AN: Yo! I'm back with another chapter and this marks the fifth chapter in this story, which is quite surreal as i didn't expect to write this much for this story specifically. If you noticed, I updated the synopsis and the character tags, to fit the narrative. Without further ado, let's begin!
-Unknown Location: Unova-
"Can it be done?"
…
"OI!" The voice flared with more vigor.
"Huh? What do you want?" Another snapped out their trance.
"Seriously, i ask if you could export the next shipment safely, how're you even a part of this group?"
"Obviously, where is this getting exported to?"
"We need it sent to someone in Sinnoh, their name is Cyrus, ya know, the old looking dude that created Team Galactic."
"Hm, that's fair enough." The voice seemed more monotone, however a bit of excitement was evident. "Where in Sinnoh?"
"Canalave City."
"I'll depart."
"Good Luck, Gedeon."
-Castelia City: Unova-
"I should be able to make tommorows ship to Sinnoh." Gedeon was now taller, reaching 6'2. His raven black hair now was in a ponytail, with the extended part being green colored. His chocolate colored eyes were a shade darker, however they seemed more vacant, his face features looked like he was in a bored state, or very blank and completely empty of emotion. His attire consists of a white undershirt with a black trench coat and black pants with blue shoes.
"Cyrus huh…...if he has returned to this world, that means he successfully captured Giratina to release him." Gedeon held a suitcase in his right hand, gripping it with a lot more pressure. "I'll have to take into account that my opponent is Giratina, who I assume can handle anything that I can dish out."
Gedeon used his left hand to take his Xtransiever, and began to click a few buttons.
['Eh? You're calling me? Must be serious."]
"Yes, I need a flight to Sinnoh, you think you can handle it, Skyla?"
['You underestimate me! I'm actually in Castelia City, meet me by the thumb!'] Gedeon watched as the call went silent and sighed.
Gedeon walked towards the thumb looking dock Castelia had, many people were present around him, some of the women passing gave him sultry looking looks, which he paid no mind to. He looked at the alleyways that the large city has and his eyes shifted from the top to the very bottom, the streets were dirty, and the air in the city was toxic.
He sounded like some mad naturist.
"Ha! Imagine that, I wonder if someone would plunge the world to return it to its former glory, that's a funny thing." Gedeon chuckled, however a shiver ran up his spine as if he jinxed something. "Hope i didn't cause an omen with that."
"Thumb Pier."
"There you are! I'm over here!" Gedeon looked down towards the right end of the pier, finally seeing the one who called out to him. The young adult smiled a bit, over the last three years, He and Skyla became close friends, you would think they would be a couple, but Gedeon found them to be a hindrance.
Skyla changed over the last three years now, her hair with a light accessory resembling a propellor and a bun. Her outfit consists of a long-sleeved light blue crop top, bulky dark blue gloves, light blue short-shorts, dark blue boots, a dark blue holster attached on her right thigh, and dark blue straps with white buckles that wrap around her stomach and hips.
"Sorry, got a bit sidetracked."
"Yeah, I can see that, everytime you're in this city you get mesmerised by it." Skyla watched as Gedeon gave her a deadpan stare, which she returned herself.
"You know I hate this city, it's way too cramped, and you can barely walk through the streets during rush hour!" Nagged Gedeon, which Skyla just laughed at, before smiling.
"Anyway, you need a lift to Sinnoh? What for?"
"My next job, if my hunch is right, the world is on another brink of collapse." Gedeon explained, although vaguely.
"You're joking…...right?"
"Wish i was, however I would rather investigate this myself, because I know this is way out of Officer Jen's expertise." Gedeon patted Skyla's shoulder. "You know me well, if i don't return, i trust that you look after Iris, she's a kid, so i need someone to guide her."
"Stop jinxing it, would ya? You're coming back!" Skyla rebutted back, her face red with anger.
"Right...sorry, I won't fail." Gedeon slowly looked out towards the ocean, watching the pokemon swim about."Let's get going."
"You got it!"
-Diablo's Ocean, Sinnoh-
"This is the spot!"
"You built a house here?"
"Yes, this place is called Diablo's Ocean, supposedly a rare gem can be found near here, although I had no luck in that matter, it's still a big dent in my research."
"If you say so, Gedeon, are ya sure you didn't need me to fly you to Canalave?" Skyla asked, with concern engraved in her voice.
"No, i'll be fine, plus, we got here earlier than i expected, so i'll take today to train my pokemon, what will you do now?"
"Hm, i'd stay but i got some challengers waiting sadly." Gedeon smiled, feeling a bit dejected, however that was the life of a gym leader.
"Are you still doing those Air Battle stuff?"
"Yeah, I've just been bored with battling, I really just want to take flight and reach the ozone one day…." Skyla glanced towards the sky, the clouds moving aimlessly.
"Can't you just quit being a gym leader? You shouldn't be shackled to something you don't enjoy doing."
It was true, being a part of the Pokemon League Association was tough, it has its benefits and perks, however from the way Skyla speaks of it, Gedeon began to wonder if the league was corrupted, just like his other world's counterpart was. He didn't have enough clues for that, but he'll look into it. This was a pressing matter, one in which he needs more than just one viable source.
"It's possible I can, but ya know….the benefits are sooooo good~" Skyla practically hummed in delight, getting the young man to shake his head, before a smile fixated on his face.
"I understand, you should head back home, supposedly a storm is brewing on the path we took."
And with that Skyla rushed off in a hurry, leaving a trail of dust behind. The young adult didn't know what to think of Skyla sometimes, she was so optimistic and then she can be fearsome as well, however her lack of thrill from pokemon battles could stem from him. In the past three years the young adult stopped his Unova league challenge to research the past. And he learned a lot.
In the past, it was stated that Groudon and Kyogre had a primitive form, meaning that not every legendary Pokemon was created by one entity. but somehow evolved from something else entirely. This led to more questions, how were they formed? What did they evolve from? How did humans survive during such times. It was fascinating.
"Alright, time to train." Gedeon threw three red and white ball-like figures, and in a flash three Pokemon were released.
The first was a large, bipedal crocodile like Pokemon, it was named Krookodile. Its body is mainly brick-red in color, and covered in black stripes with pointed ends; it has a round gray belly. It has considerably large and razor-sharp teeth and claws. Around its eyes, there is a black patch resembling a bandit's mask, or a stylized pair of sunglasses. One thing to note was that Krookodile was bulky looking as well.
The second was named a Floatzel, it's an orange river weasel-like Pokémon. It has a cream underbelly, two tails, a yellow floatation device looping around its body, two blue fins on its arms, orange fins on its head, and short legs. On its back is one yellow spot, making this Floatzel a female.
The third was an insectoid looking dragon pokemon. It is primarily light green and has a pair of large rhombus-shaped wings with red trim, toeless hind legs, and skinny arms with three-clawed hands. Flygon's tail has several dark green stripes and three small green rhombus shapes with red trims at the end. It has large eyes and a pair of green antennae that point back. Its eyes have red covers that prevent sand from getting into it. It was called Flygon.
"Alright you three, we're on another mission, we're back in Sinnoh." WIth that both Krookodile and Flygon shivered, not liking the rather cold region. Floatzel kept its usual grin on its face. "Heh, this time, i'll add a fire type to the team, don't worry about it." Gedeon reassured his ground types, but more for Flygon, granted it's also a dragon type,
"I was thinking of helping Sobek be more tolerant of water type attacks, granted we'll be fighting a bunch of water types soon. So Noelle, let's get it over with." Floatzel or nicknamed Noelle just gave a few evil snickers as Krookodile just sulked in a corner at its situation.
"Seltas, let's try to get you to master Draco Meteor, Whaddaya say?" Flygon happily fluttered its wings, which caused Gedeon to comically fly over Floatzel torturing Krookodile with water type attacks.
This was just the average day in the life of Gedeon Alexander.
-Canalave City: Sinnoh-
The next day, Gedeon arrived at Canalave city, it was bisected with a canal, speaking of, you can see ships at the piers. Canalave also held a brisk air of foreign culture. Gedeon loved this about the city, there was such a diverse setting, it made him call it his second home. When he first came to Sinnoh, he first came here and met a man named Rowan, who was in fact, the region's professor. Rowan looked unapproachable but like himself, Rowan was a good man and cared about the wellbeing of pokemon and humans alike. Rowan was by far the most inspirational man Gedeon has met in his travels.
"Hm, now, Cyrus should be at the library, he looked the part to be a rather diligent and informative man." Gedeon's features returned to a frown, he was stepping in some dangerous Gyarados filled waters. "I have to keep my wits about me, I'm dealing with a crazed man, although, I wonder what's in this briefcase." Gedeon made a contract with a group to deliver equipment overseas, considering the group is only tied down to Unova, however they make business with other regions in the dark.
Not everything is what it seems and Gedeon is proof of that.
The year Gedeon turned 16 years of age, the boy at the time decided to leave his Zangoose, Archen and Eeletrik with Hilda, whom he had met again in Driftveil city, he began to tell the girl of what he wants to do and how he'll have to start fresh. Zangoose and his other pokemon understood what their trainer conveyed to them, that keeping Hilda safe was now their main goal. A month after that, Gedeon ran into Team Plasma in the cold storage area in Driftveil City, where he met someone who decided to teach him how to be cunning.
Odd isn't it?
Gedeon then joined Team Plasma, but not in the way you think. He didn't work for the main boss, but for one of the Admins, named Almina. She was quite cold, but very kind as well. She's the reason he dyed his hair part green. The lady was a big sister figure, or maybe mother. The lady was well over ten years older than he was.
But that aside
Without Almina's guidance, he wouldn't know how to handle the dark side of the world he inhabits. Just like light, there's darkness, and he'll be one of the few to stop the darkness with a bit of it too. Gedeon wasn't kind, not at all, only to those he liked. Skyla, Elesa, Alder, Iris who calls him older brother, and Caitlin. Who was always expressing boredom, which he connected with. He didn't know why, but if he had a choice, Caitlin would be the one he would like to be in a relationship with, given how most would not want a girlfriend who is bored almost 98% of the time.
"I figured you'd be here." Gedeon sat down next to a man with spiky blue hair, the man looked extremely empty, however it was masked with a smile.
"Who might you be?"
"I'm here to give you what you ordered from Sirius….rings a bell?" The blue haired man, dressed in a simple white shirt, brown baggy pants and a blue coat frowned, showing his true emotion or lack thereof.
"I see, I didn't expect them to send a child, nevertheless. I would assume that the contents are secured?" Gedeon handed the briefcase and gave a curt nod.
"Do you have any idea who I am?"
"Yes, but I won't stop whatever you're doing here, just know, as long as you walk that path again, I will put a stop to you, and unlike the one who stopped you before, I vow to kill you, Cyrus." Gedeon's voice is laced with untapped emotions.
"Interesting, I look forward to it." Cyrus said dismissively as both he and Gedeon walked their separate paths, both knowing that their next encounter will be brutal.
-Later-
"Cyrus, you're back."
"Yes, however I ran into an obstacle." Cyrus was now looking at three figures, each wearing some.
"Like what?" The first to speak was a boy who had a darker shade of blue hair than Cyrus, however it was shaped rather odd. Cyrus merely hummed as he looked out the window in the house they were in. It wasn't too far away from Canalave city.
"The person who gave me this will eventually kill." Cyrus placed the briefcase onto the table softly, and clicked the buttons to open it. "So they really can make these."
"Wait, kill you! But…" A female with long red hair said with worry.
"Yeah, I also don't like how nonchalant you're about this, Cyrus." One with poison like purple hair said, her hair was also weirdly shaped.
"I have nothing to worry about, with this, I'll be able to handle Palkia." The three teenagers looked at the inside of the briefcase and saw a purple like capsule and all grew wide eyed.
"That's a Masterball!"
"Indeed, Saturn, not even legendary pokemon can resist this."
"I see now, very interesting."
"Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, I'd like for you three to prepare yourselves."
The three teenagers didn't utter anything but give a nod, they all looked up to Cyrus, or now, they see him as a father figure, the man took them all in when they had nothing, the world didn't give them a chance, but Cyrus did, even if his plans don't succeed they'll still follow him to the distortion world and back, which Cyrus did manage to come back from.
But how?
Was it because of Giratina from what they saw on that day two years ago? Or was it because of fate?
They didn't know the answers, but they'll stop Cyrus from dying from whoever was after him.
"Cyrus, one question." Saturn, the deep blue haired teenager spoke, his tone serious.
"Yes?"
"This person, are they….."
"If i had to guess, he's around your age, however it seems he also hates this world, yet he is compelled in helping the world that he hates, i'm curious about him, what are ideals? What motivates him? I want to learn more about this character." Cyrus said, feeling enticed by this new enemy...or could this be the one who'll match his own ideals.
For that answer.
-Canalave City-
"This is quite fascinating…" Gedeon was now outside in the dead of night sitting on a bench, reading a book. It was named Jurassic Outrage, it features a Tyrantrum on the cover. "I wonder, why did they try to infuse the Tyrantrum with particles from another planet?" Gedeon closed the book and sighed.
"Ah! You're here! I must be lucky." A voice approached, getting Gedeon to frown.
"Hm, Looker it's you." Gedeon didn't bother to look at the man who sat next to him. Gedeon didn't particularly like Looker, or more like, he couldn't stand the man, he was too much of a hassle and he works for the international police.
"Still giving the cold shoulder? That's harsh."
"Enough, what is it you need?" The chocolate colored eyes of Gedeon shifted to the left and looked upon a piece of paper with writings on it.
"Hm." Gedeon lightly took the paper and read the words, before turning his attention to Looker. "You say that pokemon have been killing their trainers? But you know they wouldn't do that."
"Yes, that's why I figured another group is behind this, one that knows how to lurk. That's why I need your assistance, you know how to work in the shadows. Something I can't do...you know why." Looker then stood up and what shocked Gedeon to his core was the fact that Looker gave a bow, a bow of plead.
"Stop that, you're embarrassing yourself." Looker smiled thankfully, getting Gedeon to stand and stretch out his hand, which gave Looker a bewildered look.
Definitely not a pun there.
"I'm….no, thank you. Please inform me on anything, if you want a place to start, i can take you to Eterna City. That was where the most recent case started."
"That would be much appreciated, I need to get a feel of the scene." Gedeon looked at the waning moon and a smile surfaced on his features.
Maybe this solving this case will help him reach Darkrai and to an extent, find out where Lear's kingdom is located.
-Floaroma Town-
"This town…."
"Beautiful isn't it?
"Yeah, I actually like this, the town has a calming aura to it."
"Heh, it's the flowers i tell you. They really can make the most cold of people feel something."
"Was that directed towards me….." Gedeon watched as Looker just whistled as he walked into a shop, getting the young adult to snicker at how he was callously ignored.
Gedeon decided to walk through the town, to get a better feel of it. As he did, he noticed that the flower petal patterns went from one color to the next. Each all vibrant in their own unique way. It was amazing to see. Gedeon then heard a squeal and looked up towards the sky and saw purple air balloon-like figures floating towards the outskirts of the city.
"Drifloon? I must be lucky." Gedeon followed the floating pokemon, there was no designated path, however these Drifloon seem to be knowledgeable as to where they are headed.
Reaching the outskirts of the town, Gedeon stumbled upon a powerplant of sorts. He gazed upon the windmill with questioning thoughts. The brown colored eyes then looked upon the single Drifloon that stood there.
Alone.
It just stood there, floating. But why? He didn't know why, however that just made him more curious about the pokemon. In his hands now were a phone like contraption.
"Rotom, get the data on this." Gedeon watched as his phone sparked to life, funny looking blue eyes and a mouth appeared and floated in front of him.
"On it boss!" With a click sound happening a few seconds later, Gedeon watched as Drifloon's data was recorded. "IT IS DONE!" The Rotom-Phone shouted like some evil boss.
"Thanks, now send the information to Mister Rowan and Professor Juniper." Gedeon ordered, which the Rotom obeyed.
"Now, why are you here alone?" Gedeon spoke up to the Drifloon, who directed its attention to him. "How intriguing. Your friends left you behind because you wanted to rest."
The Drifloon seemed to give him a sign by moving it's 'hands which Gedeon finally confirmed that he was right. It seems even pokemon can be cruel within their own species.
"Say, I know it's random, but how about you travel with me?" Gedeon kneed, slowly to make sure that he didn't scare off the ghost type pokemon. Gedeon placed a misty purple colored pokeball down on the grass. "You have the option to decide. I won't intervene in your decision." Gedeon lied down, staring back up at the clouds drifting. A minute later his other pokemon came out and instantly began to chat with the small ghost type pokemon.
"They never do that…" The young adult shrugged his shoulders and placed his head on his arms, closing his eyelids, shortly falling into a blissful nap.
In an hour or so Looker stumbled upon Gedeon and his pokemon who were all sleeping as plain as day, without a care for the world.
"So, this is where you've been. You're seriously odd….but, i could go for a nap too." Looker did the exact thing as well and drifted off to sleep on the rather soft grass.
-Elsewhere-
"Sir, I found out where the boy you've been looking for is located."
"Where is he now, Saturn?"
"He is currently making his way to Eterna City." Cyrus showed signs of interest, something Saturn caught on.
"Why there? Has anything happened recently?"
"Yes, supposedly this hasn't surfaced on the news, but Pokemon have recently been….killing their own trainers. The reasoning behind this is unknown." Saturn informed, this caused Cyrus to look quite pale, however only for a bit.
"Is this person with anyone else?"
"Yes, with the man from the International Police, which begs the question, does this person work with them as well?" Saturn brought up a good point, but Cyrus knew better, the boy did not work for them, if he did, Cyrus would've been locked up again.
And another key point was that the boy threatened him.
"I see, so that's how it is, fascinating. Saturn, have Mars go to Eterna City, i would like to test him, He should provide me with necessary data." Cyrus calmly ordered, which Saturn nodded too.
"Hmmm, this boy reminds me of someone….someone quite fearsome."
-Eterna Forest-
"This place, it's like home." Gedeon mentioned, feeling nostalgic.
"This place is home to quite a few Ghost and Dark types, you would expect more grass pokemon to be here."
"Hm, that's interesting."
'Ah, this place changed quite a bit….it was more lively.'
'Oh, you're up now?'
'Sleeping is good for the soul, plus, it seems that an old nemesis has returned.'
'Wait, huh? Who?'
'It was a serpent beast back when i was alive, it's why i was called the Serpent Slayer, although it seems to have evolved, much like a Legendary pokemon, so i doubt i can kill it now…..'
'Is it responsible for the pokemon outrage?'
'I'm not sure, but if I had to guess, yes it is. If this is the case, you need to be much stronger.'
With that Susanoo went mute, Gedeon guessed he went into meditation.
"Let's hurry out of here, yeah?" Looker noticed the grim expression that was present on Gedeon's face. Looker wanted to ask for the reason for it, but complied.
It took them about another hour to reach the exit of the large forest; it was there they met the gym leader for Eterna Forest, which Gedeon was glad to have met. He and Looker were quite lost.
"Looker, I'm so glad you're here. I've been looking in the forest for any clues, but I got nothing. What's also strange was the lack of pokemon this time." The gym leader was named Gardenia, and to say the least, her outfit was really expressive of her nature. Gardenia has brown eyes and short half-brown, half-black hair. She wears a black long-sleeved crop top that shows her midriff under a green cloak with a black "X" mark in the center. She wears brown knee-length khaki shorts and a black belt with a silver buckle around her waist. Finally, she wears green boots with black laces.
"I thought I said to wait until I got here….but nevertheless, I understand your reasonings, i would've went to look for clues as well." Looker slightly chastised the young adult, but agreed with her actions. Looker noticed that Gedeon was staring at a tree.
Rather intently.
"What's wrong Gedeon?"
"I think this tree is telling me something." Gedeon didn't know how to explain it, he just felt the tree talk to him.
"Are you also connected with nature? I heard stories of people who can talk with the very fiber of nature itself. I didn't think it was true, but it's also another reason I really love Grass type Pokemon." Gardenia seemed like a giddy person, however Gedeon could see that she had a very troubling past.
"I wouldn't say I'm connected….but i think because i grew up in a forest that my senses to the very core of nature are more prominent." Gedeon elaborated on the matter. He didn't know why himself, but he had a feeling his grandfather left a lot of things out.
Like for instance, what actually happened to his parents?
Gedeon was old enough to question these, it's another reason why he stopped his journey to travel and investigate certain matters. But right now he had to investigate the Pokemon that were harming their trainers. What Susanoo also said was also lingering in his mind, could this mysterious legendary pokemon be back? Could it disrupt the very flow of nature?
"Gedeon, Looker, let's do this tomorrow, you both look fatigued." Gardenia suggested, getting thankful looks from both Gedeon and Looker.
-Next Day-
The next morning, Gedeon awoke earlier than everyone to study. He was currently reading a book about Sinnoh's past, called Legends: Arceus. And sadly it didn't give him any clues on the Serpent legendary pokemon, but it did give him ideas on how Giratina could be a key helper in fighting that beast. Gedeon was weak as is right now, he had no sort of outworldly powers like the entity in his head, he only had his brains.
Brushing his teeth, Gedeon looked at the mirror and noticed that he looked quite tired, ok maybe that was an understatement, he was tired. He couldn't bring himself to be optimistic about things. This was his fault however, he was the one who decided to try and help save the world and not take time to enjoy his youth. He was 18 years old, yes, but he felt like he was older than that and thus, time felt faster to him. He was going to change that however, he didn't want to end up isolating himself.
Gedeon walked to the dresser in his room and pulled out his outfit, a black sleeveless shirt, black pants and green shoes and a green trench coat, with his pokeballs inside the coat. The young adult decided to cut his hair into a fade like style, the side of his hair was black now, with the center being a leaf green color.
This was a new case, meaning a new Gedeon.
An hour later, Gedeon was at the first site, he looked around at the Palkia and Dialga statue and was quite impressed at how at different perspectives you can depict either or. The young adult noticed the lack of Pokemon in the city as well. He knew most Pokemon liked the city, but it was vacant, completely dull. This irked Gedeon a bit.
"Hm, this is depressing." Gedeon saw something light up a bit near a building towards the end of the city. He did what any other person would do.
Walk towards the shining light.
Upon reaching his destination, Gedeon was now at an Alleyway. Again. It was always the Alleyways. With a step, The young adult walked down the dark path. And like three years ago, there was blood on the walls, however this time, it looked like a message. A creepy message.
He Has Returned.
"Susanoo…."
'Yeah, i'm most definitely certain the beast has returned, it seems this time his overwhelming ability has reached the minds of not only pokemon, but humans as well. Be on guard, kid.' Susanoo warned and confirmed Gedeon's suspicions.
"This is troubling….."
Not long after, Looker appeared, heeding Gedeon's call. When Looker came upon the scene, he was sick to the point he vomited. Gedeon could blame him, this wasn't something anyone could see and not cringe to death.
"So, we have two more bodies and one Pokemon this time." Gedeon noted.
"Yes, it seems so. A Pokemon this time, this is….sickening." Looker inspected the walls, noticing the blood was still quite fresh. "I'll call up Officer Jenny to get a forensics team here."
"Good choice, I'll do some investigating in the shadows, not everything can be done in the light. I'll inform you if anything pops up." Gedeon said walking away from the scene. Unknown to him, his eye color was a deep gold color.
-End-
Whew, this is finally done, a lot of things happened this chapter.
First we get to see a now, 18 year old Gedeon, which indicates the timeskip and how he changed and some glimpse at his hardships. His friendship with Skyla, what happened to his old pokemon, a look at his new team, and how much he loves studying. The Introduction of Cyrus and the Team galactic admins. And some more plot heavy stuff.
Gedeon and Cyrus are similar to Kiritsugu Emiya and Kirei Kotomine now that I think about it.
If anyone is wondering, Susanoo is supposed to be similar to the actual God in Japanese Myth. The Serpentine beast is a complete Fakemon I'm working on. It's the main villain of the first arc that is happening right now.
We'll get some lore about Gedeon's family in the upcoming chapters. If you didn't notice, I'm hinting at a special clan. Gedeon is just very uninformed about it.
Next chapter I hope to have out within a week, until then, be safe and healthy!
