File on Konoha Academy student- Raiden Ryujin. Update since the failed kidnapping of Hinata Hyuga , updateon awakening of Kekkei Genkai, the Doraganand update on students training.
Raiden had come a long way in the 2 years since the night of Hinata's kidnapping, but after the reality sank in that he had killed a human being to save Hinata, he felt sick to his stomach. After Hikari finally settled her affairs in Kumo and moved to Konoha, he broke down after they moved into their new apartment within the village.
He didn't regret what he did to protect Hinata, but the fact that he had done so without a second thought made him worried of what type of Shinobi he would be when he graduated from the academy. The type that protected the people he loved and cared about, or the kind that killed without remorse? For a time, he didn't know what to think and he didn't trust himself from blowing up on someone that looked at Hinata or the rest of his friends the wrong way.
So one day, he asked his mother to train him in ways to keep himself calm during situations like the one that had happened that night and during missions so he doesn't lose control again. She was more than happy to oblige after comforting her son. He also wanted to learn how to properly use his awakened Kekkei Genkai.
The Doragan.
Hikari herself doesn't have the Doragan because she wasn't born a Ryujin, but according to her, only very few members of the Ryujin Clan have ever successfully unlocked the Doragan in their lifetime, and only one of the clan members has ever fully mastered it. Raiden's grandmother.
Mizu Ryujin, the Mistress of Death.
One of the best Shinobi assassins in the history of the 5 elemental nations before she suddenly retired. Many say she was killed, others say she's gone into hiding. However, select few members of the Ryujin Clan know where she's located, and Raiden is one of them. Merely because when Mizu suddenly left, he missed her.
And whenever he would go to visit her at her secret location, or locations, he would make sure he wasn't followed. He considered it practice and training for stealth back then before moving to the big leagues, so to speak. But he would sooner die during an interrogation before he gave up his grandmother.
So, with the knowledge that Hikari knew of the Doragan, she trained Raiden as best as she could before he started experimenting with the Dojutsu on his own at times. Although he made sure not to do anything too rash or reckless while training his eyes and getting used to the zooming feature, but he knew there was more to the Doragan than what he was already aware of.
He made a note to send a letter to one of his fellow clan members to send him a scroll or two that had detailed descriptions of the Doragan. The things to do, the things not to do, how to make it stronger, how to make it better and how to use it properly than just spying on enemies from afar.
He also made a note a note to send his grandmother a letter to see if she would train him more thoroughly should the scroll prove to be not enough for him to get a full grasp on the Doragan's true potential. But for now, he would enjoy the time he had left as an academy student before becoming a full fledged Shinobi.
Present Day, Konoha Village...
Raiden walked out of his and his mothers apartment wearing a white form fitting shirt, a short sleeve black leather jacket with dark blue Shinobi pants, black sandals and black fingerless gloves as he entered the street before stretching his arms out and began to walk towards the academy. Along the way, he could see Kogeki some distance ahead of him and began to pick up the pace to catch up.
"Hey! Kogeki!" He shouted towards his friend as he ran up to him.
Kogeki stopped and turned around to see Raiden running towards him before giving him a smile. "Good morning, Raiden. How are you?" He asked his good friend. Raiden just shrugged and smiled.
"Eh, pretty much the same as always." He answered before leaning slightly to his right to get a look at Kogeki's right eye that was covered by his hair and some bandages that were wrapped around his head. "How's your eye?" He asked. Kogeki would normally flinch at the mention of his eye, but with Raiden, he didn't have a problem talking about it, but he shrugged and chuckled.
"Ah, it still itches at times. Especially because I'm still wearing bandages to hide it even though it's had more than enough time to heal. I understand why I need to hide it though. Having an eye that's from a deceased Ryujin Clan member still sends shivers down my spine. It's like someone else is watching my life from a donated eye. Plus, I imagine that your father and fellow clan members aren't particularly happy that a Hyuga Clan member could potentially have access to the Doragan. Although the possibility of that is highly unlikely." He rambled while scratching the back of his head with a smile, but Raiden shrugged as they continued walking.
"You won't have to wear it for much longer. You just have to pass today's exam to be a Shinobi and then you can take it off after. Plus, your Byakugan mixed with the Doragan could be an interesting and helpful Dojutsu if you somehow unlock the Doragan. And by the way, don't worry so much about my father or my other clan members. They're all too focused on their little worlds to notice what's going on around them. Kinda sad really. They're almost as bad as the Uchiha Clan, if not worse." He said jokingly as they both chuckled softly before they stopped to see someone wearing a red with white accents, low cut Kunoichi battle dress with black flames, dark blue sandals, and form fitting shorts underneath the battle dress, crouching near the adult magazine store.
It was their friend, Yama Chikyu, who they haven't seen since Raiden first moved to Konoha, but they'd recognize that short and messy dirty blonde hair anywhere.
"YAMA!!!" They both shouted and ran to greet her, but in doing so, they made the girl squeak in surprise as she turned around quickly and kneel with her head to the ground while she apologized repeatedly.
"AH!!! I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I wasn't looking at those magazines, honest! I had dropped my purse and I went to pick it up, but I got distracted by those... those... those delicious and lickable chests on those women that I just couldn't help but keep looking even though I wasn't in the store." She explained before she started acting weird.
"Yama." Kogeki said to her politely, but she continued while still not knowing that her two best friends were in front of her.
"Such... nice oily, soft and squishy mounds of pleasure that I don't know how to contain myself from doing something so... so..." She continued with hearts in her eyes and drool hanging from her mouth.
"YAMA!!!" Raiden shouted with a twitchy eye. Yama shook herself from her little fantasy before she started apologizing again repeatedly. "I'm, sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm-"
"Yama, look up you ditzy airhead." Raiden told her which made Kogeki chuckle. Yama stopped apologizing and looked up at both of them quickly with flames in her eyes. "WHO THE HELL ARE YOU CALLING A DITZY AIRHEAD YOU... you..." She shouted before her teal blue eyes finally noticed who she was shouting at.
"Raiden?" She asked, who nodded with a smile.
She looked over at Kogeki and smiled. "Kogeki?" She asked him, making him smile.
"AHHH!!!" She screamed before embracing both of them in a tight hug which made both boys smile and laugh before hugging her back.
"It's so good to see you again, Kogeki! And Raiden, what are you doing in Konoha?" She said to both of them before Raiden explained when he moved to Konoha and what he's been up to since then.
When he told her what happened on the night of Hinata's failed kidnapping and what happened to Kogeki's eye and why he covering it, she walked up to Kogeki and brushed his hair aside to see the bandages that covered his right eye. She gasped softly and hugged him tightly before looking at Raiden.
"Four years and you've both been here attending the Konoha Academy?" She asked, making them both nod their heads as Kogeki covered his right eye again.
"And to think that my Okasan thought it would be a good idea if I studied at home. I'm no where near where I should be. I mean, I'm one of the strongest in my clan, but still, you two are far ahead of me right now. The only reason I'm heading to the academy today is because we're doing more than taking a written exam and I'm required to attend the academy for today to take a Jutsu test. That's what I heard anyway. I need to catch up somehow. If I manage to graduate that is." She looked down and said sadly.
Raiden and Kogeki just smiled before the both of them each placed a hand on her shoulders. "Hey, don't worry, Yama. You'll do fine. And when we all graduate we'll catch you up with us. You have nothing to worry about, ok? As long as the three of us stick together, nothing can stop us." Raiden said to her encouragingly, which made her eyes light up before she smiled.
She nodded and hugged them both again before running ahead then stopped to wave at them. "Well come on! Let's get to the academy so we can graduate!" She shouting before running ahead again towards the academy.
Raiden and Kogeki both smiled before running towards the academy themselves.
They couldn't wait to show the world what they were made of.
Later that morning, Konoha Academy...
Raiden, Kogeki and Yama all walked in to the academy classroom and took their seats as more students came in and took their own seats.
Hinata took a seat next to Kogeki. Sakura Haruno and Ino Yamanaka took a seat next to Yama because she was sitting close to Sasuke, so they both decided to keep an eye on her while keeping an eye on each other at the same time, but Yama didn't care much for Sasuke.
Raiden looked around the classroom to take a look at who he might be working with in the future. He first heard a loud munching and crunching sound which made him look over at the round and chubby looking student with a large bag of barbecue potato chips in his hand.
"Choji Akimichi."
He thought before he shook his head lightly before looking at a student with a tied up spiky ponytail that looked tired and didn't want to be in the classroom.
"Shikamaru Nara."
Then he noticed a young boy that was wearing black tiny, round glasses on his face with dark brown spiky hair. They aura around the boy seemed mysterious and almost unsettling, but what made Raiden narrow his eyes at him was the sound of insects that he could hear, but didn't see any in the room.
"Shino Aburame."
He knew all these guys and he knew, somewhat, what they were capable of, but decided to put it out of his mind for now to focus on the exam.
Naruto, meanwhile, noticed Raiden when he walked in and took a seat next to him.
"Hey, Raiden! How are ya?" He asked walking up to Raiden and smacked him on the back as he sat down.
Raiden just smiled and patted Naruto's shoulder. "I'm doing alright, Naruto. Thanks. How are you feeling about today?" He asked him. Naruto smiled brightly and gave him a thumbs up. "Oh, I'm feeling great about today! I'm going to graduate, become a Shinobi and then I'm on the road to becoming the next Hokage! Believe it!" He declared while some of the other students snickered and whispered that Naruto had no chance. Hearing this, Raiden sent them all a glare that made them all stop talking before smiling at Naruto.
"Well, at least you're optimistic, Naruto, but don't get too full of yourself. You never know what might happen." He advised, but Naruto just scoffed. "Don't worry so much, Raiden! I've got this in the bag!" He said confidently.
Later that morning...
"We will now start the final exam." Said Iruka as he walked into the classroom. "When your name is called, proceed to the testing room." He continued before pausing to pull out a piece of paper. He read it for a moment then continued. "The final test will be on... the Clone Jutsu."
Naruto put his hands on his face while internally freaking out. Raiden, noticing this, glanced over at Naruto and smirked. "What was that you were saying, Naruto? Something like, I've got this in the bag! Believe it!" He jokingly teased Naruto who looked over at him and glared at him with his nostrils flared.
Raiden just chuckled and looked back to the front of the classroom to listen for his name while Naruto lowered his head and scratched his head in despair.
15 minutes later...
"Raiden Ryujin!"
Iruka called Raiden's name and waited at the classroom door as he walked down the steps and walked towards Iruka while the rest of the remaining class kept their eyes on him.
Many glared, some smiled in support while others just looked at him like he was some sort of puzzle to be solved.
He walked with Iruka to the testing room then seconds later after walking in he noticed that sensei's Iruka and Mizuki were both going to be testing him.
Iruka walked to the table and took his seat next to Mizuki while Raiden subtly kept his eye on Mizuki. Raiden didn't know what it was about him, but he never liked Mizuki. The Chunin just gave off an unsettling vibe and he didn't like it. There were times that he wanted to talk to a teacher about him or even tell the Hokage, but without any sort of proof or hard evidence, there was nothing he could do. He would have to think of something though before someone got hurt.
"Raiden." Iruka called to him bringing him out of his thoughts. "The Clone Jutsu. You and the other students have done this hundreds of times. You can do this. Now... whenever you're ready, please begin." He said to him making Raiden nod his head, close his eyes and inhale deeply.
Raiden slowly spread his legs and bent his knees slightly while channeling his Chakra with his hands pressed together.
His eyes suddenly snapped open.
"Clone Jutsu!" He shouted before the part of the classroom that was standing in was suddenly filled with smoke.
When the smoke cleared, Raiden still stood in his spot with not one, not two, but three solid clones that looked exactly like him to the tiniest detail.
"Well done, Raiden. You pass." Iruka said to him with a smile before taking one of the Konoha headbands that were sitting on the table that he and Mizuki were sitting at and walked over to Raiden.
Raiden's clones dispelled in clouds of smoke as he watched Iruka walk towards him with a smile and handed him the headband. "Congratulations, Raiden. You are now a full fledged Konoha Shinobi. Great job, buddy." Iruka said to him as he teasingly rubbed Raiden's head and patted his shoulder.
Raiden just looked at the headband in his hand and placed it on his head before tying the back of it then looked up at Iruka with a bright smile. "Thank you, Iruka Sensei. I hope to work along side you in the field soon." He said to him confidently with his hand reached out.
Iruka chuckled before shaking Raiden's hand. "I'm looking forward to it. And I look forward to seeing what you will do in the future." He said to him proudly before showing Raiden out of the room.
He walked back over to the table and picked up his notepad to look at who was next on the exam list before Mizuki spoke up.
"You know, maybe we shouldn't have passed that kid." He said which made Iruka look up at him in confusion.
"What are you talking about? Raiden did an exceptional job with the Clone Jutsu. Three solid clones on his first try. How many students have you seen in the academy that can do that, Mizuki? Many of them can barely make one. But three in one go? We can't fail that. It would look bad for us and for the academy." Iruka explained, but Mizuki just shook his head.
"He only did that to show off. Like Sasuke, Raiden thinks he's better than everyone. He only wants to be a Shinobi to prove to himself and to the Kumo village that he isn't weak. He doesn't care about Konoha. He's not one of us, Iruka." He said to Iruka coldly, but Iruka shook his head.
"His headband says otherwise, Mizuki. And if you think Raiden is weak, then you haven't been paying attention to the class like you should have. He's more than you realize." Iruka pointedly said before walking out of the room to call out the next student.
Mizuki waited until Iruka was out of the room to start glaring at him before cracking his knuckles before writing down on his notepad and put a checkmark next to Raiden's name.
However, what both Iruka and Mizuki didn't realize was that someone was eavesdropping on them before they disappeared.
Hokage Tower Office...
Hiruzen Sarutobi sat in his chair in the office before he suddenly heard a pecking noise from behind him. He turned around in his chair to see a falcon on the windowsill pecking its beak on the glass.
He stood up with a smile and opened the window to see that the falcon had a small letter attached to it.
"Hmm, that's odd. This is old school Shinobi stuff. I haven't seen a bird, a falcon for that matter, have a letter attached to it in many years." He thought as the falcon hopped onto his hand.
"Hello, little one. What have you got for me?" He said to the falcon before gently taking the letter off to read it, but the falcon didn't stick around for long after the letter had been detached.
It flapped it wings and swiftly flew out the window as Sarutobi say back down in his chair and began to read the letter with his glasses.
"Lord Hokage,
I do not wish to cause concern or start any trouble with anyone, and if I am wrong about what I am currently feeling then I will accept anypunishment you have planned, I will publicly apologize to this person that I am about to accuse and I will also give up my headband and retire early as a Konoha Shinobi, but I cannot ignore this feeling of dread that I feel from this person.
The person in question is one of the Konoha Academy instructors that goes by the name of Mizuki.
I will be brutally honest with you Lord Hokage, but I cannot even begin to explain what I feel about Mizuki and I do not, unfortunately, have any proof or evidence that can prove that Mizuki is guilty of any crime. I will admit that if I am proven wrong then I am wrong and I will not speak another word of the matter.
However, I cannot shake or ignore the feeling that Mizuki might be up to something terrible. Do I know this? No. Do i know for certain that he is up to something? Again, no. But something inside me is scratching and clawing at me to put a stop to him before he does whatever it is he has planned.
I did not want to confront him about this because, one, again, I could be wrong and I am taking this way out of proportion. Two, if I confront him, I would not only over stepping boundaries as a Shinobi, but I would also be accusing a fellow Konoha Shinobi of treason without proof.
Which is why I sent this letter to you, Lord Hokage. You have ways to see if someone inside the village is about or planning to commit treason.
Once again, if I am wrong about all this, then I will publicly apologize to Mizuki and give back my headband and retire early, but if I am right, then at least a small crisis has been avoided.
I understand that this is a serious accusation, Lord Hokage, but something is not right about Mizuki, I can feel it.
Although, I do hope that you know what is the right thing to do, Lord Hokage, because as of this moment, I don't.
Thank you for your brief time, Lord Hokage.
Sincerely, a concerned citizen/Konoha Shinobi."
Sarutobi removed his glasses and put his hands together to think about what he just read.
"That is obviously Raiden's handwriting. I've received enough letters from him during his time here in Konoha to know how he writes. And he's right, this is a serious accusation. One that is without proof or evidence, only a gut feeling." He thought as he pressed his fingers to his temple and rubbed them gently.
He let out a deep sigh before long. "However, in my experience as a Shinobi, evidence and proof is sometimes not enough. All you have to go on is your gut, especially when it is clawing and eating away at you from within. It is then that you know that something is wrong even without evidence and you have to do something about it regardless of what the consequences are." He continued to think before looking back down at the letter.
"And for Raiden to go as far as to offer a public apology and announce his retirement if he's wrong... that tells me something. If he feels this conflicted to reach out to me like this, then he may be right about Mizuki. There may be something going on that neither of us are seeing. And with him being an academy graduate, he's conflicted about doing what is right and what is logical. Well... if he sent me this letter, then he must want to do what is right. However the question now is, what do I want to do?" He thought before finally making his decision.
"Panther! Wolf!" He called as two black clad Anbu Shinobi appeared in the office and kneeled before him.
"Yes, Lord Hokage?" They said in unison.
Sarutobi stood up from his desk and stood in front of both Anbu Shinobi. "I have a task for both of you. And I want it done as quietly and stealthily as possible." He began as both Anbu looked up at him.
"What are your orders, Lord Hokage?" Panther asked.
"I want the both of you to keep a close eye on the Konoha Academy instructor, Mizuki. There is a deep concern about him and I want to find out why. Do not engage with him in any way, not yet. Just keep a close eye on him for now and report anything that you feel is suspicious. However, should you both feel that his motives prove to be sinister and life threatening, then you have my permission to kill him on sight. Understood?" He explained to them as they nodded.
"Yes, Lord Hokage." They answered.
Sarutobi nodded. "Go." He ordered.
Both Anbu dispersed and teleported out of the tower.
