White rabbit
Current age of Izuku midoriya is 5 years old.
They just finished climbing up a long stairway up the hill to the shrine. The only one that was out of breath was Izuku.
Izuku Midoriya was being dragged along by Bakugou and his goons. Bakugou and his goons would usually just beat up Midoriya and leave him but they got fed up with him. Mainly because he would always interfere when they were attacking other kids so they decided to take him to a shrine with a ghost in it. They heard from one of the older kids that there was a ghost inside, so They thought it would be fun to put him inside to see how long he lasts before he starts crying like a little baby. They just told him that if he goes inside they'll be friends again even though Bakugou had no intention of letting him back in the group.
"Come on, go inside." Bakugou says.
Izuku turns to his former friend before looking back at the shrine seeing how old it is. It looks like nobody has even been maintaining it at all. The tiling on the roof is falling off the walls and needs to be repainted. The wood seems very old and decrepit. It definitely looks abandoned.
After taking another look he really didn't want to go inside so he started to shake his head.
"Come on Deku if you want us to be friends again you got to go inside. I understand that you're scared and all but would All-Might. I'm honestly giving you the best opportunity right now to join me and my friends again because we can't accept a cripple without any guts." Bakugou says.
Izuku stared at his former friend. He genuinely believes every word Bakugou said even though it was all a lie. He didn't know if he believed him just because he wanted the pain to stop and this was his only hope. He also had another thought that Bakugou was just trying to mess with him, he pushed that thought to the back of his mind, believing in his friend. He nodded his head and started making his way up to the shrine.
When he got to the front of the shrine he slowly started walking towards the door. As soon as he made it to the door and tried to pull it open because it was one of those sliding doors. He could feel the old wood wasn't as decrepit as he thought it would be to his surprise, it was actually still decently strong. He eventually was able to pull the door open slightly enough so he could crawl inside. Before doing so he turned to his friends and smiled at Bakugou even though his legs were shaking. His only thought was if he did this, he would be friends again, that's the only thing that kept him going.
He wanted to be friends, he wanted the pain to stop, it's all he wanted. He took a deep breath and exhaled before he started crawling inside. As soon as he made it inside he noticed that it wasn't that abandoned. yes the outside looks terrible but for the inside it was actually quite clean. Which made him worried that he was trespassing on somebody's property. so he decided to head back immediately and inform the others. But as soon as he thought that the door shut behind him. He jumped back from the door and yelped in surprise.
"No no no no no no no no no." Izuku says while pulling on the door.
He tried using all of his upper body strength to pull the door open but it was useless. He could hear snickering from the other side of the door. He could feel water running down his face and started pulling harder.
"Deku, did you seriously think I would let you back in my group? You are quite pathetic if you think I would let a cripple like you be my friend. Honestly, even other crippled quirkless people aren't as useless as you." Bakugou says while laughing hysterically.
After hearing those words Izuku put his back to the door and kneeled down putting his legs to his chest and started weeping quietly.
Bakugou and his goons were waiting outside for 10 minutes laughing, making jokes and insulting him. Every time they started making jokes at Izuku's expense they could hear him weep.
"Okay that was funny but now it's starting to get a little bit boring. Let's take him outside and beat him up to make sure he knows his place, come on now. Oh I got an idea let's see which would be faster going down the shrines stairs. Deku or some rocks." He says with a sadistic grin on his face.
Bakugou removes the stick that they used to block Deku inside right before his hand reaches the door. He felt a killing intent directed towards him like it was a wild animal or something that was a warning him to leave. He quickly pulled his hand away and the killing Aura left with it. He shook his head thinking he just imagined it and started reaching his hand out again but it happened just as before the killing intent directed towards him appeared once again. But this time he ignored it thinking that All-Might wouldn't be scared. The second his finger touched the door he was launched back 10 ft into the air holding his stomach in pain before his body slammed into the ground. He started riving in pain holding his stomach before he couldn't hold it anymore and puked up his breakfast. His two Goons got to his side immediately after they both turned their backs to him looking out for what attacked their friend.
"Did you guys see anything?" Bakugou says while clenching his stomach.
After about 30 seconds of holding his stomach in pain he was eventually able to stand up but his goons didn't respond. Which caused him to look at them, noticing that their whole body's were shaking.
"You guys are useless as always. I'll take care of this then. Hey you just attacked the next number one hero, come out and face me you coward." He says with all the bravado he could muster.
But after a minute of waiting nobody came out or responded. He was about to take a step closer to the shrine again but immediately felt the killing aura. He ignored it again and took another step immediately he felt a sharp pain across his chest. He grabbed onto his chest feeling his shirt to be slightly wet with a red liquid. He pulled up his shirt and noticed 3 red lines across his chest. What really freaked him out was his shirt did not have a scratch on it like if the attack phased through his clothes and hit him.
He immediately started causing small explosions in his hand and got in his battle stance. The second they all appeared on the bottom of the stairs of the shrine. All three of them looked around confused and how they got here like they were teleported. Bakugou and his goons mediately started climbing up the stairs going back up to fight whatever that thing was but the second he took that first step he immediately felt a blow to his stomach. Launching him again into the air before another force slammed him down to the ground. At this point Bakugou was unconscious. The two goons were shocked beyond how he was defeated so easily. When they looked at the shrine they noticed a man standing on top of the stairs staring down at them pointing at both of them. They both started thinking that it was the ghost at the same time. The kid with the wings grabbed Bakugou and started flying as fast as he could. While they long-fingered goon started running with them behind.
Inside of the shrine, Izuku was still holding on to himself and crying. But for some reason after a few seconds all of his pain was gone. It felt like he was able to relax for some reason. He turned his head up noticing a man sitting there in front of him drinking some tea by a small table. For some reason he didn't feel scared of the man, It was like there was a calming aura field around this man.
The man had long white hair that reached up to his shoulders and covered his eyes. He was definitely wearing a martial arts uniform. The outfit was basically all white even the belt around his waist was white.
"Come and have a drink with me, kid." The man says in a gentle tone.
Izuku, seeing this, stood up and walked to the table sitting down on one of the mats he had laid out for him. He grabbed the cup of tea and started drinking it. It was really bitter and wasn't that Pleasant to drink but for some reason he wanted to show respect so he chugged it all down.
The man had a giant smile on his face before chugging all of his drink as well. "I can't believe a kid like you can drink Sake like that. Damn kid you got some balls on you come on let's keep drinking until one of us passes out." He says getting excited.
Izuku, staring at the man, noticed his vision starting to blur before his body started feeling all loopy. The only thing he could see was the tea cup being refilled. He didn't want to be rude so he grabbed the tea cup and started chugging it. This time it started tasting a lot better, still bitter but not as much. Halfway through drinking it he immediately passed out before any of the liquor could spill. The teacup disappeared from his hand and reappeared on the table.
The man seeing Izuku sprawled out on the ground with a drunken blush on his face made him smile. "It's amazing I have never seen a 5 year old become an alcoholic so quickly. Well at least I got a drinking buddy now. I hope he doesn't die. Nevermind he'll be fine." The man says to himself.
After about a few hours he woke up on the floor with a massive headache. He looked around and he noticed he was outside laying down on a mat. He slowly started getting onto his feet while his head was pounding him with pain. He felt a strong blast of wind knocking him over onto the ground. After being knocked down to the ground he slowly turns his head to face who was causing the massive air pressure. His eyes went wide after seeing the monk throw a punch that caused the air around it to ripple. But the punches weren't even directed towards Izuku, it was the Aftershock of the punch which was hitting him. The man was throwing punches away from Izuku at a forest path that was most likely created by his attacks. Seeing all the trees around that area bent over.
Before he could even say anything the man appeared right in front of him crouching down making sure he was at Izuku's eye level. He immediately jumped back scared but then the aura wrapped around him again and he was calm.
"So let's introduce ourselves before getting drunk again. My name is Gin. Now what's yours." Gin says with a pleasant smile.
Izuku quickly stood up straight before bowing. "NicetomeetyoumynameisIzukuMidoriya."He shouts quickly.
Seeing this Gin grabbed Izuku by the head and turned his head up so they would be looking at each other. "Look you're my drinking buddy now you don't have to be nervous. Oh and don't worry about those bullies I kicked the shit out of that one explosive asshole, now forget about him and let's drink. You lost in the first round but I mean I have hope for you for the second round." He says while pulling a bottle of sake out of thin air.
"Oh hey I'm not old enough to drink and my head still hurts." Izuku says sheepishly
Gin puts his hand on Izuku's head. Izuku's headache immediately stopped, his eyes went wide looking at Gin and wondering what quirk did he have.
"Um Gin, right? What's your quirk because I thought it would be super strength not healing." He says excited, wanting to know what quirk this strange man had.
The man raised an eyebrow after hearing his question and started rubbing his chin. "What the hell is a quirk? Oh wait it's one of those power things right, I don't have one of those but I use Ki. If that's what you're wondering how I can do all this. Now come on, let's drink." Gin says casually. He proceeds to put a cup of sake into Izuku's hand.
He looks at the cup seeing the sake inside before turning his head up to see the stranger already start to drink. He doesn't want to be rude so he just takes a sip. He makes an unpleasant facial expression after tasting the bitter sake.
Seeing this Gin smiled. "Holy crap you are an alcoholic, that's nice. I finally have a drinking buddy. You're a little bit too young but you know whatever." He says while taking a swig of his sake.
Izuku shakes his head rapidly. "This is my first time drinking and also what is Ki?'' He says while getting nervous.
Gin looks down at the kid. "Well I guess I can explain it to you. Ki It is basically life force energy that is all around us from trees, Air, water and you know yada yada yada. Basically a bunch of just whatever blah blah blah. I'm not really good at explaining things. Uh crap, just give me a second to think of how to explain this." He says while thinking of a coherent way to explain it to the boy. He scrunches up his face causing it to turn red.
Izuku stares at the man wondering if he could even use Ki. He knows the man is weird but if he could help him become a hero he wouldn't mind hanging out with him. He definitely thinks that he should stop drinking but that's what the cost is to become a hero. He would put up with it, he thinks to himself.
"Oh yeah I got that idea now sorry for the wait drinking buddy, now stand still." He says while putting his hand on top of Izuku's head.
Izuku feels a sudden warm energy in the center of his chest the size of a golf ball. He also notices he could feel similar energy around him like if he was in water. He tried moving his hands there was no resistance but it felt like whatever was around him was thick and powerful.
Gin had a big giant grin on his face. "Sweet you didn't die from that well you're a ki user now. If you want I can have you become my apprentice but on the stipulation you become my drinking buddy and best friend." He says with a genuine smile on his face.
Izuku jumps up with excitement but then he realizes what he said. "Wait, I could have died. What would have happened if I died, what would you have done?" He asks with a lot of concern.
"Oh I can answer that. Have you ever heard of a shovel and a hole?" Gin says casually.
He immediately starts shaking with fear after hearing those words come out of Gin's mouth. He looks at the man wondering what kind of person would do this to a kid that he just met. He looks around the shrine noticing that there is nobody else or at least that he's seen. He thinks the man is just alone just like him. He makes eye contact with the man and stares at him and he doesn't get any evil intentions out of him. He thinks about his past experience this year, how everybody's been treating him, his mom thinks he's a crippled and his friends abandoned him.
He takes a deep breath before speaking. "Let me tell you what I want. I always wanted to become a hero. Even though I'm weak, I still want to try and with your help I can definitely at least make it into a hero school. So I will do my best sensei Gin, I guess slash best friend." He says nervously but with a slight hint of determination behind his voice.
Gin had the biggest ear-to-ear grin on his face after hearing what the curly-haired green boy just said. He put his hand under his chin for a few seconds before giving the kid a response. "You still have school so after that you can head to my place for training. Bring some notebooks and some papers so I can write down notes for you for homework to practice at home. By the way, it's not going to be easy to master the techniques I'll be teaching. Now tell me what kind of fighting style you would like to master." He says with a confident smile.
Izuku ponder's for a few seconds but then immediately has a giant smile on his face. "I want to be like All-Might super strong."He says while flexing his muscles and smiling.
Gin tilts his head in confusion." I've never heard of that man or that fighting style. I'm assuming you want to be super strong." Gin says
Izuku's face is in complete shock. "What? But he's the greatest hero of all time. No way you must have heard of him right." He says with a shocked expression on his face.
Gin lets out a sigh. "Honestly no I haven't broccoli boy but this isn't about him it's about your fighting style. I know one that's pretty similar to his. I'm assuming you want to be strong and durable but you don't have the body for it." Gin says while still thinking.
Izuku starts thinking about what he just said that it isn't All-Might's fighting style, it should be his. He slowly started muttering to himself 1000 words a minute.
Gin stops his train of thought after hearing the muttering coming from Izuku. After seeing this he bonks his student on the head stopping him from muttering. "I understand there's going to be a lot of options for you and you want to choose the right one but you can learn multiple styles. So you don't have to worry about which one you start off with cuz you could always switch. He says calmly trying to ensure his student that there's no wrong choice.
Izuku just nods his head after hearing what sensei had to say. He looks up at his sensei. "So how do I choose a fighting style and I also don't know what they can do". He says nervous, still having a bit of doubt of making the right choice.
Seeing uncertainty on his new students' face, Gin just had the perfect idea on how to have his student choose which fighting style he preferred. "I'll demonstrate each fighting style that you will be able to learn, before any of the advanced ones and then you choose from those." He says in an excited tone.
Izuku nods his head but immediately right after Gin disappears and reappears 20 feet away from him from where he was practicing. Gin got in a battle stance, he made his hands look like claws. He swipes the air so fast that airblades appear out of his fingertips causing ripples in the air. Then he proceeded to throw a punch that produced an Airstream. Then he jumped up and proceeded to bounce off the air multiple times and finished it off with landing on his feet.
Izuku was amazed by all the techniques he just saw. He wanted to run up and talked to Gin about what he just saw. He noticed that he was getting ready for the other demonstrations so he stopped instead, holding his excitement inside.
Gin had his hands to his side. He started moving towards a rock very slowly compared to his usual speed. He hopped off the ground and then head-butted the stone splitting it into. Then he raised up his foot and slammed it into the ground, causing him to leap up into the air. He rotated himself in the air and got his fist ready to attack the ground. After gravity started taking his body to the ground he patiently waited until the right moment. Then he slammed his fist into the ground causing it to shatter and crack.
The broccoli boy was amazed by the power that the man just displayed. He thought about the way that he was moving so slow compared to his other fighting style. He started thinking about it like a game, each fighting style had a drawback. The first it was fast, quick and mobile but maybe it was something that he didn't display.
Gin got in another stance. His hand burst into white flames then he proceeded to throw a punch causing the flame to extend out into a fist shape. After doing so he proceeded to throw a powerful kick shooting out a blade and fire. The fire from his hands started wrapping around his body providing him with a tail and wings. The tail hit the ground, launching him up in the air and using the wings to start flying around and throwing punches and kicks shooting outbursts of fire. He turned off the flames and caused himself to fall to the ground but right before he hit the ground he let out a big breath shooting out a stream of fire slowing his descent.
Izuku was completely starstruck after seeing the fire fighting style. He always wanted to shoot fire out of his mouth like his dad. He thought about flying through the sky beating up villains. his mind started playing scenarios of him flying through the sky punching villains with the second fighting style. Bouncing off the air to confuse the villains before giving them a powerful kick to the face.
Before he could even continue being in his little fancy Gin Reappeared in front of him. "So which fighting style do you want? Each of them have different weaknesses and different strengths but it's up to you to make the decision so choose broccoli boy." He says with excitement.
Izuku starts to think about what he saw and what choice he should make. He looks at all the techniques and sees how beneficial each and every one of them could be used in hero work. for the second style anything that needed a powerhouse that would be useful like if he needed to punch through a wall or make a path for people. The first style was completely all about speed and power, showing off the many ways he could move in attack and even change direction very quickly which is very important with fighting villains with extremely dangerous quirks. The third style had a lot of range options but it didn't seem to have any close quarter options also he was much slower moving in the air then the first fighting style. His head started hurting thinking about all the options, all the possibilities that he could do with each and every fighting style. But then a thought came to his head and he had a giant grin on his face.
He looked his sensei in the eyes with a determined expression on his face. "All." He says with the termination behind his word.
Gin started to chuckle uncontrollably. "That is the craziest answer I've ever heard. I've never heard a single person tell me that they want it all. They're just the three basics I can teach you. There's thousands or even millions of techniques out there in the world that I know. What about them?" He asks, waiting for his response with excitement.
His student just stared at him with a giant grin on his face. "Of course I would like to have all those as well. I want you to teach me everything you know, every technique, every fighting style, every way to breathe. I want it all. I want to be the world's greatest hero so I can protect people just like All-Might." He says while squeezing his little fist and staring at his sensei.
Gin's spine starts to tingle and his hair starts to rise up with excitement. "I never thought my drinking buddy / best friend would be so ballsy, I like that I don't want to train weaklings who can't back up their words with action. Well, today I want you to go home and practice with the Ki that you have in your body, practice on gathering more of it around your surroundings." He says while rubbing his chin in deep thought.
Izuku made a face of protest but before he could even speak any further Gin put out his hand to stop him. He stares at his Sensei confused on why he won't teach him the techniques.
He smiles at his student, seeing the eagerness for him to learn. "Boy, you want me to teach you all the techniques at once before you even learn how to even use an ounce of ki. That is just not possible at your current skill level to teach you any of the techniques I showed you. I'll show you the technique on gathering more ki and holding it in your body then, I want you to go home and practice that. Then come back to me tomorrow and I'll teach you the forms of martial arts needed for these techniques and then after increasing both of your martial arts level and ki level would you be able to use these techniques to their fullest potential." He rambles on about with excitement not noticing he's started to monologue.
Izuku Smiles seeing his sensei go on a long rant with excitement in his voice. It just shows him that he's definitely serious about teaching him. Before he knows it he feels a hand placed on his head and then it's almost like he had a third site. He was able to see life form every object around him and see how it gathered into his body. As quick as he had that feeling it immediately dissipated after the hand was lifted. He started thinking about that feeling and trying to replicate it but it was extremely difficult to do so. It was like reaching out with a third arm that you didn't have.
Gin stood in front of him with a powerful stance. "I said what I needed to say. Now go kid and practice everything I just taught you and by tomorrow I'll have a training regimen for you. It's not going to be easy. I'm going to put you through hell,by the end of it you're going to be a monster that nobody could mess with ever again." He says while, cackling to himself evilly.
Seeing this he didn't know if he made a monster out of his sensei or was he just crazy to begin with he went with the ladder. Then he started running back towards his apartment so he could start practicing.
His sensei stared at the kid seeing him scurry off with a newfound determination. He smiled seeing, that especially since the first time he was able to sense the boy's mood, he was going down a dark path of despair and loneliness. Now the boy was completely and utterly changed. He didn't have that cloud over his head anymore but a shiny bright sun to brighten his mood. He went back to the shrine and started gathering books, paper and ink to write down his plans for the boy's future.
Izuku soon made it home and started practicing the gathering of ki. He even started trying to imitate a little bit of Gin's martial arts. He couldn't even sleep. He was so excited for the next day.
