"It is actually on the deli guy. He made me wait for the chimichangas."
Rose took a deep breath, as he sat down on the bench.
"Cool plaster."
"Wade..."
"Of course, Princess." he stuffed whatever was left in the container into his mouth and threw away the container, which hit a dumpster made a couple of cats yelp and meow.
She pressed her lips and took a deep breath as he chewed on them. She stood there, waiting for him to finish.
"Really?" she asked and he gestured to wait for a second as he swallowed it all and then looked at her.
"Yes?"
"HYDRA."
"Right. Octopus Cult." he crossed his legs, "What do you want to know?"
"Wade, we spoke yesterday about HYDRA. You were going to tell me something..."
"Oh yes. But first..." he rummaged through his pockets, fiddling with a couple of blades before he pulled out a folded piece of paper that had familiar red stairs around it.
"Can't you just tell me?" she asked, eyeing the paper warily.
"It's a list. I can't possibly name them all. You are the one with good memory."
"Right," she muttered, taking the paper will her nails. She cast a quick Cleaning charm on it vanishing the red stains before she opened it and scanned the list.
"Your glasses are new. Are they in trend now? or are you just being an ultra geek?"
She ignored him in favor of the list. Her eyes widened as she finished the list and looked at him.
"You can't be serious with this list of demands."
"I am, dear."
"Don't call me that." she muttered, eyeing the list again and then looking back at him, "You want me to supply your weapons? I no longer make weapons. From where am I supposed to get them?"
Wade just shrugged.
Rose just took a deep breath, contemplating her options before she looked back at him, "Whatever happened to your usual weapons dealer?"
"OD'ed"
"The other one?"
"Intergang rivalry. Shot dead."
"The other, other one?"
"Duckie? Oh, he eloped with his boyfriend and now has an adopted daughter in Columbia."
Rose exhaled. "Are you serious?"
"Oh yes. Their daughter, Tessa is pretty cute."
Rose groaned.
"I had nowhere to buy weapons from but you came to my mind."
"Oh joy."
"So?"
She pressed her lips. Ever since the weapons department had officially closed, she had only worked on weapons when making them for the team. And that usually just surface modifications since SHIELD bought the weapons.
She ran her hand through her hair.
"Okay. I'll see what I can do."
"Whoa. That's better than what I was expecting." he chuckled, "But then again you want the information don't you."
"If you tell me that you need one more day, I swear to God, I-"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. I'm a man of my words. I've got what you want."
Rose snorted as he sat in another way.
"Okay, so I had to knock one too many HYDRA guys to get your stuff. She gets too queasy with all the blood and gore so I won't be regaling my great quests to get your info, Princess."
Rose exhaled and folded her arms. She had long since gotten used to his weird talking habits and could care less about them.
"So this is some solid I got from not one, not two, and definitely not three but four HYDRA managers." he paused mid-sentence and zoned out for a few seconds before he resumed, "Wait. Do they have managers in HYDRA? Does Disney even budget for all that casting of managers?"
"Wade..."
"Right. HYDRA managers. Or something. It's on the UN Day."
Rose frowned, "UN Day?"
"Oh yeah, the day your team's going to meet with the UN. Your team's major strength people would be gone. And with whatever they are planning, it is huge by the way, though I don't know how huge, the rest of a couple of team members won't be able to stop them."
"Wait. Hold on. How do you know about the UN Meeting?"
Wade stared at her before he jumped up, "What do you mean how I know? Everyone knows!"
"We haven't told anyone!"
"Oh not you, no. They revealed this in The Liberty Sentinel. Quite a big headline. Bold, underlined, and in Italics! I mean to have ICW agree on something this big, it was expected!"
Rose threw her head back with a groan. She had forgotten that part. Now it made sense why HYDRA was suddenly planning an assault. They knew most of them would be gone for the UN Meet and the team cannot do much without governments backing them up.
"I presume you didn't take magical newspapers into consideration."
She took a deep breath, coming to sit next to him with a grunt.
"Whoa easy with that arm. I don't want your Iron Father coming for my head if something happened to you."
"I don't read newspapers. Of course, I didn't take them into consideration!"
She lowered her head and covered it with her hand.
"Hey, take it easy." he softly said
She exhaled and looked at him and he shrugged.
"think of it this way. You can kick some HYDRA asses royally and you know they are coming."
She snorted looking at the ground, "Whatever."
Silence reigned, both of them lost in their own thought process. Well, she was lost in her thoughts. He was just looking around, humming some song and twiddling his thumbs.
She took a deep breath and looked back at him, "Anything else you got me?"
"Let me think..." he animatedly tapped his chin, looking up at the sky. They sat there for maybe a few seconds before he snapped his fingers and looked at her.
"One of them said something about a Twin experiment. Know anything about that?"
"Vaguely."
"Ok. He said that the recent twins that were being used as guinea pigs didn't survive so they are looking for a new pair."
It was good news and bad news. She felt bad for the twins who lost their lives because of those experiments and this was a good sign that whatever they were trying to achieve was not in their hands yet.
She licked her lips and nodded.
"Okay. If that's all from you," she looked at him, "I have a job for you."
"A job? Oh my!" he chuckled, "Princess, I haven't done a job for you in...a while. So for what do you require my service for?"
She pressed her lips.
"I'm in talks with someone in Russia. St. Petersburg to be exact. If it goes forward, I'd need you to transport something to St. Petersburg. I'd go myself but I've got stuff to handle over here. And I want to remain anonymous."
"How much are we talking?"
"It's more than what you usually get paid. But this isn't solid. I've yet to hear back from them."
"And what exactly am I transporting?"
"Nothing too heavy or expensive. It has value, though. So?"
"You got my number. Call me whenever you have the deal finalized."
"Would be soon, don't worry about it." she leaned back on the bench and looked up at the canopy and the sky. "things are gonna get a lot more fucked up."
"Actually I'm counting on that. It gets boring without all the drama around."
"Not all of us are immortal, Wade."
"Eh," he leaned back as well.
After two minutes, Wade shifted to look at her. "Do you want to get ice cream? I'm pretty sure I saw an offer or discount when I was coming here."
"I'll pass. I have to get back to the tower."
"Hey, speaking of which. You guys are gonna be recruiting new folks soon, right?"
"Depends."
"Can I audition? I have great singing skills. Not to mention people-pleasing abilities. I've also worked with X-Men. You can also count the additional depression, tons of mental issues, and trauma on top." he paused, "Eh, you know what? Don't count the last one. It's not that impressive." he shrugged, "and just to be fair and open, I cannot do a superhero landing."
She took a deep breath, "I'll keep it in mind."
"Should I expect a call back from HR or something?"
"See you later, Wade." And she started walking away.
She quickly walked to the main roadside walk and made her way to the tower.
When she got back into the elevator, she asked JARVIS to stop at the communal so she can grab a little drink. All she had on her floor was Firewhiskey and that was not the optimal liquid to be taken when also being on heavy-duty medicines.
The communal was mostly dim except for a spotlight from the ceiling shining on Tony who was there all by himself.
"Why aren't you in bed?"
"I was waiting for you." he closed his tab and looked at her, "How did it go?"
"Not too shabby." she picked a bottle of some lightweight drink and took a glass.
"and how much money does he want?"
She snorted, "He doesn't want money." she capped the bottle and looked at him, "His demands are a tad bit different."
"Ok..."
She took a deep breath, "He wants me to supply him weapons."
"Weapons? Military-grade?"
Rose lowered her glass, "He wasn't specific and I'm not giving him military-grade weapons. Rhodey would have my head on a silver platter amongst other things."
Tony chuckled.
"I was thinking that we had some old weapons thrown in the warehouse after we closed the department."
"they haven't seen the daylight in ages."
"Doesn't mean they won't work. They are sitting there, covered in dust and dirt."
"And this is a one-time thing?"
"Very much so. I'm not going to become Wade's weapon dealer. He just needs to find a new one."
"What happened to his usual ones?"
"Dead, dead, and eloped."
Tony rolled his eyes and leaned back on the couch. She just stood in the kitchen, sipping on the alcohol.
After about 3 minutes, Tony sighed.
"Are we gonna talk about the elephant in room?"
"Which one?"
"Percival Weasley."
"Oh. That."
"Yes. That.
Rose took another sip, "what about him?"
"Rose, darling, this...I'm just about worried about the overall situation."
She placed the glass down and looked at him. "If I had asked him to fill in the position, maybe not. But here's the thing. He's here's on orders from people way above him. No way is he gonna perform poorly or bail out. this will work out fine."
"And what if he tells others?"
She shrugged, "We don't like each other but he's decent enough to keep the secrets. If not," she took a deep breath, refilling her glass, "I hope that doesn't happen."
Tony sighed.
"Could you go easy on the liquor?"
"Yes, sir," she muttered, filling her glass to the brim, capped the bottle, and placed it back. "Last glass."
"Rose..."
"Last glass, I promise."
"Go to sleep."
"you too." she smiled at him, "Good night."
"G'Night."
"Another serve, anyone?" Clint asked. A couple of hands raised.
Clint placed the food on Rose's plate and moved forward.
"Thanks," she muttered. "It's on the day of the UN."
They all looked at her at the breakfast table.
"The HYDRA Assault. It's on the day of the UN Meet."
"That's smart of them," Rhodey muttered
Rose nodded. "Steve, Dad, and Hill, would be gone. I'm pretty much invalid like this. And in the middle of Manhattan, others can't hold down the fort that well against the huge attack they are planning."
"How huge?" Steve asked
She shrugged, "No clue. But it is a big assault."
"So...the plan is on track, right?" Nat asked
"I don't see why not," Tony answered and looked at Steve
"How did HYDRA find out about the UN Meet?" Sam asked, "I thought it was a secret until the final verdict was out."
Rose licked her lips and gulped, "There might have been a little oversight on my part."
"An oversight?" Steve asked
"It was the headline in The Daily Prophet," Percy answered curtly, "British Wizarding World's Newspaper."
"And New York's The Liberty Sentinal as well," Rose added, "Pretty much most magical newspapers ran the news after ICW gave their decision. And since we are speculating that HYDRA is having magic's aid, I won't be surprised if they read the headline."
"And you revealed the UN Meet date?" Bruce asked
"I told it the Head of ICW. Very possible he was interviewed or something and he might have told the date." she picked the water bottle, "Either way, they know about the UN Meet and hence that's when they are attacking us."
Clint looked at Steve and Tony, "When are you leaving for the UN Meet?"
"Tomorrow," Steve answered
"I will speak with my parents to prepare for things and we will depart tonight as well," Thor said, looking at Rose. "The sooner we leave the better."
"We'll leave tomorrow too, I guess then," Nat said
"I'm coming with you guys." Rhodey looked at Natasha
"Okay then." Rose stood up with her plate, "I should be heading down. See you all later."
She placed the plate in the kitchen sink, grabbed her phone and wallet.
"I'll be down in a while," Nat said
"No problem."
It was afternoon when she received the message on her burner phone.
Deal.
She smiled. This was good.
It'll reach via Deadpool.
Next, she opened the other contact.
It's confirmed. 1 hour?
She was about to put it back when she got the reply from Wade.
Can I come over to the Tower?
She sighed.
As long as you are not seen.
Pinky promise. Swear on my life.
"How's the email coming?"
Rose gulped and simply closed the thread before pocketing the phone. She mentally patted herself for not quickly hiding the phone when Nat entered. The woman was smart. She would have figured out sooner or later that something was going on.
"More or less done. Just need a proofread."
She, Tony, and Pepper had agreed to give all the employees a week off due to 'Avenger business' starting the next day. While they had been trying to make the collateral damage nil, it's best to be better safe than sorry.
"Wanna give it a go?" she looked at Nat, holding the monitor.
Nat shrugged. "Sure, why not?"
Rose tilted the monitor for her to read and she pulled her phone to see a text from Bill.
Tomb Raider
TR: How's everything going?
R: Good? Wbu?
TR: Same old. Just getting tired day by day.
R: Figures. You are what, 34
_You are getting old, Billy.
TR: Everyone gets old.
R: πΆπ.
_So...why did you text?
TR: Can't I text my sister?
R: It's about Percy isn't it
She could picture him wincing.
R: Things are good. He's with Dad and Steve.
TR: has he pulled any stunt?
R: Not as of yet. A little cold and distant but nothing I can't handle. It's fine. It's going great.
TR: Should I talk to him?
R: Hell no. He's here doing his job. I'm here doing mine. We don't interact unless we have to.
TR: I'll take your word for it.
R: Thanks, Bill.
R: Thanks for checking up on me. It means a lot.
TR: Stop being stupid, you clotpole. Focus on your work. Your company won't run itself.
She rolled her eyes fondly.
R: Sure.
"Looks good," Nat said, turning the monitor back
Rose nodded, pocketing her phone.
"So..." Nat leaned against the desk, "any particular reason why there's bad blood between you and one specific brother of yours?"
"Nope." Rose popped, getting back to forward the mail to Pepper.
"I know it is none of my business. It is no one's business. But Percy seemed rather...he didn't even acknowledge you until you spoke to him."
Rose took a deep breath and leaned back on her chair.
"I just want to make sure you are okay with him being around. He might be your brother, but he's a stranger to me and most of the team."
Rose exhaled. "It's much more complicated than what appears, Nat. And if I had any problem with him, I wouldn't have suggested him for the liaison position. I'm sure I can handle a little familial hatred. I don't want to complicate this situation." she smiled, "I can't be everyone's favorite girl."
Nat snorted.
"I finished most of the work so Brittany won't have any issue when she returns."
"Thank you. And don't forget to collect your cheque from downstairs. I've informed them you won't be returning after the week break."
"Cheque, okay."
"Anything else?"
Nat looked back at her, "Is it war-related?"
"Nat, let it go. I'm not gonna talk."
Nat backed a few steps, arms raised. she did return to the desk and leaned.
"Your fringes are getting long. Gonna grow them out?"
Rose brushed her fringes. They had grown past her eyebrows.
"Should I keep them?"
Nat reached and parted her fringes, studied the look before brushing them back.
"Yeah, it does look good. Maybe thin 'em out a little."
Suddenly her system chimed, grabbing her attention.
"Pepper approves."
"Alright. Anything else you want me for?"
"I don't think so. I'll send the email. Oh, Nat, I'll be heading to the roof for a smoke. Dad's upstairs. So...can you..."
"I'll cover for you."
"thanks. I'll start using the patches as soon as I finish this box."
Nat just nodded as she walked out.
Rose took a deep breath as she mass-forwarded the email. She waited for a few minutes before she got up.
Nat had left already, probably to get her cheque.
she entered the floor.
"Roof, J."
No one ever really visited the tower's roof. It was technically 94th floor. she had only ever gone there once or twice in all those years, during moments when she wanted some peace and alone and couldn't apparate halfway over to her island.
But today, she wasn't alone there.
"How the hell did you get all the up to the roof?" she asked, approaching him.
Wade stopped swinging his dangling legs to look at her.
"I took the elevator."
she looked at him. "What?"
"No one died."
"What kind of answer is that?"
Wade shrugged, "Fuck if I know. You should question the writer. Pretty sure she's quite high right now."
Rose just ignored it and pulled out her cigarette.
"Back to smoking, are we?"
She didn't reply.
"What do want me to transport?"
She reached and pulled out a pen drive.
"A pen drive?" he took it from her. "What's the story?"
Rose took a deep inhale, turned, and leaned on the railing Wade was sitting on.
"My company lost nearly 4 billion with the SHIELD fiasco. A lot of stuff like expenses at the expo, and various other things were cut off to try and make up for all that. I don't regret cutting my own salary. Investors are hesitant to invest since my company is directly affected by Avengers."
Wade looked at the pen drive. "What are you selling?"
Rose looked at him, taking a drag. "Country secrets. Defense loopholes."
She couldn't see it due to the mask, but she could tell Wade's eyes had widened.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?!"
"too many things. Where should I start?" she looked at him with a poker face.
"You are selling your own country for money?"
Rose looked at Wade as if he's grown two heads.
"What?! No! Are you crazy?"
"Then what the hell did you mean by selling country defense secrets?"
She exhaled, smoke rising up. "I should rephrase. My bad." she chuckled, "When I was shifting through HYDRA's data banks, I found tons of things. Including defense secrets, loopholes, who was their HYDRA Rep in those countries, and all that.
At first, I was just gonna mail it back anonymously or shit, but then I saw the company budget file. I need money, right now." she looked back at him, "I desperately need at least one good investor."
"And this is your investor?"
"No. Just a source of money. There's an underground auction house in St. Petersburg. Mostly illegal stuff, smuggled stuff, black market weapons, and those kinds of things are sold there. That's where you are delivering this. I'll text the address."
"How much do you think this will fetch ya?"
"On an optimistic note, maybe ten or so million? I don't know."
"And then you laundry money?"
"In lame terms, I guess. Or I'd give it to a friend or someone like that and make them an anonymous investor. Either way, it's gonna make its way to the company." she chuckled, "By the way, relax. I've sent anonymous tips to those country's defense agencies about the auction. And I've made specific arrangements to rig the buying party. It'll be going back to the country it came from."
"This is why I hate billionaires and capitalists."
Rose snorted, "A least I pay my taxes."
He looked down at the road for a few minutes before he looked back at her.
"So you are selling the countries what was stolen from them for a small price."
"Basically, yes."
"And they don't know it's you."
"Not at all." she turned and rested her elbows on the railing, "I'm not too stoked about this idea. I know it's wrong. but I need money. I've run out of options."
"What about your massive inheritance? I don't think anyone would notice if you take out a couple of billions from there."
"Goblins will even if they don't care. And so will all the people who work at the bank. Some of them 'em might get too interested."
"Like your brother?"
She nodded. "If I withdraw that huge amount, someone is gonna notice. I can't afford people snooping around my life and blowing up my secrets." she looked at him, "I'm taking little amounts every time I can. A couple of millions after getting them exchanged. But that's all I can do. This," she pointed at the pen drive, "is quick and efficient money."
"And how many of these do you have?"
She snorted, "I'll let you know if I want you to deliver more of these." She took another drag, "Get this delivered first. And stick around."
"for what?"
"After whatever it is sold for, the auction house takes 10%. You can have 5%. I want the rest 85%."
He looked thoughtful. "So...say this sells for a billion. I get...uh..."
"50 million."
Wade gasped, gaping at her.
"the most anyone's paid me is 10 million. And that was for killing a whole bunch of people." he mock-wept. "Thank you!"
"Don't mention it. I'd go myself but I just to remain anonymous. No one needs to know who's selling this information."
He wiped some fake tears and spread his arms. "Can I hug you? Please."
Rose looked him up and down, "I know for a fact why you wear red. I think I'm good."
Wade looked dejected, "I'm Canadian! That's how we show our gratitude"
"Don't make it worse. Wade. These clothes are designer and it's expensive to get the blood off of them." she snorted, "For that fact, I'm half-British. this isn't a competition on who's more polite."
"Wasn't making it one."
"Sure..."
They stayed there silent for while Rose finished her cigarette and crushed it under her foot.
"I'll be going out of reach from tonight for the next week or so." she looked at him, "Deliver this. Lay low. Collect your money. And then get the fuck off the radar. "
"Not even HYDRA?"
"That being your only exception." she pushed herself straight up, "I'll get you your weapons once I'm back. "
"That's it?"
Her eyebrows furrowed as she look at him. "What?"
He stared at her before he shrugged and pocketed the pen drive.
She placed her hands in her trouser's pockets, "Heads up. This auction house has people you do not wanna mess with. And I have informed them of who would be delivering the drive. So if something goes amiss...they'll be coming for your head."
"Can't you make another copy of this?"
"It's not a copy. It's original. What am I gonna do with defense loopholes of other countries?" she shrugged
Wade took a deep breath, "Alright then. I should get going. Got a flight to catch."
Rose personally didn't know a lot about Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool. They happened to meet by chance years ago and neither of them bothered to know more than what the other was willing to tell.
But Rose knew him enough to know what kind of stunt he was going to pull and grabbed his spandex before he could jump off the 94th floor.
"Take the elevator. Like a decent human, Wade" she deadpanned, pulling him back as he landed on the floor of the terrace on his arse.
She turned and headed down, heels clicking on the floor.
She pressed her lips, looking at two dresses as she packed her luggage.
"The green looks good."
"Is it because of my eyes?"
"I'd say so, yes."
She looked at the entrance of her closet to see Steve. she placed the navy dress back in the rack and dropped the green one over the pile of clothes she was taking with her.
"so, what do I owe this visit for?"
Steve folded his arms and leaned on the door frame.
"I just wanted to thank you."
"what did I do?"
"you offered to help Bucky and heal him. I know what you feel about him so I can imagine how hard it must have been for you to even get that idea."
She pressed her lips looking at him, "I did it keeping everyone's benefit in mind. Right now, he's just a liability. Or an enemy. I've yet to make my mind on that."
"Still. thank you."
She took a deep breath, "you are welcome."
Steve nodded back. the two stood there for a few moments before Steve walked in.
"Can I ask for a favor?"
She looked up at him, towering her, and nodded
"Can you look after Bucky for me? In Asgard?"
She blinked, confused.
"I know what you are thinking but Bucky means a lot to me. And I know I'm asking for more than I should be. But I don't know anyone up there and Thor isn't my best friend."
She snorted, "Are you kidding me?"
"I would ask Thor but-"
"Leave it, Steve. I don't want to have an argument right now."
"You are one of the very few I can trust right now."
Rose closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She knew what was going on. She was getting emotionally manipulated by fucking Steve Rogers. But there's this thing called being a pushover in certain niches. and when one is parented by Molly Weasley for at least a decade, the tendency of being a pushover increase. And considering she was an only daughter, the more responsible one, and an emotional idiot when it came to certain people, she knew what her answer was going to be.
She looked at him, "I'll try. But I make no thorough promises."
Steve nodded back. He knew this was the closest he could from her. At least it wasn't a no.
He looked around, "Uh...you need help with packing?" he vaguely pointed at her casted arm.
She rolled her eyes and moved her hands over the pile of clothes. Quickly enough they folded themselves and settled inside the bag in proper fashion.
Once done she looked back at him, "I've got it."
He looked at the and then back at her, "I got so used to seeing you do stuff without magic I almost forgot you had it." he chuckled
"Pretty sure that's most mundane people around me." she shrugged and picked the bag.
As she tried to pass him, he held her shoulder softly.
"Hey," he softly said, "things have been very messed up right now. Very stressful. And we...what we had, our friendship is...struggling. But I don't want to lose what we had." he took a deep breath, "You've been trying to mend that bridge and I've...I owe you dinner when you come back. and quite possibly much more than that."
She raised a brow, "Careful what you offer. I might take you up on that."
"I want you to take me up on that."
she chuckled softly and that made him smile.
"Hungry?" he asked
"Oh, starving."
The two made their way to the communal.
"15 minutes and dinner will be out," Bruce said
She dropped her bag near the couch. "I'll be back."
"Where are you going?" Clint asked
She waved him off as she quickly made her way down the stairs to the guest floor. Reaching the desired door, she knocked twice and waited for the door to open.
Thinking about it, she often wondered if Percy ever smiled. He always wore either an RBF or a frown. Well, she supposed she could ask Audrey about that.
She heard the telltale click of the unlocking of the door and straightened as the door opened.
Even when he was all alone, Percy Weasley was all dressed up.
She almost began to be snarky, as she always was with him. It was their way of showing affection for one another. Well, there wasn't any affection but it wouldn't hurt to imagine some.
Instead, she tried her best to look calm and collected.
"Dinner would be ready in 10 minutes."
He sighed, "JARVIS did inform me of that. you didn't have to come all the way down here."
She wasn't going to be snarky. She wasn't going to be snarky.
"Yes. I'm aware of that." she shifted a little, "I was hoping I could talk to you for a moment."
He pocketed his hand and held the door with the other, "If this is about me being on my best behavior. I have had that talk with Bill."
She groaned, reaching to rub her temples, "I told Bill to stay out of it. I swear, I didn't ask for his help or advice."
"Sure..."
She told a deep breath, pinched the bridge of her nose before she looked at him.
"Look," she pressed her lips, "You don't like me. I tolerate you. We both are comfortable with that. I just want to ask if this will affect the UN proposal and all. I wanted to have this conversation with you yesterday but something came up. So...Can we keep our personal feud out of it all?"
Percy studied her as he shifted his weight from one leg to another.
"I know how to keep my personal and professional life separate. I think you have other things to worry about. No?"
She loudly exhaled, "sure. okay. One last thing...Uhm...Can I trust you with...Teddy and the rest of stuff?"
Percy pressed his lips and tilted his head, "I'm not here to make your life miserable. It's miserable as it is. I'm here because of ICW. So, I have priorities, and sorry but my foster sister isn't my priority. Or any of my concern."
She pressed her lips. Well, at least he apologized beforehand.
"Yeah, well. thanks," she replied. She was about to leave when another thought struck her. She can't be snarky doesn't mean she can't be a bitch to Percy as she occasionally was to him.
She smiled at him and saw him frown.
"I need you to do a little something for me. It's magic-related."
He raised a brow, "You are a competent enough witch."
"Yes, but you see, Hannah has forbidden me to use magic until I'm 100% entirely healed." she slightly raised her slinged arm and tilted her head with the same smile. Percy's muffled and irritated grunt made her feel slightly better.
After dinner, Rose and Percy reluctantly got together. She instructed him on how to create the perfect life-like illusion as he performed the magic. They bound the spell on an old phone with instructions to Clint on how to turn it off since only he had the mini magical capacity to do so. They did perform another illusion spell around the communal to make it seem like the Avengers were still there to throw them off the loop. Just in case.
Then Percy and Steve went downstairs and returned after 15 minutes with an unconscious Winter Soldier carried by Steve. Steve placed him on the couch and Thor picked him from there.
She also made him perform a couple of extra and unnecessary spells on her travel bag. The dirty look he gave her was enough indication that he knew what she was doing but clearly didn't have another option.
Pepper was not happy with everything that was going on, least with Percy's presence, but at least Rose and Tony would be more or less fine and that was what comforted her. So to keep her out of harm's way, she had decided to go visit her family with the dogs.
This meant that everyone would be gone before the afternoon of the following day leaving the tower cold and empty.
Rose entered the outer balcony with Thor on her tow, carrying the Winter Soldier.
She stood there, bag in one arm, and looked at the other.
Tony gave her a curt nod and mouthed, "take care. I love you."
Rhodey followed, saying pretty much the same thing.
She mouthed "I love you too" back to them. Pepper gave her a hug and ordered her to come back fine and shot Thor a warning glare to which he nodded. Percy couldn't have looked any more disinterested. Steve smiled softly and she nodded back at him. She smiled at Nat, Sam, Bruce, Maria, and Clint and then looked at Thor.
"Ready?" he asked
She took a deep breath, "Yeah."
Thor then looked up at the velvety black sky. The few stars were there, barely twinkling.
"Heimdall!"
The next thing Rose knew, everything around was all gold, saturated, shimmery, and too, too bright.
It was so different from apparition yet the disoriented feeling was the same.
She took a deep breath, regaining her posture, and looked around for the first time.
It was a golden dome. With a man standing in the middle of it. Well, an attractive man with an equally attractive sword.
"Rose, this is Heimdall. Keeper of Bifrost Bridge."
She slightly bowed her head and looked up again. "It's an honor."
With a loud clunk, Heimdall pulled the sword from its slot and stepped down. He smiled at her, dare she say, proudly.
"It's an honor to meet you as well, Lady Rose Potter-Stark"
"T-Thank you."
He then addressed them both, "The King and Queen are expecting you." His golden eyes shifted back at her, "May your stay at Asgard prove to be fruitful."
"thank you."
Thor just gave him a curt nod. Then he started walking and Rose quickly jogged to catch up to him like a puppy.
Her breath hitched as she viewed the majestic city of Gods and Goddesses and she stopped in her path to shamelessly gawk.
"Rose, I welcome you to Asgard."
