New Month! New Chapter!

Is the One Piece Netflix live-action thing real?

I've been seeing it everywhere lately, I'm praying it isn't.

I'm already imagining a wonky Luffy who stretches weirdly.

I do not own 'Fairy Tail' or 'The Gamer'

The world of Earthland was a rather peculiar place.

While buildings akin to the medieval age were abundant, a plethora of different cultures undoubtedly inspired from 'Earth' was widespread.

Entire nations like Minstrel were regarded as the 'Holy Land of Dance', where its residents exercise and excel in the art of dancing. It was one of the larger countries on the continent, mostly used for farming due to the abundant amount of plainlands and animals. The country itself landed just outside the border of Tenrou Island, southeast of Fiore.

Desierto was located far to the east, a neighboring land of Minstrel. Their society was akin to the Middle East, with robes that shielded them from the desert's environment. A trading hub for people passing through.

In contrast, Iceberg was more akin to Norwegian and northern European nations; cultures derived from Vikings were strongly prevalent in the region.

Even in Fiore, Cait Shelter's apparel is relative to Native Americans, and a variety of other guilds tend to have a unique sense of customs surrounding them. Fairy Tail accepts everyone mostly unfiltered, which explains why we don't adhere to a singular theme.

Although information relating to the Kingdom of Dragnof was minimal, it's implied they hosted a multitude of customs, and that's not even addressing the dragons that remained there. I wonder how Irene was capable of arranging everything with how diverse people were. I suspect the council is withholding more information, but that's only a theory.

I thought it was silly how the map itself resembles what modern-day Europe is.

Don't think I didn't catch that, Hiro Mashima.

"Hey, Danny! Breakfast is almost done!"

"On my way!" I replied, putting the book back on its shelf and headed to the kitchen.

A short stroll down the hallway allowed me to be greeted by the residents of said household.

Wendy was devouring the pancakes in front of her in stride. Her partner was eating the same, but at a much more casual pace.

Erza was currently occupied on the couch, leisurely reading something named 'Den of Vipers'. From what I could discern through my [Sensory Magic], and given her occasional blushing, I believe I had an idea of what it may be about. Not that I was going to comment on it or anything.

Lastly, Kagura was currently wearing a basic white apron wrapped around her waist, and for some reason a chef's hat. Given the sounds of cracking and some sizzling, I assume she's making eggs.

"Morning Danny," She says with a wide grin, "Yours will be almost finished, just let me put it on a plate."

"Got it," I responded, taking a seat next to the dragonslayer.

"Hwey Bwig Bwow," The blue-haired girl said with her stuffed cheeks.

"Don't speak while you're eating child, you'll choke yourself to death," Carla reprimanded, eliciting a moan from Wendy.

I chuckled at the two as Kagura called me over to grab my food.

"So are you the one who cooks in this house?" I asked curiously.

"Yeah, it's mostly me, but I enjoy doing it so it's fine," The gravity mage cheerfully, glimpsing over towards the pair, "Though they help me on occasions."

"I have offered multiple times if you need assistance, Kagura," Erza said, her eyes not leaving the book.

The purple-haired girl giggled nervously as she handed a plate to me, "And I appreciate it sis, but your cooking skills are umm..."

"Are what?"

"The house almost went boom!" The dragonslayer blurted, her hands waving skywards while giggling. Her childish demeanor presents itself in spades.

"That's one way of putting it," Carla sighed, leaning a paw on her head.

A small smile built itself onto my face as the residents of the household began to squabble with each other.

Kagura and Erza's sister dynamic unquestionably was the foundation, while Wendy was the glue that kept everything together, and Carla was naturally the inspector.

It was quite a unique place, one could say.

"Anyways," Erza closed her book, her attention turning to me, "Danny, do you remember Master Makarov's words from the briefing."

"Briefing?"

Kagura's eyes bulged as she seemed to remember something.

"I forgot to! I'm so sorry!" She slumped in her seat while rubbing one on her arms, "We were so busy with our talk that I…"

"It's fine really," I shrugged, not seeing it as that much of an issue, "You can just tell me right now."

"I wanna know too," Wendy scooted her chair forward, eagerly wanting to learn what happened, even a little bit.

"I'll tell you once we go on the mission with Natsu," The gravity mage said, though I looked at her puzzled.

"You're going on the mission with them?"

"Yeah, I want to make sure they're going to be alright," She stated, brushing the daughter of Grandeeny's hair, "Sure, it's a high B-Rank, but you know how they can be..."

I frowned, knowing what she meant.

From Zenbon to Kieru Village, Fairy Tail has had a fair dose of...troublesome quests.

Even without taking our circumstances into account, the Thunder God Tribe helmed by Laxus has had some unplanned encounters, ranging from weak to S-Class tier threats. The anime and manga quite literally have Team Natsu arrive at Galuna seemingly when the moon-drip ritual is nearing its end.

"So that's why you all woke up early?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Essentially. It's also rude to sleep in when a guest is awake," Erza's eyes locked onto Kagura's, her lips creasing upwards, "What specifically did you talk to him about?"

"None of your business," She declared, but it was obvious to notice Kagura's small blush deepening as she scowled at her adoptive sister.

Her sister hummed at the reaction, swiftly switching her attention to me now, "Is it alright if y-"

"He said he'll be busy today, right Danny?" Kagura asserted, immediately disrupting Erza's question, "I do recall you saying that yesterday."

Oh, I understood what they were bickering about, but I nodded nonetheless.

My Kirigakure Hunter-Nin Uniform was greatly damaged in the fight and I was hoping to have a blacksmith repair it. Or better yet, maybe find something better, but I doubted that.

Most armors weren't exactly what I was looking for, mostly impart due to the sheer quantity of [Common] types. While the occasional [Uncommon] would show up, they never had a great Status Effect like mine had.

A 5% damage reduction? That was remarkably good, from what I've seen of course.

"I plan to commission my armor so it gets fixed," I clarified, taking another bite of my food, "The fight messed it up badly."

"Why don't you go to the blacksmith I do?" The requip mage urged.

"The Heart Kreuz brand specializes in heavy armor and basic clothing," I shrugged, "I'm more of a speed-oriented kind of guy and not to be offensive or anything on those lines, but their stuff is uncomfortable to me."

While the company creates high-quality heavy-duty armor, for someone like myself, it wouldn't exactly suit my fighting style. They also receive their enchantments from outside of the country, mostly in the Pergrande Kingdom as that's the hub for mages of the type, so it'll be a long while until the order arrives.

I like their casual clothes though.

"That's understandable," Erza said, placing the book in her inventory space, "I dislike the wait time as well."

With that, we finished up our breakfast, preparing for the day.

Erza informed me what happened in the conversation they had with Makarov. While most of it had been expected, I was curious at what he would be talking with Laxus about.

I helped the three of them pack up, checking on Archenemy's runes I've placed a while ago in case something was wrong, but I didn't discover anything.

Soon enough, they left out the door and I stood by Erza as we saw them off.

"Bye big bro!" Wendy yelled, flailing her arms upwards, "I'll be S-Class someday for sure! Just you wait!"

I placed a hand on her shoulder, smiling as I did so.

I've long since realized how much potential she has. The little sky maiden was skilled enough to defeat one of the Nine Demon Gates at the age of 12 in canon, and she's a support mage. Saying that's an incredible feat was an understatement at best.

What happens when you combine a confident Wendy that originated at Fairy Tail, has much more experience than her counterpart, and could occasionally compete with Natsu in stubbornness?

You get a monster.

But she's not there yet, there's still plenty of room to grow. She's currently a fairly timid girl outside of a select few, but with time, that'll change.

"And I look forward to seeing that day, Wendy," My hand softened its grip as they trudged away in the direction of Natsu's home, "Take care!"

"We will!" She shouted, gleefully running ahead.

After a short while, the group vanished over the hilltop.

Erza chuckled as we stood alone, watching the sunrise, "You seem fond of her, though Kagura is as well."

"Oh? She is?"

"Indeed, while we treat her like a little sister, she's much closer to Kagura than me," She affirmed, locking the apartment with her key, "She just reminds her…"

"Of what?" I asked.

"Of herself."

Erza peered off at the breaking of dawn, her hair gently swaying in rhythm with the wind.

"Perhaps Wendy is a callback to the period prior to Rosemary going up in flames. Where she didn't have a care in the world. A time before-"

"-Before I ruined everything," I added with a frown.

"Danny…" She eyed me, her smile sobering, "Kagura doesn't blame you nor do I, it was never your fault."

And yet, it was.

If I had focused on the quest and nothing else, I'd become powerful enough to where all of them could escape. Although I only had a day, I would've been in a much better situation than initially.

My existence coerced them to strike prematurely, that was my theory at least.

"Maybe If I did some things differently, then you all could've-"

The requip mage swiftly smacked the back of my head.

"If you hadn't shown up, not only would Simon have been missing, but all of us," She explained while glaring at me, "We would've been captured if you weren't sensing danger."

Erza snickered and patted me on the back.

I found it strange that my [Sensory Magic] didn't alert me to the attack earlier, but I suppose not seeing her as a threat played a factor.

"In any case, I believe you said your armor needs some repairing? I know just the place!"

The redhead seized one of my arms and began to drag me towards the inner-city. Akin to a speeding car, she darted left to right, hunting down the closest blacksmiths.

Knowing the requip mage and her tendencies, I was going to run around from different shops like a madman.

Oh, dear…

I groaned tiredly, trudging behind Erza as she gleefully trekked ahead.

"Did we have to go everywhere?"

I've lost count on how many shops we've entered, nor did I remember the amount of time we took in each one. I was generally surprised at their being a wide number of them scattered about, but then again, Magnolia is a town for mages.

"Oh hush that mouth of yours," She replied smugly, "We got ourselves quite a discount with the trip."

"Of a few thousand jewels," I remarked, knowing that amount wasn't much.

"A discount nonetheless."

I merely groaned yet again as we continued to march on the main road.

The armor would be finished in a few days with some added features that would improve my mobility.

Soon enough, the guild's building came into view. Multiple people were seen exiting and entering the estate, either from completing a mission or wanting to get a new one. Fairy Tail surprisingly had a lot of members, it's just that the source material tends to favor a few select groups.

"Well if it isn't Ms. Dressup herself," A voice announced from atop a tree next to the guild's entrance.

My eyes lazily traced it, though I'd already known of their existence mostly due to both my [Sensory Magic] and [Listening] skill.

Erza crossed her arms as she glared at the tree.

"What do you want, Mirajane?"

Mirajane Strauss

Lvl 47

An improvement, but not exactly on Erza's level.

She wasn't much weaker than Kagura if I were to guess, but I didn't feel the need to use [Observe] to figure that out.

The white-haired teen jumped down to the concrete floor, flipping her ponytail so it doesn't obscure her face, granting the world to see a ferocious grin.

"What's wrong? Are you a bit stiff because of the oh-so fantastic 'S-Class mission'?"

"I suggest holding on to that tongue of yours, lest your harpy tendencies will release itself, if it hasn't already, that is," Erza retorted, triggering a growl to come from Mira.

"Do you want to say that again, tin can?" She inched closer, her eyes staring into the redheads.

I clapped my hands several times to get their notice, "Can I just go inside, please?"

The take-over mage glanced over, positing herself a few steps to the right, providing me a clear path into the guild.

I'm glad she isn't bestowing the Natsu treatment upon me, I reckon Mira wishing to not fight as a reason. I could probably one-shot her if I tried to, but that was only a theory.

"I'll see you in a bit Erza," I gave her a thumbs-up, heading into the interior as she acknowledged it with a nod.

Entering the guildhall, I hastily had to evade being trampled on as the younger Strauss siblings burst out the door, "Sorry for the intrusion!"

"Mira we got our mission ready!" Lisanna bellowed as the nervous Elfman dashed beside her, "Stop fighting dammit!"

I chuckled at that, opting to ignore the squabble occurring outside and advanced inward. It was relatively peaceful, for Fairy Tail standards might I add, as a reasonable portion of people weren't present.

Weaving around the groups standing about and chatting between themselves, I journeyed up the stairs, seeking out the S-Class exclusive quest board. I'm not naive enough to embark on another one after the previous, I simply find it better to have an idea of what mission I'll be going on sooner than later.

The board was nailed to the opposite side near a window that viewed the wide lake outback and training ground.

"Back here to get a job so soon?"

My eyes shifted to the right.

"No, I'm just checking for future references, Gildarts," I replied as he gazed at me with an amusing appearance.

The Ace of Fairy Tail, who had both of his feet cross-legged on a table, gently planted them on the floor. A plate of food sitting in his lap as he consumed another bite.

"At least you're not an idiot," He snorted, food still in his mouth, then gestured to the chair across from him, "Come over brat, I wanna talk to you."

I looked confused, but listened to his call.

"So what's on your mind kid?" He asked as my dismay intensified.

"On my mind?"

"That's right," Gildarts flashed me a smile, then took a sip of his drink, "I've heard about the details of the mission, thought that I'd chat with ya for a bit. If you don't mind, that is."

My mouth formed a thin line as he began to chew on his food once more, "Why only me? We can wait until the others get back."

"Because the girls can handle themselves, they got each other. Gray has already spoken to Makarov by himself," His sights drifted down below, Levy and Team Shadow Gear were conversing in the corner, "Everybody has at least someone they can fall back on."

Gildarts' attention transferred back to me, "You, on the other hand, live by yourself."

"I have friends," I glared at him as he laughed.

"I know you do, but that doesn't mean you'll talk to them about it."

A frown directed my lips downwards, however, the man didn't pay heed to it. He then crossed both arms together, mimicking his legs.

"Tell me, Danny, what are your ambitions?"

I paused.

My goal was only recently discovered and it wasn't something that I'd been entirely sure about. Nevertheless, I trusted him and the guild enough to where I could reply.

"God of Magic."

The crush mage's face softened, both eyebrows lifting slightly and his smirk was easy to identify before it subsided.

"Oh? Gunning for that high-horse God Serena, aren't ya? Quite ambitious of you."

I only nodded, not seeing anything else to reply with.

"And are you doing it for yourself?" He queried, observing me carefully.

Where was he going with this?

Was it some sort of test?

Gildarts was a veteran S-Class mage, one of the best in fact; his abundance of experience handling various situations is an unmistakable sign of that. I was certain he-

"Kid, I think I understand you better now."

"What?" I bewilderedly replied as he chuckled at my bemused reaction.

"Your goal is a commendable one, it's something a countless number of people aspire for, but there's something many of them seem to neglect," His finger moved to tap against his head, "Why do they want to do it?."

The orange-haired man leaned back in his chair, his eyes never moving from my own.

"For fun? A promise? Perhaps a challenge? They don't know, those types of people lose their reasoning, and become..."

"Like Ivan," I stated, completing his sentence.

Gildarts' magic stirred slightly, "I'm not going to associate you with him, what I will compare is truly wanting something and doing that for the idea of it are two different things. I'm not telling you to come up with another goal, but find a reason why you have it in the first place."

"Why?" I questioned, staring into his dark green eyes, "Why are you telling me this?"

I was clueless.

Perhaps Makarov set him up for this?

"Because," He smiled brightly as his hand moved to ruffle my brown hair, "You remind me of myself."

That had me blinking twice, but his expression didn't alter whatsoever.

"Back before I joined the guild, I'd take local jobs for money. I was a poor orphan kid and took it as an opportunity to make a quick buck," A hand moved to his left pectoral. I knew his Fairy Tail mark resided there from my knowledge, "I felt hopeless. Nothing except a will to survive and my strength were pushing me forward."

"The jobs gradually became increasingly more dangerous as I grew desperate. What I wanted, I didn't know, but the search continued anyway. Battle after battle, fight after fight, my power developed, but I did not. And that's when Makarov found me, lying in a ditch not far from Magnolia, battered and bruised from a recent engagement."

The man giggled to himself, a reflective expression was plain to recognize.

"He led me to the guild, teaching me how to regulate my magic, and offered permanent residence if I joined. After that, well...the rest was history."

Gildarts placed a hand on my shoulder.

"What I'm trying to say is you should find out why you want something rather than simply doing it. Just look at me, the greatest gentleman ever."

"You mean the most well-known womanizer in Ishgar?" I retorted, prompting the crush mage's eye to twitch violently.

"Gentleman, but I've spoken enough, the rest is for you to decide," He stood up, stretching his body, patting me once more with a smile then began going down the stairs.

I sat there, not knowing what to do.

To be the God of Magic was a goal I've come up with recently, but Gildarts does state a valid point.

Was I just doing that for the sake of it or for myself?

Kagura's right. I don't need an answer now, that's something I'll figure out somewhere down the line.

My thoughts ceased as I noted that Gildarts had forgotten something behind. It was a piece of paper, face-down on the table. I curiously flipped it over, regarding the brand of paper used for S-Class missions specifically, but this was slightly different than the others.

100 YEAR QUEST

HUNTING

GUILD: MAGIA DRAGON

AREA: VALERIA REGION, GUILTINA

Information and rewards on the mission will be discussed at the designated location.

Note: You will need this in order to find the guild.

I ogled at it, dumbfounded.

This was the famed quest that nearly killed our ace in canon?

There wasn't even a description, it's simply saying 'go here and I'll tell you'. The title was just 'Hunting'.

One of, if not the most dangerous quest in the world, was somehow the least detailed.

Even so, I hastily walked to the railway, my eyes catching the orange-haired man exiting the guild.

"Gildarts! You forgot something!" He turned over as I folded the paper in my hand and levitated it to him with [Telekinesis], "You're lucky I found it when I did."

"Huh? Well I'll be damned," Gildarts unfolded it for a second, then he immediately positioned it within his cloak, "I appreciate kid, thanks."

A shrug was my reply as the crush mage departed from the guildhall. I could still observe him through the window, as individual buildings moved around the man, who kept marching along with his cape trailing after him.

The talk I had with the S-Class mage wasn't grandiose as Kagura's per se, but it was something different to ponder about.

I've learned about the man himself though, shocking as it may be, Gildarts didn't have a goal. That's what he was attempting to convey, and it's likely the reason why he travels so much. Someone as powerful as him simply didn't know what to do with it, wandering throughout Ishgar without a purpose in mind.

After all the years of being a mage, he's still searching. Perhaps if he knew Cana was his daughter, I'm certain it would change the man.

I'll try my best to fix that somehow.

"Danny! Are you up there?" I caught Erza shouting from down below, her hand waving at me to gain my attention.

"Don't worry, I was coming down," I answered back, traveling down the steps to meet her.

"Laxus! Where are you!"

The front entrance swung open, revealing Natsu with an exhausted Wendy, and Kagura who looked irritated right behind him.

"Where is that bastard!"

"I'm pretty sure he's near the Eastern Forest, by the plains area," Someone mentioned, causing Natsu to bolt out the door with Happy following in pursuit.

I strolled over to the group that had appeared.

"So what's up with him?"

"I told Natsu that Laxus was a dragonslayer, and well..." Kagura whispered, slightly annoyed, "We had to chase after him in case he tries to fight inside the guild."

Carla only shook her head at the gravity mage's comment, while her partner quietly chuckled nervously.

"I'll go tell Master Makarov that we're back," The purple-haired girl relayed, heading to the guild masters' office.

"And we'll be down by the new ice cream shop," Erza told her sister as she dragged the rest of us towards the said destination, "There's a strawberry ice cream cake calling my name!"

Wendy beamed, though I knew she'd long since been corrupted by the requip mage. Whilst Carla simply resigned in defeat, it was both a funny and tragic thing to witness.

Regardless, we 'willingly' marched beside Erza, following her sense of smell, as it was akin to a dragonslayer with anything related to strawberries.

May whatever god in this world save us all.

POV: Laxus

My knees trembled as I dropped to the dirt floor once again. The calluses in my hands were red, but I didn't care about that.

I've continued training in this area for quite a while now, building up my magical reserves to perform the task I've given myself. It's something I know I'll require in the future, especially considering how the last mission I was on went.

Standing up for what seemed like the thousandth time, my hands clasped together tightly, while rejecting the urge to use [Lighting Magic] or anything of that nature. I steadied my breathing, focusing on conjuring magic in its purest form. The heat exuding from within my hold gradually climbed, and I perceived that as a sign to slowly loosen the grip I had on it, letting the smoldering light shimmer between my palms.

Amidst glowing yellow light, delicately flickering within my grasp, I called upon the spell.

"[Fairy L-]"

The moment I tried to exude it outward, my body screamed in denial, driving me to the ground anew. The spell itself shattered, causing my body to skid across the soil.

"Dammit! I was so close!" I roared, slamming my fist into the earth, "Why?! Why did I fail?!"

The first master, Mavis Vermillion, altered and improved the spell so that users wouldn't suffer from its side effects. However, she noted that this magic is meant to only be used for a singular target. Based on the notes she left behind, it states that the more people the user uses it on, the decrease in their lifespan will reduce accordingly, and in the worst circumstances can cause death to the caster.

Requirements for the supposed spell, excluding how to perform it, were to be a member of Fairy Tail and to have...conviction?

What the hell does that even mean?

I scoffed in annoyance, placing the book within my coat as my enhanced senses picked up a familiar scent.

"Laxus."

My eyes trailed over the Thunder God Tribe...my tribe, who stood patiently on the dirt path.

"What is it Freed?"

"Master Makarov requires you in his office, he says it's urgent," The green-haired mage stated in a monotone voice.

I sighed, knowing the old man would want to speak with me eventually.

"Fine. I'll head there now," I'd rather have the chat with him now than him chastising me later, "The rest of you work on your teamwork, we need to coordinate our attacks better."

"Of course Laxus!" They spoke in unison as I headed for the guild.

The group can handle themselves, I don't need to coerce them to do things every time.

"Laxus! I know you're close!" A voice I've acquainted myself with for some time, much to my displeasure, had bellowed. My enhanced hearing catching running footsteps speeding to my vicinity. Even someone with half a brain would recognize it, "There you are!"

The pink-haired simpleton glared at me and his flying pet looked nervous.

"What do you want Natsu? I'm busy."

"You bastard! Why didn't you tell me you were a dragonslayer?!" He roared, lighting both of his hands on fire, "Where's Igneel?!"

A groan escaped my lips.

I knew this conversation would be inevitable, but I didn't have time for it right now, "First of all, I don't need to tell you anything. Secondly, I have no idea where your imaginary dragon dad is."

His anger had sharpened, if the magic he was letting off was something to go by.

"You've been holding back! Fight me like you mean it!" The resident blockhead charged forward with his arm pulled back, "[Fire Dragon's Ir-]"

I didn't give him the pleasure, ramming my fist onto the top of his head, sending the brat into the ground.

"Make sure he doesn't do anything else stupid," I commanded, side-eyeing the blue cat who nodded rapidly.

I continued on the trail, not paying heed to Natsu's pained anguish. Soon enough, The guild came into view while each member proceeded to move out of the way as I knocked on my grandfather's office door.

"You can come in, Laxus."

The door opened, revealing the elderly man looking through a collection of documents.

"Don't mind me, just getting some last-minute paperwork done," He said, using his [Wind Magic] to set them neatly on a shelf, "Have a seat, my boy."

I did as he instructed, sitting on one of the unoccupied chairs opposite from him.

"Now then, how are you doing? Is everything with the tribe going well?"

I lifted an eyebrow at his nonchalant attitude, but I responded anyway, "It's fine, nothing to worry about."

"That's good to hear," He smiled, grabbing onto a blank sheet of paper, "Anything else you want to talk about? Perhaps some tea?"

"No."

The Wizard Saint paused for a moment, frowning somewhat as he shifted in his seat, "I see...very well then. I suppose we should get right down to business."

My arms crossed together while waiting to hear what the old man had to say.

"The mission regarding Kieru Village was, as you know, a trap. The council has agreed to pay for the mission to everyone involved. I've already heard the children's side of the story with what happened, yours, however, is vacant."

A frown crossed my lips as I stared into my grandfather's eyes, "Why does it matter? I wasn't even there for most of it."

"While that is true, I've been informed that you were speaking with...him," He retorted, his serious manner stood at the forefront, unwavering, "What did he say to you, Laxus?"

Oh, so this was what he wanted.

I held myself back from snarling, "It's funny."

The old man's eyebrows furrowed as he stared, waiting for me to continue.

"It's funny how when I ask about my dad, you dismiss it saying it's for 'my protection'," My right hand clenched onto the table, provoking small splinters to begin forming as I applied more pressure, "But when you do, it's a demand."

Why?

Why can't he just show me some damned respect?

"Laxu-"

"Don't you dare 'Laxus' me," I interrupted with a growl as my muscles tensed, "My dad is a shitty man, I know now! But I learned that not through your mouth, but with my own eyes!"

I slightly leaned forward, loathing was the only thing evident in my appearance.

"And do you want to know what he said? He told me that you've been deceiving and hiding a secret from everyone. A secret you don't want anyone to find out."

Makarov became horrified as he now realized what I'm implying, "He told you…"

"Yes, he did," My disgust was at an all-time high, but I endured and resumed, "Not telling me why my dad left the guild is one thing, deceiving everyone, well, that's another."

The third master of Fairy Tail slumped in his chair, a remorseful expression was plain to see, "Laxus, I never planned to-"

"Save it. I think we're done here, old man." I stood up from my seat, not bothering to look back, and left the room.

The guild members once again moved aside as I walked through the guildhall.

Many would deduce I resented my grandfather because of our conflicting views. They'd be very wrong. I didn't dislike the man himself, because I knew he's always been seeking to do what's right. It's his methods that cause disagreements.

Why can't he be more upfront with me?

The responsibility of being a guild master was to be truthful to everyone, even if it would cause discomfort, lest the pain grows further and fester into something else. It was to additionally ensure that we all could attain our maximum potential. Instead, they go around destroying things without remorse, and the old man doesn't seem bothered.

It was beyond a nuisance and was a remedy that demanded to be fixed.

I hiked down the pathway leading back to where the Thunder God Tribe were working on their magic.

"Laxus!" Bickslow uttered, slightly surprised as he turned to me, "We didn't think you'd be here so soon."

"The old man just wanted to have a little chat, that's all," I casually replied as my eyes roamed between the three of them, "Listen up, we're going to be doing something different with our training from now on."

"What do you mean?" Evergreen questioned while adjusting her glasses.

"While the pace you're all going at is fine before, I'll need you to pick it up for what I have in mind," I announced as they stared confused, "Don't worry though, I'll make sure you all get into tip-top shape."

I cracked my knuckles together, watching them gulp as [Lightning Dragonslayer Magic] bulked my body up.

They needed to be stronger, much stronger for the goal I had in mind.

'I wasn't aware you became Makarov's lapdog?'

My muscles swelled as I poured more magic into it.

'You've grown into a powerful mage, perhaps that lacrima wasn't a waste'

The lightning I summoned sputtered around my body, as a familiar yellow glow engulfed me.

'I'm certain your mother would be proud'

The electricity emanating from me started to release sporadically, crashing into the dirt, leaving tracks of hollowed soil. My eyes steadily shifted to them, a frustrated frown on my face.

"Let us begin."

Writing these slowed down is really refreshing compared to the action-packed ones, though I enjoy them as well.

I always wanted to write a moment with Danny and Gildarts.

While Danny has a goal, he simply came up with it on the spot.

Did he truly want it, or was he just using that as a way to say, "Hey, here's what I want, now stop asking me"?

Laxus coming to the same conclusion as his counterpart, but through different means was an interesting thing to play with. He cares for the guild, in his own way. It's why Fairy Law didn't work in the Battle Of Fairy Tail Arc.

Anyway, do you want to view the stats of both Earthland's Gamer and A Vegetables Playthrough?
