Prologue

He supposed he was being ungrateful, really.

After all, he was the most popular chocolate brand in the world. And so far, the Ministry of Magic had never caught him. And as for the Oompa-Loompas, who knew there were other species of house-elves out there?

Still he missed his family. And especially his twin brother. Fred was the reason he had run away from home in the first place. He just didn't want to live in the wizarding world anymore without Fred. He continued his business under the alias "Willy Wonka," and still made his candy. And yet, the pain of losing Fred gnawed away at him day after day. It was why everything in his office was split in half. He only felt like half a person without him. Balancing on half a chair was very uncomfortable, but he'd gotten used to it.

He'd had enough. He needed to find a partner again. Of course no one would ever take Fred's place but he still needed someone to help him and take over when he died. If Fred could see this he wouldn't have wanted their creation, their baby, to go to waste and die away. He knew the traditional thing to do would be to leave it to a wizard, but he decided to leave it to a Muggle in homage to his father and his weirdly endearing obsession with them. George smiled as a tear ran down his cheek.
