Arc I : Ô Prometheus !
Chapitre V : Adieu Prometheus !
It seemed that an ambush will soon envelop these lands. Eh. Eheh. That sure was quite a interesting development. Indeed more so since there were multiple monsters on the way down here. Though it wasn't one that I was unfamiliar with after all of my previous encounters. But what made this a little bit more special was that they successfully trumped my [Magic Sense]... Which was of course a great feat in itself. But in turn, it meant that I got very careless over these past days for them to be able to deceive me in that way... I should really pull myself together, huh?
However, this unexpected development wasn't all bad as in a way, it arranged me. Why? I hadn't been graced with action for the past eighty days... And as of now, I certainly was craving a little bit of it! And naturally a little action would off course do some good to my rusted self. And it would let me test new methods to eliminate a living being. And after all, I loved to clean these petty creatures from the face of the world.
And it looked Rimuru like didn't detect them yet as of now. Concerning the monsters, maybe they learned their lessons from that time? Ohoh. It was quite unexpected... But I indeed was very excited for the forthcoming confrontation. Moreover, all of this will provide a worthwhile and interesting combat experience for Rimuru. Because he indeed had no prior experience... And that was admittedly bad for what will become the powerhouse of the Cardinal World, no, the entire universe to truly be precise. Indeed, if someone with malevolent intentions was to kill him early on when he was nothing but a weak little slime, it would certainly throw my entire plans into a complete disarray. Which wasn't of course something I wanted.
But the situation was certainly less than ideal if I had to be honest as we were too restrained in our possibilities of actions. Sure, I certainly was all-smiles as I quite liked combat but... The terrain we were standing upon was less than advantageous for our side. After all, it was an open terrain with vastly undefended flanks and it was one coupled with a large aerial space. This meant that a full-blown encirclement was certain to come and one where the enemy would have air superiority which bring them close air support. And that was pretty bad...
Even so, I still had the choice to relocate to a more strategic and advantageous location but... It wouldn't do as it would mean that I wouldn't gain any experience in dealing with unexpected situations which meant that if the unexpected ever arise in Tempest or anywhere else in this world, I would be incapable in dealing with it. And I truly wanted to become a good commander for my sake and the sake of my ambitions. Although, a good commander would never risk his men's lives and would indeed retreat. In this case, he would try to first break the coming encirclement by all means possible to then retreat and potentially rally with other units. But nevertheless, I argued that a good commander also had to deal with unexpected situations all the time, so it truly was an ideal exercise! In my case let's say that I was too late to break the coming encirclement and that I indeed had no more choice but to fight for my life in this encirclement. Yeah, that was a good scenario. Furthermore, it wasn't like I could really retreat since the enemies had already our escape routes blocked. They truly upped their games, huh? More so than the last time I fought them. Maybe I shouldn't have messed so much with them before... Ah. What was done was done.
'An ambush is coming.' I calmly informed Rimuru.
'Heh!? Wh- What are you talking about?!' was his surprised and shocked expression. It was to be expected. After all, he never experienced combat in this world. That was a normal reaction learning that you were going to be ambushed by enemies' forces. What wasn't normal was my very own reaction but I was already experienced with 'ambushes', so it was pretty alright.
And it looked like their formations wasn't as organised as I thought. They still heavily relied on their own race to form their units, huh? And it seemed that inter-cooperation was neither that good. Which meant that their units weren't mixed and that they wouldn't be as efficient as they potentially could be. What a bunch of incompetent monsters... Well, they were monsters without true intelligence...
'Do not worry Rimuru. For I have a plan.' I smiled.
Finally, the enemy attack came. The Black Spiders were at the forefront of the fight. And thus, they used the Skill [Sticky Thread] trying to trap us. Then, the Evil Centipedes came down at us with their [Paralysing Breath]. Furthermore, the Giant Bats aimed at us with their petty [Ultrasound Waves]. Their goals couldn't have been more obvious than that, huh? Maybe I just overestimated them too much. Ah. Whatever.
'Rimuru, you know what to do.' And no, he didn't have to use [Predator]. The fight would be over in an instant if he used it. And that wasn't what we were aiming for, well, what I was aiming for.
He nodded to my statement before undertaking actions. '«Freeze», go forth! And turn the malevolent projectiles into ice!' Ahah. He actually chanted, didn't he? It wasn't even obligatory but it seemed that it pleased him in a way. But if I had to judge, the aria wasn't that good lyrically.
And thus, all enemies' projectiles were turned to ice, effectively rendering their petty attack useless. But I must applaud their ingeniousness for coming up with that plan. Too bad they were facing me.
But without owning that important piece of information, they carelessly continued their attack. The Black Serpents were the first to continue by launching [Poisonous Breath]. Then, Armoursauri and Giant Bats came to support their comrades. The Armoursauri by simply being the infantrymen and plunging themselves into the melee. And the Giant Bats by ensuring air superiority and close air support.
But they didn't know it yet. All of this was utterly futile!
To repel the [Poisonous Breath] , I simply used [Alteration] to utterly remove the poison inside and I also weakened the velocity of the breath in order to not induce any kind of damage. As for the invading hordes of the combined Armoursauri and bats, it was fairly easy to deal it: I only needed to restrain their movements and victory will be in the grasps of my hands.
Thus, I used [Sticky Thread] to obstruct all of their movements. In turn, the bats could no longer assure air superiority which rendered them useless in any way possible! As for the Armoursauri, due to my restrains, they effectiveness was rendered null and all of their initiatives were gone to ashes. Their role as infantrymen ended in dishonour.
Now, now. There were still the Black Serpents, Black Spiders and Evil Centipedes left. They could still pose a threat if not handled correctly. Not that I actually worried about them.
But... the idea that I and Rimuru would indeed gain combat experiences from this encounter was stupid in retrospection. They were too weak to contend with. Thirty seconds hadn't even passed! How ridiculous was that?! I sighed.
'Rimuru, clean these up. And kill them before you gobble them up. It wouldn't do if you eat them alive, wouldn't it?' I then pointed to the Armoursauri and the Giant Bats. I tried to demonstrate a little bit of humanity but... I really didn't care. Have I really cared in all of my life? The answer was no. But at the very least, I should be professional in doing it (the clean-up).
He then nodded to my statement and hurried to get the work done.
As for me, I needed to clean up the rest. It shall not be difficult. Ah. Before I forgot, I needed to actually kill an Armoursaurus myself in order to acquire his Skill [Body Armour]. After all, I still didn't have it and I quite liked to increase my collection of duplicated Skills.
To make sure of that, I chose a random poor Armoursaurus and used [Règne de Sang] to simply shut down his blood flow. Ah. How merciful and magnanimous of me! He will kindly die after a few minutes. But I couldn't let him fall unconscious on me, so, I stimulated his brain by using magicules in order for to him stay conscious. He no longer had a functional mouth but he wanted to scream... How tragic. How sad.
I then asked a little service to Rimuru. 'Rimuru. Could you please not touch this little lad here?' I said in a gentle voice while smiling.
'If you say so.' he said. That was good, indeed.
Moving on to the rest. I plainly shot an arrow to the ceiling. But it wasn't as simple as it looked like. After all, the arrow divided itself into multiple ones in order to eliminate their targets. As for the pinpointing of the targets, I used a combination of [Magic Sense] , [Sense Heat Source] and [Structural Analysis] which gave me all the necessary information in order to conduct a precision strike on every one of them. I also placed a magical ice barrier at each of their location in order to not let them flee this gruesome battlefield.
Splash
And the monsters were no more as my arrows fell onto them. No cries, no screams, no agony. Only a quiet and plain death took them. They were lucky honestly. But I wasn't really in the mood of the last battle I fought. It would be bad if my sadistic part of me always had a say in battles. I preferred calm and rational decisions over inflicting as much pain possible over my enemies.
It also seemed that Rimuru finished his part of the cleaning-up. Efficient as always, huh? But that slime was actually more sadistic than me. Especially his WN counterpart... Though he still didn't show it as of now. But sooner or later, he will show that side of personality.
As for that little Armoursaurus I chose earlier, it seemed like he didn't last long. How sorrowful. I expected him to live longer. I wanted to see how long a living being could survive with their blood flow cut off with my own two eyes. I sighed. It was no longer important.
And thus, silence engulfed what was once a battlefield as corpses littered all over the ground. Only the quiet flavour of ice remained in this now desolate place.
«Confirmed. Extra Skills [Arrow of Condemnation] and [Magical Radar]...successfully acquired. Following up with the Extra Skill [Without Issue]… Successfully acquired»
‹ Confirmed. Skill [Body Armour]...successfully duplicated.›
Hum. I was sorely disappointed in every possible way honestly. In true, not really... After all, I expected my enemies to be annihilated within a matter of minutes. But certainly not in forty-seven seconds! My bad... I really shouldn't have used an arrow of that kind. But it was fun. Ahah.
Though, I must admit that this scenario in where my enemies were to be defeated that quickly was kind of repetitive. But I should not lessen my guard in the outside world as it was more dangerous than this place.
As for the notifications I received, they were interesting. I gained three whole new Skills and successfully duplicated one. But they were pretty self-explanatory with the exception of [Without Issue]. Though I already knew what its effects were. It simply trapped a foe into a magical ice barrier which effectively cut their escape route. Simple as that.
I also noticed that the magicules expended wasn't in reality that great of an amount. Admittedly, it was quite difficult and even weird to understand the rate of my magical depletion as it had been some time since my last fight. But in a way it was quite logical that it would evolve in that way as I had been training and experimenting with new magical phenomena such as the Mystica Praestrigia or even my imitation of the Mystic Eyes which in turn strengthened me. All in all, this exercise showed the growth of my magical powers. And that growth was indeed great but it still wasn't enough. However in due time, I will see to strengthen myself in order to be on par with the greats of the world.
As for this cave's ecosystem... I certainly wouldn't bet on it making it... Especially with all the devastations we brought upon it, well, more like the devastation I brought upon this place. But as long as the area's magicules were refilled, it should be alright. And it had to be alright since this place to become quite a major centre of production of healing potions. And these boys sure brought a lot of money. And money was the nerve of war! Ahem.
Now, there was another important concern to deal with. And that would be the remaining corpses laying there. They definitively needed to be disposed of. Without that kind of measure, this place was sure to become a centre of infestation. After all, bodies' decomposition always brought unsavoury stuff, namely nasty illnesses. Moreover, this site was to become the first R and D (research and development) facility of the Tempestian nation. And I was quite sure that scientists were fairly concerned about security and health measures. Especially with Vesta at the head of the team. Well, I hoped to acquire enough trust for him to join our team.
The method to dispose of the remaining corpses was fairly simple honestly. All it needed was one little slime named Rimuru and of his Unique Skill [Predator]. That Skill sure was powerful honestly. Though Rimuru never really successfully brought out the full extent of his powers as he was way too powerful. But neither did me.
'Hey, Rimuru. With your [Predator] , could you please dispose of the remaining corpses?' I demanded.
'Gladly! Eheh.' was his way too enthusiast answer. But he sure would have done it even without me saying it. After all, who would say no to an accrued inventory of Skills? Though, they certainly weren't the best Skills but they still represented a fair amount of power. Which in overall wasn't bad.
As for the subjects of Primordial Genesis and the remains of the icy hell of a battlefield I once left upon this cave, I was cautious about touching them as it could potentially reveal things that weren't in my official story of things. So, I simply kept it aside for the moment. But Primordial Genesis truly didn't serve any kind of purpose, huh? I really should have better plan that before. Oh, well, at the very least, the scientific team probably could make use of it later on.
Now, now. I should probably wait for Rimuru to finish up his business before proceeding to continue the journey.
So, I simply sat back and watched the little slime work.
Well, I did that at first but I quickly got bored. So, I decided to do something else. And that something else was to equip a more appropriate combat gear. After all, what I wore at the moment were nothing more than casual clothes. And these weren't exactly ideal for fighting purposes.
Thus, I used [Gradation Air] to directly replace my current clothes. It wasn't particulary hard, honestly, to do so. As to how it looked like? It simply was a Wehrmacht-style military uniform equipped with an icy blue coat or cape that stopped at my waist. I also didn't wear any helmet as I didn't particulary like them. And honestly, I didn't make much alterations to the overall design as I was a great fan of the German army. Concerning the colouration, it remained the symbolic feldgrau colour. And as for the eagle breast (Reichadler) it simply was replaced by a stylised dragon which symbolised Veldora to better represent Tempest. And that was all.
As for the ranks, insignias and medals, there weren't any as I still hadn't finished making them. But during the journey to the surface, I was pretty sure to finish them. Or I could just straight up copy paste from the Wehrmacht. That actually was a pretty tempting proposition in all honesty. Hmm.
Another specification of this "combat gear" was the magical orb I instituted in the middle of the collar. What was a magical orb? Well, it simply was an orb equipped with multiple Mysticae Praestrigiae which allowed a certain numbers effects to be activated. In a way, it was similar to the purposes of the operational orb from Youjo Senki but of course mine was more powerful. That truly was the case since it allowed an integrated camouflage system; invisibility; undetectability from any kind of radars (which of course included protection against [Magic Sense] ); a soundproof effect; an integrated communication network (like a radio or something like [Thought Communication] ); an integrated mini-map implanted; a reinforcement effect; a reduced sensation of pain, hunger, thirst and of sleep; a mind-resistant effect and a magical barrier that continuously protected the user (like a [Multilayer Barrier] but with only one barrier). It also was totally encrypted in order to not expose any kind of intel to enemies and for them to not be able to reverse-engineer my work. It would be kind of bad if they did. This was why, in the case of plan B, I could command them to self-destroy manually. And what was even better? I could do it at distance!
All of this was utterly ridiculous, wasn't it? Not really since the core was absolutely unstable and had the potential to explode at any time if it wasn't me the owner. With my magical powers alone, I could easily restrain the instability. But should the common soldiery wear it in this state... They would die off immediately due to magical poisoning.
And most of these features weren't exactly finished... In theory, all of this should work but I was not really sure if they actually worked. And to make all of this work together was a pure nightmare in the current state but it kind of worked, kind of. Though most of the features present of the orb weren't something I actually needed since all of them were derived from my power. Even then, I just wanted to know how well I could optimise them for the future. As for the battery, it was an autonomous one since it feed itself on the environmental magicules. So, it normally could last forever.
But the end goal was to let soldiers wear that kind of uniform. Because why not? No, it was a little more complex than for the lulz. I wanted the common soldiery to be able to fend off for themselves in difficult times. Especially more so if interstates anarchy was to happen. The basis of a good army after all derived from its common soldiers. What would be an army without its soldiers? And what would be a monarch without his people? They would be nothing.
As to why I didn't use it earlier? It was because I didn't think that another fight was about to come. There also was the fact that the orb attached to the uniform was still in its very early-phase. Which meant that in turn I was admittedly quite reluctant to wear it. Even now I was still reluctant to wear it but... I figured that it wouldn't kill me to try it now. And I must admit that I was pretty happy to finally be able to put on a military uniform. It was a dream fulfilled!
I also changed my hairdressing as I said some days earlier. And so, I changed it to a simple but elegant ponytail. Hopefully, I wouldn't have messed it as I never really touched my hair in that way.
Oh.
It looked like Rimuru had finished up his work and was coming up to me.
'Done!' he informed me of his accomplishment. 'But what's up with these fancy new clothes? And I must say that this is a quite pretty ponytail you have there.' he then brought up a question for me to answer as well as complimenting my new hairdressing.
'That's my new combat gear. I profited from the occasion to wear something else, you see. And yes, I'm quite happy about my new hairdressing!' I proudly revealed! It would be good if more people actually shared my passion (obsession) with military uniforms. After all, they represented the best of what fashion could offer. Well, at least for me. Some said that I had bad tastes, but I argued that I didn't care!
'Oh. Ok. But don't your uniform look a little like–'
Before he finished, I cut him. After all, I hated the word 'Nazi' being associated with this uniform of mine. This uniform sure was inspired by the Wehrmacht, the German Armed Forces, but the Wehrmacht wasn't admittedly 'Nazi' in ideology at the very least. Admittedly was the word employed, huh. There were of course more nuances to this debate but that wasn't the point. So. 'Yes, absolutely, this uniform is inspired from the Wehrmacht, the German Armed Forces! And as you can see, it's pretty cool, isn't it?' I smiled gently in the goal of diverting the topic of conversation. But if he continued, I had a very good scapegoat: blaming the SS! Ahem.
'Ah. Yes. It's a pretty cool uniform.' he said. All good. A crisis prevented. But maybe choosing a less controversial basis for my uniform would have this a lot easier. Eh. Whatever.
'Hmmm. Now, how about reacquiring vocal cords? With the Skill [Ultrasound Waves] that you recently acquired from the Giant Bat, you can once again speak normally. But it will certainly need some training in order to do so.' I proposed to him.
'Ohoh. That's interesting. I think that's worth a shot!'
"A LITTLE LIKE THAT?" he said calmly and peacefully... Argh. My poor, poor ears... They certainly would have ringed if I wasn't a doll... But the speed of learning he demonstrated sure was superior to the one showed in the novels. After all, he took three long days to solely acquire a voice in the novels. But here he was acquiring a voice in less than a minute. I also must account of my influence on him. With me, he gained a better grasp of Magic and Skills which in turn gave him an easier experimenting with mystical phenomena. So, it wasn't too surprising honestly.
Then, for the first in what felt an eternity I spoke with my very own mouth. "You're way too loud. Please, lower your volume."
"MoRE liKe tHat?" he tried to adjust his newfound voice. But it wasn't still at the desirable level.
"Not quite there. But you will eventually acquire the necessary level to hold a proper speech." And honestly, it was quite fun and weird to see a slime learning how to talk. I certainly didn't know how it worked but it was Magic! Admittedly, he wasn't any slime as he was a reincarnated otherworldler, which was quite grandiose in itself. But it still was a sight to be seen.
"We should also resume our course. And of course, you can train your voice on the way." I spoke kindly to him.
He then nodded at my statement as we once again set course to find the exit.
"I COME FROM OUTER SPACE!"
SERIOUSLY?! Why did he blurt that out of nowhere?! That didn't make any fucking sense! Right now, I just wanted to facepalm extremely hard.
Though, my hands were already covering my face as this moment was full of awkwardness. Rimuru sure was a genius... Hurgh. If I wasn't the target of his bizarreness, I would have actually laugh but– I actually was the target...
"Yeah, I finally did it! My voice's volume is now under control!" he said that too joyfully...
But I wasn't really in the mood of reprimanding him. So, I simply applauded him in an ironic manner. "That's good!" And I smiled at him.
I then stopped walking. This time, there wasn't actually any kind of threats to deal with. And I certainly noticed a thread in where the intensity of Monsters' concentration actually lowered since that last ambush. So, I didn't really think that we will have fight again in this cave. But I at least wanted to better Rimuru into the art of war. Well, more precisely, let him acquire inherent Skills to him, not duplicated ones, in order to defend himself.
"Why are you stopping?" he asked.
"Well, I figured that maybe you should acquire combat Skills in order to defend yourself properly. The last time we fought, you hadn't exactly much options to fight with. And who knows which threats you will have to face in the future? Especially more so if I am not here with you. That's the reason why." was my answer.
"Oh. So that's why. Though I don't really think we will be separated anytime soon. After all, we are friends!" He then made a pause before continuing. "But what I will exactly do?"
I appreciated his thoughtfulness honestly. But it felt weird to be treated this way in all frankness... As my old friends were sarcastic assholes that were incapable of complimenting, thanking someone, apologising or to even say the word "friend". Not that I was very different than them. Nevertheless, they still were great friends because of these same "defaults". We were a weird bunch, weren't we? Ah. So long had passed since then, huh?
I then reacted with words to what he said. "Nevertheless, we should consider that option. After all, we don't know what lurks in the shadow of this new world. Even I with all my knowledge has to be careful. And you should also be." I then paused. After all, speaking with a mouth required a little more effort than telepathy. "As to answer your question, you will train with water in order to acquire two interesting Skills. These are [Water Current Manipulation] and [Water Blade]."
"That's why I have stopped just before this little lake here." I then pointed to the lake just in front of us to demonstrate my point.
"But it would be good if I did some demonstration, wouldn't it?" I spoke.
I should probably acquire the Skill [Hydraulic Propulsion] as I still didn't have it. This wouldn't be a hard exercise honestly. As I only needed to pressure water via magicules in order to create a decently powerful water jet. And that was all.
And so, a water jet propelled itself from the lake to the ceiling. But the power output wasn't too great as I didn't put up much magicules.
«Confirmed. Common Skill and [Hydraulic Propulsion]...successfully acquired.»
"Was that [Hydraulic Propulsion]?" asked Rimuru.
"It indeed is the case. I wanted to first verify if all was good. But it seemed so. Moving on to [Water Current Manipulation]. For this one, you need to run magical energy across the part of the body where you intend to impact, you vibrate and then point it into a single direction."
And as expected, the water vibrated as magical energy flowed through my hand.
«Confirmed. Common Skill and [Water Current Manipulation]...successfully acquired.»
Then Rimuru imitated me and did the same manipulation in order to acquire that Skill. What prowess! I liked that.
"Like that?" he said. And I could feel a tinge of pride in his voice. Ahah.
"Exactly. You got the hang of it. But the next one, [Water Blade] , requires a bit more of complexity to achieve. So, try to picture the cylinder of a car engine, one in which you apply pressure while simultaneously releasing a comparatively small amount of water per go. Then adjust the pressure and the diameter of the output. All of this will then allow you to exactly adjust the force of expulsion. But as you're a slime, you can adjust it to directly your body. Which is admittedly easier." It was rather similar to the novels' explanations. I didn't bother to search for another metaphor as this was good enough.
Thus, I demonstrated. And as indented, a blade of water soar through the air and landed on a poor faraway rock. And the result was that rock was cut in half.
«Confirmed. Common Skill and [Water Blade]...successfully acquired.»
«The following Common Skills [Water Pressure Propulsion] , [Current Movement] , and [Water Blade] are combined and upgraded to the Extra Skill [Water Manipulation].»
"Woaw. That's pretty powerful."
"Indeed. If you invest enough magicules into the blade, it certainly could produce something similar to an explosion at impact. Pretty incredible, isn't it? But now, it's your turn." Let's see how well he will perform.
He nodded. He then proceeded to apply himself to earn [Water Blade] with vigour. I liked his spirit.
I then sat back and watched him try. I only stepped up go to give advice from time to time.
After countless tries, he succeeded and acquired the Skill [Water Blade]. I must applaud his perseverance and determination that allowed him to accomplish that feat.
"Yeah! I succeeded!" he now vocally confirmed what I already assessed. And he sure was happy.
"That's good!" I said while smiling at him.
But now, what to do? I think that with these Skills, he certainly will be capable of defending himself. I also could teach him other Skills but it would be better to do that when he acquires a human form as it gave a wider range of learning. And honestly, it will not be too long before.
"Now, let's resume our course." I spoke.
He nodded and then jumped on my shoulder. Hmmm. Was he that tired? He normally didn't do that as he always had plenty of energy. Maybe he was just demonstrating laziness? Whatever.
Creak
And slowly, a giant iron door opened. But it was not any door, for, it was the door leading towards the path of light. Yes, it was the door that will let us exit the cave that birthed us one-hundred and twenty days ago.
I also noticed that this was not the door from the novels but indeed the one from the anime. That was admittedly an interesting change. Though, it wasn't an important one. But I definitively had to keep an eye open on potential divergences.
But— the three idiots magi disguised as adventurers were to come. That was an undeniable fact. Though, they didn't have much impact at this point. Well, they never truly had an impact in the story honestly. Yes, I was totally direspectful to them. However, I quite liked them. They truly were a dynamic and interesting trio. Unfortunately, they didn't get much screentime in either the Novels or the anime. Even in the side-stories.
And so, I signalled Rimuru to hide himself. "There's incoming sounds of unknown origins. We should better hide."
As for me, I simply hided by using [Veil of the Unknown] and [Silent Freeze Domain]. They were the easiest methods though quite costly in magicules.
Then, the three idiots passed through us while chatting some stupid stuff. But at the very least, they were funny. Accidental humour often was the best. Though, I didn't laugh as to not give away my position.
Next, they used some arts to become invisible. And they finally disappeared in the distance. Ah. I must say that weren't certainly lucky to be sent to investigate the disappearance of Veldora... But as long as they didn't touch my bounded fields, I was content.
'Rimuru, you can now come out.' I telepathically messaged him in order to not arouse suspicions from the three idiots. I also deactivated my Skills to once reappear to the outside world.
'Ok.'
And thus, with the adventurers out of sight, we finally went through the door to once again attain the tender touch of the sun. And to embrace a new and fresh beginning, one that will birth the Tempestian nation!
And as we went, the northern and strong wind welcomed us as we once again basked in the light of the sun. And the scenery before us was nothing short of beautiful... It was breath-taking...
Woaw. Better than RTX or NVIDIA! Was that what we called real-life? I should really stop my stupid jokes... So, I coughed in my hand in order to regain a little bit of dignity. At least in my mind.
But nevertheless, I wanted to send my gratitude one final time to the nameless cavern that birthed Astrellia, the person that I became in this new world, by contemplating it one last time. It was also time to grace this cavern with a name worthy of its splendour, and thus, its name shall be— Prometheus!
And as I named it, I brought myself to finally bid it goodbye.
"Farewell Prometheus!"
Fin de l'Arc I : Ô Prometheus !
AN:
So, this is a long double release. It was one that took me way too much time to complete but here it is. There's admittedly not much to say at the moment. But finally, Arc I came to an end! And with it, a few more interesting things are bound to happen as well as divergences in the story. What does this mean? Well, the story will take some more mature themes and a certain spiciness as it will slowly advance. But we aren't there yet. So, I will not spoil anything.
As for future releases, it is in a quite uncertain state honestly. Especially since school will once again begin in September and since I will be entering my 5th secondary year (2nd year of high-school), my day is bound to last way longer (I will finish at 16:30). But I will try to keep a monthly release beginning in September.
Ah yes! I forgot to add it in the first release. But I will adress some reviews (not that there is much) in this little update. Though I have a hard time with compliments, I'm way too embarrassed to adress them. But I thank those that did as it keeps my laziness away :)
So. Here it is:

guest:Would you mind using english for ur skills names? Its easier to read, when u dont have to look them up over and over again, because you cant understand the name of the skill.
Me the Author
Honestly, I have to agree that this isn't really easy for someone not familiar with French to encounter these kind of Skills' names but– I will not change them. It would demand me to retouch all the Chapters I have been working upon. And that would be particulary annoying.
I once did that with the Skill [Mystères des Étoiles] because at first it was named [Annales Interdites] but I didn't like it, so I changed it. But that manœuvre took honestly too much time, and that was for only one Chapter. If the same scenario applied for all the Chapters I have worked upon, I would practically die off.
Though, I have only used French for some Unique and Extra Skills. And Astrellia rarely use the Skills with French names apart from [Mystères des Étoiles] since it's a main Skill. So, it should be alright.

inexistent is not correct. It is nonexistent.

I checked what you said on the internet but at the very least, in British English, "inexistent" is a true and real word, though quite rare. So, I agree that "nonexistent" is more used. And so, I will certainly use that one if the occasion presents itself to me.
But thanks to you, I finally completed that teaser (that is now a Codex) with new information.
