I pretty much have about 7 chapters completed so far, I'm trying to release them slowly instead of all at once just in case there are any changes I wanted to make but so far I'm really happy with the way this story is going. I hope you enjoy chapter 3.
The next morning was a blur, she snuck out of his house and down the long pathway towards the forest, still wearing his t-shirt as she made her get away. Trying hard to not think of the night before, she ran through the forest, pulling her phone out to check the time.
"9am, shit I'm going to be late and Mr. Fugu is going to kill me." Picking up the pace she made it to her crappy apartment, jamming the key in the lock she threw all of her stuff on the couch, pulling off the black t-shirt she threw on a small t-shirt, a pair of shorts and tied her apron around her waist. Tripping over herself as she pulling her hair back into a ponytail, and threw on her shoes. Grabbing her keys from the lock, she ran down the stairs and out the front door, she made it to work with two minutes to spare.
"Ah, Sakura!" Mr. Fugu called, waving shortly as she waved back and started her morning prep. In the morning the ramen shop served a small menu of breakfast items, the owner wanted the people in the small village to be able to afford any meal. She pulled the stool from the table tops and set them down, wiping down the tables and placing little disposable towelettes down.
She went to the back and waited for the first customers to arrive, she finally had time to think about what just happened. She was doing the not so shameful walk of shame out of Naruto's house this morning. She did leave him a note on the counter with her number and ecplaing that she had to work this morning so she couldn't stay.
"Oh god, how tacky is that." She palmed her face as her cheek started to heat up, "Oh he'll never want to talk to you now."
She groaned and walked towards the bathroom, she splashed some water on her face and looked in the mirror, "It's not like he's missing out." She grabbed a paper towel and dried her face.
Dragging her feet as she walked back towards the dinning room, she could hear the new coming through the speaks of the small tv, "Breaking News in the Haruno lawsuit and fraud case, five more people have come forward as victims of the fraudulent actives lead by the Haruo Pharmaceutical company."
Her heart raced as the news anchor continued to go into detail about her father's company, it's only been a year and her parents were still missing but the case against them wasn't going anywhere. She was clear from most of the legal drama because she wasn't even old enough to take part in the company until after the fraud was brought to light.
Pulling out her phone, she had a missed call from Ino and a few texts from her as well, she sighed and unlocked her phone.
Call me, I have so many questions! Sasuke got a text from Naruto that you spent the night with him and left the party with him too!
Don't watch the news, they're spewing more bullshit, if you need to come here after work you can.
Don't forget to tell me all the details, I have some stuff to tell you too!
She laughed and put her phone away, carrying on with her usual routine, she cleaned the tables and helped with the dishes, even though it wasn't really part of her job she would often lend a hand putting away the clean dishes.
The sun set, the customers came and went, their faces blurry, soon it was closing time. Mr. Fugu handed her envelope, one thing she liked about this little place is that he paid her in cash. Tucking it in her pocket and throwing the envelope away she headed home, jamming the key in the lock she walked into her apartment, and threw her apron on the couch with the rest of her stuff.
Pealing off her clothes she made her way to the bathroom, turning on the hot water she jumped in letting relax her sore body. Rubbing the soap in her hair, the water suddenly stopped.
"Oh you have got to be kidding me." Turning the handles, nothing came out of the shower head, getting out she checked the sink in the bathroom and the kitchen sink but no water came out.
Looking at the time, she called Ino, "The water shut off in your apartment again?"
"Yes, that's the 10th time this week!" She put her phone on the counter and grabbed a jug of water, leanging her head over the sink she slowly washed the rest of the shampoo out of her hair.
"You need to find a better place to live, you have a slumlord." She could tell Ino was messing with her nails while she was on the phone.
"I can't afford it, the rent is super cheap here." Sakura protested as she wrapped a towel around her hair, grabbing her phone she walked to the other side of the room where her bed was.
"Well yeah it's cheap because you never have any water, and didn't the power go out last week too? I said I would help you pay for a nicer place." Sakura shook her as she Ino spoke.
"I don't need you to pay for a place, so anyways are you going to tell me what happened last night with you and Sasuke?" She laughed and flapped down on the bed, still wrapped in her towel.
"Oh my god, I thought you would never ask! We had such a good night, once Sasuke got the text from Naruto saying you guys left the party, we left too. We went out for a nice dinner and ended up on the couch cuddling and watching a movie! " She squealed, "It was so much better than the party!"
"That's so awesome!" Sakura sat up and laughed, "So I guess the flame between you two never really died."
"I was always worried because he's so much older than me, like what would we even talk about." They laughed and talked for the next few hours, finally prying the phone away from her ear she said goodnight.
Finally putting her pajamas on she flopped back down on her tough mattress, closing her eyes she was almost asleep before her neighbors went into their nightly fight. Sitting back up, she had to work tomorrow, it looked like it was going to be another sleepless night.
Her phone buzzed, it was from and unknown number, and then there was a knock at the door. She slowly got out of bed and made her way across the room to the door, using the peephole. Not seeing anyone she slowly opened the door, there was a small envelope on the ground with her name on it. She picked up the letter, closing and locking the door she turned it over in her hands seeing if their was a clue as to who it was from.
Finally opening it she pulled out a few bills, with what looked like blood on them, throwing them on the table a small note fell out "Here's some blood money for you."
"Wh-what the hell?" Quickly stuffing everything back into the envelope she shoved it into her desk drawer, grabbing the jug of water she began to wash her hands.
Her neighbors screamed and threw things around the small little place, but even if they were quiet, she still wouldn't be getting any sleep.
