AN: Yo! Welcome back to chapter 8 of the story. I hope everyone is enjoying it so far, remember to review and tell me your thoughts and possible suggestions for the future and don't forget i'm also accepting OCs.
I just ask that you put everything about them, goals, partner pokemon and affiliation.
With that said, let's get on with the chapter!
-Start-
"So this is what father wanted, heh." Almina moved her head from side to side, scanning the contents in which Gedeon successfully sent her.
"Lady Almina, that's a..."
"Correct. A Master Ball. To think such a rare and crafty tool could be made so easily." Almina spun the purple pokeball in her hands, her smile growing.
"It's said to capture anything without fail...what will you catch with it?"
"Well Samanda. I'll look for a legendary Pokemon." Almina sat up from her seat.
"I assume that Gedeon will be in Sinnoh in search of one, correct?" Samanda asked, wanting to inquire more information.
"He wishes to meet Darkrai, there's no better place than Sinnoh, as well as some others. It will aid him in learning how to control his hidden potential." Almina looked at the countless Master Balls in front of her and wondered what she'd do.
"I want these hidden, take them to my house in Humilau City."
"Understood my lady!" Samanda rushed out, getting ready for her next assignment.
Almina turned around and placed a gold coin onto a chess board. Her smile vanished and formed a frown, knowing what her father would do next. She also was glad that Gedeon departed, she'll do the hard part now.
Killing Team Plasma for good, including those old fools called the Seven Sages...well maybe six, and Ghetsis, her father. Almina knew her sister, Amanda, was a lost cause, a sheep. She'll be the wolf that'll devour that sheep, and cleanse her sister.
She'll keep all her siblings safe, at the exchange of her own life. Almina looked out her luminous looking window and stared out into the lush forest. A visage of five children ran through the grass, all wearing jovial expressions.
"I...miss those days." Almina then saw Gedeon appear out of nowhere. He was like a spirit that couldn't properly pass to heaven, stuck in purgatory. She didn't like using him as a pawn, however he stems from a family that could make allies with legendary Pokemon.
This was the only way to ensure the death of her father and his plans.
"I just hope my next move is checkmate."
Present
"Very good, this is even better than fighting the champion. A living Alexander, this is amazing." The crazed man spoke with glee, his face couldn't be seen, but you can tell he was smirking crazily.
"Sobek, are you ready for this?" Gedeon spoke to his Krookodile, who snapped its jaws, making crunching sounds. This got Gedeon to smirk, which was the first sign of expressions seen by the others.
"Garchomp, use Dragon Rush." The cloaked man ordered, waving his hand.
The large bipedal land shark lunged, with a mighty spring of it's foot, the Garchomp was covered in draconic energy as it made its way towards Krookodile. Gedeon and Krookodile smirked at the predictable choice of attack.
"Evade with Dig!." Krookodile jumped a few inches in the air before burying itself into the ground. The Garchomp stopped it's attack and looked around snarling, drool could be seen dripping from the edges of its lips.
Krookodile appeared behind the Garchomp, only to miss as Garchomp moved it's body to the left and slammed it's right arm fin into Krookodile's back, slamming it into the ground. Krookodile rolled over quickly to avoid getting stomped on. The ground broke as Garchomp kept slamming it's foot onto the ground, trying to inflict serious damage on the Krookodile.
"Oh! This is a swifty one. Garchomp, jump back and use Iron Head."
"Krookodile, counter with Dragon Claw!"
Garchomp once again was on its way towards Krookodile, seemingly faster this time, Krookodile's claws extended and glowed a blueish green with a swipe, it blocked Garchomp's attack. Krookodile and Garchomp pushed each other back and continued to lash out on each other. However Garchomp gained the upper hand and slapped Krookodile in the snout.
This only angered Krookodile, which proceeded to strike again with Dragon Claw hitting Garchomp's star shaped mark on its snout as well, which caused the land shark to growl in annoyance.
"I see, Garchomp also gets faster as it continues to fight, Calamity-eyed Pokemon have special abilities that unlock in the midst of battle." Gedeon theorized.
"You were testing a theory!" Looker asked with his mouth agape in awe. Gedeon nodded from his position.
"Yes, I found it odd that Gyarados used a move that isn't known, so I had to guess each Calamity-eyed Pokemon has some sort of hidden power unlocked exclusively to them. Which makes this much more troubling." Gedeon explained to Looker.
"Still, it's quite reckless, it is only a theory." Cynthia voiced, which Gedeon nodded to as well.
"I'm reckless by nature, and so are my pokemon, which is why I'm not worried."
"Such an odd one….." Diantha muttered.
"The odd ones are always attractive." Malva said, which Caitlin heard and scowled low.
"Sobek, let's kick this up." Krookodile shook its head vigorously to shake away any fatigue it felt. Garchomp copied it's movements as well and shook off it's fatigue.
"This is quite fun, wouldn't you agree, Alexander?"
"Let's just continue, I need to take you into custody." Gedeon dismissed cracking his neck. Krookodile copied as well and both pokemon and trainer grinned. Gedeon's eyes shone gold, which the cloaked man took notice of.
'His eyes are glowing now….it can't be….this is what the boss warned me of! Damn.'
"Sobek, use Dragon Claw!"
"Dragon Rush!" Both pokemon ran at each other and clashed. However Krookodile parried Garchomp to the side and slammed it's free left hand into its back, however Garchomp recovered and went for a Flamethrower. Krookodile brought up both its hands and slashed the flames away.
"Crunch!"
"Dodge then strike with Iron Head." Garchomp swiftly avoided the dangerous jaws of destruction and bashed it's silvery polished head into Krookodile's left rib area, causing Krookodile to grunt in pain. Gedeon widened his eyes as he realized what was happening.
'Is it's passive ability of Dragon Dance? Garchomp can't naturally learn it, but this is seriously not in my favor.'
'Use Bulk Up'
'But Krookodile only knows Crunch, Dragon Claw, Dig and Fire Fang.'
'Hmph, that's only modern day rules, back in my time, we used everything in our arsenal. Don't play by the law, play by your law. You're not a normal human, You're an Alexander, you may have not known this, but whenever you battle. Your eyes turn gold when your emotions flare, giving you and your pokemon some juice in power.'
'How….'
'I was obviously trained by an Alexander, I know your strengths and weaknesses. I didn't intervene before because I wanted you to grow strong on your own, however it's time I join and lend you some aid. Let's do this together!'
""USE BULK UP!"" Gedeon's body suddenly became cloaked in a veil of gold, which caused a huge gust of wind to pick up, causing everyone to cover their eyes with their arms. Looker, being closer, was even more caught off guard. Gedeon's gold aura began to morph and take shape, swirling around him and growing in size. The aura took the shape of a man with a bamboo hat and a large sword gripped in the confines of their right hand. The aura then disappeared and Gedeon now looked different.
Gedeon's hair grew back and was in a manbun, his clothes also changed, sporting a white tank top with the left side ripped, red shorts that tucked into waraji sandals. A sword made of gold aura strapped on his back.
Krookodile also changed in appearance, now wearing red armor around it's head, breastplate armor and armor around it's waist and feet. It looked like a knight of sorts.
"What is this! Garchomp attack!" The cloaked man called out in a panic. He didn't know what just happened in front of him, but he didn't want this to continue at all! He was gonna end this now!
""You can't defeat us, for we are one, let me show you what the bond between the Samurai and Lord can do! Sobek, let's end this!""
Krookodile finished using Bulk Up, which increased it's attack and durability a bit. Now running on its way to strike Garchomp.
""Samurai Style: Outrage!"" Gedeon's and Susanoo's voice was morphed together, making them sound intimidating. Gedeon grabbed onto the sword on his back and did a cut like swing that curved down. Krookodile somehow managed to mimic the exact form and style and struck with several swords of draconic energy in a frenzy.
"Could this be…" Steven said from his position.
"Be what?" Drake asked questionably.
"I've read that during the warring ages, Pokemon and Humans could somehow connect their very souls into one another and experience similar feelings like pain. I didn't think this would be possible, but it would mean that Gedeon is truly an Alexander if that's the case." Steven theorized as he watched the phenomena before him with a curious gaze.
"This can't be! I won't fail!" The cloaked man said in despair. "DRACO METEOR!"
""I'm quite disappointed that the humans of this age are so pitiful. Let me show you this technique, encode this to your memory, for this shall be over in a blink of an eye."" Gedeon gripped his sword and bent down, Krookodile jumped beside him and copied the technique. ""Yami no tengoku sutairu: Waruvialkattā"" (Darkness Heaven Style: Krookodile Cutter). With a graceful swing upwards, Krookodile and Gedeon slashed Garchomp and the cloaked man simultaneously, both falling onto the ground.
""It has been done.""
…
An hour has passed since the climax of the fight between Gedeon and the cloaked figure, who they learned was named Loka. The man was in his mid 20s and had a very cynical backstory. The Garchomp was in custody alongside the Gyarados, and Gedeon was still however in his ancient like state.
""I do believe I deserve some food ..."" The possessed Gedeon sat down with a large order of burger, completely ignoring the questions he's been receiving for the past hour.
"Uh, Gedeon."
""My name is not Gedeon, it is Lord to ya! Honestly you people lack respect and discipline. "" Looker just chuckled nervously as he watched Gedeon devour two burgers within a few seconds.
"I know this is a weird question, but….are you like….possessed by a ghost?" Steven asked as he made his appearance, still a bit shaken at the events that transpired today.
""I suppose! I'm both Gedeon Alexander and the infamous Susanoo. I am basically a fusion in simpler terms, taking in the characteristics of both of them.""
"That confirms my suspicions. I didn't think it would be possible, but it is. The Battle-Bond. It's a rare phenomenon. It's when the Pokemon transforms and looks quite similar to their trainer. It could explain why Krookodile looks like a Samurai." Steven explained enough for Looker to understand.
"It doesn't help that he could've potentially killed our suspect." Lance said, making his debut, which caused the atmosphere to deafen.
""Really? I think I did the bare minimum. I could have killed him, sure. But did i? No...i was being generous."" Gedeon's voice began to return to normal as he stood up confidently to stand his ground against Lance.
"Hmph, if i didn't know any better, i believe you went by the moniker known as Nightmare two years ago, a member of Team Plasma." Lance brought up which shocked everyone, except Looker and Alder as well as Caitlin.
"Yes, I won't deny that, but I did a better job at handling that than you or whatever your silly government group is called. To me, you're nothing but a man with a title." Gedeon countered, which caused Lance's brows to twitch irritably.
"I could have you sent to prison as well."
"That won't be necessary." Looker said, stepping in as he noticed this was gonna escalate. This of course, shocked Gedeon.
"Looker…"
"Lance, listen I understand where you're coming from...however in these past two years, i accomplished quite a lot thanks to this kid, he's an idiot, reckless and quite rude. However his heart is in the right place. I can safely say, putting him up will be a bad idea, especially after what we saw today."
Gedeon sat there, he couldn't believe that he was getting defended by Looker of all people, he didn't foresee it, sure Looker did say he had his back, but this was a bit unexpected.
"Agreed. Plus, he's the grandson of my old time friend, I can't let no harm come to the kid, even if that means stepping down from being Champion."
"Alder you too?" Lance said surprised at the revelation as he stared at the older champion.
"Of course, a title is but a title, friendship however….is much more important than that. If I betrayed this kid, I'm betraying not only my friend but myself and my morals. Surely you understand." Alder said with his usual soothing smile.
"He stepped in when he didn't have to, I say give him a chance." Diantha spoke, with Malva nodding in agreement.
Gedeon turned away, feeling embarrassed at all the stuff that was being said.
"I see, very well. I'll bite this time." Lance said, turning around. "These pokemon, take them. You come from a lineage of dragon masters as well." Lance tossed two Pokeballs at Gedeon who caught them easily.
"I won't trust you just yet, however I am interested in seeing how you grow." Lance walked away, knowing he was defeated.
"Lance is a bit shy still it seems." Cynthia said as she giggled a bit, knowing the Johto champion didn't truly express how he felt.
"I wouldn't say shy…." Flint said before turning to Gedeon. "I'm also totally fired up! We gotta battle sometime."
"Eh?"
"I agree, you're a strong trainer, as shown with your bond with Krookodile." Diantha winked.
"Huh?"
"Sorry Diantha but I don't think he's into older women…." Malva said casually, which caused Diantha to grow a tick mark.
"What?"
"By the way, can we continue talking about that form?" Cynthia asked.
"I just want to rest…" Gedeon groaned in defeat.
…
"So, the Alexanders are still around, but not much." This time the beauty known as Karen spoke, wearing a yellow top, white tight pants that hugged her curves and yellow high heels.
"The Alexanders were the first humans, however they drifted away when more humans emerged." Steven spoke with a hum to his voice.
"But why exactly?" Lorelei asked, with evident curiosity in her voice.
"My guess was that they disliked the emergence of others or they wished to be isolated." Drake theorized with a hand to his chin.
"You wouldn't be too far off." Alder pitched in. "Dagan told me stories about how Alexanders crafted most of the world's defense against rampaging legendary pokemon, like Steven said before. However he did tell me about a monstrous serpent that was defeated by Susanoo."
"Which could make the story more credible, also with the fact Gedeon is seemingly possessed by Susanoo's spirit." Lance entered as he didn't like what was being connected. "This beast is supposedly stronger than what it was during Susanoo's time as well, and if it's anything to go by, we're not strong enough for this threat." Lance said feeling quite ashamed.
"The only way to defeat this thing is by unlocking the Battle-Bond yourselves." Everyone looked at Gedeon who was now taken over by Susanoo. "I only defeated it thanks to learning from an Alexander and Lugia itself, and my partner pokemon at that time. I didn't do it all on my own."
"But how does one fully unlock the technique?" Looker questioned, looking at the entity possessing Gedeon.
"I can't answer that, the Battle-Bond can be unlocked in various ways, it depends on the person and the type of bond."
"Type of bond?" Steven asked.
"Yes, Gedeon and Krookodile bond is one forged by the thrill of fighting strong opponents and in that thrill they completely trust one another. However, to someone else, it could be a different story."
"That's understandable…." Steven sighed, he was a bit disappointed, since he wanted to learn more about Battle-Bond, but this would suffice for now. This was something he'll research more in-depth.
"Very interesting indeed. Now I have something else to strive for." Drake spoke eagerly, he was a veteran trainer whose goal was to reach the pinnacle, however hearing about this Battle-Bond was something else he could achieve. No matter how long that'll take.
"I'll leave that to the younger generation." Alder waved off, sure Battle-Bond was special. But the older man feels that should be left alone and looked upon by the newer generation.
"We can't say much about this. It'll be much more entertaining if trainers learn this themselves." Karen said with a small smile gracing her face.
"I'll need to train harder if I truly want to master the Battle-Bond, it's still not complete and it could be improved upon." The young adult was even more motivated to train, with his new pokemon as well.
"Then it's settled, we'll help in any way we can about this new threat, so far we know the organization is in Sinnoh, so i'll be staying here for the time being, i'll call the G-Men as well."
And with that, the PL meeting was adjourned.
…
A week later, Gedeon was now on a trek to Alamos Town. Gedeon heard from Cynthia that Darkrai was recently spotted there, and of course, The young adult had to take a look at this. It was thankfully not too far away from Oreburgh City. He did have to pay for a ride there, which wasn't too much of a hassle.
In the past week, Gedeon trained and more or less became more talkative to those around him. Gedeon himself noticed the change and was quite content with himself. He also managed to understand Garchomp and Gyarados a bit more. They were still distant but they were opening up. His other Pokemon immediately accepted the two newcomers. To Gedeon's surprise, Gyarados was extremely outgoing and enthusiastic.
Never judge a book by it's cover, they say.
The wind brushed against Gedeon's face, it wasn't harsh but very delicate. Alamos Town was also unique. The area around Alamos Town is heavily wooded with many hills and plateaus. And there was a Space-Time Tower that well….took information about Space-Time and to see changes on the concepts. Supposedly this was a tracker of sorts for the legendary Pokemon, Dialga and Palkia. Gedeon was also interested in that and would like to study up on them.
But of course, Darkrai comes first.
"This place sure is interesting." Gedeon was quite mesmerized by the atmosphere of the town. It was pleasant and very serene. "Now, Cynthia did say to check out some sort of Garden." Gedeon took out a pamphlet and began to read the contents of it. Gedeon placed his finger on the spot where Darkrai might be located and smiled.
"Hopefully I can at least see it, even a billow of it would be nice." Gedeon walked towards his destination with a confident feeling, knowing he was one step closer to meeting Darkrai.
…
"Hm, this seems to be the Garden...it's very naturey, i like it. I can feel a sense of harmony here."
The garden was named Godey's Garden, named after it's architect. It was discernible that the garden was built with love and passion. As seen with the various wild pokemon and humans alike walking about. However a part of it stood out.
A tree to the far end of it, straight ahead for Gedeon to see. It was quite dark, like a shadow looming over it.
"I could be wrong, but I'm sure that tree has the answers I'm looking for." Gedeon walked further into the garden, his head moving around and his eyes taking in everything about the garden, to the little details in the brick, the patterns of the flowers and the wild pokemon as well.
Gedeon was now close to the tree, in that instant he felt a very weird, but familiar aura. Almost like the time he left the forest to go on his journey.
'I can sense a very strong aura here. It has to be Darkrai. He was always the distant one.'
'Eh, You know something I don't?'
'Course' I do, although this Darkrai seems more….young. Like a teenager.'
'What does that mean? You mean the Darkrai here is a newborn? I thought there was only one Darkrai.'
'Heh, that's bullshit. Once again, let me tell you this. There could be more than one, not in Dialga or Palkia's case since there's only one of those things. Darkrai is regarded as a mythical pokemon, meaning there could be multiple of those but one the rare side of the spectrum. I didn't say this before, but you were always being watched by Darkrai, this one in particular. If I had to guess. It seems you're already worthy of this one.'
'There's so much I need to learn, I didn't even think multiple could exist. But, why hasn't it shown itself?'
'Well, for one, Darkrai's especially freshly hatched ones can't handle their powers and can cause a chain reaction of nightmares for those around, even killing people. By nature, they stay away from the general public.' Susanoo explained thoroughly, getting Gedeon to sigh.
"I know you can hear me, so I'll say this. When you feel confident enough to show yourself to me, I'll be there and be your friend as well. Life can suck, but sulking around won't make it better…..i know that quite well."
A smile formed on Gedeon's face, feeling a yawn spurring. The young adult sat down and laid against the base of the tree. Brown colored eyes stared up towards the bright sky.
"I think I could use a nap." Gedeon brought his right hand up to his lips and yawned loudly, before his eyes slid down, making him fall into a slumber.
A few minutes passed and a figure appeared out of the shadows. Their blue irises stared at the sleeping form of Gedeon and stood there watching the young man sleep. Gedeon's body began to glow violently before a visage of Susanoo appeared, stumping the figure.
"Oi, Darkrai, what're you planning to do? I can sense another one, so you're definitely not the resident one here."
"No…... .clue." Susanoo made a click sound with his teeth.
"You're better off joining us, you and this boy here are still learning about the world. And we could also use your power against a rather….persistent fellow." Darkrai stood there, conflicted on if he should take the offer to join Gedeon, but on the other hand wanted to learn more about the young adult.
Susanoo already knew the answer and disappeared without saying another word, even the spirit knew that the Darkrai wasn't ready to protect the world that rejects it's very species. It wasn't it's fault however, if humans took the time to help Darkrai, surely it would be better at maintaining an equilibrium with its powers. Thankfully Cressilia exists, but even then, Darkrai is usually much more unclear.
How can one hope to understand something if that something didn't understand itself? Darkrai's existence was one for constant loneliness and sadness. However it may be different this time around.
It just depends on how Darkrai judges Gedeon.
…
Gedeon awoke an hour later and felt well rested and energized, which was odd. He slept like a log and that was a big surprise. Gedeon barely gets sleep so he was thankful for whatever the tree's mysterious power was to have him lull into a peaceful slumber.
"Hm, Good you have awakened, It's time we get back for that interrogation." Susanoo appeared next to Gedeon in a cluster of light.
"Have you always been able to do that?"
"No, it seems after we fuse I've gained access to more abilities. Although it appears I'm only visible to you."
"How…" Gedeon looked away from the spirit and looked to see people looking at him as if he was crazy. "Oh…."
"Anyway, let's head to Eterna City." Gedeon moved his right arm up close by his mouth and yawned.
…
"Loka tell us….who exactly is behind this? Who's your leader?" In a room which looked to be the interrogation room held three people within it, Gedeon, Looker and Loka. Looking through was Lance and Cynthia who waited quite impatiently for the crazed man to answer.
"Ha! Even if I were to say something, it won't stop Orochi from destroying this world…."
"Well we got a name for the mastermind…." Looker said as he wrote the name down in his notes.
"Orochi….the name is quite familiar." Gedeon said as he scratched his head, feeling like something was nagging him at the back of his consciousness.
"I suppose ya might! After all, Alexanders and Orochi's family name are bitter enemies." Loka cracked a smirk as he saw the expressions on everyone's face. "You're probably gonna ask me for the name, well no sir! After all, the Saigai don't rat each other out. Ya may have beaten me, but be prepared for the others….you champions aren't the only strong trainers around."
"What do you mean, speak!" Gedeon ordered, feeling his patience run extremely thin. Loka's past was one of hardships, but Gedeon didn't care about that. The future was in peril and it was evident he was the only one who's capable of handling this severe threat.
"The Saigai have other members, scattered in a few regions, Sinnoh is our main base, however the others have infected the other regions, in a matter of a few months, we'll be ready to strike." Loka answered before laughing like a clown, which irked Looker.
Gedeon sat there silently for a few seconds before leaving the room, Susanoo appeared next to him and floated along. As Gedeon secluded himself, he smashed his fight hand into the wall, causing a large dent to form.
"I must get stronger, at all costs!"
Ring!
Gedeon looked down at his phone and his eyes widened at who was on the screen.
"Uncle…."
-END-
AN: Finally reached the end. So we finally got some more glimpse at the past, Battle-Bond etc. Krookodile's armor is a reference to something I saw with a Rhyperior in a red armor suit. Idk if it's from the old movies but i vividly remember that.
As i wrote this, i just noticed how Gedeon and Susanoo are just Yuma and Astral from Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal.
Sorry if this chapter felt rushed compared to the others, I wanted to get this one out on schedule, I promise next week's chapter will be a bit slower and focus on one thing. I notice every chapter so far has a cluster of things which can be confusing.
Speaking of, the next chapter is more battle focused and I hope to make half the chapter the actual fight.
Don't forget to drop OC submissions and some stuff you'd like to see for the future of the story.
With that all said, stay safe and healthy.
