A Turian recon agent struggles to find her way home, fighting to survive against the unstoppable forces that would see her and every other living thing brought to an end, all the while battling the demons that threaten to tear her apart from within.

This is a Shakarian AU fic where Fem Shep and Garrus are asked to go undercover as fake fiancée's to find dirt on a high-rolling crime syndicate and of course, end up finding love in the most unlikely of places: each other. {M rating for language and suggestive content} This is a fanfiction. Mordin and Shepard forge a strange friendship over late-night talks, chess, and language. Also featuring several chapters exploring other missions and their consequences, and several chapters exploring friendships between other crew members (notably Chakwas and Mordin), and also features multiple still-in-development, author-created languages. Big things come in small packages. Commander Hale Shepard is proof. With a lighthearted disposition, a pistol for a mouth, and an unorthodox way of doing things that's hardly ever PR-approved, she's made her mark on the galaxy, for good or bad. From the beginning of ME2 onward, Shepard is tasked with the impossible. Resistance against all odds, both external and those whom call themselves 'allies'. Unlike the story of ME in the games, I will attempt to go through a few situations in a more logical way. Mostly canon, though with clear AU concepts in the future! A retelling of Mass Effect 2 with some structural changes to smooth out the narrative. The Council especially, but also the Illusive Man, the Alliance, and the racial governments make a lot more reasonable decisions. This is a rewrite of a previous effort to write ME2 that flamed out because of the compounding narrative problems from the base game. FShep.

Shepard has always kept his personal life to himself. With good reason. A life working with the alliance was led by many guidelines. The responsibilities, and freedoms, of being a spectre started to blur those lines. This will follow a similar structure to the game but has undergone serious deviations. MShepXTali.
