"Go ahead and take any table you'd like." The girl at the greeting area said.
"Fancy place for breakfast." Chloe commented.
"They advertised allowing Pokémon, I thought we'd try it." Ash said.
"Yeah and it's not just limited to smaller Pokémon, look over there." Goh said pointing off in the distance.
At an outside table, they could make out a Decidueye, and a Blaziken.
"That's incredible!" Chloe exclaimed.
"You've seen both of those species, several times." Goh pointed out.
"Yes, but it's rare to see them in Kanto." Chloe said. "Do you think they were caught here Ash. Ash?"
"Hey Ash, are you okay?" Goh asked, waving a hand in front of his face. "Great, he's broke again."
"What do you think Pikachu?" Ash asked.
Pikachu sniffed the air, it was full of delicious scents, but there were two strong and familiar scents.
"Pika!" Pikachu exclaimed running towards the table, jumping into one of the trainers' laps.
"I knew it!" Ash said running outside towards the table.
"We can never just get something to eat, he always runs into someone he knows." Chloe sighed.
"Hey Ash, long time no see." May said.
"What're you doing here?" Hau asked.
"I live here in the city. What are you doing here?" Ash asked.
"Serena asked me to stop by." May said bluntly.
"Pikaboo." A little girl said.
"Oh please tell me that's not." Ash began.
"Ash! No! We wouldn't, we didn't, we're not!" May tried to defend.
"Relax, she's my cousin. Turns out I have an Uncle here in Kanto, and we decided to make a trip out of it." Hau explained.
"How did you think it was ours?" May asked.
"You two did disappear for a year a few years back." Chloe said.
"Chloe, you're looking well." May said sharply.
"Good to see you haven't ruined your figure eating out so much May." Chloe said with anger, before both broke into a laughing fit.
"Am I missing something?" Goh asked.
"Remember during the Wallace Cup, when they fought over that honey. Well that happened a few more times, but after a while they started sharing recipe ideas, add Serena into the mix and, I ate like a king that week." Ash said.
"We both did." Hau said.
"But let's back up, Serena asked you to check up on me? Why?" Ash asked.
"You were in the hospital for a week." Chloe pointed out.
"You kinda went crazy when she first left." Goh added.
"I'm doing better." Ash defended.
"On which part?" Chloe asked, poking him in the ribs.
"Ow! Careful, I got hit with a medicine ball earlier." Ash said. "I'm still not sure how my Pokémon got one."
"Didn't the doctor tell you no binders? So instead you take a medicine ball to the gut?!" Chloe scolded.
"Wasn't my idea, and yes they did." Ash said.
Why isn't he allowed a fancy folder?" Hau asked May.
"I'll explain that later sweetie." May said.
"It confused me at first too." Goh reassured.
After breakfast
"Come on May, I've been trying something out and could use your opinion while you're here." Chloe said.
"Seriously? We just ate." Goh pointed out.
"Something different, and without Serena here, I could really use May's opinion." Chloe argued.
"Yeah sure, you boys stay out of trouble." May said taking Hau's niece. "We'll have a girls day."
"First time I haven't been included in that in a while." Ash muttered.
"Come on, let's see what kind of trouble we can cause." Goh said enthusiastically.
One hour later
"How do you have a mall that's three floors total, and yet we're bored." Hau complained.
"You're just not enjoying it properly." Ash countered.
"I grew up on Melemele, half the shops there are food." Hau pointed out. "It's amazing we aren't overweight there."
"You're dating May, you're probably eating better now that you're off the island anyways." Ash joked. "Just trust me on this. I'll help you enjoy it."
"Can we trust him?" Hau asked Goh.
"Last time we were at the mall I bought a hoodie I lost the next day, and he practically did a fashion show." Goh said.
A bit later
"Seriously what's wrong with how we dress?!" Goh asked.
"You look like you're still a nomad, and you never got that haircut we told you to get!" Ash said pointing at the loose clothes with deep pockets that Goh had on.
"Your hair is longer than mine!" Goh argued.
Ash grabbed at a few strands of his hair. It's true he had been letting it grow for a bit. In all this time since he let it lay flat, he could never set his heart on a certain length for long.
"I think I look good in this." Hau said walking out in a shirt similar to his Grandfather's.
"This is going to be harder than I thought." Ash sighed, pushing the two into dressing rooms.
"Helping them find a new look?" An attendant asked.
"Yeah, they desperately need one." Ash said.
"Which one is yours? I'll help the other." The attendant said.
"Oh neither. They're just some friends of mine, my date isn't here right now." Ash admitted.
"You're a good friend, I think I have an idea for the green haired one though." The attendant said.
"And I have a few ideas for the other one." Ash reassured.
A bit later
"Okay. First up is Goh." Ash said holding out his phone.
Goh stepped out of the dressing room, wearing black skinny jeans, a red v neck, and a grey blazer.
"Oh wow." Ash's phone said.
"No! You didn't!" Goh began panicking.
"Get a haircut! And don't let any girls near him!" Marnie said to Goh and Ash. "I'll be by soon!"
"You're welcome." Ash said proudly.
"How'd you know this'd work?" Goh asked.
"You mean how'd I know that better fitting clothes would drive your girlfriend crazy until she saw you, lucky guess." Ash said sarcastically.
"Come on out Hau, I want to see how Ash did with you!" May cheered from the bench Ash was on.
"I don't feel comfortable in this." Hau admitted.
"Just let me see! Then you can change back!" May cheered.
"Okay, just don't laugh." Hau said.
Gone was the dark tee and orange shorts. Now a white tee shirt that clung to Hau, on top of it was the shirt he'd picked out earlier, and dark blue cargo shorts.
"You two aren't ten anymore. Stop dressing like it, your girlfriends will thank you." Ash said confidently. "May, you're drooling."
"Huh, uh yeah. I say keep it." May said snapping back to reality.
"Seriously, how'd you know those would work so well?" Chloe asked.
"Look at who I'm dating, Serena is all muscle. Hau grew up in Alola, being physically active is big there, and I've seen Goh training his body a lot lately. I figured it would show in an outfit like that." Ash said.
"Speaking of helping relationships." Goh said with an evil smirk.
"Ash, I think it's time we repay the favour." Hau said with a maniacal laugh.
"Guys careful, I'm still recovering!" Ash yelped.
"Oh! I've got a good idea!" Chloe declared, whispering into May's ear.
"Okay, I'll find something. You find the boots." May said.
"What about us?" Goh asked.
"Hold on." Chloe said, quickly ducking into Ash's changing room. "There's a cute girl without a top in there, you're standing guard while her friends find a replacement." Chloe said, stuffing Ash's shirt into her bag.
"If either of you even think of turning around, you're dead." Ash warned.
"Okay I'm back." May said, holding an outfit. "Here Ash, try this on."
"I've worn shirts longer than this!" Ash argued.
"That's the idea, trust me. If what Chloe said is right, Serena might just come running back tonight." May encouraged.
"Okay. If you two think so." Ash said. "Where is Chloe anyways?"
"Right here." Chloe said holding a large shoe box. "We're still roughly the same size, these should fit."
"You're joking right?" Ash asked behind the curtain.
"Just put them on already." Chloe half threatened.
A few minutes passed before Ash walked out of the dressing room. The blue dress had flowing sleeves billowing just past his wrists, with a cinched waist, and a skirt that stopped halfway down his thighs. The boots on the other hand had a small heel, and stopped just above the knee. Leaving a strip of skin between them and the dress.
"And send." Chloe said, snapping a photo. "You'll thank me later."
"Can I change back and thank you never." Ash said idly fidgeting.
"Nope." Chloe said tossing his phone back. Serena had already replied with a heart emoji to the photo, saying perfect.
"I guess it's not all bad." Ash admitted.
