Do know what it's like to lose? To feel so desperately that you're right, yet to fail nonetheless. For a mortal it's frightening aspect that turns the legs to jelly as their blood seems to freeze. Their souls shake as their minds attempt to grapple with the unknown and the curse of knowing that their end may be upon them. They run from it but destiny arrives all the same, young or old. The health and the sick. But for an immortal, defeat is all the more humbling and terrorizing.

When the titans struck down their father fear gripped the sky lord as he was dismembered. As an act of defiance the primordial attempted to crush his children with the weight of the sky making them fear of an eternity trapped between their mother and the freed element. Gaia tasked Kronos, the one who did her bidding to break the sky into parts for each of his bothers to bear and he himself the center so that the sky could not touch her. He did so, preventing his father from completing his revenge. But he was not vigilant enough to escape from fate.

Now fate had came to the one who dethroned Kronos. Ares, god of war cut down his father and cast down the gods of Olympus into the pit leaving only the loyal to him. Only his sisers Artemis, goddess of the moon and hunt, and Athena, goddess of wisdom and war, escaped from the fate that befell those loyal to Zues. The king is however patient. For even as they seek to dethroned him he doesn't worry. He can wait. He can wait for war is... inevitable.

Jumped to the right as the massive snake's head slammed on the platform he was just standing on. So far luck had prevented him from dieing too soon but he could feel his body starting to tire. He would have died if not for his agility and the hidden platform that was there.

Then he felt the burning sensation on his skin on his left side. looking down he saw his makes your clothing burn away as the last dodge allowed a glancing blow of poison to strike him. Gasping in pain he held his side as he fell to his knees, blood dripping between his fingers.

The snake hissed as if mocking the boy. It knew this fight was nearly won as it's poison made short work of Naruto.

"It seems as though Naruto has fought his last battle." Commented Korvak to his sister and Hinata. The son of Ares was finding this situation of Naruto hilarious as he took out a simi ripe apple. Biting down the war child hummed in pleasure as the sweet juices filled his mouth. "No one survives o' Kenpachi."

Katana disagreed. "Naruto has fought many opponents brother and his luck has been good to him during times of strife and turmoil. Fortunes may still smile on him. Our father does smile on fighters who face impossible odds and win."

"Father would never bless him!" Korvak snapped, irration and rage on his face. Katana bent her head to one side as her vrother threw the barely esten apple at her. It landed in the middle of several members of the tribe who began bickering over the rights to eat the good fruit.

"Careful brother, your anger and weakness is showing." Taunted Katana with a smirk.

Growling Korvak turned his attention back to Naruto and Kenpachi. The death of Naruto to the snake would lighten his mood after all.

'Then again,' he thought as he looked at the worried face of Hinata. 'Her despair for the scraper is tantalizing... for a fodder. Her eyes remind me of some gennin that killed a few teens a while back. The big person was shouting about our kind and called the boy a .. huga?'

Korvak and Katana along with Hinata were not the only ones watching the fight with interest however. Hidden by the shadows steel eyes watched as the boy attempted to survive against a more powerful and experienced foe. She knew it was dangerous for her to be here as the children of Ares or any of their father's allies children could detect her. Be it as it sure, she needed to get to Naruto and confirm a suspicion of hers about the boy.

Slipping into the shadows, she slowly made her way towards a spot that would offer her the greatest amount of safety from eyesight an advantage to shoot an arrow. Fingertips drummed the dagger she had holstered to her leg as the only spot she could get to won't be enough to hid her or allow her to fire her bow. Hearing the target cry out she groaned as she knew that time was running out for him.

'Of all the things I've done and seen...' She complained in her mind as she slipped out an ANBU mask. It's owner knocked out near one of of entrances to the streets with a bottle of alcohol mixed with strong knockout medicine from the hospital. For ninja who studied the art of stealth, she was by far their senior in terms of skill and necessity. Taking a deep breath in she placed it on her face.

'For the cause.'

Naruto screamed as his luck failed and Kenpachi's fireball scored a hit on his back. Blasted into the air Naruto landed with a splash in the dirty water which put out the flames, but not before his flesh was warped by the heat. Floundering, Naruto was only able to stay afloat because of his desire to survive even as the pain was near crippling for his body. The snake hissed, pleased that the hunt was soon to be over. Instead of wasting energy, it slowly slithered towards Naruto and began to circle the boy.

Naruto's eyes widened as he soon found himself wrapped in the coils of the snake. His arms and legs pinned he snarled in defiance at the snake.

"Come on!" He yelled, his blue eyes narrowed in anger at the king of serpents. "Finish me off ya stupid beast!"

"Naruto!" Hinata yelled as she jumped to her feet. She tried to intervene, only for Kurokodairu and Geita to appear on either side of her and hold her arms. "Let be go!"

"None of that cleanie." Snapped Korvak as his rubbed his hands in glee. Finally that brat was going to get what he deserved. He would no longer have to tolerate dissenters bidding for power in his territory and his sister would be forced to reconsider her plans to replace him as the leader tribe. Oh he knew that she would consider removing him after gaining a blade worthy of their family's history but he was the warrior. He was a true son of Ares and nothing like a weakling like her.

Speaking of his sister, Korvak looked at her out of the corner of her eyes. To his dissatisfied she wasn't expressing her emotions of disbelief and worried about Naruto. Snarling internally he vowed that one day he'll make sure show fear and despair on her face before he had someone slit her throat. He wasn't going to invoke the wrath of the furies because of murdering of family.

But now he wanted to watch the scrapering blonde die. "Finish it!"

The snake hissed at the order from the demigod and turned its head to the son of Ares making the demigod take a step back. Opening its mouth it turned towards Naruto to end this farce once and for all.

Howe, instead of lunging forward and swallowing the boy whole The snake squealed in pain as lightning from a hooded figure blasted it from the stands. Naruto, finding the coils slacking for a moment, wiggled free and fell into the water below, not noticing a red glow on his back that mended his flesh from the fire.

"An intruder! Capture-" Was all Katana yelled out before the figure threw several smoke and tear gas bombs at the daughter of war, making her gag. The tribe, seeing that this wasn't one of their own roared and charged with anger at the one who interrupted their fun.

The figure jumped to the side as the position she was previously was pelted by stones and clumps of metal from slings and spears from atlatls flew by, cutting holes in her cloak she wore. With inhuman grace she flipped over a sewering, kicking the boys head as she did do. He landing was much to be desire clever as the crate she landed collapsed under her weight.

"Get the trespasser!" Roared Korvak as he took out a cobbled together weapon. Hinata noted it was a bastard of a single handed ax, but instead of an ax blade from metal she could see it was several broken kunai and glowing metal fragments that were haphazardly arranged together. It was an ugly weapon that would make any seasoned smith or warroir look down upon, but here? It was a tool that commanded respected and fear. It wasn't smooth but jagged, fitting for killing a foe with pain if the opponent was not granted a killing blow.

Knowing this did nothing for her as she struggled against the ones holding her hostage.

"Let me go."

Kurokodairu looked at the girl. "Boss said no."

Geita rolled his eyes. The boss is facing a lighting user. You know how he is about lighting like his father."

Kurokodairu nodded his head. The children of Ares hated lighting, probably a hold over after the fall of Zeus. The god had caused considerable damage to Ares with lighting before being defeated, even going as far as using the master bolt but it wasn't even to stop the god of war. Their father, they had learned from an older demi-titan, had earned the wrath of Ares by allowing humans the ability to use lighting but was granted mercy as it only spread the war further.

'But this doesn't look like chakra based lighting.' Geita thought to himself.

Korvak and Katana were having the same thoughts as they clashed against the cloaked being who intervened with their fun. Katana growled at the ANBU masked individual as she ducked and weaved under Anaklusmos' blade. The figure had acquired a staff from a sewering but it was broken in two by Korvak's bastard ax.

"Give up." Taunted Korvak. "Your out numbered."

The figure ducked under a wild swing. she then used the halves to pin and throw the war child into the areana where Naruto and the basilisk was recovering. "And your inexperienced."

Katana backed off stunned at the sight before her. Then her finger rose and a snarl formed on her face. "Thalia Grace. The daughter of the fallen king of the gods Zues. Here I thought you'll have the smarts to stay away from the eyes of my father after he cut out your eyes yet here you are. New eyes I see, did one of the the goddesses grant you them in hopes you'll be of use to toppled Ares? You'll tell me where your mistress is and I'll consider granting you a quick death."

Thalia snorted as her soild gray eyes narrowed. "A quick death? I should be the one to grant you that girlie. You might be his daughter but I've faced better than you."

Even as she taunted Katana, Thalia's mind was racing for a means to get herself and the boy Naruto out of here. The one called Hinata was a lost cause as the twin giant children were of stronger stuff than demigods, even without the annoying moral and immortal defensive traits their parent had...

Rolled to the side she avoid a swiping riptide and a part of her felt sorrow at the memories seeing that blade came with. But she had a mission to complete. Seeing an opening she punched the other girl's left temple with a lightening enforced punch. Katana screamed as the lightening burned her flesh and scorched her.

"Katana! You bitch how dare you hurt her!"

As Thalia found herself fighting an enraged foe, Naruto was busy attempting to survive his own. Granted the snake was no where to be seen but the boy had no intention of sticking around. quickly climbing up and out of the pen he raced over to where Hinata was being dragged away.

"Come on!" He yelled at her as he ducked under a fist while clawing the attacker's face.

"Your not going anywhere Naruto!" A scraper yelled only to stumble as the ceiling shook.

"ANBU!"

All fighting paused before every child scattered as mask Ninja appeared from above. Cursing his luck Naruto leaped down a tunnel as one of the masked Adults took down the ones holding Hinata with several fast taps on their bodies. As for Thalia she jumped in behind him, but not before stealing Riptide from the unconscious Katana. and using it to cut a support beam to bury herself and Naruto's escape route.

"Hinata! Are you alright!?" Hinata look up to see her mother staring worrying at her.

"I'm ok mom."

"This has gotten too far. The Hokage must be informed about this. All these children were reported missing from the orphanage over the years lady Hyuga." An ANBU said as he stood over the twins that were the leaders of this collection of children.

Hinata's mother nodded her head. "I agree with you on this captain but this area is their home. Danzo's actions have created strong independent ninja recruits but this is borderline abuse to their health."

"Mom... There was a boy here. I've met him before at the park. He had yellow hair and what looked like whiskers on his cheeks." At Hinata's words the nearby ANBU cursed before yelling out orders. Naruto Uzumaki had been missing for several years now and the Hokage feared that he was taken by enemies of Konoha. But to be here in this dump of a place? That took skill and luck.

"We'll find him honey...We'll find him." Hinata's mother soad as she held her daughter and slowly made her way out of the room via the opening of the ceiling.
