Rose always had had an idea of what Asgard would look like. Majestic, elegant, and of course, magical. Not only did the city in front of her tick all those boxes, but it also had something so...divine about it that she didn't how to express that feeling in words.
Thor loudly chuckled and she slowly looked to her left at him. He looked like he was stifling his laughter.
"What?" she asked
He just shook his head before jerking it forward.
If the view of the city from the bridge was majestic, the entire city itself from the middle of what was straight up heavenly. The wealth, the people, the culture, everything was so beautiful.
"It's gorgeous," she muttered, looking at everything there was to see.
She got twice as many looks from people, whom she guessed were gods and goddesses and commoners. As common as you can get in the land of gods. It had to be either because she was walking with their prince who was carrying an unconscious man or because of her overall appearance of jeans, button-down, sneakers, and rose gold hair or both. But despite the looks, many of them smiled and greeted her with nods, that she did return to them, many greeted Thor and made quick conversation with him. Basically, it was a very welcome grand change.
And the castle was just...it nothing like she had ever seen.
"I don't understand why you like to spend time on Midgard when you could live in such an amazing place." she muttered to Thor, "If it was me, I'd never go back to Earth."
Thor chuckled loudly. "You see, Rose places like these start to lose their charm after a few centuries."
"I guess." she did a 360 to literally look at everything.
The palace guards bowed when Thor got in their sight and at the gate, they were greeted by a beautiful woman, who smiled warmly at them. Her honey brown hair was tied in a beautiful braid that rested on her shoulder. She was clad in typical goddess attire that was pale-powdery blue color and was decked in jewelry from head to as long as she could see the goddess's skin.
Personally Rose could feel the magic radiating off of her and it was a very new feeling for her.
"Greetings, Eir. I hope everything is fairing well."
Rose ran her brain for that name. Eir. Ever since she had met Thor, she had highly invested in Norse Pantheon and Culture. She had even started learning Norweigian to have a better understanding of the culture. Thor's culture.
"It is, Thor. Thank you." she smiled, "Heimdall informed me that you might be requiring my aid."
"Yes, I do. We do." he spared a quick glance at Rose before looked back at Eir
Eir nodded and looked over her shoulder at the guards, "Please carry this injured mortal to my healing hut."
The two built-like tank soldiers stepped forward. They were quite huge but not as huge as Thor. But then again for the 5'5" her, everyone was more or less huge.
One of them carefully took the unconscious Barnes from Thor's arm and with the other, left for what she presumed was towards the healing hut.
Once they were out of sight, the trio turned their attention towards each other, again.
"Eir, I'd like to introduce you to Rose, my sister in arms. Rose, this is Eir. The best healer in Asgard and all of Nine Realms."
"Eir. Goddess of Healing. Yes. I've read all about you." Rose gushed and quickly stopped when Eir smiled at her. Her cheeks started warming up and she pressed her lips.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Rose." she looked down at her arm that was still plastered and in a sling, "I believe you could also use a little of my aid concerning your arm."
Rose blinked, almost owlishly. Hold on a damn fucking second. Eir was the goddess of healing. She can heal her arm. Which means no more cast or sling. Yes!
"I suppose, yes. Thank you," she replied softly, careful not to show how excited that offer got her.
"Father and Mother are expecting us. I'd bring Rose to your healing hut later."
Eir nodded and then looked at her, "I look forward to seeing you."
"Me too." Rose chimed.
With one final smile, she left.
Rose licked her lips and looked at Thor who looked highly amused.
"Please stop me in case I look like I'm gonna make a fool of myself in front of your parents."
"Rubbish! You are thinking too much!"
"I'm not. I just know me."
Rose exhaled as Thor started walking inside the palace. Rose jogged to catch up to him.
"I almost embarrassed myself in front of Eir. Odin and Frigga are the King and Queen of gods. I know I have a tendency of being an idiot."
"I assure you that you will be fine. Cease your worrying for no reason"
Rose sighed and brushed some hair off her face. "I was less tense when meeting my boyfriend's parents. Or walking to my death," she muttered to herself.
Thor led her via long, golden, winding hallways. She wouldn't be ashamed to admit that she had heart eyes and star eyes the whole time.
Eventually, they paused in front of massive golden gates with four guards on either side. They bowed when they saw Thor and then proceeded to open the gate. The throne room was just as beautiful and majestic as the rest of the castle. The man who sat atop the golden throne wasn't that hard to identify.
Odin was every bit of a king she had read about. Gungnir proudly in his hand. His one eye had a golden patch and while he did look old, Rose knew he was stronger than he appeared.
Frigga was the elegant queen, standing near the foot of the throne, looking more put together than Rose had ever looked in her life. Her golden hair was in an updo and she was looking expectantly at them. Or her. whichever was more likely.
"Father. Mother." Thor greeted, "May I introduce Rose Stark. One of the best warriors of Midgard."
Odin did not look impressed. "I know who she is."
On the contrary, Frigga smiled welcomingly at her, "Welcome to Asgard, Rose."
"Thank you." she smiled softly, not sure how to address the Queen.
"Thor, I expected you to know better than bringing two mortals to Asgard. Mortals do not belong here in Asgard any more than a goat belongs at a banquet table."
Rose wanted to take offense to that statement but couldn't bring herself to it.
"The mortal man currently residing in Eir's healing hut has been a victim of years of torture and cruelty. Midgard does not have advanced measures to help him. Hence I suggested bringing him here as Asgard has the best healers in the Galaxy. Rose here," he pointed at her, "is very well versed in magic and is one of the very few people who hold the knowledge to heal the scars and impairments inflicted by such long decades of torture."
"Then she could've done it on Midgard. Asgard is not for sojourns of mortals."
Thor paused and Rose realized he didn't know the whole story.
She stepped forward, hoping she wouldn't offend any of them, "I..uh...I would have done it on Midgard but I'm forbidden from doing so. I recently suffered fatal injuries and I'm still healing so my healer has forbidden me to use magic until I'm completely healed. On the other hand, I do not look eye to eye with the man we brought. That was when Thor made his offer. And I'm grateful for that."
Odin remained stoic. Rose looked at Thor, confused.
She heard footsteps and looked ahead to see Frigga walking towards her.
"You must be tired from the travel. Let me show you your chambers so you can rest."
Rose looked back at Thor, slightly panicked but he just gave her a nod. She took a deep breath, quickly nodded, and grabbing her bag went along with Frigga.
She led her to a whole different part of the castle which was just as fabulous as the rest of the castle was.
"Do excuse my husband. He doesn't really have developed social skills."
Rose, who was gawking and staring at everything that was in the castle was suddenly startled by Frigga breaking the silence.
"huh...oh. It's alright. He's the King of the Land of Gods. I do understand why he was being so reluctant."
Frigga hummed with a smile, "Thor did say that you are wiser for your age."
Wiser, her arse. She had bouts of wiseness and the rest of the time she was just an utter dumbass. Everyone knew that.
"I...um...didn't know Thor spoke about me."
"Actually Thor speaks quite highly of you and the rest of Avengers."
Okay. So the Queen of Asgard was aware of Avengers. Okay. Cool. Cool. Cool. Nothing big. Just the fact that Thor talked to his parents about a bunch of mortals.
"Thank you," she said
Fuck it! Where was her confidence when she needed it?! And then she remembered.
"I also wanted to thank you for the necklace you sent via Thor. It is beautiful and quite possibly one of the best gifts I've ever received. Though I have no idea what I did to receive such an incredible gift."
Frigga smiled. "I was raised by witches in my youth. They taught me quite a lot of what I do know. When my son mentioned that he has a Midgardian witch for a sister in arms, I merely wanted to make sure you were well treated for it." Her smile turned a little sad, "Witches do get a lot of ill name for situations that are not in their control."
"Yeah, they do." Rose nodded
"the necklace was nothing but a token from me to a witch."
"I don't know if you know this but that necklace means a lot to me. Again, thank you so much for that."
Frigga just nodded as she stopped in front of a pair of huge doors. Rose stopped next to her.
the doors were wooden with gold engravings. They had to be at least 10ft. Whoa. They were huge.
Her neck craned upwards to look at the doors.
It was only when she heard a creak that she looked in front to see Frigga opening the doors for her. Not to be appearing as if slacking off, she quickly made her way to stand just slightly behind the Queen.
"I hope the chambers are suitable for your stay."
Rose blinked, eyes crazily roaming from the huge bed, which was at least twice her queen-size bed, the ornaments of the room, the accessories, the interiors. Everything was so...refined.
"This is so much better than my room." she muttered and quickly turned to face Frigga, "I'm not it would be appropriate for me to stay here. This all seems all a tad bit...lavish for me. And I'm just a mortal. I apologize for that."
She mentally snorted. Rich words coming from a billionaire.
"It's perfectly alright, dear. And I understand your predicament." Frigga smiled, "Do not sell yourself short, Rose. Being a mortal doesn't make you any less or demeaning."
Rose wanted to argue that it actually does but stayed shut.
"We rarely get guests from other realms. As one of the very few, you deserve to be treated as a guest, irrespective of where you come from. I insist that you make accept these chambers as your temporary stay."
Rose smiled and nodded, "I'm not sure I can say no to the Queen."
"Good. I'll have you informed when supper would be served."
"That'd be great. Thank you."
Frigga nodded before she turned around with all the grace and walked out, the doors closing after her.
Rose looked around. She wasn't lying. The room was probably more expensive than a quarter of the tower. She dropped her bag on the carpet and made her way to the bed, running her hand over it.
The bed material felt like silk. Or maybe Satin. She wasn't sure but it did feel rich.
She walked around the room, checking everything, smelling and touching things. She even pulled out drawers to check what was in them. She was surprised to find that one of the golden wardrobes actually was filled with gowns. Wow. That was considerate.
She then made her way to the bathroom. She literally checked everything there was.
One of the racks had 10 different perfumes and 15 different scented oils. Well, all of this was a tad bit too rich for her. She barely owned 5 perfumes back in the tower and had never used scented oils. what was even the use of that bloody thing?
She was in the middle of the 7th oil testing when she heard the knock and then the sound of the door opening. She quickly got up from the toilet seat and tried to cap the bottle only to fumble, nearly drop the bottle only to catch it just before it could hit the ground and shatter. She'd hate to explain to anyone why the bathroom suddenly smelled like it was drenched in jasmine oil.
"Rose?"
Okay. She didn't know if it was better or worse that it was Thor who was looking for her.
"Just a minute," she called from the bathroom, hands trembling as she tried to cap the bottle. She kept cursing herself under her breath until she finally managed to cap it and kept it back on the rack. She cleared her throat and straightened her shirt and then opened the door, walking out.
Thor was standing near the window overlooking the outside.
She cleared her throat and Thor turned around.
"What's wrong? Your father isn't gonna send me...us back, is he?"
Thor shook his head, keeping the Mjolnir on a nearby table, and walked towards her.
"He has permitted for your stay."
"that's good."
Thor nodded, "I'm here to accompany you to Eir's hut."
"Of course." she nodded and straightened her collar when she saw Thor frowned.
"What is it?"
"What is that odour?"
Odour? What od- Holy fucking shit. Of course, she used more perfume than she should have.
"It's uh... it's nothing. "
"Are you sure about that?"
"Yes, of course." She cleared her throat, "Eir's hut, did you say. I guess she's expecting us."
Thor nodded and gestured for her to start walking. She heard the sound of Mjolnir moving and Thor's footfalls.
They walked into a hallway. The only other people in that hallway were the occasional guards.
"Is that jasmine?"
Her cheeks flared up and her eyes widened as the embarrassment start creeping up. She cleared her throat again and looked at Thor.
"Jasmine?" she asked way too innocently. The look Thor gave her return was a clear expression of how he didn't buy her fake innocence.
"You are smelling quite strongly of jasmine." he paused, "and bergamot...and lily and...is that Kyphi?"
Rose's embarrassment kept on increasing as Thor named the oils and perfumes she had tested on herself.
"And I remember clearly that you did not possess that odour when we arrived." he tilted his head, "What were you doing in the bath?"
"Nothing. Just...uh..." she licked her lips, "just getting refreshed."
Thor studied her face for two seconds before he burst out laughing. Rose pressed her lips as she turned her face away.
"Sure. Laugh it all away."
It took Thor about 2 minutes to finish all that laughing at her expense.
"You've been wanting to do that since we arrived, didn't you?"
He chuckled, "I understand that Asgard is quite unusual for you."
"That's a small word. It's lusher than anything I've experienced and I'm one of the top 10 richest people on earth and the only daughter of one of the top 5 world's richest men."
"So you thought it was a suitable objective to lather yourself in scented oils and perfumes."
"That was so not the objective. I was just checking the scents." She looked at him and narrowed her eyes, "If you won't stop teasing me about this, I'll start teasing you every time you visit Midgard and stumble around the technological contraptions."
That got him to shut up. But he did keep a teasing smirk on his face.
After about 30 seconds of silence, he leaned a little towards her.
"Though you might wish to remove the odour before someone else queries you about the same,"
with embarrassing warm cheeks further, and glare towards Thor, that had more embarrassment than irritation, she did a quick cleaning spell on herself. Thor walked alongside her and after a few seconds gave her the nod of approval.
They exited the cattle via a different gate which led to what she presumed were royal gardens.
"Frigga is a fan of gardening, I take it."
Thor just nodded, twirling his hammer behind his back.
"Mother cherishes these gardens. She always comes down here when she wished to have some peace of mind."
"if I had a garden like this, I'd love to spend all my time there too." she muttered before she looked at Thor, "not much of a green thumb, I am. all the plants I've ever tried to grow died. Except for one succulent that DUM-E kept alive. "
"It takes a lot of patience with such practices."
She looked at Thor critically, "since when did you become an expert in gardening?"
"I'm not." he chuckled, "It's just...Mother used to bring me and Loki here when we were children."
Rose's mind gears started working to calculate how many centuries ago that must've been.
"She taught us a lot about plants, herbs, their medicinal properties, and their uses. I, of course, never retained much of that. Loki on the other hand..."
She exhaled and nodded to herself. Despite it being over a year of what happened. Loki was a sensitive topic to both Thor and Clint. And one the whole team avoided. collectively.
Rose took a deep breath as she thought of different topics to talk about when one got in her head.
"So...you've been on Midgard for a while. Quite inconsistently at that. Uh...you had a girlfriend, didn't you? A scientist."
Thor's face lit up and Rose counted the momentary victory. Thor grinned and began speaking about Jane with quite a passion.
Rose knew exactly who Jane Foster was. She had looked up everything about her when Fury had once accidentally slipped that information. She was just being a curious idiot.
But the way Thor started talking about her was enough to make her smile. It was clearly visible that Thor was very fond of the scientist and harbored a supermassive crush on her. They had never gotten time to officially date with everything going on when he first visited Midgard (He and his merry group had given Fury and Phil a very tough week especially after they had to deal with the Hulk-Harlem issue and Hammer-Vanko circus and Thor's arrival all in the same week, after which both the men ranted off for 4 hours with enough alcohol in their systems that it surprised her that neither of them had passed out.) and then hadn't gone to visit her after SHIELD had tucked her away safely.
Well, she supposed that a certain Dr. Foster won't mind receiving an offer letter for working at either SI or the new venture.
"And Darcy, while quite naive and childish, shows great loyalty towards Jane."
"Right. Darcy," she muttered
"Oh, there's so much more to tell. But alas that must take place another time. We are here at Eir's healing hut."
Healing hut was not the right word for it.
"Whosoever named this as healing hut was definitely having a stroke," she whispered to herself, eyeing the massive structure. It was about half the size of her Malibu mansion and looked amazing. Like fantasy architecture and sci-fi architecture had a love child.
"This way."
Thor led her inside and then into a chamber where Eir was sitting with a couple of other women. Asgardian nurses, she supposed.
"I was starting to wonder if you'd show up." Eir smiled
"Well, considering you offered to heal my arm, there wasn't a chance that I wouldn't have shown up," she said.
"Perhaps I should heal you first and then you can provide me insight on the mortal man you brought with yourself."
"That'd be great. Thank you."
Eir led her to a separate room where it was just the two of them. She made her sit on a bed and then removed her sling and studied her cast.
"A broken arm, I see."
"Broken in half."
Eir hummer and then shuffled around a tray of colorful potions and other liquids and then she returned with three bottles.
"Your bones have healed rather nicely for a mortal. Please excuse my poor work here since I haven't treated a mortal in quite a long time. I've become rather rusty in those fields."
"I don't suppose a lot of mortals come to Asgard, do they? It's understandable."
Eir smiled and then passed her the potions.
"These two must be taken tonight after supper."
Rose nodded.
Eir then grabbed a small scalpel-like tool and carefully cut and peeled off the plaster.
The cool air felt weird when it hit the part of her arm that had been in the plaster for about 6 weeks. Her forearm had gone quite red compared to the rest of her arm. It was still swollen but it was not extensively.
Eir picked the third bottle of the ointment, poured a gracious amount in her hands before rubbing it all over her forearm. Once done she wrapped her forearm in some clean bandage. She then left to clean her hands and then handed her a bottle of the same ointment.
"And this ointment has to be put on the forearm right before bed. Your arm would be perfectly healed by tomorrow morning."
"Thank you so much."
Eir just nodded and asked her to follow her. They walked out of the room and Thor joined them as they went into another room where Barnes was laying on a bed in the middle of the room.
She stopped just a foot into the room as if her feet were refusing to carry her forward. Her eyes remained on the man on the bed. She suddenly felt her breathing getting laboured and quick, her mouth getting dry.
This was the most peaceful she had ever seen him. After ruining so many lives.
She almost jumped when she felt something wrap around her hand. She looked down and then up at Thor who held her hand and was rubbing his thumb over the back of her hand.
She looked ahead and felt Thor's fingers moved and then intertwined with hers. After a few seconds, he squeezed her hand softly. It was comforting, endearing and it...felt nice.
She nodded, swallowing, letting Thor know that she was alright now.
"I went ahead with a preliminary examination." Eir's voice rang, grabbing her attention. It was then she noticed that the room now looked cleaner and Eir was standing on the other side of the bed.
"I found rather...I'm not sure I do have the right words for my findings...and I'm faintly puzzled by the cause that would have ended up with something akin to this." Eir raised her head and looked at her.
"What can you tell me about this man?"
Thor squeezed her hand again.
"Quite a lot, actually," she grumbled as she took a deep breath and began to tell Eir all about her new patient.
To her credit, Eir was a very good listener. She supposed it came with the job package.
When she finished, Eir just chuckled but there was no humor in it. It was a dry, hollow chuckle.
"Mortals," she began forlornly, "They never cease to amaze me," She moved around a little, "To do such horrendous treatments to one of their own."
"For what it is worth, I don't agree with whatever happened either. It was all inhumane." Rose added her two cents
"Can you be of aid?"
Eir pressed her lips as she looked at Barnes' head to toe once before looking at them.
"I will be forthcoming and truthful. I have never encountered such a patient. Multiple patients of mine generally sustain physical impairment. I have treated patients who have been under the influence of another due to mind control, however in a case such as this..." she exhaled loudly, "I do worry that I might not understand precisely what ails him."
Rose took a deep breath, "I might be helpful here."
Eir studied her, "Do enlighten me,"
Rose licked her lips, "I'm sure Thor must have informed that I have magic."
"He has."
Rose nodded, "One of the fields I specialize in happens to be mind magic. I have studied the human mind to a somewhat great extent and am aware of what magic can be used around a mundane's, non-magical person, brain without causing any further damage." she licked her lips, "A friend of mine had undergone similar...treatments decades ago. She managed to heal herself, I don't know how, but I did help her a bit towards the end."
Eir stood there, probably letting her words sink in.
"Is it wrong of me to presume the reason you have not so is deeper than your recent fatal injuries?"
Rose inhaled deeply.
"No. No, you...you are right."
Eir nodded.
"I will proceed with a confirming examination then."
Eir then did her thing and after a few seconds, what looked like an energy cloud began floating over Barnes. Rose tilted her head, studying that thing which she guessed was some kind of Asgardian scanner but...
"What exactly is that?" she asked, taking a step forward, looking at the energy cloud.
"It's a Soul Forge," Eir answered
"Soul Forge..." Rose muttered before looking it over entirely, "Reminds me of a Quantum field generator." She then turned to Eir, "Does it transfer molecular energy from one subject to another?"
Eir gave her a smile, looking amused and impressed at the same time. "Yes." She then turned to Thor, "Smart, this one."
"I suppose." Thor chuckled
Eir chuckled softly and resumed doing her things. "It will take time. Furthermore, his body is rather weak and malnourished. He needs to be physically well prior to any treatment."
"When can we expect the results?" Thor asked
"Tomorrow morning at the earliest."
Rose nodded.
"Of course." Thor nodded, as well
The duo bid Eir goodbye and left the healing hut and started walking.
"How are you faring?"
Rose inhaled deeply, "It is a mix of emotions. I'm happy about certain things but also...I don't know how to put that in words, whatever I'm feeling."
Thor nodded, "I just wish to let you know that if you feel troubled at any time, you can always speak to me. I'd be happy to listen."
"My problems aren't your problems."
"Rose," Thor stopped and so did she, "You are my sister in arms. We have the responsibility of looking out for each other on the battlefield. What you are currently experiencing is a battle as well. Perhaps not with another being but with yourself. And in such a time it does become my responsibility to look after you."
Rose chuckled, shaking her head, "Leave it to you to make everything sound fancy." She rolled her eyes fondly, "I'll be happy to receive your help in this battle."
"that is a wise decision."
"Hmmm...perhaps."
Thor chuckled and started walking as did she.
"Would you like to see the sunset? It would start in a couple of hours."
Rose pressed her lips, "Maybe another time. I'm staying here for a while, right?"
Thor nodded, "Let me walk you to your chambers."
Rose nodded, not wanting to risk getting lost in such a huge building.
Rose frowned when she felt her body jerk a bit unnaturally. She turned around but the jerking continued. And then she heard,
"Lady Stark?"
Her eyes immediately opened and she quickly sat up, pulling the blanket to cover her bra-less state.
It was a...girl. Or a woman. Man, it was so hard to tell someone's age up here.
The woman had dark brown hair that was in an updo with soft curls framing her face. Her outfit was nice and looked comfortable it was nowhere as posh looking as Eir's. Other than that, she had a couple of moderate jewelry adorning here.
"Apologies for startling you, Lady Stark," she said, keeping her head down
"Oh no. No. It's alright. It's fine. I was just...I'm sorry if it made a wrong impression." she swallowed, "You don't have to apologize."
The girl nodded, not raising her head.
"My name is Arna. Prince Thor had requested for my service to you for the rest of your stay here."
Rose blinked, confused.
Thor...assigned her a personal servant?
Wait, what?
"Thank you but I don't really need a service like this. I don't want to trouble you."
"It would be no trouble to service you, MiLady."
Rose licked her lips, her thumbs twiddling. "Arna, was it?"
"Yes, MiLady."
Rose nodded, "Okay. If you are gonna help me as long as I'm here, can I make some rules?"
"Rules?"
"Yes. Are you comfortable with that?"
Arna looked at her and then quickly nodded before looking down.
"Alright. First of all, no need to call me Milady or Lady Stark. My name is Rose and that is what I like to be called."
Rose tilted her head a little and she could feel that this was not what Arna was used to.
"I insist, Arna. And you can take your time. Get comfortable with it." she smiled, "I'm not royalty and I'm not a Lady. I'm just a mortal human from Midgard."
Arna nodded again.
"Second, I am in need of a friend around here. Thor is the only one I do know and it can get quite boring when he's not around. Would you like to be my friend?"
Arna looked at her again before she softly smiled, "It would be my honor, Mila-Apologies. Rose."
"Oh no. Don't apologize. I want you to take your time with it." Rose let go of the blanket and stood up, stretching, "So...what's going on?"
"The supper will be ready in 15 minutes."
"Oh." and that was when she turned to look outside the window. It was dark. She had slept through the entire evening.
"Oh great." she muttered before looking back at Arna, "15 minutes, right?"
Arna nodded.
"I suppose I can take a quick bath," Rose muttered and went for her bag to pick out a dress. She pulled out the green one and then the brown one before she looked at Arna, "Which one would you suggest?"
Arna looked at those dresses.
One was deep emerald green, off-shoulder dress with a cinched waist that went all the way to her calves. The brown one had a soft printed pattern all over. It was looser with short ruffled sleeves and flowed down to an inch above her knees.
"Please be honest," Rose added
Arna checked both the dresses before she looked at Rose, who nodded at her to say whatever she wanted to say.
"May I suggest one of the Asgardian garments?"
Rose blinked before she smiled, "Please, yes."
Arna walked to the wardrobe with all the fancy clothes and browsed through it.
"Do you have preferred hues?"
Rose shrugged, "Nothing as such." she replied as she realized something and quickly added, "As long as it is not pink!"
Arna nodded and after a minute or two pulled out a floor-length dress. It was petrol-blue in color and sleeveless with two straps from her breast sides on either side and two more from the shoulders converted in the middle of her chest, right below the collarbone would be.
"It's gorgeous." Rose smiled and Arna handed her the dress with which she quickly made her way to the bathroom. After taking a quick bath and pulled over the dress and zipped it up with magic. She was careful not to use any oils or perfumes.
She hadn't noticed it earlier but there was a black belt around the waist that cinched the dress to her figure. The dress was perfect in literally every sense and it fit her like a glove.
She made a mental note to ask Thor about the Royal seamstress of whoever made these dresses because she'd be buying more than a couple of them.
She walked out, holding a dress a little in front of her feet so she won't trip. She blinked when she realized that Arna had picked out a pair of matching shoes and little pieces of jewelry.
"I hope these are suitable..."
"Of course." Rose grabbed the shoes and put them on. She was thankful that the shoes had a bit of heel in them. Otherwise, she'd be looking tiny to everyone in the whole room.
Rose, despite being not fond of a lot of jewelry, picked the small trinkets to wear. It was just bracelets, rings, and a headpiece.
She slightly jumped when Arna touched her hair.
"May I?"
Rose quickly nodded.
In another 5 minutes, Arna had prepared her so well, she couldn't even recognize herself in the mirror for the better part.
"You have lovely hair." she had smiled while braiding her hair, "Do everyone in Midgard have such hair?"
"Thank you. but..uh no. Some of them do. But that's very few people."
Arna had nodded and had asked a few more questions here and there. After that, Arna had walked her to the dining hall from where she bid her goodbye.
She took a deep breath, fingers twirling around the cloth of the dress.
"Nervous?"
She jumped, hand over her rapidly beating heart, "Jesus Christ, Thor! Do you want to give me a heart attack?"
"Wasn't aiming for that."
"Then please don't sneak up on me."
"Duly noted, Milady" he smirked
Rose shot him a glare that only made him laugh. She took a deep breath, trying to calm down her heart.
"you will be fine." Thor grabbed her hand, "Shall we? I'm starving."
She took another deep breath, "I suppose, yes."
Alright, people!
I have not been putting A/N's for a while much because I didn't have anything specific to say. But today, I do.
I've been writing this entire fic for the last 3 years and wish to finish it by the end of this year. Wish, being the keyword. I'll try my best. Anyway, after writing a total of ~350,000 words in total, I was hoping to get genuine feedback about this story so far.
Usually, the comments tend to be all over the place. So, if you guys can give me genuine feedback on the whole story up to this point, it'd be great. What you liked, loved, didn't like, or anything. Creative criticism is very welcome. Brutal honesty is not.
And please, refrain from giving feedback if you 'hate this' or anything amongst those lines. If you don't have nice, or average things to say, don't.
People who do comment, do not comment, have commented once, have commented 20 times, everyone, just one genuine feedback.
I'd appreciate it very much. Thank you
Ciao
