Inuyasha ran towards the village like his life depending on it, but it was not his life but Kagome's that did depend on it.

Inuyasha burst through the doors of the hut "Kagome, the well is open!"

"Inuyasha," Mirokus voice was troubled as he stepped out of the only room of the hut. "Kagome is in labor."

Inuyasha looked to the doorway and then back at Miroku. Of all nights in the world to go into labor, it had to be this night.

"Damn," He cursed.

"Miroku!" Sango yelled, and he quickly stepped back in. While it was super uncommon for males to be in the birthing room, they had no choice. Inuyasha stepped back and covered his nose as he smelt blood.

"Kagome, Inuyasha is back," Miroku stated as he walked back in. He walked in just in enough time to hear one cry and to see her faint from the pain. "Miroku here!" Sango quickly handed Miroku the baby.

"This is bad," Miroku stated as he wrapped the baby up.

"Very bad," Sango said, and she pressed on Kagome's belly.

Soon Inuyasha could hear the cries of not one but two small infants.

Kagome gave birth to twins.

"Inuyasha," Miroku came back out of the room, holding one baby, Sango the other "You have to take her back, she needs medical help," He told his friend.

"Plus, it is what she wanted," Sango added.

"Alright," He confirmed as he went into the room. He wrapped her in a sheet and lifted her. "Let's go."

They nodded and followed closely behind Inuyasha. The well was not too far off.

"Here, lay on her, and I'll come back for the other."

Sango stepped up and placed the baby on its mother's belly close to Inuyasha, and he wasted no time in jumping down and back into the past. He quickly took mother and baby inside and told her mother everything they needed to know, and they had to go back for the second child.

Within a mere moment, he arrived back in time, took the second child from Miroku, looked at them, and nodded before jumping back down.

"Shit," They heard him say after a moment. Then he popped back out of the well.

"Inuyasha?" Sango questioned, but he paid her no mind; instead, he jumped again and again nothing.

"Shit shit shit!" He jumped out.

"Did the well close!?" Miroku asked, looking down it,

"Kagome is going to freak out! I dont understand it!"

"Inuyasha," Came Sangos voice. "It will be ok."

He looked at her. "How can you say that she's going to freak when she wakes up and finds a baby missing!"

Sango sadly shook her head. "Inuyasha Kagome passed out before the second baby was born, she has no clue."

"She doesn't know," He whispered as a cold wind blew through them.

Miroku cleared his throat. "You know who else doesn't know," Miroku whispered as he looked into the forest across the way.

Sango and Inuyasha followed his line of sight to see a ghostly white figure headed towards them.

"Sesshomaru," Sango whispered.

"Inuyasha, perhaps we shouldn't tell him about the other baby?" Miroku didnt move his eyes from the approaching demon.

Inuyasha looked at Sango. She didn't think it was totally right, but then again, they may never see her again. The battle was over, and the well had been closed for two years already.

She sighed. "Perhaps it is for the best that he doesn't know about the other child just as she does not know about this one."

And so they agreed. One would be with Kagome, and one would be with its father.

"Sesshomaru," Inuyasha spoke as his brother slowly walked up to them. The tiny bundle in Inuyasha arms wiggled, and they all watched with amazement as Sesshomaru's nose moved to sniff the air.

"I have a son," He then spoke. Inuyasha walked up carefully to his brother. "Yeah, I guess you do," He then offered the child to him.

Sesshomaru looked down at him. "Where is his mother?"

He didn' take the baby right away but settled on looking at him.

"She needed medical attention," Sango spoke, and the new father looked at the woman. He said nothing and looked back at the baby. Every so gently, he took the bundle from his brother and held it close "Where is she?" He asked again.

"K, she would not be in this predicament if you had just manned up and mated with her," Inuyasha sneered. As much as he hated the thought, it would have saved her from all this.

Sesshomaru was looking at his son. "I am here half breed stop barking."

"Yeah, but she ain't."

Their eyes met.

"A day late and blade short im afraid, my Lord," Miroku spoke, trying to take some of the heat off Inuyasha.

"Explain half breed."

Inuyasha sighed. "Shes down the well, back home."

They all swore they saw something flash in the demon lords eyes, something deadly.

"The well opened, she needed to go back. She would have died here," Sango spoke. "She passed out before laying eyes on the baby. She only had enough time to hear his first cries."

Sesshomaru looked back down at his son, and again they saw something in his eyes though they dare not speculate on what it was.

But it didn't stop Inuyasha from saying what he said. "The well closed already; the baby cant gets through," His voice was sad and low. He wasn't totally sure his brother was even willing to give the baby up, but he also wasn't totally sure his brother could or would raise a baby, even his own on his own.

"She is gone," Sesshomaru stated,

"And we dont know if she will ever be able to return," Miroku's eyes glazed over as he looked off. The adrenalin of the night was gone, and the magnitude of it all hit him.

Inuyasha made first at his side, and he gritted his fangs, she was his best friend, and he didn't even really get to say goodbye, and it was all his brother's damn fault.

"Do you want us to keep him?" Inuyasha managed to speak,

"Moeru," Sesshomaru spoke.

"What?" Inuyasha asked, releasing his tight first.

"The pup's name shall be Moeru." He then turned and headed away.

"Hey, where are you going?" Inuyasha asked,

"Do you not see half breed I Sesshomaru Lord of the West will return to the West, I have a hire."

"K" He lost his best friend and her baby all in one day?

"You and your so-called friends may visit if you wish." Then he vanished.

Inuyasha finally let a tear stream down his face.

A demon Lord returns to the West with a son, and a human girl returns to her shrine with a daughter.

Time, pride, and fear separated them all.
