Chapter 1:

It was just after the Tri-Wizard tournament. Harry sat in the hospital wing all alone. The only sound he could hear was the rain pouring down in the night sky.

He had tried to fall asleep, but couldn't. He just kept thinking about Cedric and Voldemort and... well, everything that had happened.

He knew that it wasn't his fault. But he just kept blaming himself for Cedric's death. Maybe if he had just taken the stupid trophy instead of having both of them take it. Maybe Cedric would've been alive. But would that mean that Harry would be dead? He didn't want to think about it.

It was a scary thought that if he hadn't done exactly what he had done, then he would be dead.

Stop it, Harry.

This won't make anything better.

Just think of something to distract you for a little bit so you can fall asleep.

His mind immediately thought of Hermione. Ever since the Yule Ball, he had slowly stopped crushing on Cho and started having feelings for Hermione. He smiled just thinking about her and fell into a deep sleep.

The next morning he woke up with Ron and Hermione sitting in chairs next to his bed.

"Harry?" Hermione asked.

Harry opened his eyes fully. Ron and Hermione both had worried looks on their faces, but as soon as they saw him open his eyes, the worries every so slightly vanished.

"Oh, Harry! I was so worried about you," Hermione said. "It's well passed noon and Ron and I have been in here all day. Sirius, Fred, George, Dumbledoor, Mrs. Weasley-"

"I think he gets it, 'Mione," Ron said.

Harry and Hermione stared at him. From what Harry could remember, Ron had never called her that. Hermione seemed to be thinking that, too.

"Since when-?" Hermione asked.

"Oh, who cares?" Ron asked.

Harry rolled his eyes. "It's noon?"

"Way after noon, Harry," Ron said. "It's almost dinner."

Harry paused. He had been asleep for over 12 hours. That was a very, very long time.

"Then why did Hermione say 'well passed noon'?"

"She likes to use extra words," Ron said.

Hermione fake laughed. "Seriously, Harry. Would you like us to bring you dinner or something?"

"Oh, Hermione, you don't have to do that," Harry said.

"Yes, we do," Ron said. "You've been through hell and back. You deserve to have dinner brought to you."

Harry sighed. "Fine."

Hermione jumped up. "We'll go get it for you. Meanwhile, there's someone here who wishes to see you," Hermione said.

Hermione opened the door and a big black dog with a paper in his mouth came barrelling in. When the dog reached the bed, he went back into his human form of Sirius Black, still with the paper in his mouth. Sirius took it out of his mouth and rolled his eyes.

"Gosh, I wish it would just transfer to my hands," Sirius said.

"Sirius!" Harry said. He tried to get out of his bed to hug him, but Sirius pushed him down gently.

"I don't want you getting up and hurting yourself," Sirius said. "You're my godson. I've got to take care of you."

Harry smiled. "What's that paper in your hand?"

Sirius' face lit up. "That is what I wanted to show you," Sirius sad as Hermione and Ron walked out of the room. Sirius handed Harry the paper. It was a Daily Prophet article.

Sirius Black Found Not Guilty of Betraying His Friends; New Suspect Revealed:

Sirius Black was put in Azkaban Prison in 1981 after James and Lily Potter were murdered by He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named,, orphaning their son. He went to Azkaban for "evealing where James and Lily were, thereby helping in their deaths, and killing 12 muggles and Peter Pettigrew, leaving nothing but a finger at the scene. But was Pettigrew really dead?

Recent developments and statements by Harry Potter has shown that it perhaps wasn't Black who committed those murders. And, a few hours ago, aurors found Peter Pettigrew wandering alone a little bit away from Hogwarts. Ministry officials revealed that Pettigrew was taken into custody and after having some veritaserum, told them everything.

Apparently, Black was not the ones to betray the Potters. Pettigrew was actually the secret keeper and it was Pettigrew who had gone to He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named's side and had told them the location of the Potters. Pettigrew was the one who killed the muggles, and since he is an unregistered Animagus, cut off his finger and transformed into a rat, and had been living as a rat for 12 years, then went back to He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.

He also revealed that he had helped bring You-Know-Who back tonight, with the unfortunate help of Harry Potter. Needless to say, Pettigrew has been placed in Azkaban, awaiting for trial.

The ministry has announced that Sirius Black is now a free man, and saw him at Hogwarts, where his godson, Harry Potter, is resting after his fateful night with You-Know-Who and his terrible death eaters. Minister of Magic, Cornelius Fudge personally apologized to Black.

Black told Fudge that he planned to talk Potter to his home in Borough of Islington, London and have Potter stay with him there for the rest of his Hogwarts career.

The search is now on for You-Know-Who and his followers. If you see You-Know-Who or any of his known followers, please contact the Ministry of Magic. Below is a list of people who are suspected or known to be his followers.

Harry looked at Sirius in shock after he read it. "You're free?"

"Yes," Sirius nodded.

Harry hugged Sirius, tears in his eyes. This was the first good news he had heard in a long time.

Hermione and Ron walked back in with their own food and Harry's.

"Should we go in?" Ron asked.

Hermione smiled. "No. Let them have their moment.

The next few days of Harry's life were a blur. He couldn't decide whether or not to be happy about Sirius being free and finally leaving the Dursleys, or being upset over Cedric and the Triwizard Tournament.

But one day, when he was called to Dumbledore's office, everything took a turn for the worse.

"You can't live with Sirius," Dumbledore said after Harry had sat down. "You have to stay with the Dursleys."

"WHAT?!" Harry yelled. "Why not?!"

"Your mother made a loving sacrifice for you. It is to be believed that if you stay with your aunt Petunia, who is related to you by blood, then the sacrifice will keep you save," Dumbledore said. "You must stay there, Harry."

Harry stared at Dumbledore in anger. He was fed up. He was angry about Cedric's death, about Voldemort, returning, that it had taken almost 14 years to finally free Sirius, and that now that Sirius was free, he still had to stay with the Dursleys.

"You're telling me that in order to keep me safe, I have to stay with the stupid Dursleys?" Harry demanded more than asked.

"Yes," Dumbledore nodded. "I'm sorry Harry, but in order for you to stay safe-"

"TO HELL WITH ME BEING SAFE!" Harry yelled. Days of terrible thoughts and memories of Cedric's death came up. "I WANT TO LIVE WITH SIRIUS!"

"Harry-"

"HOW DARE YOU?!" Harry yelled. "I HATE THIS OH WE HAVE TO KEEP HIM SAFE MINDSET! LET ME LIVE MY LIFE!"

"You have to be safe, Harry," Dumbledore said. "Voldemort has returned and now more than ever you need to be safe."

"I don't care," Harry said. He stood up and walked around Dumbledore's office in anger.

"I'm sorry Harry, but you can't live with Sirius," Dumbledore said.

Harry picked up a small rounded disk. He held it up to Dumbledore. "What's this?"

"Nothing," Dumbledore said. "Put it down."

Harry noticed a small opening. He opened it and felt a pulling. He looked at Dumbledore, who was on his feet and walking towards Harry.

"Harry, what did you do?" Dumbledore asked.

"What's happening?" Harry asked. He looked down and saw his feet were gone.

"I don't know," Dumbledore said. He grabbed the disk from Harry and closed the disk, but Harry continued fading away.

"Professor?" Harry looked at him nervously.

"Harry, be careful," Dumbledore said.

Harry looked down and saw that most of his body was gone. All that was left was his neck. And slowly that faded away, and so did he.

Harry woke up in the healing center. He looked around. The last thing he remembered was fading away. Maybe Dumbledore had found a way to get save him and now he was healing. Maybe it was a dream. Yeah, it was probably just a dream.

Suddenly, a woman with flowing red hair and a man with jet black hair and glasses walked in. They ran towards him. The woman reach him first and ran her fingers through his hair.

"Oh, I'm so glad you're alright," she said and hugged him.

"What?" Harry asked.

"Harry, never scare us like that again," the man said.

"What's going on?" Harry asked, breaking apart from the hug.

The woman looked at the man sadly, then looked back at Harry. "Your memory must be a little busted, sweetheart. We're your parents."

"What?" Harry asked.

"It's us. James and Lily. You're parents, silly," James said, smiling at him.

Harry stared at them. They both hugged him.

"We're just so glad you're okay," Lily said.

Harry hugged them back, tears in his eyes.
