Bella POV

Chapter 24

Watching Jasper tear Edward apart and burn him was cathartic. When Jasper hands me Edwards head I have to smile up at him.

I walk towards the fire gripping Edward's head between my hands and just stare at him for a few minutes.

How did we get to this place. The Edward I thought I knew was not the vampire that came back to Volterra and tried to drain me. The Edward I thought I knew would've never hurt me. Show's you how much I thought I actually knew him.

I throw his head in the fire watching it turn to ash. Throwing his head in the fire is me letting go of my past and moving forward with my future.

I feel Aro's arms wrap around me. I snuggle close to him silently thanking him for his comfort.

I turn to the rest of the Cullen's who look resigned with what just happened. Yes they were upset but they also understood why this had to be done.

Edward would not stop until I was his, and this made not only my Mate but my new family unsafe.

I turn to look at my new family. Jasper, who took the time to get the know the real me, and never judged me. Alice, who even though wasn't always right, she tried to protect me as much as she could.

Peter and Char, who are new siblings to me, but I love just as much as Jasper and Alice. They have been there for me since I have met them and would always let me vent about whatever I was feeling.

Paul, who left his own pack to come with me to Volterra. I don't think I could thank him enough. Seeing him wrap his arms around Jane and kiss her cheek though, I don't think I have to.

Marcus, who has taken up the role of my father better than I ever thought possible.

Caius, who can be annoying, but I love dearly. He likes to pick on me and I love that I can pick on him right back and he will just take it and laugh. I know so many people are scared of him, even some of the guard, but he really is very caring and I know I will always be safe with him.

Jane, Alec, Felix, and Demetri, who besides the kings I have gotten the closest with since arriving in Volterra. They are some of the most intimidating guard members around but they are always willing to take time out of their duties to hang out with me.

Aro, my mate, I never thought I could love someone as much as I love him. He has been so amazing to me and honestly he is everything I could've asked for in a mate.

Looking around at my family I realize I have finally found where I belong.
