CHAPTER 1

The sound of clicking heels from behind her brings Olivia back from her daze as she stares blankly at herself in the mirror. She shifts her gaze to look at the approaching short brunette girl with a phone in her hand. "Liv, you're up in 5." Rachel Berry, her publicist slash sister, informs her and places a hand on her shoulder before turning to leave the dressing room again.

Olivia gets up from her chair after checking herself one last time in front of the mirror and goes towards the backstage. This is her first live media interview for her first published book that has been making buzz for the past 5 weeks and has now made it to the Top 10 New York Times Bestseller List. One could say that Olivia Wright is at the beginning of her career as a best-selling author and she could not be any happier about it. The brunette bombshell is introduced by Michael and Sara on their segment in Good Morning America and are now engaging in a casual interview.

"Olivia, a little birdy told me that you celebrated your birthday yesterday?" Sara asks her with a wide smile and Olivia nods with a tint of blush gracing her cheeks. "Well then, this calls for a celebration and what better way to do that than a cake?" Sara exclaims as she points behind Olivia and Rachel comes from the backstage holding a birthday cake with firework candles while everybody in the studio sings her a happy birthday. Rachel places the cake on the table as they finish the song and waits for Olivia to make a wish and blow the candles. Rachel gives her sister a kiss on the cheek before exiting the studio.

"I have a feeling this little birdy also sings show tunes in her sleep." Olivia laughs, looking back at Rachel who shakes her head playfully. "Love you Rach and thank you." she says before turning her attention to the audience. "She's my sister by the way and yes she sings show tunes in her sleep and y'all better be ready because one day, she'll be the one sitting in my spot right now when these two..." she points her index finger at Michael and Sara, "interviews her for her first lead role in a Broadway musical." She sends a wink back at Rachel as the hosts and the audience clap their hands at Rachel and Olivia.

"That's awesome! We can't wait to have you in here Rachel." Michael says to Rachel before looking at Olivia. "Your birthday is on the 4th of July, wow. Does that bother you? Sharing your birthday with the rest of America?" he asks before picking up and drinking the coffee from his mug.

"Hey, I'm not complaining. I mean, do you get fireworks on your birthdays?" the two hosts shake their heads in response. "Well I do and it's freaking amazing so yeah, I don't mind." she says as she raises her arms and shoulders in a shrug with a smirk on her face.

"Hey, can't argue with that. Matter of fact, I might start having fireworks for my birthday just because." Sara and the rest of the people in the studio laugh at her brilliant idea. After the laughter subsides, Sara proceeds with the interview. "Now, let's talk about your book Olivia. It's called "The World According To Liv" which is now in the Top 10 New York Times Bestseller List…" she starts as she grabs a copy of the book from the table to show the audience. "...and can I just say, not bad for a first timer in the publishing scene. So tell us, what was your inspiration in writing this book." she puts the copy back on the table and listens to Olivia's response.

"As narcissistic as this may sound, I am the inspiration for this book. Aside from the obvious title, the main protagonist in this story is based on myself. I was lost at one point in my life; had no direction whatsoever, you know, the works. But during those days, I stumbled upon a quote from a poet named Vironika Tugaleva, and that became my mantra. She said, and I quote, 'To know yourself, you must sacrifice the illusion that you already do.'" Olivia faced the audience and smiled "That resonated with me and when I did use that as a mantra, I started to evolve and discover things about myself that I never knew before and that is the reason why I'm here today. I wouldn't be here had I not stepped out of my comfort zone a few years ago."

"Wow, that is deep. Can you give us any spoilers about the book?" Michael asks her with a hopeful, playful smile.

"You haven't read the book yet?" she feigned hurt at Michael's audacity to ask for spoilers. "My lips are sealed Mr. Strahan…" she squinted her eyes at the tall man, "You gotta buy and read my book. I need the cash, man, c'mon" she says as the hosts and the audience burst out in laughter.

"Well, you heard the lady, Michael." Sara cuts in before continuing "Moving on... you're going on a book tour, correct?" Olivia nods, "Well, tell us more about it."

"Yes…" the brunette starts as she shifts in her seat to face the audience, "I'm going on a book tour which begins tomorrow at Barnes and Noble on 5th at 3pm. I'll be there to read a few chapters and there will be a book signing afterwards. Tour dates and locations are currently shown on screen so I will see you there!" Olivia points the camera before looking at the two hosts again.

"Well, there you have it. Grab your copy of "The World According To Liv" and get that copy signed tomorrow! Olivia Wright, everyone." Michael exclaims as all of them stand from their seats and shakes hands with each other. Olivia exits the studio and is immediately met with Rachel.

"You're done for today. Let's get you home so we can prepare for tomorrow." Rachel says as she and Olivia make their way outside to their town car. "And oh, don't forget our dinner later. You know our dads want to see us before our schedule gets crazy."

"Of course, Rach. Wouldn't dare miss it." she replies with a smile. Olivia adores her and Rachel's dads and she's always excited to spend time with them.

The next day, Olivia's book signing tour is in full force. She spent the first half of the day finalizing details of her tour in other cities before heading to her first signing at Barnes and Noble on 5th. The number of fans that were waiting for her at the bookstore surprised the hell out of her. She knew her book is a best-seller but seeing the physical representation of that just blew her mind.

The afternoon went on without a hitch with Olivia starting the event by reading the first two chapters of her book followed by a Q&A. After the Q&A, she started signing the copies her fans bought while making small talk with them. She spent almost an hour signing books and she's glad that the current one she's signing is the last because her hand is about to give up. She signs the book excitedly before closing it and handing it to the giddy teenage girl in front of her. She thanks everyone for attending her event before everybody is being ushered to exit the bookstore.

Olivia twists the cap of her water bottle open and empties the bottle before tossing it in the trash bin beside the table. She gets up from the chair and turns to leave but before she knew it, she's being turned again forcefully and all of a sudden her face is in between two palms and soft lips are on hers. Her eyes widened at the sudden contact but she couldn't help but think how soft those lips were and just as she was about to return the kiss for reasons even she can't comprehend at the moment, she-

"Ahhhh! Security!" she hears Rachel's eardrum-shattering squeal that brought her back to reality. She gently pushed the tall, blonde woman's shoulder and only then did she notice the tears that were running down the blonde's face.

"Oh my god, Santana. It's really you." the blonde exclaimed, her sobs becoming uncontrollable by the second. Olivia just stares at her while two bouncers grab the blonde woman by the arm, ready to whisk her away from the brunette. Just as the guards started to step back, she shakes her head and tells the guards to stop.

"Let her go." she says, glaring at the two men. They let go of the blonde's arms who immediately walks back in front of Olivia and holds both of her hands.

"I-I can't believe this S-Santana. It's you. W-We thought y-you were d-dead." the blonde woman stammers in between her sobs. Olivia can't help but feel bad for the woman in front of her but at the same thinks about what kind of crazy shit this is.

"Miss… I don't know who you are and who this Santana person is. I'm sorry." she says as she stares back at the woman's sad, blue orbs.

"N-No, that's not possible. Your name is Santana Lopez-Pierce and I'm Brittany, your wife."

"My what now?"

"Her what?!"

Olivia and Rachel both shrieked at this unexpected revelation.
