Konoha is peaceful. Konoha is supreme. Konoha reigns above all else.
This is the mantra with which the Uchiha have established on our glorious village. After removing power from the pretender Sandaime Hokage, the Konoha police gradually expanded to encompass both civilian and military affairs and ushered Konoha into a golden age of prosperity
There is no council, there is no civilian authority, all that matters is the office of the Hokage- a relic from the past adapted by the ruling clan after a peaceful coup that led to the peaceful turn-over of Sarutobi Hiruzen to the rightful heirs of the will of fire, or so has it been written in the history books.
Uzumaki Menma was peacefully reading the history of Konoha at the playground as he waits for his father. Uzumaki Menma is a 12-year old boy studying at the Konoha Ninja Academy. Life is relative peaceful in the village. Everywhere, police roam the streets. His blue sapphire eyes continued scanning the page as he lazily sat on a tree by the playground.
There are no civilians in Konohagakure, a product of a mandate that came from the Hokage's office that every citizen of Konoha must undergo ninja training or be expelled from the village. Although many protested the act at first, most have seen the benefits of an all-ninja village particularly in reducing the crime rate. Naturally, ordinary citizens are relegated to low ranking jobs. Only an Uchiha can truly hold significant office, such were their birth right that have been rightfully restored after the heroic leadership of Godaime Itachi, who convinced the Sandaime Hiruzen Sarutobi to step down from office.
How Itachi convinced the Sandaime Hokage to step down from office is simply attributed to his persuasive skills and natural charisma. Any attempt to question this is punishable under Article III Section 4 of Konoha Penal Code. After restoring Uchiha rule in the village, Konoha was able to successfully annex Sand and convinced them of the might that is our heritage and every Konoha citizen is encouraged to reinforce this belief when dealing with Sand citizens.
The rules of etiquette as mandated must be strictly implemented, followed and enforced. Most importantly the caste system between Omega, Beta and Alpha must be upheld at all cost. Any Alpha born within the populace will be placed under the custody of an Uchiha family regardless of prior clans or family. Such is the will and mandate of the Hokage and the Uchiha's ruling elite.
It is said that this system has been enforced due to the natural assumption of superiority of the Uchiha genes and that the manifestation of an Alpha gene in a non-Uchiha family is deemed a one in a millionth chance in the genetic lottery and must be rectified. Such is the will and mandate of the Hokage and the Uchiha's ruling elite.
Any attempt to break, hide or subvert this mandate is punishable by law under Article XII Section-
A loud "thud" interrupted Menma's reading as a rock hit him squarely on the forehead. He felt warm red liquid drip from his forehead as he looked up at five groups of children.
"Hey trash! We want to play so go read somewhere else." Anger boiled from within Menma's chest. As the son of an omega, Menma is not allowed to fight back against his aggressors, lest he be taken away. His father has drilled it to him ever since he started school. But it always hurts him that in this society, it is impossible for him to fight back.
He has top grades at the academy, and performs well in the exercises. Still, it is forbidden for him to fight back and break the caste rule of the village. He wasn't actually an omega, at least not yet. He hasn't even begin emitting pheromones just yet. But being born in a non-Uchiha family is enough for others to treat him as an omega, much less being born to a single dad who doesn't know who his alpha is.
And so Menma gritted his teeth, picked up his book and silently leave the playground. But not before his keen ears picked up the kids' conversation as he left.
"Isn't that Uzumaki? The son of the omega who didn't know his alpha? How disgusting."
Menma couldn't take it anymore. It's one thing to bully him but to also talk bad about his dad whom he loves dearly? It strikes a cord within Menma's chest. He reached a clearing by the forest and slumped to the ground, before tears finally streamed down his face.
Why must the world be this cruel? Why must he be born to a single dad? Sobs racked his body until he felt warm hands embrace embrace him.
"Menma, there you are. I've been looking for you. What's wrong?" His father's husky voice always have a way of calming him down. He sobbed into his father chest before he looked up. As soon as he looked up however, he felt his father stiffened as red eyes meet blue.
"Menma… your eyes." Confused, Menma momentarily forgot his anguish as he tilted his eyes inquisitively. Then suddenly, he felt his father cover his eyes before he dragged him back to their tiny home.
"This can't be! This is the Sharingan but how?" Naruto, his father, looked at him with a grave expression. They are now seated upon the safe confines of their small apartment. "Menma look at me."
Menma looked up at his father, his sobs now reduced to a series of sniffles as curiosity took precedence over his initial anguish.
"Sharingan? What do you mean papa? I—"
Naruto held up a mirror in front of his face and true enough Menma saw red eyes greeting him. It wasn't the usual blue sapphires that rival the bluest of sky. His eyes have turned red, with two tomoe revolving around a central pupil.
His initial sadness forgotten, Menma stared at his reflection in fascination.
"This is the Sharingan? Papa does this mean that I'm an Uchi-" Naruto covered his mouth looking very worried and grim. "Don't say it! No one can know!"
Pulling away his hand, Naruto ran it through his hair in exasperation. He shook his head as memories of old threaten to flood his mind. Menma can't be taken away from him. Menma is the only one that remain of that bond.
Contrary to most belief, Naruto is aware who Menma's father is, but he dared not tell anyone when Sasuke left him all those years ago. As soon as it was found out who the father is, Menma would be taken away from him and Naruto would be alone once more.
"Please Menma, promise papa, you'll keep this a secret? They can't take you away from me. You're the only one I have left." Naruto's voice grew softer with each passing moment, and Menma could literally taste the anguish behind them.
Understanding the unspoken message I can't lose you behind them, Menma hugged his father
"Don't worry papa, I will. No one will know. I'll be careful at school."
Menma felt the tension dissipate from his father before his old man gave him a small smile.
"Thanks Menma. I know I can count on you." Naruto ruffled Menma's luscious black hair to which the boy protested.
"Watch the hair papa!"
"Sorry sorry. So what happened earlier today Menma?"
"It's nothing papa. I just missed you at school today."
"You big crybaby." The Uzumaki grinned at each other, although both knew the real reason why Menma had been crying. They know that they are the village outcasts. But they don't want to dwell on it any further.
"Am not! Not my fault that I love my papa so much." Naruto snapped his head back to his son before shaking his head. "You're impossible, you know that."
"Hey, you know it's true and you know it. Now let me go get changed papa. I'm tired."
"Alright. I'll call you down when dinner's ready." Naruto looked at his son's retreating back sadly. For a 12 year-old his son is mature for his age. Maybe because he's constantly isolated for having a single parent or the fact that Naruto is away on missions to support them both, whatever the reason Menma has always acted more mature and reserved than kids his age.
While there is a part of Naruto that's thankful for that, it doesn't mean that he's immune to the guilt of having to force his child to live a life of being constantly hated just because of who his father is.

Menma looked at himself at the mirror with some glee and excitement. So he has the Sharingan huh? He can't wait to finally graduate the academy and kick some ass. Even when the world hates him for his father, he can still make a name for himself with this doujutsu. He'll just prove to the world that the caste system is flawed and broken.
For now, he'll study as hard as he could so he can impress when it counts.

"You're leaving me?" His voice cracked as he stared at the dark haired boy in front of him in disbelief. He can't believe it. Sasuke promised him they'd get married someday and now he's leaving him behind.
Sasuke's face remained unreadable. "You mean nothing to me Naruto. I can't be with a damn omega and you know that. I'm an Uchiha."
"I can't believe it you bastard. You told me you'll fight for us! I fought for us! I'm still willing to fight for us! And you're just walking away?"
"I'm training to be Hokage, Naruto and you know it. I can only be with an alpha and you know it."
"Damnit Sasuke! I can't believe you'd leave just because your clan says so. Whatever happened to your promise, huh?"
Sasuke laughed cruelly. "You've always been naïve Naruto. Don't show your face in front of me again or you'll regret. Your kind is beneath me. Now get out of my way."
Naruto felt his eyes water. That sting to be honest. "My kind? I won't accept this!" "I don't need your acceptance Naruto. You can either accept it, or I'll have my brother exile you from this village. Your choice!"
It's a low blow. Sasuke knew how Naruto loved the village. Naruto slumped to the ground and watched Sasuke turned his back and walked out of his life for good.
"Papa? Are you okay?" Menma's voice woke Naruto up. "Dinner's getting cold."
Naruto woke up to Menma's voice. Naruto didn't even know when he had fallen asleep. He have finished laying out the table for their dinner when he rested his eyes for a bit. Maybe the revelation about the Sharingan have shaken him more than he thought. Still, why did he have to dream about that day when his life would change forever? Shaking himself out of his thoughts.
"Sorry Menma. Just tired from my mission. Let's eat!"

"Hey papa I'm leaving for school!"
"Alright Menma. Take care. I have a mission today. I won't be going back tonight. Ramen's at the cupboard alright?"
"Alright papa. See you when you come back!"
Menma rushed out to go to class, his eyes back to their usual shade of sapphire, the events of yesterday now a distant memory. The wound on his forehead has healed fast, just as Naruto said it would. It's as if he wasn't even attacked yesterday.
But even when he was attacked, Menma is excited to start his class. He want to learn as much as possible and become a great ninja. He'll prove to this rotten world just how broken the caste system is. And once he did so, he can finally give his father the life he deserved.
With that in his mind, he entered the room cheerfully and sat at his usual spot.
"Hey Shikadai! You're here early."
"Have you forgotten Menma?"
"Forgotten what?"
"They're assigning us into teams today."
"Wait what? What teams?"
Green eyes met surprised blue eyes incredulously. "Shino-sensei explained yesterday that since we're graduating soon, we get to experience how it's like to get missions. Just for us to get a feel of being genin."
"Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that." Menma rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. He won't admit that the stress of yesterday combined with the excitement of having the Sharingan have totally made him forget.
Just then, Shino entered the room and the class was instantly quiet. Any left-over noise were shut down at the urging of their class president, Sumire Kakei.
"Alright. As promised yesterday, you will be divided into teams." Menma zoned out the team assignments until he heard his name called out.
"For Team 4, Uzumaki Menma, Uchiha Sarada and Hyuga Himawari. Your jounin instructor would be Sarutobi Konohamaru."

"What?"
"You heard me. For our genin exposure project of today, we would shadowing the Hokage and his escorts. Aren't you a lucky bunch, kore?"
"You mean we're following my papa?" A female voice called out in surprise.
"That's right Sarada. So I expect you all to be in your best behavior, got it? The former Godaime Hokage, Uchiha Itachi-sama would also be accompanying, so this is an opportunity of a lifetime. Don't do anything stupid, especially you, Menma!"
"Hey! I only pranked once, sensei and those jerks deserved it anyway."
"Just the same Menma. Now as a bit of a warning. This is a routine visit to Sand, to improve foreign relations. But one wrong move and you can all cause an international incident. So please, be careful."
"Yes sensei!" The three chorused as they ran off to prepare for their task.

A/N: I have no other excuse for this except I wanted to make an omegaverse story. But I want to mix and mash between the old and new generations. We'll see how this goes eh? I hope you enjoyed it.
