sabine and Yelena were strapped to tables, and then a voice came into their ears. "Sabine, Yelena, I've placed knives on your right legs, use those to get out."
"What the fuck?" Yelena said.
All the people in the room looked at her for a second, then Sabine sliced her straps off, and they focused on her, and then Yelena got out of her straps, then they took care of everyone in the room. "We're in the clear, now what?" Yelena asked.
"Now you follow me," Sabine said "we have to get the pheromone canceller, and spread it throughout the entire facility."
"Ok, and when is Peter coming with reinforcements?" Yelena said, following Sabine.
"That's the thing, he never left." Sabine said, taking a turn, and breaking a door open.
"You're enjoying this, right?" Yelena said. "Fine, I'll play your game, and wait for it."
"There's the spirit." Sabine said, then took the pheromone canceller. "Lets head to the vents."
Back with Dreykov
When the mask fell off, Taskmaster stepped forward, and Dreykov said "No, you can stay where you are, it's fine." Then he turned to Natasha. "You know who she is?"
"I do." Natasha said. "She's your daughter."
"So Spider-Man has really good intel." Dreykov said. "So, when can I expect him to save you?"
"You're supposing that I ever needed saving in the first place, and that I'm in danger." Natasha said. "Things are going perfectly."
He turned to Taskmaster, and said "Go! Take care of Melina, and the other two!"
She left, and Natasha said "You realize you just sent your only protection?"
"Oh, now, that's not true." Dreykov said "I know you can't bring yourself to kill me, as much as you want to."
Natasha pulled her gun out, but she couldn't pull the trigger. Then she pulled her knife out, and tried to stab him, but her hand stopped mid-swing, in air. "Why..can't.. I do...it?" Natasha said, struggling.
"See, there's this thing." Dreykov said, getting up, and slapping Natasha on the cheek. "I have pheromones surrounding me, so you can't do anything. It stops any female from attacking me."
He punched Natasha, and she staggered back, not being able to fight back. "Why?" Natasha asked.
"Why what?" He said, making her fall onto her back.
"Why are you praying on little girls?" Natasha said, while dodging all of Dreykov's attacks. "They have big brothers! They have fathers! They have mothers! They have big sisters! They have mothers! They have families! Does it give you some sort of sick satisfaction?"
He stopped attacking her, and went to his desk, and displayed a USB, then put it in his computer. It displayed a map of the world, and red dots all over, and on the top right corner, there were pictures of girls' faces flashing. Then it displayed pictures of bombs exploding, and fires, and tragedies in general. "This is why." Dreykov said "So that we can keep the world, the way we want it. With a finger's snap, I can destroy a country's stock market, or bring it up. This way, the world is kept in balance."
"That's so sick." Natasha said, getting up. "You're just like Fury, trying to control something that was never meant to be controlled. Minds, the world, people, countries, whatever. Like two peas in a pod."
All of a sudden, the room started flashing red lights, and Natasha said "Things are going perfectly."
Back with Melina, and Aleksei, couple minutes ago
Melina put her hand to her ear, then said "Sabine, Yelena, I've placed knives on your right legs, use those to get out."
"Wait, we have comm units?" Aleksei said. He put his hand to his ear, and said "Hey Natasha, I just wanted to say that I'm sorry -"
"You don't have a comm, because you didn't need one for the plan." Melina said, cutting him off.
"Oh man!" Aleksei said. "Where is Natasha, anyways? Is she okay?"
"She's safe, don't worry about her." Melina said. Then the door opened, to reveal Taskmaster.
"Oh, shit." Aleksei said. "You think we can take this thing down, Melina? It looks kind of strong. Melina?"
He looked next to him, around him, and saw no Melina. "Guess I'm doing this alone." He said, and rushed at Taskmaster.
Meanwhile, Melina had slinked away, and was making her way to the facility's control panels. She found her way there, and started prepping the facility for a landing, when she was locked out of the system. "Shit." She said in Russian, and jumped out of the room immediately, just managing not to get locked in the control room.
She headed to the one of the turbines, and was surrounded by agents, and she started fighting them, and one of them had a sharp chain, and tried to throw it at her and cut her, but she slid under it, and it instead cut the other agents assaulting her. She grabbed the agent with the chain, and knocked him out. Then she took the chain by its handle, and threw it at arod that was holding the turbine, and the chain swung around the rod, circling around it, and th other end came back to Melina, and she grabbed both ends, and pulled at it, thereby cutting the rod. Melina did that to three more of the pillars of the turbine, and the turbine fell off.
The place started blaring, and red lights were blinking, and Melina put her hand to her ear, and said "Yelena, I was locked out of the system, and a controlled landing wasn't possible, so I orchestrated a semi controlled landing."
"Copy that, how long do we have till this place crashes?" Yelena asked.
"Twenty minutes, but I'm working on making it faster, so there's no chance of fixing the problem." Melina said.
"Ok, but can you tell me when, or where, Peter is going to be? It doesn't make sense, why would he leave Nat like that?" Yelena asked.
"Natasha isn't even here, Yelena." Melina and Sabine said at the same time.
"What the fuck?" Yelena said.
Back with Dreykov
The room started flashing red lights, and Natasha said "Things are going perfectly."
"Really?" Dreykov challenged. "You're stuck in this room, and you can't defeat me, I have you under my control."
"You're supposing that there wasn't a guise under the guise." I said, and changed from Talia's form, to my normal body form, and with my suit on. "Thanks for making things easy for me." I grabbed the USB, and then the door opened, to show several Widows, about twenty of them.
"What can you do, if you can't even get out of here?" Dreykov said. "It was a nice move Karma, I didn't see it coming, but now, you're outnumbered by skilled fighters, not Doombots."
He headed for the door, and said "Take care of him. I don't want him getting out, and make him feel pain." Then he left.
One of them charged at me, and I puffed the pheromone canceller at her face, and didn't even look at her again, just flashing through all of them, spraying them. Once I finished, I put my hand to my ear, and created a comm, then said "Yelena, Sabine, are you two done with the dispersal?"
"How many masks are you wearing?" Yelena asked. "And yes, master planner, we did. It should spread across the facility in two seconds, we're heading out."
"Good." I said, then I looked at The Widows around me, looking at me, unsure. "Look, guys." I said to them. "I have a thing, called The Cradle, that can undo the surgeries they did to you. You can have a new chance at life. If you want that, follow me. And if you don't, then you're free to disappear, but my doors are always open, should you change your mind." I took my mask off. "I'm Peter Parker, and I'm trusting you guys with my family. My doors will always be open, and if I'm not there, someone there will help you."
I turned, and headed for the door, and all of them followed me, unsurprisingly. The whole place was covered with the red pheromone canceller, and the red lights made it even more red. We got out, and I saw Dreykov in a jet, that was flying away. He looked at me, and said "Too late!"
"That's what you think!" I said, then made a bazooka on my arm, and shot at the jet. It exploded in fire, but I pulled Dreykov with a web before it did, and handed him to the Widows, and said "He's all yours."
They started punching him, passing him along, then Melina, Aleksei, Yelena, and Sabine came out, and Sabine said "the facility is going to ashes anytime now!"
"Where's Taskmaster?" I asked Aleksei.
"She's stuck, in a cell." Aleksei said.
I made parachutes on everyone's suits, and said "Dreykov is going to get killed by Talia, I will send him there." I teleported Dreykov away, and said "Now, you guys jump off, I'm going back for Taskmaster."
"But isn't he bad, or something?" Sabine asked.
"She." I said "This ain't the real Taskmaster, this is someone else, under the control of the pheromones. She don't deserve to die, she needs another chance."
"Makes sense, Peter." Sabine said, then jumped off, the others following.
I teleported in front of Taskmaster's cell, and opened the door. Taskmaster immediately attacked me, and I dodged, then hit her mask in the right place, and it broke off. Then she inhaled all the pheromone canceller in the air, and I grabbed her, and teleported us, so we were flying downwards, along with the rest of the Widows. I made a web parachute, and attached it to Taskmaster, then dove downwards. I landed in the superhero landing with force, making a badass crater.
"Badass." Sabine commented on the comms.
"That's all I am." I said. "Badass, and hot as heat itself."
Everyone opened their parachutes, and once they slowed down enough, I made a portal under them, and they fell into the living room. I teleported there myself, and I said "Where's Talia?"
"She took Dreykov to the gym in the Masque's Home, and she's beating him to death." Whitney said. "Update, he's dead. She used her venom."
"She's one of a kind." I said, smirking.
A moment later, she came to the living room, and hugged Yelena, and said "You're fine, are you okay? Sorry I couldn't stay. Peter wasn't going to let me. I shouldn't have ever left you, are you ok?"
"Hey, I was mad at him, when I saw you on the floor, or who I thought was you." Yelena said "I couldn't believe it, that he just let you go down like that. Turns out, you were never there, he teleported you away a while ago. I'm fine, Talia."
"Don't call me that." Talia said, laughing lightly. Then they parted, and Talia hugged me, and kissed me. When we parted, she just looked at me, eyes shining, and she said "Thank you, so much."
"Anything for you." I said. "On a rate of one to ten, how happy are you? Don't answer the question, I will. I can feel your soul, it's at a hundred out of ten."
"It is?" She asked, and when I nodded, she said "Not gonna lie, I do feel like I'm at a hundred out of ten." She looked at the other Widows, and said "Welcome to the freakshow crew, publicly known as The Justice League."
They all looked unsure, and I said "Nothing to worry about, y'all. We're all crazy here. We got ex HYDRA assassins, we got ex SHIELD, we got SHIELD, it's been reformed, we got people that been alive for millennia, I'm one of those, we got Aquaman, we got weirdos, of every sort. You'll fit right in, don't worry."
They all relaxed very slightly, but they seemed relaxed already, it took experience to see the unease. Only one of them was still uneasy, and that was Taskmaster. I walked up to her, and said "I can fix your burns, would you like that?"
She nodded, and I put my hand to her, and undid the burns, making her look like a normal woman, not one that had been through a fire. I took her suit off with my magic, replacing it with normal clothes, and said "It's your choice, you want to be a normal nineteen year old girl, or you want to stay here. Either way, you have an identity created for you, it will change for what you choose."
"I can't ever run away from my past." She said. "What if I don't? I think I'll stay here, or continue using my skills somewhere. I still have photographic memory."
"Well then, what are we naming you?" I asked "Moniker wise, and what's your name?"
"My name is Antonia." She said. "And I have to properly live some of my life to decide my moniker, I was only ever controlled."
"It's always going to be your call, Antonia." I said "You can go in and out, you're free here."
"Thank you." She said truthfully, and I nodded.
"It's not a problem, this is what I'm supposed to do." I said. "But honestly, if you want to have fun, go fight Masters, that'll be a true blast. I can show you some moves beforehand, that he doesn't have. Don't use them too much though, he will learn them."
"That would be...interesting." She said. "Two people with photographic memory, fighting each other."
"It would be a blast for you, trust me." I said, then turned to face the whole group. "Now, let's get this party rolling!"
I made confetti fall from the ceiling, and started playing some background music, and set some snacks on the tables all over the room, and we started partying, letting the serious mood fall away.
After a couple of minutes, Sabine leaned into my ear, and said "This place is a vibe for real, can I never leave?"
"Girl, it's all your choice." I said "This is our party house more than anything, and it's awesome. I make this house bigger all the time, and we have solar systems connected to the house, and a humongous ship above us, this place is OP."
"I'm staying." She said. "This is just, a vibe. Like, I could do this for a long time, and never get bored, that's how good I feel. And solar systems? You're cool, Peter." She punched my shoulder, and then went somewhere in the party.
I laughed, then searched through the crowd, and found Rachel. She didn't see me, so I said "Jellybean!"
She turned, and saw me, then ran into my arms, and said "Uncle Peter! How many people are here?"
"More than a hundred, Jellybean. You enjoying it? Or you think it's a little crowded?"
"It's awesome!" She said. "There are so many people! I was playing with Sexi and Tarts! Then I went, and met that girl, her name was Sabine! She was real nice! Then I talked to her, and she said that she wanted to stay, but she thought that you wouldn't like that! I told her that you wouldn't mind at all, and that you would love it! I told her to talk to you, then I went back to Mom! And she was happy! Like really happy! And I asked her why she was so happy, and she didn't tell me, but my powers showed mea possibility of her saying that she finally found a family, and that maybe we were super huge, and maybe we didn't talk to everyone in one day, but we were still a super big family! Then I was looking for Sabine, because I thought that she would be done talking to you! Then I found her, and she said that she didn't talk to you yet. I told her to talk to you, and Aunt May was right there, and she agreed with me! Then I went back into the crowd, then you called me!"
"You're really bouncing around, Jellybean, aren't you?" I said, laughing. "Sabine talked to me, she's staying. You cool with that?"
"Of course!" She said. "I'm going to go, and get her a room!" She jumped out of my arms, and got lost in the crowd.
Wanda came to me, and said "Crazy party, huh? I like it, but how is everyone fitting here?"
"I cleared that up with Aunt May weeks ago, before you came." I said "This house has magic, that makes it seem larger than it is. It's an edited version of a pocket dimension, it kinda is, but it isn't, at the same time."
Wanda kissed my cheek, and said "You're one of a kind, Petr. Even Pietro can't say anything against you. He tried, to find a reason to hate you, and he couldn't."
"That sounds like something him, Matchstick, and Buckethead would do." I said, laughing "Was it all three of them, or was I right?"
"I thought you had what you called singularity humility, or something?" Maria said, coming up to us.
"I do." I said. "I'm using it right now, spending time with mortals, and entertaining them."
"That sounds more like the arrogance of a Celestial, wouldn't you say so, Wanda?" Maria said.
"I think it's more like the arrogance of a puny little human like Fury." Wanda said "Thinks he's too good for the world."
I smirked. "It's not like the world has anything to give me, right? It's just filled with arrogant people, I have no need to soil myself with that stuff."
"I think the world has a lot to give you." Wanda said. "Like, there's friends, frienemies, enemies, girls, etc."
"I don't know what I should say to that." I said, finally giving up on continuing our...thing. "Should I focus on which part?"
We all started laughing, and Wanda said "I think the point was for you to try to say that you don't need mortal women, or something."
"Really Red?" I asked. "I'm not about to say that, that's one of the things I will never say, even as a joke."
"Cuz it's always about the girls with him and his brother." Cindy said, coming up to us. "I was looking for you, it took me a minute."
"I think that's because we have like a hundred people here." I said. "Things aren't as easily found compared to when you have twenty people."
"Really, I didn't know that!" Cindy said sarcastically.
"I'm not surprised." I said. "But seriously, you need something?"
"Nah, I just wanted to see, what you were doing." Cindy said. "What's the move?"
"Party?" I saidasked. "How long do we have till school? We can just party till then."
"It's Friday night, Petr." Wanda said. "I don't know, but I think we need to find a way to drill the days into you."
"What's the date?" I asked. "It's like, February 20th, or something like that, right?"
"It's March 19th, Peter." Maria said. "How, are you that behind?"
"Because my time schedules don't involve dates, or days." I said. "I used to be homeschooled, and so, there wasn't a true marker to tell me what day it was, neither was there a reason for me to keep track. Eventually, my time schedule only ever involved days, if anything."
"Weird, but I can totally see that happening." Cindy said. "You never told me about this."
"You never asked." I said.
"That's true." She said.
"Ok, anyways." I said. "I've got to find Tarts and Sexi, then I will be an awesome host, and we'll have fun, hopefully."
"This isn't fun?" Maria asked.
"It is." I said. "We're just going to put it up one notch."
I went through the crowd, until I found Sexi and Tarts. "Hey guys!" I said.
"Hey Dad!" They both said, getting up from where they were sitting.
"What're y'all doing?" I asked.
"We were trying to see who could sit for longer at once." Sexi said.
"Ok, now, you guys want to make the party a little more exciting?" I asked.
They looked at each other, then looked at me, and said "We're in all right."
"That's the spirit." I said, smirking.
Five minutes later, we were ready, I made a planet, and everything was ready. I stepped into the crowd, and lifted my paintball pistol, and shot in the air. Everyone paused what they were doing to look at me, and I said "Who's up for paintball!? I made a planet in the main solar system that's filled with paintball equipment, and it's a paintball field too! Filled with abandoned cars, ships, and it has treehouses, and everything!"
"You guys can do it, but I'm too old, sorry." Aunt May said.
"I'm down!" Basically everyone else said.
I made a portal, and said "C'mon, y'all! To glorious war! There are three teams, Team Spidey, Team Cherry Face, and Team Karen! You also have suits that conform to your team. Enter through the portal, and you'll be given your previously chosen team, I did my best to make it fair. Go through, and wait to be told the rules!"
Everyone who wanted to play went through, and the only spectators were Uncle Ben, Aunt May, and Uncle Al, Aunt Nari was playing. I went through the portal, and saw that everyone grouped with their teammates.
Team Spidey was black, with red, and in the center of the suits, there was a rendering of my mask. Their masks were like the Agents' masks, with the goggles.
Team Cherry Face was led by Tartarus, and they were black, with gray, and in the center of their suits, was a dark red cherry with a face.
Team Karen was led by Sexi, and they were black, with blurple, and in the center of their suits, was a Spider-Man mask, that had blurple lenses, and black for the rest, with white webs centered on the lenses.
"Ok guys!" I said, calling everyone's attention. "Rules! Rule one, any magical powers you have, you can't use! Wanda, no using your Hex Magic. Johnny, no going on fire. Sue and Miles, no going invisible. Basically, anyone that has more than physical powers, can't use them. You can only use physical powers. Rule two, any spider totems cannot use their webs to do more than swinging. You cannot use webs to hold someone down, or anything other than swinging, that's against the rules. Rule three, friendly fire doesn't count, sorry. Rule four, one shot, and you're out. Now, for the loadout. I made it so that the guns can never run out, you're welcome. I've also made you guys some paint grenades, in your belt, they don't run out either, nothing does. And I know us assassin types love our knives, so we got that too. We also got bazookas, you just have to give the suit the command, through your vambrace. Any type of gun, is accessible. Your vambraces also say who's out, and who's not, and who's on your team, and who isn't, as well as a battlefield map, that is joint between each team, each team has one map, that they can mark, to give messages. You also have comms for each team, that are against the rules to hack, not that you can. All clear?"
No one said anything, so I said "Good. Now, for the world. We're in a planet, the size is small, it's more like a really small moon, it's even orbiting another planet. Team Spidey will start in a pirate ship on the coast, and Team Karen will start in a treehouse in the jungle, and Team Cherry Face will start in a cave. I will teleport you all to your bases in three, two, one!"
I and my team landed in the ship, and I smiled, this was going to be epic.
