A/N: Like "Kitchen Essentials and Mishaps" this will be a series of one-shots. This time they will based on the silly things that kids say. I own no rights to the Disney movie mentioned within. Thanks to a friend for the title of this one.

The Long Ride Home

Trisha, Harm and Mac's five year old daughter, is lying on the floor watching Finding Nemo while her baby brother Matthew is taking a nap. She is using her stuffed animal shark, Bruce, that is almost as big as she is as a pillow. Harm is reading on the sofa keeping one eye on his book and one eye on his daughter. The movie gets about half of the way through, just after they have ridden the Eastern Australia Current back after retrieving Nemo from that awful dentist. Mac walks into the room and Harm's book has fallen against his chest, and he is sound asleep. While Mac is trying to rouse her husband from his slumber, Trisha has placed Bruce under her and is riding up and down on it.

Harm awakens and smiles at his wife giving her a quick kiss. He looks over at Trisha, raises his eyebrows to his hairline and inquires, "Trisha, what in the world are you doing?"

She says, "I'm going to ride Bruce all the way back home, Daddy. Sharks swim much faster than fish do, and faster than stingrays too. If Marlin, Dory, and Nemo climb on his back they will get back to their anemone much faster."

Mac replies, "Honey, I don't think it works that way."

Trisha quirks her eyebrow, in the exact same fashion as her mother does, "But Mommy, it worked for you."

Mac asks, "What do you mean sweetie?"

Trisha answers, "The other night I opened your bedroom door to ask if I could get a drink of water, and you were bouncing like this on Daddy, and you told him 'I'm going to ride you all the way home, Sailor.' I wasn't sure what you meant, but you looked busy, so I just went back to bed."

Mac turns beet red and Harm nearly falls off the couch laughing.

Mac buries her face in her hands muttering, "Oh my god!"

Trisha says, "That's what Daddy said that night. But mommy, I don't understand. Why were you going to ride Daddy all the way home when he was already here?"

Harm scoops up his very inquisitive daughter, and places her on the couch next to him, trying to find the easiest and quickest way out of this embarrassing conversation, and also mentally reminding himself to lock their bedroom door every night. Harm tells her, "It's ok Trisha, Mommy was just being silly. She doesn't even like riding in a Tomcat with me."

Trisha squints her eyes at her dad, and then says, "Ok Mommy, but if you ever need a quick ride, you can borrow Bruce anytime you want."

Harm waggles his eyebrows at his wife, "Yeah Mac, a quickie sounds good right about now. What do you think?"

Mac smacks him in the chest, and replies, "Harm! You are not helping!"

Harm smirks at her, unrepentantly. "Well if you want to take the long ride home, that's fine."

Mac leans over, and whispers in his ear, "I think I take the LONG ride almost every night. But if you don't stop helping your daughter embarrass me, your amusement park is going to end up closed for business."

Trisha hears the last part of what her mom says, and starts bouncing up and down on the couch again, "Hey, I want to go an amusement park! We can go in the bouncy castle. I'll bring Bruce!"
