Lily sat in the living room, humming a melody gently to the children in her lap whist rocking gently back and forth. It was only a few albeit long days past their first birthdays, and they had to be locked in here for safety, she felt awful for them. What was to be her children's future?
Suddenly, there was a loud knock on the door, she recited the sayings that she was told to ask from Dumbledore for when there was noises such as knocking or doorbells:
"What was my best subject in Hogwarts?"
The man at the door had a look of thought for a moment and then quickly responded, "Potions."
Lily then added on, as she was instructed to do, "What year did we start dating, James."
The man grinned contently for a second and then replied, "In 1977." Lily fondly smiled as if remembering something and allowed him in with a swift unlocking of the door.
"I don't understand why I can't unlock the door myself, love." The woman gave her husband a sharp look and countered,
"The door can only be unlocked from the inside, from all I know. And we have a secret-keeper, we'll be fine James." James strided across the wooden floors towards the leather couch, where the two twin babies were located. Lily fell onto the couch gracefully and picked the female of the twins, Ashlyn and hugged her in her arms softly while rocking her arms back and forth. James scooped up the male twin, Harry and bounced him a few times in his arms before resting him upon his toy broom, which hovered slightly above the ground. As the father loved Quidditch and wanted to share the wonder of flying with brooms with his son so he could play the game aswell.
"I cooked some dinner for us, and I have some meals for the twins aswell. But for now, it will only be done in about twenty or so, let's just relax for now." Lily said contently as she read a book to her child lovingly.
The man smirked with his evil red eyes, they rest upon the hooded crowd of Death Eaters around him, a simpering smile formed across his handsome face.
"Today we shall praise Pettigrew, our spy for locating the spot where the Potter Manor is." Voldemort spit out the name of 'Potter' with an awful scowl, before returning to his ensnaring look of corrupted joy.
The whole number of followers bursted into cheers, with no sympathy towards the family, which would soon be ruined.
"When are they going to be sought out, I mean, the boy?" One of the more loyal Death Eaters sneered out.
"Soon, you will know once they are."
. . .
A slight creak was heard from the gate as a black-robed person slid like a snake through the fences and down the cobblestone path, click-clacks could be heard as the loose stones were carelessly stepped on. There were lovely lavenders and roses surrounding the garden, leaving an area of a small pond and small plains-area, the rest of the garden was filled with vegetable patches, fruit trees, and rows of sunflowers. Though at the dead of night, not much could be seen, but you could see the bright fireflies zipping around the skies, lighting them up like fireworks; temporary.
At that moment the person in question silenced the door with a Silencio, leaving no noise once the door was unlocked by a powerful unlocking spell the man was taught by the Dark Lord himself.
The man sheepishly silenced the noise of his feet aswell as he made his way up the stairs with no fear of being caught.
At that point Lily was in bed, she had just put the Harry in his crib, and put Ashlyn in the other, but little did she know, Ashlyn was climbing over the crib fencing and stumbling toward the closed door of the nursery, when it suddenly was spelled open, trapping the little girl behind the door and wall, she heard a faint wording and a blasting of green light filled her eyes, and then it was only Harry and Ashlyn in the room again. The baby took a moment to regain her balance, slithered through the opening gap of the wall and door, and waddled down the stairs, she had just made it out the front door once the concerned parents awoke from their stunning spell, and witnessed only Harry in the cribs, with a peculiar lightning bolt on his forehead.
Lily rushed towards her baby, blinking away tears, picking him up and pulling him into a bear hug. When suddenly, a moment of realization came,
"Honey, where is Ashlyn...?"
Hopefully you enjoyed this first chapter, took a while. Sorry for any mistakes, I am learning how to be better at writing.
