Chapter 0: Prologue

"Avada Kedavra!" Voldemort chanted with delight. He sneered at his prophesied nemesis mocking the very idea. Yet his smile froze as a blinding white light rose from the frail body of the child. The unstoppable spell was blocked as Voldemort's body and soul incinerated in this white light. The room shook as an unimaginable force crushed everything in and around the house into mere rubble. The sky brightened as the white light beamed through the clouds before completely dissipating. The innocent child floated down and rested gently on the remains of a bed oblivious to the power that had rooted into his body. After several minutes a giant man came to visit before standing frozen at the sight of the wreckage.

"Merlin beard...How would?...What could?" The man blathered. He had rushed here under the order of Prof. Dumbledore to save Lily and James's kid yet never in his wildest dream could he have imagined a wreckage of this scale. The trees broken and uprooted, plants smashed into pulp and the house crushed into a rubble is what stood before him as if a titan stepped on the land. He used his big hands to move the debris as he made his way towards the only remotely intact thing he could see. He couldn't help but shed tears when he saw a frail baby.

"Here here buddy...It's alright" He said more so to console himself as he lifted the child gently and wrapped him in a blanket.

"HAGRID!" A slim tall man shouted as he ran towards the wreckage.

"Hagrid...Where's...James...Lily..." He spoke and he looked into the wreckage before he pushed the debris aside frantically. His eyes bloodshot as he kneeled down on the wreckage.

"Pettigrew...That rat...he...he betrayed us...He..he killed James and Lily" Sirius grumbled before he looked at Harry resting in Hagrid's large hands.

"Dumbledore sir asked me to take Harry to him"

"Take my bike with you" said Sirius before he morphed into a black dog and ran off.

Without wasting any more time, Hagrid safely tucked Harry into his coat and rode the magical motorcycle to the skies moving towards the address he was asked to bring Harry to. The entirety of magical Britain rejoiced when they learned about the demise of the Dark Lord. The news spread like wildfire about a year old baby bringing the end to the reign of the Dark Lord. Harry Potter thus became the hero and the hope of magical Britain. Yet the said child rested in Hagrid's hands watching a golden book floating in his mind.

The Dursleys considered themselves to be a perfectly normal family. Vernon Dursley considered himself blessed to have such a good wife and son. As one of the managers of the Grunnings drill company, he prided himself for his good work and hoped for a promotion soon. Life was happy and peacefully until his nephew was found sleeping in his doorway. Petunia was too shaken by the news of her sister's death that he could only postpone the discussion on how to deal with the kid. After all they never agreed to house the kid and he sure was not going change his mind just because of a letter.

Having had the worst day of his life, Vernon came home stressed and angry. The first thing he wished was to take the kid as far away as he could so that they could return to being the normal and happy family of three. Petunia voiced her concerns about the dangers spoken in the letter and soon he had to relent and helplessly welcome a new unwanted member to his family. Vernon generously gave the boy the cupboard under the stairs as his new home and warned Petunia that the first signs of anything remotely unnatural, then the boy would have to go.

Petunia felt uneasy every time she looked into Harry's eyes. Even after years spend shunning her sister away from her life, Petunia couldn't help but feel her mind in turmoil. The death of her sister shook her as she remembered the happy days they spend together. Yet with this grief and regret came an even stronger hatred for the magical world. After all it stole her sister and best friend from her twice before claiming her forever from her. Harry represented two things that she loved and hated the most and this led to immense confusion in her. But Petunia took care of him nevertheless maintaining extreme alert to any sign of abnormality. Months turned years as Harry slowly integrated into the family of three. Vernon was particularly wary of Harry yet he too had to end this fruitless search for abnormality. Nine years have passed since they accepted Harry into their family and the whole nine years proved that he was normal. Too normal and in fact a bit too well behaved for his age. Harry was a determined reader from the day he learned to read even to the extend of helping with chores to earn a trip to the library. Petunia was especially bewildered when the boy demanded to help her in her daily works and was amazed by how fast Harry caught onto things. All she had to do explain once and he would do an excellent work. Thus began small lessons on house chores and cooking until Harry grew proficient enough for her to trust him with the work unsupervised. This especially helped free her day with which Petunia slowly crept into a prominent position within the local gossip group. She was especially proud of how beautiful her garden became in the hands of her nephew especially when the local woman openly envied it.

Vernon on the other hand was happy with the normal life he lived together with his perfect family. Dudley grew up just like him but much more 'confident' while Petunia looked beautiful as she always was. He mostly ignored Harry which was an easy feat because of how quiet and well behaved the boy was. These nine years showed that the boy was perfectly normal especially after Petunia affirmation on the matter. Vernon had to secretly admit that he was impressed by the boy's determination to gain knowledge and especially Harry's attitude to shoulder responsibilities to follow through with his ambition just like him. So when the boy came to him with important documents on the resource distribution and investments of his company and pointed out a mistake, Vernon couldn't have been more shocked and amazed. Yet when Harry spoke of many anomalies and pointed out to faulty documentation and deliberately made mistakes within the document, he knew this was big. Too big in-fact that Vernon could see his next promotion before him. Few phone calls and a trip to the director's office made this sight a reality even exceeding his previous thought swiftly gaining him a double promotion to the Managing Director of Grunnings drill company. Vernon was on cloud nine for weeks holding celebration after celebration for his co-workers, neighbours and family because after all this promotion came with a hefty increase in pay check. He could of course not forget about his 'dear' nephew who made this all true giving him a new room and a promise to visit bigger libraries. He also secretly made a deal with Harry to give him better allowance in return for his help with work. And this especially proved to be a great deal as the company showed major increase in profit within the third month of his promotion gaining him respect from his colleagues and adoration from the director. His pay check doubled gaining him a good amount to move to a bigger house and go on a small vacation overseas with this family. Harry on the other hand had his allowance tripled and also earned the right to visit libraries without supervision.

Life for the Dursleys changed drastically after they 'adopted' their 'dear' nephew. The perfectly normal boy became their pride earning him their adoration on par with their own son. Little did they know that Harry was not as normal as they thought. Harry Potter was after all a wizard and one with a special ability at that so how could he ever be just an 'ordinary' boy.

'Flaws...Too many flaws. Where do I even find enough books to perfect these?'

I would like to shout out to the author and translator of the novel 'Library of Heaven's path' since this fan fiction is inspired from this novel. I will be crafting this story using few ideas from the above novel so expect some Cultivation aspects and magic professions.
