Aro POV

Chapter 23

I walk with Bella at a human pace to the throne room. I wanted to see Edward punished, but I knew my Mate was having a hard time with how he should be punished. Her love for the Cullen's weighed heavy on her conscious when thinking about Edwards punishment. She hasn't said anything to me but I can see the struggle within her.

My friendship with Carlisle also troubled me. I would see my Mate protected though, and as long as young Edward was around she would not be safe. Carlisle would hopefully understand what I had to do not only as a king but as a mate.

We arrive to the throne room where everyone is waiting for us. Bella stops in her tracks and I follow where she is looking to see her eyes on the dais. There has been a new throne added just for her. I didn't have a chance to talk about it with her since everything that has happened. She looks up at me confused.

"Is there a new ruler to the Voltui?"

Everyone around us just laughs. This woman does not see herself clearly. She is going to make an amazing ruler I just know it.

"My Beloved, that would be your throne. Didmye and Athenadora never wanted to rule beside us they always wanted a more simple life, but you my sweet Bella were made to rule. We would love to have you rule with us."

She looks up at Marcus and Caius who are just beaming at her. They absolutely adore Isabella and would protect her fiercely.

"I would love to rule beside all of you."

I guide my Mate to her throne where the Major and his Captain take up their positions on either side of her throne. They have become he bodyguards in a way. No one would be able to get near her with them around.

I look and can see how nervous she is to see Edward. Let's just get this over with and get on with all of our lives.

The throne room doors are being throne open and Edward is being dragged in by Felix and Demetri. He looks so angry, nothing like the calm reserved Edward I once heard about.

"Young Cullen you know of the charges against you, what do you have to say for yourself."

Edward sneers at me thinking I won't notice, then he collects himself. "I am sorry Aro, I don't know what came over me I couldn't control myself. All I knew in that moment was that I needed to have Bella's blood for myself."

I can tell he is being dishonest I don't even have to read him to know this. The Major send's me his mistrust and all I can do is nod discreetly agreeing with him.

"Be that as it may Edward you still hurt my Mate and a Queen of the Volturi." I hear Edward growl when I call Bella my mate. Edward looks up to Bella and I can tell the moment his eyes land on her mark because he starts trying to get Demetri and Felix off of him.

"Ah Ah Ah Edward I wouldn't do that if I were you." I start to approach Edward to read him and he starts trying to fight even harder. Like that isn't suspicious. Demetri and Felix hold on to him tighter where he can't move anything but his eyes.

The moment I touch his hand I can see all of his vile thoughts for my mate. This angered me, this child really thought she was his. The more I looked though I can see what plans he had for her. He was going to defile my beautiful mate and drain her. No way was I going to let this happen.

I sneer as I drop his hand and turn to my mate.

"What did you see brother." Caius is slowly approaches me but all I can focus on is getting to my mate.

"Brothers my Mate it pains me to say that Edward was hoping to kidnap Isabella from us and rape her then drain her of all of her blood."

What happened next surprised everyone in the room. Edward is hovering in the air screaming in pain. You could see the cracks forming on his body while he was in some sort of bubble that just kept getting tighter and tighter around him.

I look around to see who could be doing this and when my eyes land on my mate her eyes are blacker than I have ever seen and she is looking right at Edward and growling at him. That's when I realize my mate is unlike any shield I have ever seen before.

I have to forget my anger at Edward for a moment and try to get my mate to release him. Yes he should die, but we have to get her under control and let him speak for his actions before any punishment is dealt.

"My Beloved it's okay none of us would've let that happen. Please release him."

She comes to looking at me now instead of him. I can hear him drop behind but I trust me brothers and guard to hold him until I can get my mate under control.

I stoke her cheek purring, trying to calm her down. When her breathing steadies and she is no longer growling I take her in my arms hugging her tight.

"My Beloved you are one amazing immortal."

"I would say, Bella that was awesome." Of course Caius would be happy about this. He is practically glowing with joy, something I never thought I would see before.

Bella finally looks up to me and I can see her worry. I won't have any of that though.

"Darling, everything is okay. It appears that you are not only a mental shield but also a physical shield and you can project it." I can tell she is confused by what I am saying but we don't have the time now to deal with that. We would have to discuss this more in depth after Edward is dealt with.

Felix and Demetri are holding him again.

"Carlisle my friend, I am sorry to have to do this to you, but even you have to see that there is no other way."

He looks resigned, "I know Aro, I would have to do the same if it were my Mate. Bella is our family too and none of us want to see harm done to her.

"Carlisle how could you allow them to kill me!"

I can tell Carlisle is outraged now. He turns to Edward "because Edward, you were going to rape and kill his mate. I know you very well I was the one that created you, so I know how obsessed you can get and I know that even though she is changed now you would still wish to have her and do horrible things to MY DAUGHTER!"

Edward just gulps realizing no one is going to help him.

"Well then who would like the honors?" I ask, but what I didn't expect was for the entire guard and my brothers to raise their hands. Even the other Cullen's hands were raised.

"Well then I can see we have many takers, but I think I will leave this to the Major to defend his sisters honor." I bow as the Major steps forward and grips Edward by the throat.

Edward starts yelling at everyone that he is outraged that we would do this to him. That he would be valuable to us. I can't help but roll my eyes. I may have at one time wanted him in my guard but no longer.

The Major grips him by the throat. "You hurt my sister for the last time. You will have a painful death."

The Major is meticulous when tearing Edward apart. He starts with each individual finger ripping them off and throwing them in the fire that the Captain made. He then starts biting him allowing foreign venom into his system. Which I know is very painful and excruciating is not your mates or sires.

He then rips off his arms starting with the forearm then at the shoulder throwing them into the fire. He can literally feel all of his body parts burning and the burning won't stop until he is complete ash.

The major then toes the same to his toes and legs. He then rips his head from his body, but burns only the torso while making Edward watch. He then brings the head to Isabella.

"Here you go, I saved the last part for you." I thought she would cringe away but my Mate is actually smiling up at the Major.

"Thanks Jasper." She then walks to the fire and stops gripping Edwards head in her hands. She is looking at him with utter hatred.
