The door opened, light spilled out as Naruto opened the door, "Sakura?"

She was cold and wet, "Ino wasn't home, the storm broke all the windows in my apartment, I don't have anywhere else to go."

Her hair was plastered to her neck, he grabbed her arm and pulled her inside, "You could've just called, how did you even get here?"

"I walked." He stopped and looked at her, she was truly soaked, her hoodie was stuck to her body, water rolled off of her and formed a puddle under feet. He lead her to the bathroom, there was a garden tub and a massive shower off to the side, it was a cool blue tile with a beach theme.

"I'll get you some towels, I have shampoo and stuff in the shower if you don't mind smelling like a guy." She shook her head, she had to walk almost all the way in the shower to turn it on, the water rained down from the massive shower head.

He brought in some towels and set them on the counter, she kicked off her shoes and pealed off her clothes as she stepped inside. Hearing the door shut she took off her shirt and the rest of her clothes, the warm water rained down over her cold body. The thunder roared outside, the lights flickered but they came back on, she hurried and finished her shower. Wrapping herself in the big fluffy towel, he left her a shirt and a pair of shorts, they looked like they belonged to Hinata, putting them on she the shirt went to the middle of her thigh, and the shorts were a little big but they still fit.

Walking out of the bathroom she made her way down the hallway towards the kitchen, Naruto was in a pair of grey sweats and a simple shirt, he was in the middle of cooking.

"Since when did you start cooking?" She walked over to see what he was cooking.

"Since my doctor told me I couldn't eat instant ramen three times a day." She laughed lightly. it looked like he was making soup.

"Geez, that's all you ate growing up. I'm surprised you didn't get sick of it." She stood next to him for a minute looking down at her feet, "I'm sorry I snapped at you."

"Don't be, I understand what you're going through." She looked up at him, he smiled down at her and patted her head, "I didn't want to be the CEO of some massive company, I wanted to do my own thing and it took me awhile to find it."

"Is that why you're the head of security?" It felt effortless when she talked to him, he was calm and easy going.

"More than just that, I'm the head of the security company for every business the Uchiha family owns, I went through multiple training courses, and my guys go through the same thing before the are hired and sent out." Her eyes widened just a bit, that's probably why he's calmed down a little.

"That's amazing." He was only twenty-two and the head of his very own company.

"I built it from the ground up, I started as a normal guard, and then I worked my way up. I didn't have too much say in what the company because it was outsourced at first, but there was multiple incidents and that's when I went to Itachi and pitched an idea and everything just fell into place after that." He smiled a little, and grabbed two bowls from the cabinet, handing one to her after he filled the bowl with miso soup, grabbing two spoons he led het to the table.

"I'm sorry for just showing up here." She played with the spoon while she waited for it to cool down a little.

"Nothing to be sorry for, you are more than welcome to come over whenever you want too. Besides, I think Ino went to Sasuke's tonight." Taking a bite of the soup he paused and looked over at her, "I'd rather you be here than in your apartment or running around in this weather, it's not supposed to stop anytime soon."

"I still feel bad, you've only been for a week or two and I've just kind of barged in." she laughed lightly, taking a bite of the soup, it slowly warmed her body even more as she ate.

"It's okay, trust me." They finished the rest of the meal in silence.

She helped him clean up the kitchen, the lights flickered on and off before they lost power completely. Digging a flashlight of out of the drawer, he looked around the room and spotted Sakura, she was frozen in the middle of the room.

"You okay?" He walked over to her and put his arm around her shoulder, she was shaking slightly.

"Yeah, just over this weather." The windows didn't rattle like they did at her place, she's always hated storms, they've always scared her, "I guess now would be a good time to sleep."

He led her, to his spare room, the bed was made with nice fluffy comforter, once the door was closed she jumped in the bed and it was so much softer than the one she had at home. She was alone, which is what she wanted but she didn't want to be completely alone, she was in an odd state of mind, she didn't really know how to handle the darkness within her own heart.

Her mother was plagued with mental illness, and so was her grandmother, her mom often referred to it as the darkness. Sakura started to show signs when she was little, she would lash out at the other kids, retreat within herself and just stay there for weeks.

It's only gotten worse as she's gotten older, no longer able to afford the medication she needed it was slowly getting worse every day. It was getting harder to smile, it was getting harder to wake up and get out of bed, losing her job really sent her over the edge. So she did what she always did, she retreated into herself and stayed there.

The lightening lit up sky, she walked over to the window, she hated this weather but some times she wanted to just stand in it and feel the chaos rain down all around her as her troubled melted away but she wasn't at home, she couldn't do that here or could she.

Walking back to the kitchen she stood in front of the sliding glass door and watched the rain fall into the uncovered pool, the sky lit up once again reveling the trees around the yard. She was so focused she didn't hear Naruto enter the kitchen, he watched her silently. Ino had told him a little bit about her family history, he knew a little from being friends with her all this time but she did her best to hide it from him.

The rain finally slowed down, the power returned not long after, the lights in the kitchen all turned back on. Covering her eyes from the bright light, her eyes were finally able to focus.

"Are you okay?" She jumped, turning around to see him standing in the door way shirtless.

"Doing more than okay." She said to herself, she just nodded unable to find words.

"I thought you were going to bed?" He asked, stepping closing.

"I, um, was but I-" He putting his hand on the glass door behind her, he braced himself just a few inches from her face, "Oh my."

He smiled, he liked being able to make her so flustered, it was something he was able to do with her. She liked him but she would never admit it, she was afraid of ruining their friendship, she didn't have many friends and it wasn't something she wanted to risk.

"I can still make your face turn red." He laughed, pulling away from her, she exhaled and gave him an evil look.

"That's so not fair." She protested, "And my face isn't red!"

"How would you know, you don't have a mirror." He laughed again before disappearing around the corner.

He was one of the few people who was able to tame the beast within her, when he was around everything was quiet, everything for a split second was peaceful.

She missed him more than anyone knew.
