Naruto walked through the door, loosening his tie as he kicked off is boots. It was a rough day, there was two securities breaches, one in the main office and again in the warehouse. The rain had started again, it was suppose to do this all weak, it was normal towards the end of summer. The final heat wave was being pushed out by rain and colder air.
He walked into the kitchen, threw his keys on the table, he looked outback and his heart dropped. Running towards the door he pushed it open so fast he thought he broke. Sakura was laying by the stairs of the pool, half of her body was still in the water, her eyes were closed and she wasn't moving.
He slid and pulled her out of the pool, his pants getting wet as he pulled her from the water, the water from her clothes soaked through his shirt. Getting inside he placed on the floor, she was still breathing but it was slow and shallow, it didn't matter how many times he called her name she didn't respond.
Grabbing his phone he called Sasuke, who agreed to send over the family doctor, the only person he felt he could trust right now was a member of the family or someone who worked for it, he stripped her body of the wet clothes and replaced them with dry ones.
The doctor showed up soon after he was done, he looked her over. Prying her eyes open and shining his little pen light in her eyes, he took a blood sample and placed it in his bag.
"It seems she was given a mild sleeping medication, I took a blood sample to confirm my suspicions." The doctor stopped and looked at Naruto, "I remember her running around the house with you and young Sasuke, why would someone want to harm her?"
Naruto shook his head, not wanting to give up too much in case she didn't want other to know, he left and not soon after her left Sasuke and Ino showed up.
Ino ran to Sakura's room with tear filled eyes, kicking off her shoes and her jacket she climbed in the bed with her best friend moving her damp hair out of her face she laid there and said nothing.
Sasuke and Naruto stood in the doorway and watched for a minute before disappearing to the kitchen, Naruto was still in his work clothes but his tie was lose and his sirt was slightly unbuttoned.
"I guess I'm going to have to install more cameras and start locking the gate." He looked out at the back yard, trying to figure out how someone got in. "I don't lock the gate but i still get an alert anytime someone walks through it, these walls are six feet tall, did someone really climb them just to get to her?"
"I had someone do some digging, her father isn't just in trouble for fraud, a few of his drug trails were fake, and a lot of people died because of it. He lied and said that they were given the real medication when they were given the fakes." Sasuke pulled out his phone and pulled up the picture of a document, "The people that are out for her dad are nasty people seeking revenge because they were given hope that their loved one would survive, they were lied too. So now they're pissed."
Naruto knees gave way as he sat down, "And since her parents fled and they can't find them anywhere, she's on the hook for it all. They have no one to take their anger out on except for her."
"Hn" He handed Sasuke his phone back, he looked outside and for the first time in a long time Naruto wasn't sure what to do or how to protect her.
"If I can get back into my house, I know I can find my parents." Sakura stood in the doorway of the kitchen, holding onto the wall for support.
"Sakura." Naruto stood up and walked towards as she fell forward, he caught her, "You shouldn't be up."
Ino wasn't far behind, "She wouldn't listen to me."
Sasuke got up and walked over to Sakura, she was now being held up by Naruto, "What do you mean you can find them, didn't the police go through there already?"
She laughed, "My parents were amazing at keeping secrets, but I was better at finding them. They have files hidden all over that house, in places no one could ever find them."
"How do we get you back inside?" He asked, she knew she would get Sasuke's attention with that, he always had a nose for the truth and hated secrets.
"There's a small opening in the wall on the far backside, I use to sneak out of it all the time, it's the only blind spot along the wall. Just have to get passed the security system and a guard, they're still watching the house in case my parents try to come back for anything." Her eyes were getting heavy again, and soon the drug too over again and she was asleep again.
Sasuke looked at Ino, "Did she say anything to you when she woke up?"
Ino shook her head, "Not really, just that she needed to tell you something and then she walked in here."
"I'll see what I can do, I can probably pay off the police for a small window of time and get her back inside, if we can bring her parents back here then they'll have to lay off of her for a little while." Sasuke wasn't as cold as everyone made him out to be, he was a man of few words and a man of action. When he wanted something done he often did it himself, he was more that just a simple CEO, he was a man with power, power he used to keep his friends and family safe.
Naruto has always had a soft spot for Sakura, and that meant he was going to help Naruto keep her safe, he would do the same for him if it was Ino. Having the person you cherish most under attack was something Sasuke didn't want to experience.
"Just call me and let me know when we should go, I'll have her ready." Naruto picked her up and carried her back to the room, tucking her in he slowly closed the door after making sure all teh windows were locked and the curtains were shut.
"Don't worry Ino, she's in good hands." Ino and Sasuke said their goodbyes and left. Naruto called in to work and let them know he wasn't going to be in. He pulled some extra camera's out of his closet and started to work on setting them up all over the house and the yard. Setting a code for the gate he closed it, he's be damned if someone got to her again.
He even thought about taking her to work with him, finding something for her to do as job so she could make some money and be within arms reach at all times, part of him that he was going overboard but the other part won him over.
She finally woke up, her mouth was dry and her head was throbbing, forcing her eyes to open she looked around the room and spotted Naruto asleep in the chair across the room, his phone was in his hand, she tried to stand but her legs gave out. His blue eyes flew open as he stood up, he looked on the ground, she smiled weakly at him.
His blue eyes softened a little as he helped her up, "How are you feeling?"
"I'm okay, my head hurts but I'm okay." He sat her on the edge of the bed, kneeling down to look at her, her hands were bruised from where she was trying to get free.
"Can you tell me anything about what happened? Do you remember anything at all?" He hated to ask but she knew that it was better ask sooner rather than later.
"His voice sounded familiar, his eyes were black, but he was wearing a mask." She closed her eyes tightly, as the images started to flash through her mind, she could taste and smell the chlorine. She felt hands grab hers as she started to breath faster.
"It's okay, I'm right here." He watched her struggle with the memory, placing his hands on hers she calmed down a little and started to take deep breathes.
"He said something about my father killing his son, that's all I can remember, I felt something bite my neck and then he appeared out of no where and pushed me in the pool." He stood up and pushed her hair aside to get a better look at the back of her neck. Sure enough, there was an angry red mark on the back of her neck.
"Probably a small blow dart or something, let me take a picture of it." She sat real still as he took a picture of it.
"Do you really think Sasuke can help me get back into my house?" Naruto sent the picture to Sasuke, he looked up at her and nodded.
"There's not really a whole lot he can't do." Sitting down in the chair he laughed a little, "He may look scrawny but he's not someone you want to cross paths with, he's the only person to beat me in a fight, plus he's smart."
"In this village he's royalty." She scoffed as the rolled out of her mouth, "Shit my family was once considered to be royalty too."
"It didn't take long for us to fall from grace." She laid back on the bed and looked up at the ceiling.
He looked at her in silence, just how much are you carrying? he asked, never saying the words out loud.
