After experiencing a disastrous quirk activation that cost him his best friend, Izuku spends the next 9 years haunted by it and refusing to use his quirk ever again. Of course, luck would just have it that the first time he'd use it in nearly a decade would be to kill a man in cold blood.
John Wick has experienced something similar. After finally escaping his dark past, his daughter, Eri's, quirk activation sends it all crumbling down. Not long after losing his wife, the Shie Hassaikai abducts Eri and attempts to kill John during his moment of weakness. He never expected to be saved by a certain verdanette, in the right place at the right time.
2 years have passed since then, and a battle-hardened and world weary Izuku applies to UA to become a hero. An unbreakable dying wish that he must fulfill... to become the Boogeyman Hero: Bayaka.
Important Notes:
- Bayaka is the correct translation for Boogeyman, the John Wick screenwriters messed up and called him Baba Yaga, but I'll keep that name for John Wick with some quick wit
- The story starts when Izuku is 13 and Eri is 4, one year before canon is supposed to start
- I am NOT pairing Izuku with Eri, they have a strictly sibling relationship, and NOT the Alabama kind
- I will, however, be accepting pairing requests, and will try to integrate the pairs that appeal and make sense to me
- Izuku will not get One for All, I have an idea on who to give it to (as bland and boring as it may be), and because it's a pretty common outcome in fics where Izuku doesn't get OFA, I will be accepting requests for who you want the successor to be. I'd be more inclined to accept your request if the student is from 1B, mostly because fics where a 1B student gets OFA is quite scarce if existent at all
- There will be some semblance of AU with me introducing the assassin world as the main antagonist of the series
- Of course, they won't be the only antagonists…
- Since I'm not really copy pasting and colliding the whole world of John Wick with BNHA, I'm not labeling this as a crossover
- Izuku will not be a carbon copy of canon John Wick for 2 reasons: Firstly is, just because the man trained him doesn't mean they'll necessarily fight the exact same way. While Izuku is definitely influenced by JW, he still has a more analytical mind compared to how JW seems to rely a bit more on his skill and killer instinct. Secondly is, Izuku doesn't have as much experience as JW. Canon JW literally had at least a decade of experience from both a military and assassin background. While Izuku is definitely a fast learner, you really can't expect him to catch up and be as good as JW after only 2 years of training. That said, he will definitely not be stagnating and will eventually be as strong as canon JW.
- And finally, the most important note. Yes, John Wick taught his apprentice the art of killing people with nothing but a pencil, the pen(cil) truly is mightier than the sword... or even the machine gun in some cases
Now that the summary and notes are done… ONWARDS WITH THE STORY!
