Just a few snippets here and there featuring Owen and Claire. My distraction while I'm trying to work during these strange times.

I don't own Jurassic World or any of it's characters.

He wasn't sure what it was about her that he couldn't let go of. She was extremely beautiful yeah, but that wasn't it. They were attracted to each other, despite what she might claim, but he didn't think it was just that either. Maybe it was because she was top dog around here, something that his own alpha instincts found hard to accept and not challenge. It's why he worked so well with wild animals, he understood the lines that drew up all their natures, humans included. Because they too were animals, and all pack animals had an alpha and around here it was her. It was hard for him not to challenge her, and if he was honest with himself he knew that he enjoyed it. Their banter, the one upping, even her snotty attitude made him want to push her against the nearest surface and dominate her completely. What had she called him last time he saw her? Ah yes.

Caveman.

He'd laughed outright, and implied that she had never been with a real man, that the man in her previous relationships were actually her and that's why she couldn't stand him. He could have sworn he saw her eyes burn before they turned to ice. They had stood close enough for him to kiss her, but he didn't, and the air around them had continued vibrating with tension until he was called back to work by his very amused college. The raptors didn't challenge him as much as that woman did.
